Edgars used to be a favorite but after another very disappointing meal at this location, it's off my "go to" list. Our party of three waited a very long time for our food, one order was wrong (they brought out something with ham and a poached egg that was the opposite of the order) and the server acted like it should have been accepted saying: "we have a new chef." She reluctantly went back to replace the wrong order and we had to eventually go inside to get it off the counter where it had been waiting for who knows how long. The salad was presented without dressing and we were questioned about asking for it! Then they had only one choice. Another order was skimpy and the bread not fresh. I used the "contact me" email option to let the company know but after two weeks of no response and warning you - beware of what you'll get if you choose to eat here! read more

Really want to like Edgar's, but they just don't seem committed to their dine-in menu. Came this morning with three people. After a brief wait, all but one food item was brought to table. They said the French toast would take a little longer. Ten minutes later, after everyone else was finished eating, we were told that they still needed to make the French toast mix. Why wait until everyone else is done to tell me this?? No excuse for this. Either fully commit to your eat-in menu or stop serving food items. read more

I can't say anything bad about Edgar's. The desserts are dreamy but their lunch is fantastic as well. They have great sandwiches but I can't get away from ordering the Waldorf Salad. The ingredients are always fresh. My second favorite thing is the Lemon Feathermelt cookies because they are so light and airy. read more

Slow, slow service at 3pm. Had to change order to go bc it was taking forever. I ordered a sandwich that had 'avocados' in it and it had probably 2 teaspoons worth. Also got a side of "fresh fruit". The blue berries were mush and the grapes were covered in mayo and chicken salad... So I'm guessing they picked the grapes off some other prepared meal... Kind of weird, not sure if I'll eat lunch there again. The pasta salad was delicious, and my daughters curry panini was delicious. Probably go to a different Edgar's next time. read more

My friend and I had lunch today at Edgar's in Pelham. Upon entering the bakery we could not find any menus and no one offered to help us. I eventually found a stack of menus on top of a bakery case. The cashier rushed us to order a drink and food. We ordered a drink but needed some time to look over the menu. She again stated to us to order which we did hurriedly. The Waldorf Salad had "luncheon meat chicken" in it and we returned it for some sliced/chopped chicken. After we finished eating that same cashier quickly picked up our plates and drinks in a rude manner. I had planned to take my water with me but didn't get a chance to. I will never go there again and will spread the word. BTW_I have been many times to the Edgar's Bakery on Hwy. 119 for lunch and have always been pleased with the service and the food. Just left Edgars in Pelham Alabama. I walked in prepared to purchase a large assortment of cookies for a dinner party tonight. I wasn't greeted when I walked in the store, even though two employees look directly at me. I wasn't asked if I needed help even though I continue to make eye contact to get service. What broke the camels back was another customer walks in and was helped with in seconds. I am very disappointed that in 2015 African-American are still being treated in this way. I will never shop at this location again. I may never shop at edgars period. I will make sure to use every social media site to share my experience. read more

Here for the SEC baseball and heard about Edgars. Got two sandwiches to go. The T bird was good and came with home made chips and a side (pepper slaw was tasty). The other sandwich was the Marilyn Monroe, it was good also with potato salad (good). The main thing to go there for is the sweets! Many to choose from. Tried red velvet cheese cake and lemon bar, both was very very good!! Have several other things to try but to full, they will have to be later! Service was friendly and didnt feel rushed. For a long workday it is a perfect break for lunch that tingles the taste buds with the sweetness of fresh cut apples and the zing of a raspberry vinaigrette. We bought a cake for my daughters wedding back in June of last year. My mother in law picked up the cake from the Pelham location and brought it to the venue about 2 hours away. When we opened the cake the writing was not straight and a mistake had been made in the writing on the cake and scraped off. This was very visible. There was no time to bring the cake back to allow them to fix it so we had no choice to use it. I contacted the store and even sent them pics of the cake. The lady was very apologetic and offered a gift card for compensation. We live 10 hours away and had not gotten a chance to use the gift card. We had planned on using it on a trip back to Alabama this summer. I called to find out the worth of the card...and to my surprise it was a whopping $10.00. Keep in mind we spent almost $90.00 for the cake we had purchased. I honestly just had to laugh. We had used Edgar's as a family many times in the past. In January I ordered a cake for my husband's retirement party. I paid extra and in full, which was fine. I got there the day of the party at the agreed upon time given to me by Edgar's manager, Mrs. Lovoy. The worker told me that the order never made it to the decorator, and that there was no cake to give me. She offered me a cake out of the case, which I took and then gave away. She assured me that she would make sure the manager called me and that I'd receive a refund. I never heard from the manager. I went by the store the next week and spoke with Mrs. Lovoy. She told me that she could not refund me since I had accepted a cake out of the case, that she could only refund the extra amount I'd paid for the decoration. I wanted an apology at least. I did not get it, and I also didn't get the partial refund. Will never go to this Edgar's store again. If I could give less than one star I'd do it. read more

Ordered cake for my son's 18th birthday. Comparable to Publix bakery, the cake was not fresh and was dry, probably had been frozen; was not moist. The icing was pulling away from the cake and you couldn't taste the lemon filling. Unfortunately this cake fell well below expectations especially for the cost. We expected to get a better quality tasting cake for the price and the name brand. Sticking with Publix! read more
