My friend and I came in here for lunch a few weeks ago. It was not very busy but it was a cute little spot in town. They have a front seating area and a bar area. We ordered the beer flights and a glass of wine. Their signature cocktails are premade. The staff was friendly as assisting with our orders. The side of fries were so crunchy and good. I've seen a lot of positive Instagram content covering At the Corner and it's Chef Carlos Perez, who apparently became the executive chef around 2020. I also became aware that At The Corner is on the Wing Addicts CT Wing Trail. I had a very good experience there last weekend. I'm surprised to see that the Yelp rating is this low, and a co-worker actually told me that she hasn't been in years because she wasn't a fan. My impression is, you can throw out many of these low ratings because a lot of them precede Chef Perez's time here. I only ordered Honey Sriracha wings because I was in a bit of a hurry. I sat at the bar. Service was very friendly and efficient. The bar area was classic. The decorations included a number of famous chef paintings. So it's clear they're going for a chef-driven atmosphere. The restaurant had a nice positive vibe. The wings were meaty and had great inner and outer texture. They were well plated with pops of green on top. I prefer a saucier wing, but the glaze was flavorful. I was impressed with my experience. I will definitely return. 4.5 Stars read more

We had such a lovely meal and an amazing waitress, Kasey (spelling?). Let's start out with the fact that the French onion soup was some of the best we've ever had. We were shocked to learn it was a veggie broth base. Truly. We will drive for it again. I loved my butternut squash soup too. We split the crab hush puppies and those were good too. For our main meal we had the truffle mushroom grilled cheese and the mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese needed a salt add, but then it was yum. My husband was all about the grilled cheese. It was mushroom heavy so if you're a mushroom lover you've found your sandwich. We ended the meal with an affogato, cappuccino, and 3 tarts from the cafe. They were all lovely. Always a great experience when coming here, recently went for Valentine's Day and even as busy as they were the service was still consistently good through the evening. Got some wings to start which were crispy and deliciously tangy w/ the teriyaki sauce. We quickly got seated by the window. There were plenty of tasty options in the menu. I got the Heirloom Tomato & Burrata salad. My friend got the Corned Beef Reuben. If you love tomatoes as much as I do, this salad is a must! There was an assortment of cherry tomatoes the reds and the yellows. There were also slices of tomato. They were all surrounded by this super tasty homemade green sauce. There was a generous slice of bread for dipping. There was also a large ball of fried burrata. This whole thing was so filling and finger licking good. My friend's Reuben was also a winner. Reuben's can often be too salty. This was actually a bit sweet. Excellent, attentive service. The focaccia we ordered as a starter was delicious. I was concerned about ordering steak frites after a recent bad experience at a Lancaster, PA, restaurant (tough steak). When my order arrived, the server said the owner acknowledged the steak was a little overdone. She served it so I could eat the less done parts and brought a completely new order that was perfect and delicious. My husband's scallops also were wonderful. Good Nachos, Good drinks, Tacos are meh (not enough flavor, a little dry, and kind of expensive -- $8 for one taco) Irish Pub side is filled with some of the most incompetent, moronic bartenders I've ever seen in my life. There is no atmosphere to speak of unless you want to hear every word from every conversation. Manager with the short haircut just stands around glaring. Food looked pretty mediocre but I guess that's what to be expected around here. In short: incompetent staff, mediocre overpriced food that you could do better at home, and no ambiance. I loved the curtains around the front door to provide privacy for diners sitting near the door. We were sat right away in front of the window. I think they forgot about us for about 10 minutes at first; the waitress came over and was nice and attentive afterwards. We got a couple drinks to start; their drinks selection was great. For my lunch, I had the Togarashi Salmon Burger; it comes with Togarashi aioli, smashed avocado, wakame seaweed salad, kimchi cucumbers, sweet gochujang glazed salmon burger on black ink milk bun. This burger was phenomenal except for the bun; the bun was super hard and broke into pieces when I was trying to bite/cut into it, maybe it's stale? Lots of burgers, and as a vegetarian I was saddened to see IMPOSSIBLE BURGER as the non meat option. What, a bean patty is too hard to make? We took almost an hour drive on Patty's day based on their menu. We were not disappointed. Parking can be tight. Only street parking is available. Fortunately, we had an early morning reservation. Litchfield is a pretty town with cute stores. As promised, the restaurant was at the corner. We were seated quickly and had a window view. Menus were given and it was tough to make a choice. Our waitress, Casey was really sweet and good. She checked to make sure we were happy quite a bit. Hubby had the corn beef sandwich and I had the Banger's Benedict, which were both good. However, the Irish soda bread and Bailey's cheesecake were the highlight! So yummy. This was the best Irish soda bread I have ever had!! Really fantastic service and meal. We didn't have reservations, so we ended up sitting at the bar and couldn't have been more pleased. Apps: duck potstickers. FLAVORFUL and slightly spicy. Pretzels! We're amazing. Dipping sauce was a three cheese and did not disappoint. Cauliflower bites with a side of Truffalo and house made blue cheese was everyone's favorite part of the evening. Highly recommend this as an app. Drinks: espresso martinis was perfectly crafted, ice cream man was cold and fresh, and my mom had a rum runner that she loved. Had a wonderful day celebrating our friends birthday, starting with delicious food. I got the beet salad with sesame crusted tuna and there was nothing left on my plate. The yellow and burgundy colored beets were over a warm bed of goat cheese also accompanied by zesty mouthwatering grapefruit and fennel. By far the best salad I have ever had, truly. I also chose a chai tea latte which added to the warmth of the meal and it was so good I ordered 2. Our waitress and other waitstaff who assisted us were all so kind and friendly. The place was packed, so happy we made reservations, but it didn't stop the food from coming out in a timely manner and we were continuously attended to. We sat at the bar and where the only ones there at that point , took a while to get served , once we did other people started coming in , than we were ready to order however the bartender decided to serve everyone else at the bar before she took our order . The menu had a lot of burger and fried food . I ordered the garlic Parmesan wings and they were so dry , terrible and tasteless I could only eat 3 and that's because they were submerged in blue cheese . I was @ the corner for cappuccino (to go) I have to tell you what a disappointing experience it was. The girl in the Yale sweatshirt is not trained and unable to execute coffee drinks. I got two medium cups of warm milk (no foam) and hardly any espresso as she fumbled to split the shots she pulled from a cup (unevenly.) It's really disappointing to have to pay for this type of service. I tried to call the restaurant but nobody picked up and there is no answering service. it's a really terrible representation of your brand and unfair to guests that have to pay for a two sip and in the trash drink. Obviously little to no care is put into anything they do here ( other than carefully photographed ice cold food topped with Uber amounts of micro greens.) Just look how sloppy and unprofessional their case looks with handwritten (crossed out) signage. Center school is right up the street, you should have the kids make the signage for you in art class to go with your lackluster and not so skillfully prepared drinks and pastry display case. read more

Found parking for our two cars right in front and were welcomed in to the cute dining establishment. Welcome must be the first rule here for front of the house. Found a table for 4 after changing [only once] because one of our party had a hearing problem. Great menu with a slew of choices. After getting our drinks [vin rosé for me] we were asked if we wanted to order then or spend some talking first. We were starved so ordered and my Summer Shrimp Flatbread was the best: chimichurri roasted shrimp, charred local corn, crumbled bacon, pico de gallo, aged provolone & garlic aioli on Roman-style flatbread. Being fully sated we skipped dessert and went back to journey home. Just saw the Chef Portraits on Facebook that were on our path to the facilities. Very interesting. Went here for lunch with my wife and daughter. The service was good, friendly and attentive. The two ladies ordered hamburgers and I ordered the reuben sandwich. The ladies enjoyed their burgers but I was not impressed with my Reuben. Could hardly tell there was anything in between the two slices of bread. One of the slices of bread was slightly burnt as well. I ate the sandwich but did not enjoy. For the price I expected much better than I got. Went to dinner with friends and family on a Thursday night. It was not too busy, so we got seated immediately. I asked for a mocktail and got a kind of pina colada. It was like a kids drink. Clearly mocktails are not something they have considered. My husband got the Brussels sprouts appetizer, which was insanely good. For me, it went downhill from there. I had salmon on what looked like an oversized wood chip and was overdone. The fingerling potatoes, in the other hand were underdone and a few had big brown spots. The broccoli was served like a fallen tree. It was ginormous, tough and had no seasoning. The portions were ridiculous- way too much food. The bill was as big as the portions. Updating a review from many years ago - we visited last night and I don't know what's happened to this place. My husband ordered a burger ($14) with cheddar cheese and fries. The fries were not included ($10) and they charged $2 extra for the cheese - so $26 in total. Seriously? The portion on the Primadonna salad is smaller than it used to be but same price of $15. Seems like it was cut down to 1/2 of what it used to be. Cauliflower bites still the same portion - these are excellent and worth the price of $15. Overall, not anything to write home about. Everything just needed.... something. The dishes were far too salty across the board. The charcuterie needed acid/sweetness, vinegar or something. It was all fat and salt, a little creaminess from the mozz. The garlic parmesan oil tasted like...oil. I couldn't even taste the garlic, and the parm didn't even have any distinguishable flavor to it. The miso brussels were good, but again too salty. There needed to be way less bacon and more apples. The miso added umami, there wasn't a need for that many pieces of bacon. We had asked if the cauliflower could be tossed in any other sauce, as there were so many more options for wings. We were told that they would complain in the kitchen if any special requests were made....odd, but okay. It's just tossing a fried dish in a sauce, no different than buffalo or sweet chili? If you have the sauces, what does it matter?? We were allowed to get general tso sauce on the side. A silly distinction but probably for the better as the cauliflower stayed crunchy. The only dish that I have no complaints about was the meatballs. The service was also mediocre. Dishes weren't cleared and we were left sitting for quite some time. A great find in a fairly under explored corner of CT. If you're up in Litchfield county, this is definitely a place worth checking out. We popped in for a late lunch on a Sunday of a long weekend. The place was packed and we were lucky to get a table just before the line went to the door again. Our meals were an appetizer pretzel order, a Turkey Cobb salad for the wife, a pilgrim (thanksgiving) sandwich for me with a side of truffle fries, and a grilled cheese kids order split between the kids. The wife also got a Pumpkin martini, I got a Bloody Mary and the kids had juice. Everything was fantastic and the truffle fries I got were especially tasty. The drinks were spot on and I even liked the pumpkin martini flavor (I am not normally a pumpkin spice fan at all). The only knock I would have is the bread choice for the kids grilled cheese was all wrong in they used a thick slice white bread or Texas toast that was too big for the little ones hands. It appears they also have a large amount of pastries and baked goods available if that's your interest. I would recommend checking this place out if you're in the area. First and last time I came to this place. I was visiting Litchfield with the family and decided to have lunch here. Two of the four orders came wrong. We passed over one, but mine was disastrous. I ordered my burger well done, it came raw, I noticed it after a couple bites. So, I asked the waitress to correct my order, she took the plate back without saying a word, came back 10 minutes later with the same chewed burger, turned into a piece of charcoal, with the same bacon and the egg dried, no toppings, no sauce. Incredibly, what they did was breaking apart the bitten burger, re-cook it, put it back together so messy, and brought it back to me like that. AN INSULT. The waitress never even said sorry. Even from the beginning she didn't make sure how everything was, and of course never refilled the water. We asked to talk to the manager, and they sent us a teenage girl who was probably not even 18. She tried to absurdly justify why they made that mess with the hamburger, instead of offering an apology or trying to make it up. And just like that, lunch was ruined. After a hike at Topsmead Trail, a friend and I were starving, and this place was right "At the Corner" in Litchfields green. Dressed with beautiful yellow window flowers on a brick building, it caught our eye. Inside was very clean and sleek. For lunch, we wanted to keep it "healthy" but needed something a little more than just salad. And low and behold on the menu, the spring peach Brussels sprouts stood out. The crispy fried brussel sprouts were made with candied bacon, sweet peaches, crumbled goat cheese, Maple miso, and a truffle glaze. These were honestly the best Brussels sprouts I ever had! The flavors together were made for a foodies palette, and I still can't stop thinking about them! They were truly to die for and absolutely delicious. I also really enjoyed my antipasto salad. It was huge and filled with so many goodies! Salami, ham, pepperoni, provolone, fresh mozzarella balls, roasted peppers, red onion, cherry tomatoes, olives, and it was tossed in a honey balsamic vinaigrette. I ended up taking half home. Well @ the corner has proven me wrong. This is a great restaurant in downtown Litchfield. Friendly and professional staff, great location in a quaint downtown and then the food! Started with the Texas stuffed Jalapeños appetizer that was delicious so much flavor yet not spicy hot for jalapeño peppers. Then on to the main dish a special for the night. Firecracker swordfish! A generous grilled piece of fresh fish with a brown refried rice topped with a mango salsa and a firecracker glaze sauce. Outstanding! When we got there the place was empty but were told it might be hard to accommodate us since we didn't have reservations. In the past few years we have enjoyed this restaurant in Litchfield. However, today was a very disappointing experience. We debated as to which restaurant to go to, but I insisted on The Corner. We arrived at 4:05, the waitress gave us our menus, we quickly ordered fish and chips and a hamburger. After a few minutes our waitress returned and said she didn't realize it was after 4:00 and had given us the lunch menu instead of the dinner menu and therefore couldn't fulfill our order. We were surprised as it was only a few minutes beyond 4:00 but we went ahead and looked at the menu. Shockingly, the same meals (except now they included fries) we originally ordered were now $10 and $13 more. We were so taken aback by this, but not wanting to make a scene, we decided to go ahead with the order. As we processed it, we were very uneasy about it as it was her error. To top it off the fish in the fish and chips we ordered was heavily breaded and very tasteless. Basically, we strongly felt the waitress should have made an exception and honored our first order. It was her doing and our expectations had been set. This seemed like such a basic goodwill gesture in providing good customer service and ensuring a satisfactory experience. Instead, we were left with such a sour taste, it's unlikely we'll return to The Corner. It's just a matter of principle. I sure hope the manager and/or management will read this and train their staff to handle such a simple mistake more appropriately next time. read more

I do not know how to write this review. The food is amazing but the front end service is NOT good. We drove 45 minutes based on recommendations for the food. The appetizers were ABSOLUTELY delicious. However, no one ever came to take our entree order even though we had been seated over an hour and 15 minutes. The hostess was the one who got us seated and then 30 minutes later took our appetizer and drink orders. When the food came out 30 minutes later we mentioned how we had not put in entrees and the hostess said she spoke to our waitress and she would be right over. However, she never came. After a good portion of time passed the hostess came back to collect the plates we asked for the check and let her know we still had no idea who our waitress was. She made a joke, "oh that's good because so many people have come over. " We let her know that she was in fact the only one who was had been to our table( she sat us, took our app order and then ran the food out to us. ) I really do hope they get their front end figured out because the food is SO good.
