We had such a lovely meal and an amazing waitress, Kasey (spelling?). Let's start out with the fact that the French onion soup was some of the best we've ever had. We were shocked to learn it was a veggie broth base. Truly. We will drive for it again. I loved my butternut squash soup too. We split the crab hush puppies and those were good too. For our main meal we had the truffle mushroom grilled cheese and the mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese needed a salt add, but then it was yum. My husband was all about the grilled cheese. It was mushroom heavy so if you're a mushroom lover you've found your sandwich. We ended the meal with an affogato, cappuccino, and 3 tarts from the cafe. They were all lovely. The space was such a nice vibe. We will definitely be heading back!

Always a great experience when coming here, recently went for Valentine's Day and even as busy as they were the service was still consistently good through the evening. Got some wings to start which were crispy and deliciously tangy w/ the teriyaki sauce. Both main entrees hit the spot and we ended with a raspberry creme brûlée which fit the vibes for the night perfectly. Always a great spot summer time too, after a nice day on the lake!

At the corner reminded me a lot of At the barn, by the interior and the branding. I'm not sure if it's in my head or if they're somehow related. The best news? The food was actually very good, unlike At the barn. My friend and I stopped At the corner, after being advised by some locals, that this is the place to go for lunch in downtown Litchfield. We quickly got seated by the window. There were plenty of tasty options in the menu. I got the Heirloom Tomato & Burrata salad. My friend got the Corned Beef Reuben. If you love tomatoes as much as I do, this salad is a must! There was an assortment of cherry tomatoes the reds and the yellows. There were also slices of tomato. They were all surrounded by this super tasty homemade green sauce. There was a generous slice of bread for dipping. There was also a large ball of fried burrata. This whole thing was so filling and finger licking good. My friend's Reuben was also a winner. Reuben's can often be too salty. This was actually a bit sweet. It was generously filled with melted cheese and red cabbage slaw, between two slices of rye bread. Our lunch was super scrumptious At the corner today!

Have been hesitant to dine here given reviews and I'm so thrilled we finally tried it. The staff is super friendly and efficient. We had the corner table by the window (best seat in the house in my opinion). The cocktails were right on point and the food was delicious. The place is nice with lots of fun art. I do suggest updating some furniture and deeper floor cleaning. Definitely a great place for good food.

Had a lovely lunch with my cousins. The ambiance is charming and there is plenty of space. Service was attentive. I loved the drinks the bee honey was 10/10. Food is good maybe a little overpriced but good! The truffle fries were our favorite. The kimchi rice was also a must!

A lunch meetup with a very good friend of mine who selected this restaurant. A great choice as the service was excellent and the food was fabulous. I chose a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. For a change, the chicken was not at all dry; it was still hot and moist. My friend had a basket of fries on the side and they were pretty awesome. Yes, I stole two or three. Flavorful, crispy and hot. Very pleasant here, would return. [Review 1697 of 2024 - 101 in Connecticut - 22720 overall]

3.5 stars. This place was recommended by someone. The decor inside was cute. There is a cafe bar and a regular bar. I loved the curtains around the front door to provide privacy for diners sitting near the door. We were sat right away in front of the window. I think they forgot about us for about 10 minutes at first; the waitress came over and was nice and attentive afterwards. We got a couple drinks to start; their drinks selection was great. For my lunch, I had the Togarashi Salmon Burger; it comes with Togarashi aioli, smashed avocado, wakame seaweed salad, kimchi cucumbers, sweet gochujang glazed salmon burger on black ink milk bun. This burger was phenomenal except for the bun; the bun was super hard and broke into pieces when I was trying to bite/cut into it, maybe it's stale? Other than that, the burger and toppings were great. The fries were super crispy too. Overall, a good lunch aside from the bun and wait at the beginning. I would come back!

We took almost an hour drive on Patty's day based on their menu. We were not disappointed. Parking can be tight. Only street parking is available. Fortunately, we had an early morning reservation. Litchfield is a pretty town with cute stores. As promised, the restaurant was at the corner. We were seated quickly and had a window view. Menus were given and it was tough to make a choice. Our waitress, Casey was really sweet and good. She checked to make sure we were happy quite a bit. Hubby had the corn beef sandwich and I had the Banger's Benedict, which were both good. However, the Irish soda bread and Bailey's cheesecake were the highlight! So yummy. This was the best Irish soda bread I have ever had!! We are definitely going to return to try other delicious menu items. Definitely worth a drive to try them out

Really fantastic service and meal. We didn't have reservations, so we ended up sitting at the bar and couldn't have been more pleased. Apps: duck potstickers. FLAVORFUL and slightly spicy. Pretzels! We're amazing. Dipping sauce was a three cheese and did not disappoint. Cauliflower bites with a side of Truffalo and house made blue cheese was everyone's favorite part of the evening. Highly recommend this as an app. Drinks: espresso martinis was perfectly crafted, ice cream man was cold and fresh, and my mom had a rum runner that she loved. Meals: Champagne chicken was very flavorful, orzo was outstanding, and chicken was tender and moist. Teriyaki bowl with chicken was clean and very light. Great use of vegetables and the sauce was very good. The only thing that did not impress was the pork and shrimp fried rice. The sauce was very sweet and not what we thought it would be. The bartender was friendly, engaging, and very efficient. We can't wait to try this resturant again.

Had a wonderful day celebrating our friends birthday, starting with delicious food. I got the beet salad with sesame crusted tuna and there was nothing left on my plate. The yellow and burgundy colored beets were over a warm bed of goat cheese also accompanied by zesty mouthwatering grapefruit and fennel. By far the best salad I have ever had, truly. I also chose a chai tea latte which added to the warmth of the meal and it was so good I ordered 2. Our waitress and other waitstaff who assisted us were all so kind and friendly. The place was packed, so happy we made reservations, but it didn't stop the food from coming out in a timely manner and we were continuously attended to. And there was still plenty of seating throughout. Can't wait to go back and try the taco bar!

    Summer Shrimp Flatbread
    Thomas F.

From Cornwall to Litchfield on the way back to Cromwell we sought refuge from the oncoming storm with a stop for lunch. What a great decision that was. Found parking for our two cars right in front and were welcomed in to the cute dining establishment. Welcome must be the first rule here for front of the house. Found a table for 4 after changing [only once] because one of our party had a hearing problem. Great menu with a slew of choices. After getting our drinks [vin rosé for me] we were asked if we wanted to order then or spend some talking first. We were starved so ordered and my Summer Shrimp Flatbread was the best: chimichurri roasted shrimp, charred local corn, crumbled bacon, pico de gallo, aged provolone & garlic aioli on Roman-style flatbread. Being fully sated we skipped dessert and went back to journey home. Just saw the Chef Portraits on Facebook that were on our path to the facilities. Very interesting. Just wish this wasn't so far from home.

I'm pretty divided with this review. First I'll start with the highs: when you eat-in the food and…read morethe service is great! Between the many things to look at (including the giant fish tank) there's always something to talk about. The food was good, we both ordered tacos. They were fresh, tasty and beautifully made- it makes you wish there was 3rd taco! The fried green beans with wasabi sauce was delicious as well, and something you never see on a menu. With all of that said, there were a couple of things that threw me off. First off being that you can see right into the men's bathroom if you're looking through the fish tank. Granted it's only the hand wash area but definitely a little odd. My husband was actually able to wave at me through it. I noticed they put a tapestry up for the woman's restroom so you couldn't see through the other tank they have, so it's weird they wouldn't do the same for the men's. But mostly what was disappointing was we had gone back the next weekend for takeout, we ordered the same exact tacos and upon receiving them they weren't the same as what was ordered. Ingredients and toppings were missing and stuff was added that wasn't on the menu. I will say the pizza was great though! But we came back for the tacos and they fell very short. I'm sure we will be back, but takeout won't be an option for us unfortunately.

We live around the area kept saying to ourselves throughout the night "why haven't we been here before? We've been missing out on such good food" There seems to be a lot of seating both inside and outside so that's a plus since we were able to get seated right away without a reservation on a Friday night. (they were already pretty busy) Our waitress was so friendly and super attentive even with all the tables she had. Now on to the food! Everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully plated. You could tell that whoever is cooking genuinely cares about the food that is coming out of that kitchen. To start we ordered the Spinach Artichoke Dip w/ Garlic Parm Crostini and the Antipasto Salad. (Not pictured) Everything came out in great portions to share and even the crostinis were packed full of flavor which brought the dip up another notch. The salad was fresh, colorful and absolutely delicious. For our entree we both ordered the Steak Frites-cooked medium. Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection and the chimichurri was herby, savory and even had a little bite to it-it was phenomenal. To add to the mix the frites had parm & garlic to make them even tastier To finish, after a very long day- we knew that an affogato would just finish this meal off perfectly and we were right. It was delicious and the candied walnuts were such a nice touch to add for texture. (My husband now has a new favorite dessert) Needless to say we will absolutely be back, and more than likely bringing many others in tow to share an absolutely wonderful meal!
