Such a cozy little getaway. I'm not one to do a log cabin out in the middle of nowhere but this was actually pretty cool. My family and I (6 adults and 6 kids) really enjoyed our selves. Minus the tv, all of our kids stayed tech free which was awesome. They really enjoyed themselves playing in the pool all day and visiting the lake along with a platoon ride and some serious volleyball fun. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because our cabin wasn't the cleanest. Whoever stayed before us obviously brought along their dog and that was not cleaned up before our arrival. If your not a pet lover it's pretty gross to walk around and have dog hair covering your socks (yuck!) we reached out to have it cleaned up but no one ever came by address it, unfortunately. Other than that we had fun and the stars at night are absolutely breathtaking.

I stayed at this beautiful property in October with a women's group I belong to. We rented the main lodge and two smaller cabins, on each side for 3 nights. This location is aboslutley gorgeous!! I cannot express enough how much thought was put into building these homes to perfectly show off the lake views. The main lodge is out of this world, I stayed in the bottom level that leads out directly to the heated pool/hot tub area. We affectionately named the "orphanage" because of the row of twin beds! So cute! There are gorgeous walking/hiking trails, dock to fish from, swing rope and they provided kayaks and SUP to check out the lake. We also rented pontoon boats one day that picked us up right at our cabins dock. Also spent a day checking out two very good Texas Wineries nearby. The owners/ property managers were so amazing to work with, they really take a lot of pride and care into this and it shows. Excellent customer service anything we needed they were right on top of, which wasn't much b/c they really have it so together!! Very organized and all houses stocked with anything you could possibly need. We are already palnning to go back next fall!

Thanks for the cleaning info Mina! Good to know That definitely wasnt made clear, it was more of a "call us if you need anything or your trash taken out" impression. But thats very good to know for the future! Thanks so much! :)

This is our 5th year staying at Log Country Cove. It's pricey but really nice. There is a rope swing and a water trampoline and for an additional price, they have rentals of boats, floats, kayaks, etc. The log cabins are furnished with dishes, pots & pans, towels, blankets, etc. We've stayed at multiple houses, but our most recent one was Haynes Hideaway. It fits a lot of people and has a hot tub, pool, huge deck, and add'l fridge outside. The beds are pretty uncomfortable in this cabin though and for the price you pay, you should at least have comfortable beds.

LOVE this place. Log cabins (packed with everything you need) right on the Colorado river. What more could you ask for? Plenty of room for kids. Our cabin had a pool, poker table, loft with multiple beds. Kitchen stocked with every utility you could ever want. Great!

Relaxing.....

The pros: - Staff is very attentive, friendly and helpful - Rooms are clean and reasonably spacious - Rooms have been updated recently - Beds are comfortable and sheets are fine - Fair amount of basic cable options - Breakfast is good The cons: - Building is old and I don't personally love the motel system - Pillows are really awful. They are half size and lumpy - No coffee makers in room (why?????) - Clientele is. . .mixed. On the plus side, no obvious drug deals, so better than any place in Amarillo - Water pressure is low and water smells of sulphur, but that's not really the hotel's fault

And for some reason it wouldn't cast from phone to tv! Went out and drank near the pool with some coworkers. Place is pretty well maintained. Also sign at the registers say they will not allow locals to stay in the hotel? Curious! Bed was decent but the pillows were small. Shower was nice a walking shower with plenty of room. If I ever had to stay again I probably would hope they fix the TV problem though. This is a cute property right off Lake Buchanan…read more The property has a fishing pier with three poach swings and is lit up at night as well. There's a lounge area, that might have been a swim area but the lake was extremely low when we visited, so I'm not sure. There a patio with a grill, fish fry and smoker for guest to use and some hammocks. I think they used to rent kayaks and stuff but the owner said they were damaged in a recent storm, and there is a boat ramp. The rooms are spacious, with a kitchenette, and very clean. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked great in the unit. The shower is small and had no hot water, which was barely tolerable was we did not visit when it was hot outside. Also lake gnats. They are everywhere and while completely harmless, they do get in your room even when you are careful. In the back is a long, open patio area with chairs and grills that can be used. This is a shared space with your neighbors. It's definitely a place to go and relax for a few days. It would be good for fishing, lake activities and reading. The owner was very nice and communicative. Although I saw in another review that this place was pet friendly, and that is NOT true. There are sign's everywhere that say no pets and there's extra fees if they stay with you.

All the regular rooms are in one long building. That means everyone has the same back patio, which I didn't like. Whether your just relaxing, or cooking on the included grill, it puts your neighbors too close to you. But what a view of the sunset! The swimming area is a little small if a lot of people are there, but just great when it's not crowded. The rooms are very basic, but have everything you need. Beds were soft and the A/C worked like a champ. I booked Saturday and Sunday nights, so the second day we were the only ones there. Peace and quiet! We swam. We fished. Well, actually we just fed the fish, cause we sure didn't catch any. There was an automatic fish feeder on the dock. When it went off in the dark, it scared the s**t out of Glenda. I laughed so hard! At night, they fired up the fire pit, which was really nice. There is a container in the frig which had stuff to make s'mores If you want to. We just kicked back and relaxed. After 34 years with me, you need a little relaxation! We took walks around the neighborhood. There were deer everywhere! And some friendly. This is a very nice place if your looking for a weekend retreat. I thought it was a little pricy, but everywhere has gone in that direction. Pay up buddy! By the way, it's right across the cove from the Vanishing Texas River Cruise, which we definitely enjoyed.
