The restaurant boasts a very cool interior with a large and diverse menu, offering everything from wings, burgers, and pizzas to full entrees. The space itself is welcoming, featuring a cozy dining area near the bar and a separate, quieter dining area in the back. For appetizers, we shared the General Tso's chicken and the Point Judith calamari, both of which were delicious. Our party ordered a variety of main courses--the 40 clove chicken, The Tavern chicken, the bourbon steak tips, the salmon, and the pork chop--and everyone raved about the quality of their meal. Tried them for the first time because I keep hearing so much! We went for lunch, it was pretty good, but not what I expected for the praise. Maybe the dinner items are more inticing but as far as atmosphere goes it was cozy and cute. The Mac and cheese was the best part, it even had some spice. Randomly found this place when needing a spot for a large family dinner on a Tuesday. Glad we made a reservation since it was busy. Since it was a Tuesday we got a bunch off the Taco Tuesday menu. Everything we got was excellent. One HUGE negative for me was that we ordered a kids pizza for my 3 year old son. They brought everyone else's food out, and almost seemed to have forgotten about his meal. They brought it out a few minutes later, steaming hot. We let it cool for a few minutes but it was almost 7:30 by that time and he ended up burning his mouth and sobbed. We ordered the cast iron meat ball for an appetizer it was super moist it also comes with very good garlic flatbread. I had the Braised Short Rib done too perfection came with delicious carrots that were roasted the gravy was extremely tasty so happy I ordered it. They have a smallish parking lot, and I'm not 100% sure whether I could park by the apartment.... But there were no signs and it was right by the side door.... This will haunt me as an internal debate for at least a year. Echo Craft does take reservations, and and have high tops and regular tables available. The air is very focused though - if you're seated on a high top by the air vent, you may be chilly. They also have a fixed meal for "Wine Down Wednesday", but the menu changed from what was online to what was offered. They atill had the regular menu though, so all was well. The food was really good! Loved the broth in the mussle appetizer, and the cheeseburger salad is literally a cheeseburger on a salad. My cheeseburger and fries were enjoyable; I liked the slightly larger cut on my fries. Our waiter was very nice, but faster to check on how we were eating then to come back with things like drinks. During Watertown Restaurant Week, I had the pleasure of checking out Echo Craft Kitchen for the first time ever, and the food did not disappoint! For Restaurant Week, Echo offered a prix fix menu with two options for appetizers, 4 options for entrees, and 3 options for desserts. To start, I ordered the "Now Bring Us Some Fig" to drink. It was such a fun spin on a Bee's Knees with fig liqueur. It was so smooth and delicious! For an appetizer, I got the Whipped Ricotta. I have a huge ricotta cheese fan, and the addition of honey and pistachios was so tasty. I would have never thought to pair ricotta and pistachio, but I am definitely going to try to recreate this dish at home. Next up, I ordered the Wild Mushroom Ravioli. The sauce was super flavorful and savory. It was a great, cozy, fall dish and the perfect amount of food. I hope this becomes a regular menu item. Lastly, I initially ordered the Creme Brule Cheesecake, but the restaurant unfortunately ran out. However, the staff was super accommodating and allowed me to select a dessert off of their regular menu. I wound up selecting the Chocolate Ganache. The hostess told me that it was made in-house, and it was so yummy! The dessert even came with chocolate gelato, a mixed berry compote, and a little wafer with cannoli dip on the side. I've been curious to check them out, and I was impressed when I walked in at the ambiance here - the size of the space from the outside is definitely deceiving! In search of a new takeout option I decided to give Echo a try, saw them on DoorDash. I didn't have a high expectations as I know takeout generally isn't as good as dining in. When I opened the bag the first thing I saw was what I thought to be a personal cheese pizza, I thought I had the wrong order. Then I realized it was cheesy garlic bread to go with the meatball appetizer. Well let me tell you... this American restaurant is putting out better meatballs than any Italian spot around, and I'm picky when it comes to meatballs! But with that cheesy garlic bread, wow! They were large beef, veal and pork meatballs, well seasoned and covered in cheese. The texture was perfect, light and served in a fresh marinara, paired perfectly with the garlic bread, could easily be a dinner for me alone. I also had a house salad with crispy chicken. I appreciate it that they put the chicken on the side to keep the salad fresh. The tangy vinaigrette was great, I'd compare it to a mustard vinaigrette. The crispy chicken was chicken tenders for the salad which usually I prefer a breaded chicken cutlet but this was still really good, I enjoyed it. I went here for the first time on Saturday evening. There was four of us in our party. It took over 25 minutes for our drinks to come out. We received our appetizer before our cocktail. Two of us in our party received our dinners the other two sat there and watched us eat for 20 minutes before we flagged our server down to ask him to check on the remainder of our parties meals we were informed that somebody else took their dinners out to another table and then took another 20 minutes to have them get their meals. Our server reported it to the manager who never even came over to apologize. My daughter and I were very disappointed in the quality of the food and wine. We went for my daughter's birthday and had a reservation for the dining room. They put us in the bar because they said the dining room was closing and then reopened it a few minutes for other people. Although we ate light and split the chicken and cavatelli with the chop salad we had to try the Hallumi special with fig jam and house marinara. All was delicious. They did a great job renovating the inside and everything looks great. The service was good and our waitress was friendly. Unfortunately the food was not very good both times I went. It wasn't bad by any mean but just mediocre. The first time I went I had a steak that was very tough despite being requested medium rare. The burger was pretty good though. The old Daveluy's space is now Echo Craft Kitchen. The interior is very warm and welcoming. Go straight and you're in the main bar/dining room which has TVs, a bar and additional seating. Go right and there's a much quieter, large dining area of all tables. We sat in the quieter area this evening. We ordered the popcorn cauliflower with a Thai sweet & spicy sauce to start. Just looking at it as it was put on the table you knew it was cooked perfectly and was going to be delicious. And it was. It was also refreshing to have large pieces of freshly cut cauliflower used. Some of the pieces still had that raw crunch (a good thing). We got a look and whiff of the calamari app because the waitress input the wrong item. It looked and smelled wonderful. I'll have to try it next time. My fiancé got the falafel burger. It comes with uniquely shaped fries. I was told it was delicious and the tzatziki sauce fantastic. I got the rosemary garlic mashed potato pizza minus the bacon. It was very thin crust, good but needed a bit more garlic and salt. Grated cheese helped. The food is really good, but the prices are high and the service is slow. I wrote the following message directly to the restaurant: December 19th was my first time visiting Echo Craft Kitchen. My friends and I were there for trivia. We usually arrive early so that we can be served before the chaos of trivia begins. We arrived at 6:00 and the trivia area was unavailable at that time due to a party. Fine. We sat in the main dining room and ordered our meals. Among us, we ordered four burgers. One had a regular side salad, one had ordinary french fries, one had sweet potato fries, one had a caesar salad. The burgers were $18 or $19, already quite a high price for a burger, and the menu said they came with house fries or a side salad. Nowhere on the menu was there mention of upcharges for substitutions, nor did the wait staff mention it when orders were taken. Yet all four checks showed a $4.00 charge. Waitstaff told us it was for the salads and fries. Even if there is an upcharge for the sweet potato fries and caesar salad, $4.00 is excessive (most places will charge $1.50 or $2.00 to substitute fries). On top of that, even the burgers with house fries and a side salad were charged the additional $4.00. And even though we all got separate checks, there was a 20% tip added to each of our bills. When I disputed the bills, staff was unhelpful. Once we got to trivia, an employee of DJ Trivia talked to someone who refunded us a total of $10. Despite being unhappy with the service on our first visit, we decided to give it another chance. On December 26th, we arrived for trivia at 6:30. Nobody came to take our orders until 7:20. Our meals arrived after 8:00 (Note that trivia is usually over by 8:30). One of our team members ordered a second glass of wine that never came. Another ordered a hot chocolate that never came. One ordered coffee to go with her dessert and it was not hot and she was never offered a refill. Trivia was long over before we got our checks. Our waiter, Scott, was very polite and apologetic, but we were still overall unimpressed with the service at your restaurant, especially given your high prices. By the way, it is our understanding that there is supposed to be a special, reduced prices menu for trivia. We haven't seen it yet. I understand that it takes some time for the business to assess and prepare for the needs of a new event like weekly trivia, so I plan to give Echo another try. Hopefully, the third time is the charm. Otherwise, I will be eating dinner at home before trivia, and you may be lucky enough to sell me a beverage while I'm there. read more
