Amazing fish sandwich with fries and gravy.
Harrison G.

Great food and even better service. If you're looking for someplace that's fancy, this isn't it. If you're looking for great food, lots of it and fantastic service, look no further. This is what I think of when I think picture a true hometown diner. From the minute we walked in the door everybody treated us like long lost friends. We were probably the only table in the restaurant who weren't regulars because they addressed everyone by name, but they didn't make us feel like outsiders. We both had fish sandwiches and fries and it was amazing. The roll was perfectly toasted and the fish was hot and delicious. The waitress came back often to refill out coffee and always with a smile and a conversation. We we absolutely be back!

Amazing food! Great prices and best if all...the nicest employees! Glad we came all the way from Oswego to enjoy it!

Wasn't a fan of the Ribeye sandwich but the Chicken Sandwich was delicious, though the chicken was a frozen patty. The place from the outside is nothing to look at but opening the door you feel like you have literally stepped back in time. Menu is fairly extensive and clearly is a well known to the locals. They seem to do a pretty good take out business. Sign on wall indicates they sell home made pie but was too full for a slice. Would definitely come back for breakfast as this clearly has the potential to be good.

A consistent good food and service diner. The food has taste. The owner very friendly. This is an old real diner with a warm rustic feel. The mushroom omelette was amazing.

The diner is in an old train car!!

Absolutely LOVED the interior here. The decor is so perfect and retro. Be warned, pretty sure it is cash only. They do have an ATM machine. Parking is in the back.

To the right is their bar area with more tables and booths on the left side. 4 stars alone based on having the best homefries in the area. Served hot with great flavor plus great chocolate milk. The Italian scramble subbed hot sausage was large and excellent. Greens were good. Veggie omelet was also large and very good. Worth a ride for breakfast or lunch. Prices were reasonable.

Struggled with rating and review and want to try again during the week or on Saturday rather than on a Sunday. We placed our order and most of our party ordered sandwiches rather than a breakfast entree only to find out 40 minutes after our order was taken the chef was no longer going to offer lunch on Sundays. This should have been indicated by wait staff at a minimum and not 40 minutes after our order was taken. Menu that was given did not indicate that breakfast was only option on a Sunday. Additionally, they were out of several of the breakfast items so now our choices were limited. Had we known sooner we could have left and gone to several other restaurants for lunch. To top it off they ran out of creamer and we were given a carton from kitchen of half and half only to have wait staff grab container. Additionally, silverware that was wrapped in napkin was dirty and there was an added secret ingredient of a long strand of dark hair on syrup dispenser mind you none of us have long dark hair. I ordered an omelette which was OK and nothing special with home fries that had so much pepper I could not eat it. The toast was good but did not go there for bread. Just very disappointed after all the glowing comments on facebook

I am up in the area a few times a year and Nicky Doodles is a always a must visit on our way home. It is an extremely easy in and out off the main road and there is always plenty of parking. Walk up to the window and order your favorite Sunday or Ice Cream Cone. They have plenty to choose from and their tem members are always smiling and east to work with. Their portions are a little of the large side so beware when you're ordering if this is just for you. Any flavor-topping I have ever ordered has always been extremely fresh-tasty. THey always to a great job here and we look forwad to this stop all the time. KUDOs to the team at Nicky Doodles.

Trust me, this was so delicious even Nicky Doodles' statue wanted a taste for himself, haha. The service was exceptional. The staff was very friendly, patient, and kind. There is inside and outside seating. Although, I decided to take the ice cream on the go to walk on the Erie Canal Trail. Let me tell you that ice cream did not even make it to the trail since it was that tasty and flavorful; I finished it right before the Erie Canal Trail.

Had talked about going several times for Wednesday wing night. Made it in the first time only to…read morefind out that they were out of wings, this was early in the evening. Tip while there are hours posted for Wing/Trivia discounted wings are available starting at 4pm. Place gets crowded on Wednesdays and would recommend going early. Something we learned by our second visit when we scored a couple of baskets of wings in the main dining area. Wings were cooked well but oregano overpowered the garlic parm wings. What was concerning to me about this visit was wait staff was made aware of food allergy to Blue Cheese but yet Blue Cheese Dressing was brought out to table in two of the baskets of wings. Wings were meaty and juicy but did not feel comfortable eating any of the buffalo wings given dressing had spilled out on wings. Did have the opportunity the following day for lunch and have to say the summerhouse sandwich was really very good. Only issue overall between both visits is wait staff is stretched very thin and things like food allergies are not addressed because they are running ragged. Wait times for ordering and getting your check tend to be long and really felt bad for staff as they truly were trying their best to keep on top of everything. Beautiful building and setting and see why this venue is a popular wedding venue. Would definitely go back for lunch as it is a great place for a girl's lunch but would probably skip the craziness that is Wing and Trivia night
