Roly poly is one of my go-to sandwich shops, I love the variety of options and portability. I stopped by the Homewood location to pick up a quick dinner one evening and everything flowed smoothly. The storefront and dining area was spotless and I was greeted time I hit the door. I browsed the cookies because they looked super fresh and they were nice and soft. I ordered the hot honey roll and some chips, my meal was tasty as usual! It was a little rainy outside, so the place wasn't packed but I enjoyed the quiet, chill vibe. Looking forward to many more meals.

    So great!

I loved it! So many options, and my roll up was delicious! Clean restaurant, helpful and quick staff, and deliciously fresh food made for a great experience! I'll definitely be back!

Roly Poly is sensational! Absolutely bomb sandwiches for a great price. They have a large, customizable menu so you can't really go wrong. Located in a cute area with lots to do. We also had a lovely conversation with the owner and his wife! Hot Pressed Chipotle Chicken w/ Ranch: 10/10 Cold Rolled Thai Hot Tuna w/ Spicy Thai Sauce: 10/10 Parking: Should be able to find street parking within a 5 minute walk of the restaurant!

Got a couple salads to go to use for lunches. Relatively quick service, and the salads were pretty generous. We got all the same--Alpine Chef Salads. Sorry to see, though, that a couple locations closer to me have closed. This location is in a pretty busy area, and if you go at lunch, it can be pretty difficult to find parking. Seating has been reduced to allow for social distancing, but it looked like a lot of orders were to-go anyway.

When my kids were younger, we went to the Roly Poly in Vestavia all the time. It was one of their favorite places and I liked it because it was a healthier option than alot of places. My family was super sad when they went out of business. The one in Patton Creek was still open but it is was a farther drive for us, so we rarely went. My son now works in Homewood and told me that they now have a Roly Poly in Homewood. We decided to go together for old times sake, and it still is the amazing place that it was. I talked with the owner and told him that we had visited the Vestavia store for years and low and behold it was the same owner that had owned the Vestavia store. I am so glad! When you visit, I recommend the Nut and Honey. It is my favorite sandwich that they make. I do wish they would add the raisins back rather than the cranraisins, but this is small compared to the whole experience. Also, get the whole sandwich rather than the half because you can save the rest for lunch the next day. Also one other tip, you may have to wait a few minutes for your sandwich but remember they are making it fresh.

Came here for lunch. Got the chicken pesto pressed wrap and the chicken enchilada soup on the side. Both items were good. The soup was warm and creamy with good taste. The rolled sandwich was good too with the pesto, chicken, mushrooms, and sun dried tomatoes. I only wish the chicken in the wrap wasn't the precooked, fibrous kind. Price point to portion ratio was okay, considering the homewood location.

Every since the one downtown closed I have been missing my sandwiches. I have never eaten at this one but I will say they are as nice as the crew was downtown. My order was promptly taken. My sandwich was served hot. And it was good too.

This was a darn good wrap. You can see the bacon and avocado!

I didn't have high expectations but Roly Poly totally blew them away! I don't know if there's a whole lot to say about a sandwich shop, but I have no qualms giving Roly Poly 5 stars for being quick, convenient, well-priced, and of course, delicious!

Fantastic food! A must try spot in the very cool SOHO area. Quick, courteous and friendly service.

Soup changes daily and this day was chickpea and chorizo. Nothing life changing about it but it wasn't bad. We walked into a small, dark, crowded dive bar and ordered amongst several other people after waiting in line shoulder to shoulder with other customers. I say this not to complain (because with a crowd like this on a random weekday, they're obviously doing something right) but to take your kids in car seats (‍) with caution. Crowds in small spaces stress me out and it would have been even worse if we'd had the boys with us. I'd also highly suggest going on a day when you can sit outside. There's very minimal seating inside. They do have a lovely, spacious patio that also feels like a garden with plenty of trees for shade. However, they make it clear they don't want dogs there. Parking was horrific. A narrow street with cars on each side. We barely fit through it. If there wouldn't have been an open spot on it, I'm not sure what the next option is because I didn't see anywhere else and this street only held so many. I would dine here again because the sandwiches were fresh and delicious and they obviously know what they're doing! I was pleasantly surprised that they had prosecco as well. Just heed my few warnings and you'll enjoy as well!

I can't believe I haven't been here, but I can finally say I have been to Momma Gs!…read more With the original Momma Goldberg's opening in 1976 in Auburn, this location of the popular franchise is located right on 18th St South across from Homewood Toy & Hobby and right next door to O'Henry's Coffee. MG's has all the qualities of a quaint little hometown eatery with it's "wood" floors and paneling on the walls. Space is a premium inside with only about 8 small tables scattered throughout. On one wall is a self service soda/tea/condiment area. One interesting note was the disposable cutlery. Each one of the plastic forks, knives and spoons were individually packaged. Never seen that before (yes I need to get out more often). The opposite wall is littered with local band posters and ads giving you a nice college bar feel. There's a couple of tables right outside when the weather allows, but you que to place your order, pay, grab your liquid refreshment, have a seat and wait for you name to be called. If you're in the mood you can even stand close to the line and "watch" how they make their famous Nachos! I did. It's basically a layer of Doritos chips on foil with pepper jack cheese on top, then jalapenos and then the final step... the entire ensemble is steamed in the same steamer that warms their sandwiches. This nicely spreads the cheese and softens the Doritos giving the chips a softer but still retaining that nice crunch. The dish is so simple, yet delectable! Vasha ordered a side of their famous Nachos so I got to taste and it was as good as Vasha hyped it to me! He also got one of his favorite go-tos the Turkey Delite. The sliced turkey with mozarella on a honey wheat hoagie looked pretty good. I was in the mood for and ordered their Chicken Salad sandwich. Their own unique homemade chicken salad strays from what I would consider a "traditional" chicken salad, but I admire that they made it their own with chicken cut into cubes instead of shredded. Add American cheese, shredded lettuce, fresh tomatoes in a grilled roll and you got yourself a contender! The side salad I got was a sandwich box half of shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, tomatoes, red onions and croutons was on par. Their menu boasts a few other sandwiches that I would love to try like the Momma's Love (roast beef) and Pastrama Momma. Looking forward to returning soon.

Luckily one opened up. The person who took our order wasn't rude but he wasn't friendly. Not a problem but noted. I felt very rushed picking my sandwhich even though there wasn't anyone behind me. You should definitely know what you want before you get in line. We got our food and they messed up my friends order so we had to wait for them to correct it. You usually go up and grab your food but she was nice enough to bring it out to us. The sandwiches are pretty small. I thought I saw a soup option online but that wasn't an option in person.
