I stopped by for a quick grab n go lunch while I was running an errand. I had to get back to work so I didn't want to take too much time. I had heard of this place, but never visited before. I like how they have meals and prepared items that you can take home to cook for yourself. I didn't happen to pick any up this time, but several things looked delicious. I chose to get the turkey and apple sandwich with broccoli slaw. It was delicious also, I was influenced by the large peppermint chocolate cookies at checkout and just had to grab one of those too. It was so yummy! And large enough I was able to share some for another day. I'm glad I stopped by, and hope to go back again when I have more time to try more of the menu and maybe get some items to cook later. read more

Let's talk about the fact that Alabama is the anchor for real southern cuisine! When I moved to Atlanta I thought there were gonna be these superb southern cooks with the old school recipes - nah nah not at all! I was surprised and appalled that I didn't get the flavor (soul) I was looking for. Well fast forward - I've had several business trips to Birmingham and they have been mouth watering goodness each and every time! O M G. Ashley macs is a place everyone in Birmingham raves about in the area. I decided to try them for catering and so glad I did omg! It was soooo freaking good. They gave me so many other places to try but I was Afraid I was gonna gain 10 lbs if I thought on them any longer lol Ashley macs hit the spot! They were on time, polite, prompt, bought all the things I ordered, I mean I couldn't ask for a better catered lunch for the day. Ashley Mac's is a go-to for locals in Birmingham. The Inverness location has had much turnover but this restaurant haas been tried and true for years. The selection of take out it fabulous and always good. I lived in Birmingham and now am in Connecticut. When people drive to see me I always request they stop and pick up cheese grits, sour cream biscuits and cookie dough. Eating is always fun. The location is so cute and the food so good on this visit I had the mandarin orange salad I added chicken. It was so good and they automatically put the dressing on the side. A nice touch. I love that there's so much more than lettuce- candied almonds and feta and of course the mandarin oranges. One sour cream biscuit is a tease though. So good!! read more

Went here for a date night. It was a light meal that was pretty delicious, it was a tad bit over priced for their simple meals . I ordered a strawberry cake for Mother's Day this Sunday. I called Saturday morning (late) and was so thankful they had a cake for me to purchase. The cake was absolutely delicious and so fresh. Ashley macs is a solid place to grab a sandwich. I wasn't overly impressed with their food, but it was still delicious. It wasn't anything mind blowing, but it was good. It was also a little pricey for the portion size. I had a chicken pesto sandwich and it was good, not amazing. I probably won't be returning for a sandwich, but I did hear they have great soup, so I may be back to try their soups. read more

I got a to go order last week and was very disappointed after reading good reviews. I got a chicken salad on a croissant with a side of fruit. It was a sad little pre made sandwich tightly wrapped in Saran with one tiny pale piece of lettuce on the side. Fruit was better but also a small portion. Sandwich was obviously made hours before, croissant was crushed chicken salad mostly mayo with no discernible pieces of chicken. I felt ripped off for a 9$. read more

This is my first review, but Ashley Macs is soo deserving of kudos! I have lunch there at least once a month and have never been disappointed. The chicken salad, the club... You can't go wrong! Not to mention the desserts! But what motivated me to write a review was a take home option. I've purchased the breakfast casserole and the beef stroganoff and enjoyed both. Tonight I brought home the beef enchiladas. Incredible!! The lunch menu doesn't offer this item, so I thought I was taking a gamble. Wrong! The ingredients list cream of chicken soup, which I thought was odd. But it makes for a perfect queso like sauce. But thicker and with green chilies. Two big enchiladas are provided, I only ate one and I'm stuffed! Easy, satisfying meal to go. I highly recommend. read more

I'm still such a sucker for the salad trio with spicy pimiento cheese, chicken salad, and baby bleu salad--however, my hubby joined me today and he tried the bistro steak sandwich. We picked the greek pasta salad as a side and grabbed a bag of salt and vinegar potato chips. Yum! It was tasty, a well-sized portion, and he enjoyed it! Since AM's is a chick lunching spot, I wasn't sure he'd be impressed--but he enjoyed himself. He wouldn't dine in with a bunch of coworkers, he said, but he'd do pick up ;) I reminded him of all of the newly added outside seating. Don't forget to use your AM punch card! I only have one more visit and then I'll have 20% off when I place orders (except for catering)! The cashier even told me (since I'm expecting soon) that people love to stock up with their frozen casseroles at 20% off--that way hubby's, partners, or friends can just pop it in the oven and wallah--dinner is made ;) I'm still not as devoted to the frozen meals as I am just dining in, but I won't turn down giving it another try!
