My husband and I came to Texas to see the eclipse and the managers, Chris and Mita (apologies if incorrectly spelled), were the epitome of Texas hospitality and care.

Ok so this is really like 3.5 stars but I hate to round down…read more This Best Western does the absolute best it can with what it has to work with and is a solid value for the price. The pros: - Staff is very attentive, friendly and helpful - Rooms are clean and reasonably spacious - Rooms have been updated recently - Beds are comfortable and sheets are fine - Fair amount of basic cable options - Breakfast is good The cons: - Building is old and I don't personally love the motel system - Pillows are really awful. They are half size and lumpy - No coffee makers in room (why?????) - Clientele is. . .mixed. On the plus side, no obvious drug deals, so better than any place in Amarillo - Water pressure is low and water smells of sulphur, but that's not really the hotel's fault

Got my room and it was actually really nice and looked newly remodeled. Set my bags down and left to eat. Got back and tried to mess with the TV and couldn't get it to work properly and there was no Netflix even though the controller had it. Wish I had brought my fire stick! And for some reason it wouldn't cast from phone to tv! Went out and drank near the pool with some coworkers. Place is pretty well maintained. Also sign at the registers say they will not allow locals to stay in the hotel? Curious! Bed was decent but the pillows were small. Shower was nice a walking shower with plenty of room. If I ever had to stay again I probably would hope they fix the TV problem though. Almost forgot breakfast they have a free breakfast and that morning it was chorizo and eggs I usually dont like chorizo and eggs but it was pretty good! Our stay was ABSOLUTELY perfect! The guys at Templeton's Tavern get 5 stars for the friendliest and best service ever. They made us feel very welcome and right at home with many above-and-beyond moments like bringing us an extra pickleball racket to the court when they noticed another family member show up to play. The food and drinks were great. The games and pool table were super fun. We enjoyed the live weekend music from our patio while we cooked hotdogs and s'mores over the fire. Andrea was stellar with quick communication! Housekeeping gets 5 stars because it was really impressively clean. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and the beds were very comfortable. The grounds are well kept and we enjoyed hiking around and seeing the beautiful wildflowers. I can't say enough good things about this place. It is unique and combines all the beauty of nature with all the comforts of home and lots of attention to detail in decor and service. The container cabins are really very pretty and the spider sculptures are a neat touch. The sunset view is so amazing my tween girl ordered us all to the upstairs balcony to take it in. This is the perfect place to hang out with friends and family. We were sad to leave and will 100% be back. Best Spring Break ever.

The furnishings are tore up, even though you pay a $75 cleaning fee they require you to strip the beds, wash the dishes, and take all your garbage to the dumpster that isn't close. The WATER! Smells like a mixture of vomit and sewage that you bathe in. The restaurant/bar is a food truck and some bartenders that sat on top of the cooler for the night. Bun on sandwich was so burnt you couldn't eat it and when I left a google review the owner said I was rude so I guess that is all ok with her! Be careful though, they spy on you while you are there. 30 mintues before checkouT the "housekeeper" cased the place and then parked in front of the dumpsters and watched us... so creepy. Don't waste your money. It's HORRID, plus read the review on Google that says the same thing and the owners response. I'm rude because I kindly called out you overcharge for a dump! I am calling the health department on that food truck they call a restaurant and it. Is Luke a old creepy murder movie they way they spy on you in the dilapidated grounds...gross!

First the location was ideal, right on South Congress and the best part is that the parking is free! I was a little concerned about noise coming from the clubs that are literally steps away, but it was not an issue the weekend I was there. Second, the property is more like an Airbnb in that there's no front desk. You get the access code via email prior to your arrival. However, that is not to say that there's no staff. I had some questions and was easily able to talk/text to someone immediately. We were in the Orange room which was comfortable and well-designed for two people. Plenty of storage space in the main room and in the bathroom. I always get nervous when I see the wall mounted AC unit, but this one worked great! Our room was nice and cold and the unit was very quiet. My only negative point of our entire stay is that the water pressure in the bathroom is a bit weak and the hot water from the sink tap takes a very long time to warm up. We enjoyed the common room with the Jura coffee maker. There is also filtered water and other beverages available at no charge. I'd like to add that the staff is incredibly friendly and kind. I look forward to staying here again soon!

This should have been a momentous experience. Unfortunately my experience was tempered by a ventilation issues and an odor that persisted the whole stay. On top of the fact that the shower area and bathroom floor grout was severely in need of elevated maintenance. This could be overlooked if we had booked with a lower price point establishment. But for the money it did not meet its claim to be "design forward and intentionally serene" which is what you are looking for when you are celebrating an anniversary. I want to say I'd stay here again but right now as I said in the outset really torn.
