I parked right in front of my door, and while I had my reservations (it's been a while since I stayed in a motel), the room exceeded expectations. It smelled neutral, the carpet looked new, bathroom was spotless--no dirty grout or stray hairs. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, and a blow dryer were all provided. I was woken by sirens during the night. The front desk explained that, due to the location off Hwy 29, wrecks are pretty common in the area. Breakfast was another pleasant surprise. The area was clean and well-kept, and an employee even got cereal and milk for my child. As guests left, he promptly cleaned and reset tables for the next group. The motel is conveniently located next to a gas station in case you need anything. The pillows weren't my favorite, but they were fine. I did feel the price was a bit high, likely due to camp season and the property's close proximity to nearby camps. All in all, I'd stay again.

There's a lounge area, that might have been a swim area but the lake was extremely low when we visited, so I'm not sure. There a patio with a grill, fish fry and smoker for guest to use and some hammocks. I think they used to rent kayaks and stuff but the owner said they were damaged in a recent storm, and there is a boat ramp. The rooms are spacious, with a kitchenette, and very clean. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked great in the unit. The shower is small and had no hot water, which was barely tolerable was we did not visit when it was hot outside. Also lake gnats. They are everywhere and while completely harmless, they do get in your room even when you are careful. In the back is a long, open patio area with chairs and grills that can be used. This is a shared space with your neighbors. It's definitely a place to go and relax for a few days. It would be good for fishing, lake activities and reading. The owner was very nice and communicative. Although I saw in another review that this place was pet friendly, and that is NOT true. There are sign's everywhere that say no pets and there's extra fees if they stay with you.

Well, actually we just fed the fish, cause we sure didn't catch any. There was an automatic fish feeder on the dock. When it went off in the dark, it scared the s**t out of Glenda. I laughed so hard! At night, they fired up the fire pit, which was really nice. There is a container in the frig which had stuff to make s'mores If you want to. We just kicked back and relaxed. After 34 years with me, you need a little relaxation! We took walks around the neighborhood. There were deer everywhere! And some friendly. For the hotel/restaurant, we stayed in K1 which has direct views of the water. These are not fancy rooms (no tvs or fancy furniture) but it was so relaxing and beautiful. The restaurant is good with a full bar and beautiful lake views.

Andrea was stellar with quick communication! Housekeeping gets 5 stars because it was really impressively clean. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and the beds were very comfortable. The grounds are well kept and we enjoyed hiking around and seeing the beautiful wildflowers. I can't say enough good things about this place.
