Today we picked up: Crunch Nugget (Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie) Purple Haze (Purple Velvet Cake Cookie) Good Luv (Red Velvet Cake Cookie) My wife wanted to compare the two velvet flavors side by side. One thing worth mentioning was the customer service. We both had a welcome reward for signing up for the club that included a free cookie. I had trouble locating my reward in the app, but the employee went ahead and issued a credit before I was able to find it. I eventually located it afterward. Warm, friendly service and everything was explained well without feeling rushed. Now for the cookies. The biggest disappointment for me was the Crunch Nugget. A chocolate chip and peanut butter cookie sounds almost impossible to mess up, but this one somehow fell flat. The flavor just felt below average overall and didn't really deliver on either the chocolate chip or peanut butter side the way I expected. My wife preferred the Purple Haze over the Good Luv red velvet cookie. She said the Purple Haze was sweeter and more moist, while the red velvet cookie was a little drier by comparison. Overall, she still prefers Cookie Fix and Crumbl over Cookie Plug. The cookies definitely fit the oversized premium cookie trend. Thick cookies that are somewhere between a brownie, cake, and traditional cookie. Service was strong. Cookies were decent. If you're looking for soft, delicious, flavorful cookies, look elsewhere. These cookies are thick, but hard. The snickerdoodle was inedible and the red velvet had such a weird, unpleasant taste that was not reminiscent of red velvet, so I threw it away. The peanut butter chocolate chip cookie was OK but nothing ro write home about. Now the Oh Snap cookie, which is an oatmeal apple pie was quite delicious and was the softest of the four. With such a saturated cookie market, I think cookie plug really has some work to do to compete in my opinion. read more

I was happy to try this new cookie store in Knox Square. I had never heard of these cookies before. It's very bright and colorful inside and very simple. You can get two different sized cookies. I have to be honest the cookies were a little off putting. They looked like they were baked in a muffin pan and look very greasy so i was worried about the taste. However, all the ones we tried were very good. My favorite was the sugar cookie covered in non pariels. So good!! The service was great and very fast! Neat place! There is just a window to the walk up to. The staff that helped me was really kind. She had my cookies ready! If you will be placing an order for cookies, just know they they already build ten minutes into it, so you won't have to. I put four o'clock because I knew it'd be about 4:10 before I arrived: However, they had the time as 3:50. Either way, they were still warm! I tried the purple haze one first. Nice, thin, crunchy outer layer and soft and warm on the inside. Delightful! I will say, these cookies are VERY greasy. (See the inside of the box and greasy smoothie king napkins... see... I DO eat healthy sometimes too. ) I am not complaining because I love all the butter, grease, lard... okay; you get the picture. The Cookie Plug is a little hard to find. I passed it twice before I found it. It is located between Body Bar Pilates and Brick's Gap Pharmacy. It is a small store with no seating but it makes up for that in pure coolness factor. There's a pretty awesome mural on one wall and merchandise for sale. All the cookies are on display for you to choose from and they all are thick and tempting. I came in for the first time to cash in a birthday reward from their rewards club. It was supposed to be an iced phatty, which was any two cookies with ice cream between them but they did not have ice cream but I still got two cookies. I tried their red velvet and turtle cookies and tried their signature drink the Purple Drank, which is a lemonade refresher. Everything was SO good. When I say these cookies are thick I mean they are at least an inch thick and served warm. The red velvet was so soft and velvety. It melted in my mouth and tasted terrific. My favorite was the Turtle. It was too soft to pick up in one piece but the chocolate, caramel, and walnuts were in perfect ratio. I will definitely be back for more. The service here was stellar. We excited to try their cookies. Now, our experience may be an outlier based on these reviews, but important to document nonetheless. Unfortunately, our experience fell far below expectations. We ordered a 12-pack of cookies, only to learn that the 12-packs are pre-packaged at the beginning of the week?!?!? That means the cookies we received were nearly SEVEN DAYS OLD!! Not surprisingly, the cookies were stale, dry, and far from fresh. They were like pucks.... When you tapped them on the table, it was like knocking (see video). Insane. To make matters worse, they said they were warming the cookies (cut to 10 mins later), when they handed them over, they were still fairly cold. The entire experience felt disappointing, and the quality did not justify the price. If you're looking for fresh, delicious cookies, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. I was super excited to try this place ever since I first heard they were opening up. Well the first time I went I didn't get served. It was right at the opening for the day and the workers all seemed busy so I didn't really bother either. I figured I would come back since I'm at The Edge pretty often nowadays. Well last week I attempted again and ordered the Purple Haze cookie on my app. I waited quite a bit on my order and was tracking my order progress on the app. It kept not updating to a ready status so I just decided to go to the counter and ask. My order was ready yay! I ordered the Purple Haze cookie cause it's just so pretty. It was delicious! It was huge, soft, gooey, and not overly sweet! I was having multiple app/rewards issues besides this so I contacted their customer support team but it's been a few months and I still have not heard back. It was a little confusing how to order because they have 3 different sizes but you can only by the larges individually and can't mix sizes. I ended up getting 4 large cookies. Taste and texture were good (much better than Crumbl) and they were served warm but they were extremely greasy which all but ruined them for me. I was not the one to purchase these cookies. One of the managers on our floor at work brought two dozen of these cookies before Christmas. He told us that a colleague is a co-owner of this place and he went to support the business. There were several varieties of cookies in the two boxes. I chose the S'more's cookie, which was a chocolate chip cookie with marshmallows on top. I heated this huge cookie in the microwave for 30 seconds and...well...that first bite was heaven. It had the perfect balance of crunchy and chewy. It was rich enough to stand on its own, although ice cream would have been nice too. It was super delicious. I went back to the manager and asked where he got these cookies. He told me that there was a new place in Homewood called "The Edge". He said that it seemed like a very neat place and he wanted to go check it out. No better time than Christmas! I took a couple of these huge, delicious cookies home. My husband loved the birthday confetti and the white chocolate strawberry. We will definitely have to go and try more of these cookies. I got the chance to check out this place a few weeks ago. By now my readers know I love a good cookie but I hate Crumbl Cookies. If you don't know why go check out my review on that. I was excited to try Cookie Plug and my experience was pretty cool. I ordered 7 cookies of different varieties. If I were to sit and go through all of them we would be here all day. I'll just simply give my all around opinion on them. These cookies were way better than Crumbl by a mile. I have to admit some of them were a bit too sweet for me but I really enjoyed the crunchy outside with the soft inside. The cookies are huge so you get what you pay for. They are a bit pricey! But I'd say worth it for sure. It's like you are buying hockey pucks lol. You should definitely only be eating 1 of these every so often but I would recommend these for sure. Oh and they can in a really cool decorative box which I found dope and kept the box for awhile lol. I also love how all the cookies have weed stran names. Well, where do I begin. These were probably the most underwhelming cookies I've ever had. One cookie was basically raw, and another was so hard you'd need dental insurance just to bite it. On a brighter note, the Crunch Nugget was aptly named because it was the nugget of hope I was looking for in this order. It was edible and dare I say it had a generally non abrasive flavor. The Pump N Nut tasted like a holiday candle, but the aftertaste was as pungent as a fart on a hot elevator. The OG was mid, but my 12 year old neighbor could whip up a batch of Nestle Toll House that tastes just as good. The Pink Elephant tasted like Red Dye 40, and after eating it helped me realize why it's banned in European countries. To sum it up, these are definitely cookies that you can eat. read more
