With the assistance of Yelp, I found this establishment, which works on connecting the electricity from the house to our newly installed hot tub and replacing an outlet that was shorted in the kitchen. My partner attempted these, as he's knowledgeable, but they were better left in the hands of the expert. Within a few minutes, the owner of CA Fleming Electric reached out to me and made arrangements for a visit on Jun 20. Upon arrival, Casey mapped out the project for us. On this visit, he fixed the kitchen outlet and gave us a quote for electrical work on the hot tub installation. On his return visit July 8, he was able to add and make necessary changes under the deck area for it to be successfully working. Casey was very respectful and friendly. DO NOT pay this man any money up front. He came to my home to give me a quote to run an electrical line from the basement to the attic to supply electricity to an OUTLET. He said the job would take 5 hours and he would have to break the wall in my dining room to run the line which would cost $1350 plus an initial $175 consultation fee and said 1/2 the funds were due upfront so I paid him $700. Upon consultation, he noted there was an electrical box already sitting 2ft from the outlet and said if I can run a line from this box to the outlet I will only charge $175 consultation fee since there's not much work involved. He returned with a worker and was able to connect to the box next to the outlet, it took him a little over an hour to TRACE the line from the basement to the box, without have to break walls and run a hard line from the basement. He then charged me $905 and ended up requesting an I became upset. This is not what he promise. I asked him for a breakdown of what he's charging for, he said he charges for a minimum of 2.5 hours plus he needed an extra man (which he also charged for) for the job so the work was shared and both of them had to be paid and he's charging for materials?!?? There were no materials involved except that he relaxed the sockets. I did not pay him the extra $205 because to run a simple electrical line from a nearby box to an outlet does not cost $700! DO NOT pay the contractors any monies upfront. If they are legit and have a business, they should have the funds to cover the job and collect after the work is finished. read more

1. Did not read part of the job and decided to ignore even after it was reminded to him. To add insult to the injury, he insisted he was doing me a favor on this (a 5min task), even after he himself apologized for having misunderstood. 2. Asked for 50% upfront two days prior to the appointment (on a $200 job!) which was not what we agreed upon when confirming the job. 3. Complained about working in the attic, asking me ceiling height and being a snob to the job I had in general, telling me he was doing me a favor on my $200 job instead of going after $40K jobs and saying that Secaucus was out of his way, even though he (falsely apparently) advertises he covers areas much further than that. Casey and crew are reliable, professional, efficient and their work is top-notch. I live in Hoboken and have used them a few times for everything from replacing the halogens under the cabinets with LEDs (if you're still using halogens, you're nuts...the difference is night and day)...to installing a vent/fan in the bathroom...to installing LEDs in the bathroom ceiling. Couple other things to keep in mind... - Casey is a creative guy...so ask him for suggestions regarding other things you can do in your home. I had an issue with a chandelier and asked him to add it to the list for the next time he was here. Instead, he let me know he was in the area and asked if I wanted him to stop by. The issue was handled within the hour. Come on...when does that ever happen??? - Remember the 80's John Cusack movie "The Sure Thing" when the character is taking about naming a baby and says, "Nick is a great name...Nick is the kind of guy you can have a beer with."
