Food and service was horrible experience. Was next person in line and the 3 girls at the front had me wait over 5 minutes to order which I get isn't a big deal. Then while I was ordering the girl said why do people keeping coming in there's a storm coming. A storm that isn't coming for another few hours. Then I get my food and come home. They left out my caeser wrap. The mommas love sand which was stuck to the wrapper and I had to spit it out because everything tasted weird. The nachos were good as always but between the service and leaving out the wrap and the sandwich not tasting good I had to let the people know.

While nothing compares to the original Momma G's in Auburn, sometimes you just have to have a Momma G's sandwich. We ordered a Cuban and a Reuben and split with each other. We both agreed that the Reuben was better, but that may have just been our overall preference. As the one who's eaten Cubans more, I kind of assumed it would be on Cuban bread, but the softer bread wasn't terrible. Just not a classic Cuban. Hard to go wrong with any of their sandwiches, though. Nice to see it freshly made to order. We chose a high-top table by the door. I think we both just about put our drinks in our laps because the table wasn't sitting flat. After the second time, I was able to rotate the table a little to almost eliminate the table rocking. The ceiling tiles with all the signatures are pretty cool, and we spent a few minutes looking at the dates and searching for the oldest we could find. In general, though, I hate trying to do much of anything in this area of Homewood. It's always ridiculously hard to find a parking space, I guess I just didn't expect it midday during the week. It was actually a little later (after 1) so even more surprised parking was a pain. So if you want to walk around for a while it may be worth it, but just to pop in for lunch it's a little more of a task.

Nachos with!

They were slammed today around 1230 but got my order up fast. Nachos were piping hot right out of the steamer! Sat outside bc inside was full. It's just like I remember from Auburn. Gotta get the sandwich "all the way" so you get the sauce (Italian dressing, but still, it's special). And the ice, they have the good ice! Crunch, crunch, crunch. Call me nostalgic, but I still love Mama G's. The first time I ever went was '99 in Auburn with my dad. His favorite build your own sandwich is smoked turkey, smoked cheddar, "all the way!"

I stopped in on a Sunday around 1 to grab a sandwich after running several errands. They weren't very busy at that time, but I noticed it took almost 20 minutes for 1 sandwich and some nachos. In addition, the CO2 was out for the soda machine so their drink options were limited to tea for those who opted to get a drink. It's a small shop and does not offer a lot of sitting area for those who want to eat inside. I would recommend trying to find a spot outside if weather permits, or maybe grabbing a bite to go. Parking in this area is also somewhat of a hit or miss when it comes to 18th street, so that can be frustrating if you're in the area solely for lunch. I gave 4 stars because of the length of time to wait for my food, which was also somewhat underwhelming.

A Momma's Love and the Nachos always hits the spot! And it's the kids favorite place to go.

A good back up option. I have gone to this place when other places have lines out the door. They have good options. Yes, being a chain not original to Birmingham but still good. Had an awesome mini Bambino sandwich last visit, but normally go to the French Dip with that wonderful au jus sauce. Save room for the cookie or rice Krispy treats, they are massive. See picture.

Momma Goldberg's was a way of life in college at Auburn, but the quality has seriously declined in recent years. This shouldn't pass as a DOUBLE beef French dip sandwich. Where was the beef? The bread??

Yummmyy! Had the Reuben and the Turkey D'élite! Both delicious! Nice little spot in Home/Edge Wood downtown!

My husband and I have loved going here for the "Momma's love" sandwich since college. I only wish they still had their Trussville location!

Soup changes daily and this day was chickpea and chorizo. Nothing life changing about it but it wasn't bad. We walked into a small, dark, crowded dive bar and ordered amongst several other people after waiting in line shoulder to shoulder with other customers. I say this not to complain (because with a crowd like this on a random weekday, they're obviously doing something right) but to take your kids in car seats (‍) with caution. Crowds in small spaces stress me out and it would have been even worse if we'd had the boys with us. I'd also highly suggest going on a day when you can sit outside. There's very minimal seating inside. They do have a lovely, spacious patio that also feels like a garden with plenty of trees for shade. However, they make it clear they don't want dogs there. Parking was horrific. A narrow street with cars on each side. We barely fit through it. If there wouldn't have been an open spot on it, I'm not sure what the next option is because I didn't see anywhere else and this street only held so many. I would dine here again because the sandwiches were fresh and delicious and they obviously know what they're doing! I was pleasantly surprised that they had prosecco as well. Just heed my few warnings and you'll enjoy as well!

Parking was a bit difficult on this day, but that's to be expected with the holiday shopping traffic. I love Brick & Tin. It's upscale Panera in the best way. This was the perfect lunch. Great flavor, squash, some greens, farro to keep you full (I believe this is an ancient grain), I feel like I checked every box on being healthy for the day. The dressing is delicious and not overdone. They've got bar seating, two tables for larger groups, and then booth seating along the walls. It's a farm-to-table vibe in here, and the food certainly matches. I've never been disappointed by anything from here. I need to try out their downtown location next!

The space itself is beautiful--clean, intentional, and unique--with visual nods to milling and baking traditions. You can see elements of the mill and wheat motifs in the background, which adds a quiet sense of craftsmanship and history without feeling staged. The pastries are exceptional. Their croissants are perfectly flaky and buttery, the sourdough is deeply flavorful, and the morning buns strike that ideal balance of richness and warmth. The baguette is crisp on the outside, tender inside--everything you want it to be. Every item feels carefully made, never rushed. What stands out most is the consistency and care. Breadworks manages to feel elevated yet welcoming--refined without being pretentious. It's clear they take pride in both their craft and their process, and it shows in every bite. A true standout in Birmingham and absolutely worth returning to.

It was about 30 minutes away from my house so I was indecisive if if I wanted to drive that far for food. This place is located in like a mini mall there weren't many cars out in the parking lot and they really weren't that many people inside. But you could tell there's regulars there because when we walked in they were like we don't recognize them lol It is not table service you order at the cash register what we used to call it. They do not have Coke products. They only have Pepsi so I ended up just getting a water. My son got a sweet tea that he liked. He started off with a beer, cheese dip, and that came with pita bread and chips. The server threw some toast and that was really good too. I ordered a cup of the French onion soup and it was delicious. I also ordered the Quattro (Four) cheese flatbread. My son ended up getting the spark burger with mac & cheese. He was dazzled by the burger, but not so much the mac & cheese. I ordered a water. He ordered a sweet tea. I had to ask for a refill for him and I never got a refill for my water. They really weren't a lot of people there so it wouldn't be hard to refill drinks. There is a bar there with a bartender it might be better to sit there so you can get more attention It was definitely a 70s 80s theme in there. In the bathroom, they had a cassette box with real cassettes in there. I really did like the decor. And they do have several TVs in there to watch sports. I'm not sure if I'll be back or not
