I usually visit the location in Riverchase, but since I was in this area, I decided to stop in. A friend of mine was in from Key West so I thought I would bring him some treats, including Key West pie and the assorted cupcakes since he had never had them before. I too had never had the Key West pie anywhere so I was interested in trying it myself. I am so glad I did. I was very pleasantly surprised that it was delicious. I just got too small pie so we could each have one to ourselves the only thing I think I would've liked was possibly a lime on it, but the graham cracker crust was delicious. When I order from here, I do online ordering so I can just go inside and pick it up, which is what I did this time around. The restaurant was clean. There was a few people behind the counter. I went to the area where you can pick up your order orders and you just pick it up and walk out the door super easy. I highly suggest doing it. read more

It was just ok. The place is a bit sterile and lacks personality. I had a salad trio with chicken salad, pimento cheese and harvest salad. The portion was enough for two which was nice but the chicken salad and pimento cheese were a bit plain and needed some seasoning. My husband got the burger and enjoyed it. They have a ton of prepared food to go and quite a few people came in just for that. read more

Food is good but they are cheap now not allowing you extra dressing for the broccoli slaw which is way too dry now. Even if you offer to pay! read more

Ashley Mac's offers fresh, flavorful salads and sandwiches, with great service! The ambiance is clean, bright and inviting. Meet a friend for lunch and grab a frozen prepared entree and dessert for a quick dinner! All locations are conveniently located, but I am partial to their Cahaba Heights location. read more

This is the best of the best of the best in all of Alabama. The way it began years ago was really good but the way it is now is even more amazing. You can close your eyes and order any single thing on the menu and you will love it no matter what you get to eat. Everything is delicious. And the service inside is so nice and helpful too. And the cleanliness and temperature and everything in here is really perfect too. YELP should allow me rate this AshleyMac's 100stars because it is better than just 5 stars. So perfect here. read more

The food is always freshly prepared. The customer service is top tier. There isn't much of a wait time either. Salad trio is awesome.

The place was clean, lacked ambience. But the food was fresh and well prepared, nothing fancy. Good place to go for a quick lunch!

I wish there was a ZERO star option. Cold food, cold shoulder service, overpriced... there were crumbs on every table I tried to sit at. My salad came out and the lettuce was basically a wet napkin. The carrot cake my wife got was disgusting. I asked for a manager and the guy with long hair told me he doesn't work there? He's wearing your gear? Lady at the counter said he's the boss. Wouldn't go back if it was free. read more

Every year at Thanksgiving and Christmas I let Ashley Macs do my cooking! The Turkey Bundle is the way to go!

The service was excellent and the food is very fresh! They have a great selection of frozen dinners.

I always get the pick three trio. You can't go wrong getting a plate to sample all of your favorite salads. The staff is always attentive, and I love their new rebrand. My is being able to stop in and grab something out of the freezer for dinner. It's a really fun environment and you can sit outside if it's a pretty day. read more

After a long day of travel, we were spent and didn't have the bandwidth to jump into our own kitchen. AMK to the rescue!! Poppy Seed Chicken family meal + wedding cupcakes just made the end of this long day a lot easier and more delicious! read more

Great lunch food! Service is prompt. I love the selection of to- go items. This is the perfect lunch spot to meet your girlfriends!

Where's the chicken? We have definitely seen a decline in food prep. The chicken sandwich has much less chicken than previously. So little you can barley taste chicken! Yes inflation has hit - but it should not affect quality of the food. Maybe instead of the renovations they should focus on maintaining their standards. read more

Amazing food and service! I enjoy the poppy seed chicken and mandarin orange salad. Also a great option for holiday dishes!

This is my favorite restaurant in town. Everything I've ever ordered here has been amazing! Get friendly staff!

Ashley Mac's is one of my favorite lunch places. Their gluten free dishes are clearly marked, and my favorite is the lemon rosemary chicken. I also love grabbing their frozen twice baked potato for future meals. read more

It was okay. And I mean just okay. I know that people around here rave about it but I honestly didn't realize a reason as to why. My husband and I stopped in for lunch. He ordered a sandwich which is pretty hard to mess up since it was a pimento cheese BLT. He had the broccoli salad as a side and we liked it. We also ordered a wedge salad which was good. I ordered their poppy seed chicken platter with a side salad. I was expecting to be wowed by this poppyseed chicken casserole and I was underwhelmed. The only flavor to be found was in the Ritz cracker topping that was crumbled on the top. No flavor in the chicken, much less the sauce in it.The white rice underneath tasted like the boil in bag type with no flavor to be found. Given the COVID restrictions, I didn't even have salt or pepper to doctor it up. We had purchased a poppyseed casserole to go and when we heated it up I was able to add seasoning to it but there was no rice in the dish. We read the label and it didn't say to serve on top of rice. So we had thick chicken soup. As much as we love to go out to eat, I do not see us going here again. The salads were really good, but not good enough to draw me back in. read more

Love Ashley Mac's the good us always fresh, hot and so good ! We did take out today and it was still hot when we arrived home.

My favorite chicken salad!!! My go to meal though is the rosemary chicken. The sour cream biscuits are so good!

One of my favorite local restaurants. I've been to every location and the food is always consistently great. My favorite menu items are the chicken salad, and grilled chicken club but you could order anything from here and I'm sure it'll be good. The frozen take home meals are a bit pricey but are pretty good also. read more

I love the food, but customer service leaves me scratching my head at the location off 280/Valleydale. Today, I get a sandwich, 4 tables full in restaurant, no line. My food arrives and girl starts to clean my section. I ask her not to...she said don't worry, she will not spray any cleaner on me or my food. Not the point, I don't like to smell cleaning supplies while I eat. This was my first time back (another chance) After Back in September. I swing by for a late lunch, 2:43pm. Closes at 3pm. I ask the employee can I still eat in, and she said they close at 3. I asked if I order, could I finish eating while they start closing process...firm No. So I left. I hope your 3pm urgency is important. I'll continue to enjoy the Cahaba Heights location. read more

If you don't tip the cashier, they treat you like something they just stepped in. Very sad! The food is delicious, but the lady was friendly until after I paid, left no tip (she is not a server?) then waiting for my order (2 minutes later) she asked what I wanted. It was as if she didn't just take my order minutes before. This is disappointing, because I love this place. Train people better in customer service skills. That is all. read more

This is southern comfort food at it's best! If you're needing a meal to warm your heart, look no further! They also have salads if that's your thing Don't forget to grab a slice of cake or some mini cupcakes too! The carrot cake was dreamy - highly recommend it. read more

I am so excited for my neighborhood Cahaba Heights location to be reopened...supposedly happening this Spring 2015! It's been months since I had an Ashley Mac fix, so I made the trip down 280 that may hold me over until CH is back up and running. I haven't branched out because I love ordering the salad trio. I always get the spicy pimiento cheese, chicken salad, and baby bleu salad. It hits the spot and sometimes I'm able to bring leftovers home! Not often, but sometimes.... My friend ordered a sandwich. Unfortunately I can't remember which one, but with this being her first trip to Ashley Mac's, she left saying, "I can't wait to bring my husband here!" It's definitely a ladies lunching restaurant, BUT the food is too good for that excuse to keep men from coming in. On our visit, I saw a dad with his young daughter and a couple groups of business lunches that included men. I'm glad they're not discouraged from coming in. My friend took a mini sampler of cupcakes to work and said that she enjoyed the vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry flavors. I brought home a couple of the strawberry cupcakes for my husband and I to have. So many people only know of AM's because of the cupcakes....but I think I'm going to stick with my salad trio. I'm still more impressed with the strawberry cake from another Birmingham bakery.... On a side note, someone did bring me the chicken poppyseed take home meal after I had my son. It was ok....but I'm not as interested in their take home meals. Maybe there will be point later in mommyhood that I'll return to try AM's take home meals. read more

I love it here! Having lived in the area for a while, it's so refreshing to have another lunch choice. THey have such a great variety and your food is made to order! The ingredients have always been really fresh and great quality. This is a great spot to meet up with friends. I love the outdoor seating and wish spring would get here! They also have a fantastic selection of frozen casseroles that I can take home and keep on hand. Everything is made by hand at the Cahaba Heights location and is fantastic. My favorite is the Spanish and Chicken lasagna. They've also added a vegetarian and gluten free option with the Eggplant parm. While it's not a gluten free kitchen, many of the items are gluten free! Delicious! Also, if you're looking for a good sandwich try the chicken salad or the turkey and spanish aoil. read more

I have to say every Ashley Mac's location I've been to receives 5 stars from me but if I could give this location 6 I would! Whoever was the cashier on Saturday August 4 2018 was the most efficient cashier I have ever met. I don't even know how to explain it. I told her I was stopping by to grab something quick so I could head to my hair appointment and all I knew was I wanted a soda. I picked up a sweet treat in front of the register and she said "Oh that's our almond flavored pound cake, it's delicious, just like pound cake but with almond extract!" She had me sold. I die over almond anything. She asked if I wanted to add a scoop of chicken salad which sounded like just what I needed at the awkward 10:30am where my body is deciding between breakfast and lunch. Sure let's do it. I assumed she would tell me to grab one from the grab-and-go fridge but she had them scoop me something fresh and it even came with crackers! Literally in and out in 5 minutes! They made sure I had grabbed a straw and asked if I needed cutlery. They called me by name after asking for it at the beginning of my order too. I felt like I was eating at a five star restaurant when all I meant to do was slip in and out unseen and unheard since typically to go orders go that way. It was so personal, catered, kind, just customer service at its finest. The Diet Coke was fantastic too- I can't begin to explain my love for on-point fountain drinks. Way to go Ashley Mac's of Inverness! read more

Nothing bad to say.... As I'm a regular :) It's one of those place where you walk in, pick up your food, get in your car, sit in front of a tv and eat. I rarely eat there. Prices are reasonable. Not all the dishes are what I call value meals. Salads are good(dressings I should say, as how can you mess up) and that's pretty much what I get. Otherwise, it's simple food. Sandwiches I had are literally bread and your choice of meat. Sides are Okay to good pending what you decide. Fruit cup sides are real hit or miss. I had my shares of bad fruits. Also several times my orders were missing things. Some might see this and how can you give 4 stars. Well, again, I'm a regular. Unexplainable spell makes me over see flaws and I continue to go there. Mainly I think because I just walk in, pick up, drive home, and sit and watch a show after a busy day. And being near my house :) read more

After hearing people rave about this restaurant I guess I expected more. I had the poppyseed chicken and side salad for lunch recently. This dish is served over rice. To me the chicken dish lacked seasoning and was very bland, especially the rice. I just have had much better poppyseed chicken dishes in the homes of southern cooks. The best part of the meal were the muffins. read more
