Don't stay at the "Treehouse". The toilets were filthy in all of the bathrooms. The kitchen cabinets were stuck together from years of grease and grime- you can see fingernail marks where people have struggled to open the kitchen cabinet doors. The loft windows were very dirty (see picture). Overall, this home needs updating, and when you are spending several hundred dollars a night, it should at least be clean. 11th year at this beautiful location. We stayed at several places within the Cove right on Lake LBJ. Beautiful homes with lots of rooms and things to do. This year we were iced in and Megan who runs the place and her staff were amazing. They were responsive and helpful and saw to it we were well taken care of. We rented the Cabin Fever location and were a family of 15. Each and everyone of us really enjoyed our stay, we had plenty of room with lots of space. We really enjoyed the pool and the hot tub as well as the outdoor cooking area. The only downfall to this cabin would be the stove. It's a really cute vintage style stove but unfortunately the electric stove didn't function as it should have making meals a bit tough to make. The TV in the Master bedroom we could not get it to access any channels. That part really wasn't a big deal because we did have our fire stick that we connected to the Living Room television for movie night. The kids really enjoyed the loft area with the pool table and all of the open style sleeping arrangements while the adults enjoyed their privacy in the 5 bedrooms. We spent two of those days down by the lake enjoying all of the amenities including the water trampoline and the paid ones like paddle boarding and the pontoon boat. Every single one of us agreed that we really enjoyed this family vacation. 3 of us are joining another group for memorial day weekend in a few weeks and the rest of us are all planning on coming back next summer. Highly recommend this location for large groups, small groups. I completely forgot to mention, if you are out on a boat make sure you have lifejackets for everyone, this place is patrolled heavily and yes they do ask for fishing license as well. You can buy a fishing license at H-E-B nearby. My son really enjoyed fishing one of the days that we were there. This year really be on everyone's list to visit! read more

Came here with hubby for wedding. I am impressed on the scenery however, The cabin that we stayed in was a duplex and unfortunately our next-door neighbor or a couple with three boys. They were up until 2:58 AM and I could still hear the television from next-door. I would recommend if you intend to stay here to make a reservation at a cabin not a duplex. The log country cove was very accommodating and they had friendly staff. I can see why people stay here. Though we were given armbands to use their facilities but because of the limited time we had, we did not take advantage of the water equipment for the lake. I was a little disappointed that they did not provide hairdryer and also the battery on the remote controller for the television was dead. Overall, the stay was pretty decent. Such a cozy little getaway. I'm not one to do a log cabin out in the middle of nowhere but this was actually pretty cool. My family and I (6 adults and 6 kids) really enjoyed our selves. Minus the tv, all of our kids stayed tech free which was awesome. They really enjoyed themselves playing in the pool all day and visiting the lake along with a platoon ride and some serious volleyball fun. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because our cabin wasn't the cleanest. Whoever stayed before us obviously brought along their dog and that was not cleaned up before our arrival. If your not a pet lover it's pretty gross to walk around and have dog hair covering your socks (yuck!) we reached out to have it cleaned up but no one ever came by address it, unfortunately. We chose Log Country Cove for our anniversary getaway. Shadyside cabin was the perfect spot. The bed was comfortable for our three night stay. The grounds were beautiful! Trees, green grass, and a lake! My husband rented a skidoo and had a blast. There was a water trampoline available for anyone interested. Lots of volleyball options, play grounds, and picnic tables. Our cabin held a microwave and mini fridge. Perfect for the two of us. Had we planned better we would have brought some steak to grill on the little pit in the front yard. Next time. Easy access to restaurants and groceries in Kingsland. We took the hour drive to Fredericksburg one day and had a blast. It was a beautiful trip! We look forward to bringing family back! read more

I stayed at this beautiful property in October with a women's group I belong to. We rented the main lodge and two smaller cabins, on each side for 3 nights. This location is aboslutley gorgeous!! I cannot express enough how much thought was put into building these homes to perfectly show off the lake views. The main lodge is out of this world, I stayed in the bottom level that leads out directly to the heated pool/hot tub area. We affectionately named the "orphanage" because of the row of twin beds! So cute! There are gorgeous walking/hiking trails, dock to fish from, swing rope and they provided kayaks and SUP to check out the lake. We also rented pontoon boats one day that picked us up right at our cabins dock. Also spent a day checking out two very good Texas Wineries nearby. The owners/ property managers were so amazing to work with, they really take a lot of pride and care into this and it shows. Excellent customer service anything we needed they were right on top of, which wasn't much b/c they really have it so together!! Very organized and all houses stocked with anything you could possibly need. We are already palnning to go back next fall! read more

The ladies of my family and I spent Mother's Day weekend at Log Country Cove this year, we loved it! My 91-year-old Grandmother attended and the house was handicap accessible and easy for her to move around in on her walker. The distance from Austin was perfect and the prices were reasonable. The staff was very helpful, polite and engaging. We look forward to returning annually and experiencing the other homes. Our house did not have wifi (Cloud 10) and the icemaker did not work but we used hot spots and made a few ice runs to the store a few miles down the street. read more

My daughter had her wedding here in APR 18'. I rented two cabins to accommodate the family coming into the area from out of town. I could not be more pleased with the cleanliness, material condition and all the equipment and cabin supplies. The grounds up-keep was spotless. The event venue is a feature to behold. Majestic, rustic and well appointed to accommodate a large group (200-250), rain or shine. The staff is spectacular in their set-up and response to requests. I am particularly impressed with the way these folks made everything look so smooth and effortless. This is the mark of real pros in my book. This is the place that you will find yourself shedding the stress and pressure from your home life to enjoy the exceptional facilities, activities and hard work of the people working to make all this happen. This is our 5th year staying at Log Country Cove. It's pricey but really nice. There is a rope swing and a water trampoline and for an additional price, they have rentals of boats, floats, kayaks, etc. The log cabins are furnished with dishes, pots & pans, towels, blankets, etc. We've stayed at multiple houses, but our most recent one was Haynes Hideaway. It fits a lot of people and has a hot tub, pool, huge deck, and add'l fridge outside. The beds are pretty uncomfortable in this cabin though and for the price you pay, you should at least have comfortable beds. read more

For the last 12 years a group of our high school friends (from the 70's) have held an annual get-together in the Hill Country. 9 of these events have been held at Log Country Cove. Last weekend was our most recent stay and it was fantastic. Lost Moose Lodge was our choice this year and it did not disappoint. In addition to LML we've stayed in the Avonne and Cabin Fever. All were top notch and the location of LCC is great. The staff is always friendly and responsive. The houses and grounds always clean and well kept. It is definitely worth the price. What I like is you rent your own lodge maybe for a romantic getaway away or book 25 lodges for a wedding or family reunioun. Everyone gets their own lodge. Not impressed. Office customer service is poor, over the phone and through reserving they are quite helpful, but once you get onsite their demeanors change. When something is needed they act as if you're a bother and forget their customer service skills. The wifi is horrible and their only response to this was "well it's the country" rather than upgrading their service given how much they charge. Staying at Log Country Cove for our annual family vacation was a 10/10 experience. For our trip, we stayed in the Big Timber Lodge, which was one of the only cabins large enough to host our extended family. Situated right on the banks of the river, this cabin was the perfect location for our three days on the lake. My only complaint with our cabin was the open-aired style of the great room and basement: the walls dividing the rooms did not go all the way to the ceiling, so there was not way for people to stay up late when others wanted to go to bed. read more

Heroes Hideaway is what we rented out. I was a little hesitant on pricing upwards of 4k for 4 nights...but it's summer and I get it. Anyways I was pleasantly surprised the house was much nicer than the pictures portrayed online and we really loved the aesthetics of the log house. The house was clean, cool and the pool was pristine & ready to go. Beds/Mattresses were uncomfortable but isn't that anywhere usually you go? The shower head in the downstairs bathroom was horrid little to no water coming out of the spout and the master bathroom didn't have a shower...jacuzzi tub only which I thought was odd...for this 1/2 a mil worth house I would think a nice plasma or led TV in this century would have been nice ...and some decent channels...no wifi here either. Love that the house was secluded and even though the pool was on the smaller side it really was the perfect size once you got in it and sufficient for a family of 11+, there was a hot tub but we didn't get to utilize it :-( since we were burnt out from the fun in the sun all day. I would suggest bringing some good cookware/flatware and kitchen towels, they had pots and pans but old and not in the best condition. Knives were terrible to cut meats/veggies. Linens were clean and fresh. The couches were worn & sunken...there could have been more lounge seating for guests...All-in-all a solid 3 star. We are looking forward to checking out some of the other homes available preferably animal friendly. PS: the charcoal grill was great for grilling and s'mores read more

The Tuscan Villa at Log Country Cove was really nice. 95% of the entire 7 bedroom house was amazing and well kept. The house was equipped with everything needed for a large family/friend stay. The 5% lacking were a broken gas grill, chairs in the media room need replacing and a few other small furniture items not in the best shape. However, we had a great time! read more

Great place to stay for a lake trip. We have been visiting Log Country Cove for over 10 years. Our most recent trip was a family reunion of the weekend. The cabins are beautiful and can accomodate large groups easily. Cabins are well equipped and many have their own pools / playscapes. The owners have done a great job with the facilities. Nice area by the front office on the lake for activities - horseshoes, volleyball, trampoline in the lake, rope swing, golf, etc... The staff is great and responds to questions quickly. read more

This resort/home management group (Log Country Cove) suggests that after being in business ten years it is okay to call the customer(s) liars and cheats. The owner said "in ten years of business this is my first time ever doing so, I responded this is the first time in 52 years I have been called one"! My family and I are successful professionals and I can assure you in our collective 200 years in business we would not and have not ever called a customer/client a liar, despite ANY circumstance...And if staff were to do so (pervasive at LCC), they would no longer be "staff". Business 101, yes? Not at LCC in Kingsland Tx. We rented a beautiful home on LBJ at the tune of 1500.00 plus fees/taxes/cleaning etc a night. Deposit and credit card info left. Full sail ahead! After arriving back from a great time at the lake LCC felt compelled to withhold 160+ for a "credit card" fee. They suggested that we failed to come by office to "swipe" the card. We picked up the key and no one said anything about "swiping". Long and short of it: they didn't care that they had never spoken with us directly about this policy. So imagine if you will, the "bickering" and time lost over $160+. As a customer we agreed that there was clearly a misunderstanding. As a business owner, LCC would not accept that there was any misunderstanding. The $160 was more important; it was easier to say "we simply don't care" and THEN suggest that we were "walking the check"! This after already charging our card for the full amount. Right-O, 1500.00 a night patrons walking the check, does it get any more insulting than that? After paying close to 6K for a home rental, they don't care? Really? I can't help but wonder if the home owner they represent would appreciate LCC calling future return customers (up until now) liars? I'm guessing not. A final note. Before you commit to this company. They manage beautiful homes, but home owners often list with more than one management group and/or list on homeaway or vrbo.com...do yourself a favor and look at other options before using this group. read more

We actually stayed at one of the first homes in their second location, which is a few miles away from Log Country Cove. I'm not sure why the owners decided to decorate with old-fashioned pinup drawings of provocative cowgirls. Thankfully our kids didn't notice. But it was still a great experience. We enjoyed the hike on the main property, though the maps and trail markings could be much better. Our kids enjoyed fishing in the river right on the back of the house. The people in the house next door were really loud, but thankfully they quieted down about 10 or 11. There was no telephone in the house or any of the "hotel" type brochures about what to do in the area, so there was no way to call the office directly from the home. No internet, either, and cell service was a little come-and-go. There was satellite, though, and plenty of cooking utensils and dishes. We tried to take the kids to the playground on the main property, but they were running their sprinklers in the middle of the morning and everything was soaked. Also, be prepared to make a hefty deposit when you make your reservation. It would be a great place to rent out for a family reunion or something like that. read more
