And you'll find that he's a guy who prides himself on the quality of his product. Third, his prices are fair. He's not a person who's going to rip you off. If you don't believe me, look at the number of reviews. A lot of contractors these days will pay people to write review for them. As a result, you'll see contractors with hundreds of reviews. I called on Saturday and they were able to come on Tuesday which I appreciated, because the new A/C…read moreis being installed on Thursday. Malik cleaned our ducts and vents and sanitized them. Sanitizing the individual duct/vents was added ($25 extra for each vent) to the originally quoted package which he said only includes sanitizing the main duct, but I wanted that done after seeing the mold build-up on the vent registers. He also helped taking out the moldy vent registers because it's probably better just to replace than trying to clean them. Overall, glad we did the cleaning, though I wish it was clearly stated the vent sanitizing was NOT included in the quote, because the quote just said "...air duct cleaning includes up to 15 supply vents and returns, two main duct per single unit, sanitizer (to prevent mold growth)..." A little update: Later through the check-in with the owner, the owner Nick answered all my questions, told me how to maintain, and that we won't need to do a cleaning again until a few years later. Also after hearing my concern about the mold on the registers, he said the registers needed to be thrown out and replaced, but the ducts behind the vents themselves didn't have mold so didn't have to be sanitized, even though it was my request to sanitize them. I was told main duct/trunk sanitization is what they usually do and individual duct/vent sanitization is not a recommended practice actually. He offered to refund the extra charge for the vent sanitization that I didn't need. I appreciate that honesty and accountability.

Cancelled on me the first day and came three hours late the next day…read more To clean my dryer vent the guy on the phone said it would be a 100-200 bucks. Turns out they charge $30 a foot and my bill was about $750. They were at least supposed to quote me before doing the work but they didn't. I spoke up and they apologized for not showing me the quote first and charged me 400. I paid. And now that I'm playing it out in my mind, I feel like this might have been all by design. I think I was just played big time.

As for those who read the bad comments on his page, need to be upfront with expectations. When meeting Hamid and discussing what I would like done which was installing a ceiling fan, adding outlets to areas for microwave and dishwasher, installing recessed lights (14) and 3 ceiling lights, and upgradings from a small panel to a much larger one, and lastly going from 100 amps to 200 service, I knew it was a big job and it would take some time. When he tells you to work with him, then that's what you do if you're prepared for it. We were upfront with what we needed and so was he. Other electric companies put you on hold with an answering service. I called him on a Sunday while doing a light fixture on my own and he picked up. No waiting, quick response to text or call. He also advised and taught me a few things. This means that he is the type to Wal you through it if you can tackle a small task and save money. Not to mention the quality of work, A+. He took less time than I expected and he found other problems that needed to be addressed. By the way, getting the written estimate didn't take days either which is a very big plus. He's also considerate. When a contractor says he'll be there at, for example, 9 am what usually happens? You wait and wait and wait. Not with Lou. He comes on time and if he is running late, he calls to apologize and tell you how late he'll be. The truth is that contractors budget time for a job and sometimes when they get there discover it needs more time. So they can get delayed. Lou doesn't leave you hanging in the wind - he calls to say he's sorry and this is now when he'll be to you. He appreciates your business and doesn't abuse your time. Isn't this great? So Lou Zimick gets a As Good As It Gets from me for being a terrific electrician with excellent customer service.
