He left the truck in worse shape than he found it (left the ignition molding off, lost the fuse removal tool, and damaged the electrical system such that it would no longer hold a fuse on one circuit). He then became irrate, demanding the full amount he would normally charge for a replacement key and stated a new key could not be made until the cigarette lighter was repaired. A second locksmith, highly regarded, as well as the Ford dealership, also said they could not program a new transponder key without fixing the lighter. However, the second locksmith who came out at least did not charge anything. The third locksmith who came out had my new transponder key programmed within 20 minutes WITHOUT the lighter being fixed - and at a fraction of the cost quoted to me by the first two locksmiths. Roy will be very friendly, and I'm sure if there are no complications he can get you into your vehicle fine. But his range of knowledge is limited, and he doesn't have a strong grasp on customer service when things become dicey. If you have a simple, clear cut situation, Roy might be able to help you. For advanced issues, skip this one and find someone who is more than a key cutter.

All work and workers performing service are direct from this company, with no middlemen subcontractors. They have a physical shop in Mesquite if you need to visit. This was the 2nd service I've had with GLC and I will exclusively use them for all work in the future. By contrast, every other locksmith service I called was just some call center that dispatches subcontractors, with no physical location, no estimates for service before arrival, and so many middlemen I couldn't even tell who I was dealing with. The pictures I have posted are from his first visit about a year ago when Valet Parking jammed the key in my ignition. The second time was today after getting my truck locks punched in during an attempt to steal it. He worked on it a few hours and replaced the locks on both sides along with the ignition. I find this locksmith more convenient and works faster than a locksmith just a few blocks away from where I live. I hope I don't need future work on my locks. But if I do, I'll know who to call!

Job done: program new auto key fob and cut emergency key…read more I made sure I purchase the correct fob from Amazon. I then sent out a late-night quote request to program and cut the emergency key. In the morning I found they had responded and the price was $125 plus tax. I requested when they could do it and they offered a Time of the same day. Once accepted they sent me a text with a link that sent me to a photo of driver and job details. Driver arrived and was done within 10 minutes. Everything seems to work properly including the emergency key. Very professional. I had someone else quote $50 another person $95 but they were for the most part unresponsive when scheduling. An actual locksmith brick-and-mortar wanted $200 and I think the dealer wanted about 175 to 200. For me not having to deal with the dealership or the other clowns I find the value for the cost acceptable.

That is because, as most of us know, going to a locksmith can be quite costly. It is that way, I believe, because locksmithing is a profession that requires specialized training, licensure, and insurance. This past week I had a need to have a duplicate "smart key" fob programmed to my recently purchased new, used vehicle that came with only one fob. Against my better judgment and with the hope of saving some money, I purchased a "ready to be programmed" fob off of a popular auction website. The fob itself was noticeably lighter than the OEM fob and was considerably cheaper; like $175 cheaper. Anyhoo, I took my Chinese-made, reverse-engineered fob to Advanced Locksmith to have it programmed. Before going, I called a received a quote from Gage one of the shop's technicians. Upon my arrival, Gage promptly went to work! While in the process of attempting the programming, and after the programming failed, Gage involved another technician, Nebiat. As the efforts to program my fob met with additional failed attempts, Nebiat and Gage explained one of the pitfalls with purchasing fobs over non-OEM websites is, that sometimes the fobs are locked from being previously programmed and therefore not usable. Much to my dismay, I believed my fob to be just such a fob. With that, Nebiat offered a new fob purchase from Advanced Locksmith. One that Nebiat assured me would accept the programming. Of course, purchasing this new fob would be expensive and I was not looking forward to having to pay so much money on such short notice. Nebiat was very understanding and was kind enough to offer the fob at a discount, for my being a veteran of the armed forces. I was prepared to purchase the new fob when Nebiat offered to try the programming of my Chinese-made fob once more. As he attempted the programming, he recognized the problem to be with my truck having already programmed into its memory, the maximum number of fobs. Nebiat was then able to clear the computer's memory of programmed fobs and successfully program my cheaper fob! Yaaay!!! I was elated and grateful for Nebiat's willingness to go the extra mile and put customer service over profit. Thank you Nebiat and thank you Nebiat and Gage for giving me a great customer experience to share on this platform with my fellow Yelp*ers!!
