Came here recently with a friend for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I'm not always a fan of AYCE sushi because I'm kind of a sushi snob, and quality definitely matters to me lol. But I have to say, this place does AYCE really well. Everything is ordered through a tablet, which makes it easy to keep track of what you've ordered. I also like that they offer a light rice option, and most of their rolls only come with 4 pieces. That way you're not stuck eating a huge roll and can try a lot more variety. The service was friendly, and the food came out surprisingly fast throughout the meal. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you're looking for AYCE sushi in the SGV, I think this spot takes the crown. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm craving all you can eat sushi, we ordered the regular option btw. read more

Amazing value for the quality of sushi here! Definitely one of the better AYCE places in the SGV. Service is prompt, with a table side tablet to order for convenience. Even with a busy Sunday dinner service, it's a very cozy and relaxed space to eat. They give 2 hours to eat, which is more than enough time to explore the various options. Definitely worth coming to try! read more

RATING: 3.5/5 STARS This place has been on my to try list for a while. Decided to come with a group of eight for a birthday party. Two people in our party decided to do à la carte so we had to sit separately. However, instead of sitting us at two separate tables next to each other, they spaced us out by multiple tables, making it impossible to talk and enjoy our meal together. I do understand that they were worried that the AYCE table would share their food with them, but multiple tables over seemed excessive. Anyways, the sushi was fresh and the salmon and yellowtail were our favorites. They did have a variety of sushi and side options and I did like how we could order on the tablet at the table. The servers were pretty quick and friendly, and our experience overall was decent. read more

I'm a big fan of Eat's Sushi's a la carte location in Costa Mesa so I was excited to try their AYCE location. The restaurant was spacious and clean, and I liked that you could order either on the tablet or with a paper menu. We went with the premium AYCE. The fish was fresh, the rice texture was great, and I loved that you could order the nigiri with less rice. Our favorites were the scallop, halibut, and pepper salmon. Everything was good but I do wish they had a bigger selection of nigiri. I also liked that the rolls come in 4 pieces instead of 8 so it's easier to try more without getting full too fast. I'd probably skip the carpaccio though since it was completely drowned in truffle oil and that was pretty much all I could taste. The service could've been a little more attentive but overall I'd recommend it if you're looking for simple quality nigiri! read more

I came here for Saturday lunch and was seated right away, which was a great start to the experience. Service was excellent! Thanks Vincent and our other servers, who were attentive, communicative, and always made sure we had everything we needed. Ordering is done through an iPad, where you can place orders in timed rounds before submitting the next one. It was simple and easy to use. The food came out pretty fast. The quality of the fish was excellent. We ordered a lot of sashimi, and everyone's favorite was the peppered salmon (seared salmon with pepper and a bit of chili oil). It melts in your mouth! We loved it so much that we ordered 30+ pieces every round. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely come back. Even the bathrooms were clean and nice, which was a nice bonus! read more

The carpaccio and the soft shelled crab were the best things they offered on the menu. The carpaccio was quite fragrant due to ponzu and truffle oil. The Salmon Blue Crab was also really good--it's like a tuna stuffed in fatty salmon and you could eat so much of it without feeling sick after! The soft shelled crab was crispy and light--we were sad it was only one person per order. The rest of the specialty rolls were ok but they felt pretty standard. Service was quick and staff was nice. It's kind of difficult these days to find a good AYCE sushi spot, but this place has quickly become our go to. Their selection of appetizer and rolls is very extensive and each item is truly delicious. The price point is also not bad at all considering how everything is so expensive these days. I love that they have a tablet now at the table, where you order what you want and it'll show up at your table within minutes. The restaurant is clean and well kept. The servers are all very friendly and nice as well. You can tell that the food is made freshly and it's all high-quality. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you have a big appetite and you want some sushi. read more

What a hidden gem in Alhambra! I don't usually go to AYCE sushi places and I don't think I could eat enough to justify the cost but I am glad that I did this time. I did notice their lunch ayce was only $29.99 which is not bad at all. The rules for all you can eat here is you get two hours to order three rounds with unlimited sushi. At first, I was worried that three rounds is kind of limited but I guess I just have to order a lot every time. But one could not waste food as they charge $1 for each piece you do not eat. I did order everything I want in my first round. They ran out of yellowtail collar so I got the grilled salmon collar instead. All the sushi was fresh and delicious. They really don't give you a lot of sushi rice and instead a lot of fish. This is really great value! The funny thing was I really enjoyed the avocado rolls as the avocado was really buttery. The grilled salmon collar was crisp outside and soft inside and especially tasty with the sauce. I was really bumped that I only have appetite for one round and I was full. I really think this place has quality fish and offers good value of ayce sushi. I will definitely come back when I feel like I have enough appetite for ayce sushi. read more

We got to Eat's around 7pm on a Tuesday night and we were seated pretty quickly. We were seated at a larger table for a party of 4 and had plenty of space to order. I love that Eat's doesn't have a limit on the pieces of nigiri ordered per round. Fish and rice portions were good too! They also have a good mix of cooked foods like gyoza and tempura! First time here with my family and our experience here was not that good. Not that good because we ordered about 8-10 orders of sushi and it took at least 15-20mins for each order to come out and on our table. It just kind of took a while and we weren't even halfway with our list of orders. But, besides that "long waiting" part. The sushi's we ate were still very delicious and I would highly recommend this place for anyone who loves to eat some good sushi. Our servers were very helpful on what sushi is good to try and some Customer Favs. Ambiance here was nice and felt like I was in Japan again. read more

This is a new restaurant on Main and so we had to give it a try. The price for AYCE was so affordable with the amount of selection you get. We had the regular AYCE and it looks like you have 3 rounds to order. We only made it to round 2 anyway. The interior was well designed and felt like we were transported into a little section of Japan. The servers were very attentive and all the food came out very quickly. Everything was delicious and I love how the rolls are only 4-5 pieces. We mainly ordered sushi, but their hand rolls were good, their garlic edamame was really good and I also enjoyed their Hamachi collar. I was also surprised to find their yellow sushi to be very fresh and sweet. Highly recommend this place and would suggest coming in between rush hour so that you can be seated quickly. We found parking in the structure next to Starbucks on main and it was a short walk to the restaurant. read more

Food is always good here, Samantha was our server today and her demeanor is exceptionally friendly and bubbly. Felt welcomed all over again even though we come here almost monthly. New kiosk help make ordering more streamlined (and bless for the photos on the kiosk that tell you what you're looking at rather than looking at an ordering sheet and a menu back and forth). Don't forget to check-in if you stop by, they're currently doing a promotion to get a free soda. Will be back again for the quick and responsive service and the awesome selection of food. read more

This is my go to AYCE sushi spot right now. Fish-- usually very fresh. Occassionally we got a few less fresh fish, especially on weekdays. Quality is great for the price. They have weekday lunch special, and weekday night special now. Kids prices determined by height. My 9 year old is full price now. My 7 year old is $19.99 weekend dinner. Sushi doesn't have too much rice. They have some good no rice rolls. Service is usually good for an AYCE. They sometimes forget the items or bring the wrong ones, but it is compariable, or a little bit bettee compared to similar restaurants. read more

Wow first time trying after passing by this place! We had to use the waitlist tracker and it lets us check our line in the yelp app. It was a Sunday night so kind of busy but also not everyone in our party arrived yet. Once we got in, the place was very nice, the decorations were very beautiful near the front. Our table was near the back on the left side and we got busy ordering the AYCE menu! Unfortunately my son was too tall and we had to pay half price for him, but he had a few bites of rice and teriyaki chicken... I got almost everything I wanted to try! Amazing: carpaccio (all), peppered nigiri, nonspicy no rice rolls, shrimp tempura, baked mussels, karage OK: the baked rolls, veggie tempura (mostly root vegetables), teriyaki chicken, katsu chicken, bulgolgi It was quite dark where we sat, the place looked very nice but I think the side we were on seemed like it needed more light. read more

While I was at work tonight, my wife called and said we were going to eat at Eat's AYCE Sushi. I finished everything and am eager to go to the restaurant. We used the device to order all of the food items and checked to see if we could get a complimentary can of soda when we checked in. Cindy, our server, assists us. I show her that we received three cans of sodas when we checked in. I didn't know that I had only checked in three phones, even though I thought I had shown her four. I then questioned her about the fourth can of soda. I only check three phones, she remarked, not in a good way. She humiliated us for the stupid can of soda and went back to complain about us to her manager and coworkers! Her voice was so loud that even we were sitting far away, and she was complaining about us. The manager came over and spoke with me about the incident, and I complained to the manager because for the stupid can of soda she made a big deal out of it and complain about us...I check in my fourth phone to the manager. Even though we used the device to order a lot of food, half of it never showed up. When I asked the different server, she suggested that I place another order, which I did, but half of it still hadn't arrived. This will be our last dinner here because the dinner turns out to be very disappointing. JR, your employee Cindy is a terrible server who lacks customer service skills. Rather than making customers happy, she makes them upset to the point where they do not want to dine here again. You must take action! read more

4 stars for the food & 3 stars for the service Dinner on weekday ($42 including tax) Came Tuesday around 6:30 & we got seated right away. The sushi was fresh & the interior is so pretty. It was aesthetic & looked clean. Our favorite was the salmon & carpaccio. I also like their hand rolls, not too much rice & good amount of fish. The lady that was serving us was a bit rude or maybe just blunt. She had a straight face while interacting with us & just felt off putting as we spoke to her politely. Maybe having a bad day or just didn't like us. On the first round, we got a few items and we waited about 10-15 minutes until a different server asked if we wanted to order more but we let him know we were still waiting on our nigiri sushi we didn't receive yet. It accidentally was not put in, but wasn't a big deal. A good amount of sushi had a truffle oil taste to me. Review is a bit overdue as I dined in on 01/28/26. 5/5 for their service and the salmon nigiri, spicy tuna crispy rice, yellowtail collar, salmon collar, and baked green mussel. I think you're good to go getting the regular set, my least favorite pieces were the premium sashimi items. Salmon nigiri is definitely the top item here, I was not a fan of the pepper tuna and pepper salmon as it felt like the pepper specks were too large and overpowering for the seared fish. Bathroom was clean too, and I was visiting every 15 minutes or so because I got full during the first round. Pretty spacious in the restaurant, ambience is casual and unpretentious. I parked in the neighborhood and was able to find a spot quickly. read more

Oh wow, The speed of service is crazy. Our order rolled out very fast. They chefs and food runners are really moving, Usually there would a delay but as soon as they took our list the plates really pile up. My server is on point too, she rolled up with napkins before I needed them. ( I hate when you have to ask for more and they take forever to get some) Inside it's well lit at the tables, and pretty spacious (can't say the same for parking) read more

Brought our nephew who spends most summers in Russia. He was just promoted at his job at their local news station and we thought we would celebrate. He doesn't like any fruits but was astounded at the amount of different options and ingredients here at EATS. We got several rolls for our first round and knew that was enough, we couldn't do two rounds. One of our favorite parts was the music playlist. Overall, not sure I'll be back anytime soon. Fine as a last resort if nothing else is open, but wouldn't go out of my way.

Pricing is so reasonable and most of the sushi are $9+. Such a steal! Staff was friendly and welcoming. I used my SGV Food Passport and redeemed a free salmon avocado roll (or California Roll). What a deal! It came with 12 mini rolls packed with salmon and avocado. The salmon was so fresh and delicious! This is one of my favorite rolls there so glad I got it free! I also got the Unagi Sushi. It consisted of 12 mini eel rolls. It was stuffed with eel and packed with flavor. It tasted so yummy and fresh. Definitely one of my favorites! My mom and late dad knew the previous owner, Yamada-san, before I was born. I've introduced many of my friends to Yama Seafood over the years, and my friends and I would often come here after school to get sushi. Walking in here still brings back a lot of memories--especially from the days when you could enter directly from the street. In my opinion, Yama Seafood has some of the freshest fish and best selections in the area. There have been many times when I've purchased regular bluefin here and had friends think it was actually bluefin chu-toro because the quality was that good. My usual fish purchases are bluefin chu-toro, regular bluefin, salmon, Hokkaido scallops, and yellowtail. I also almost always grab a pack of California rolls, tamagoyaki, and ikura (salmon roe) to go with the fish. For the quality and selection of the fish, I would easily give Yama Seafood 5 stars. However, I'm not nearly as fond of the new ownership and management. I really preferred the feeling and customer service of the old Yama Seafood. Someone else in the reviews mentioned feeling the same way, and I completely understand where they're coming from. The old way was more personal. Yes, sometimes orders took a while because Yama-san himself was cutting and preparing the orders, but you knew who you were dealing with. If I had a question, I could ask Yama directly. If he wasn't available, I could ask the store manager, and they could get an answer from Yama. There was a direct connection between the customer and the person making the decisions. Now, unfortunately, it feels like Yama Seafood is being run like a corporation--100000%. The business expanded very quickly after the purchase, and it has become much more difficult to communicate with the actual decision-maker or owner. I was given the email addresses of the "boss" by the manager, and I've sent multiple emails but have never received a response. That's probably my biggest disappointment with the new management. Regardless of how a company is structured or who owns it, I think basic customer communication is important. When a longtime customer takes the time to reach out with a question or concern, especially after being directed to contact the person in charge, a simple response would go a long way. Maybe the new ownership simply has a different philosophy about customer service, or perhaps the business structure has changed significantly. Whatever the reason, the personal feeling that Yama Seafood used to have is unfortunately missing. That said, the fish quality and selection are still excellent, and that's the main reason I'm giving Yama Seafood 4 stars. I've been coming here for more than 25 years, and I genuinely want to see the business continue to do well. If the new management could improve its customer service--especially something as simple as responding to emails from longtime customers--I would have no hesitation giving this place 5 stars. The product is already there. It's the customer service and communication that need some work. And honestly, I don't care if the owners respond to this review just to "show face" on Yelp. I'm not looking for a public response or an apology. Just reply to the emails from your customers. Simple as that.

I had my 2nd visit today. I arrived around 12:30. Ordered miso soup, dragon roll, salmon, yellow tail and unagi nigiri. The fish was okay. Didn't knock me out but it wasn't bad. I also ordered 1 salmon skin and 1 unagi hand roll. (which I also ordered on my previous visit). Last time the salmon skin hand roll had the traditional conical shape. The other one was a straight cylinder (I just thought it wasn't made carefully.... turns out this was intentional....apparently some new-fangled hand roll design) which when I tried to eat it vertically like every other hand roll I've ever had, the ingredients all squeezed out the bottom. Today I was delivered 2 cylinders and I learned that this is the "new design" and they don't have the right nori paper to do a traditional conical roll....(so I didn't order another one....). They also mistakenly brought me 2 salmon skin rolls instead of what I ordered. I was pretty full when I ordered my 2nd round. I was hoping to enjoy some more eel and avocado, more shrimp tempura in a roll....so I ordered a caterpillar roll and another dragon roll (or something similar....) along with a 2nd bowl of miso soup and one each tako & seared albacore nigiri. The albacore was okay. The tako was good. The caterpillar roll was a huge disappointment, because of course my goal is not to fill up on too much RICE and also SURIMI - I usually scour menus for rolls that contain neither. On my first visit the surimi portions were small enough not to bug me....but this roll was little but rice and surimi. There was barely the equivalent of 2 pieces of eel nigiri inside (I removed the tiny pieces, ate them and left piles of rice & surimi behind after filling up on one or two non-dissected pieces). The avocado slices on top were too thin for my taste (avocado is one of my favorite ingredients....doling it out too thin is a pet peeve of mine recalling the famous quote "A painting of a rice cake does not satisfy hunger" -which Vic the Bric used to repeated to Lamar Odom....) I scraped the painted on avocado slices and ate those too. Next time I'll simply order more eel nigiri and an "avocado salad" and create my own perfect combinations and portion sizes. I really should (and do) know better than to gamble my precious stomach space on some rolls, which are usually the bain of the existence of the smart AYCE sushi aficionado (I'm a bit out of practice). Live and learn. I'm still looking forward to my next visit....(and I'm still full, hours later....) (p.s. the service is good, too oh and btw the paper marking menu they gave me today was white paper - way better than yellow, so that's good!) read more

This was my first time trying Eats AYCE Sushi, and it definitely lived up to the hype. Even though we went with the standard AYCE menu instead of the premium option, there were still plenty of choices to enjoy. The regular menu had a great variety of sushi rolls, nigiri, hand rolls, appetizers, and hot dishes, so we never felt limited, but there is nothing that made this place feel better than the other AYCEs Everything we ordered came out fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The fish tasted fresh, the rice was perfectly seasoned, and every dish arrived quickly. I was impressed by how consistent the quality was throughout the entire meal. I recently dined at Eat's Ayce Sushi and I had a pleasant experience. The seafood was fresh and I especially enjoyed the salmon, yellowtail, and pepper salmon. However, I found the sushi to have a bigger amount of rice when compared to other AYCE sushi spots. I also ordered the salmon skin salad, which was good, but there was some confusion with the dressing. The menu listed ponzu, but mine came with a homemade ginger dressing instead, which is what their house salad has. While the flavor was fine, I wish the salmon skin could have been crispier. I enjoyed the Pink Lady (no rice roll) and the portions on their rolls were great! You could definitely try a couple of different ones without feeling overwhelmed. The service was excellent--our servers were very attentive, checking on us every 15 minutes or so. I had the chance to visit on a rare rainy day in Southern California, so the restaurant wasn't too crowded. Our group of 14 was seated quickly, and the food came out super fast. We could barely keep up with eating, and the table got a little cramped. For the AYCE, you're allowed two rounds of ordering, so I recommend starting with fewer items in the first round. If you order from the Premium Menu, prioritize those items and wait for them to come out before ordering more. The sashimi quality was fantastic--definitely on par with higher-end Japanese restaurants. I particularly loved the scallops and sweet shrimp, which were incredibly delicious. Had an amazing experience at Eats AYCE Sushi in Alhambra! The food was fresh, delicious, and came out quickly throughout the entire meal. There was a great variety of sushi rolls, appetizers, and everything we ordered was excellent. A special shoutout to our server, Lina, who provided exceptional service from start to finish. He was friendly, attentive, and always made sure our table had everything we needed. His positive attitude, quick service, and attention to detail made our dining experience even better. Such a great experience at Eats AYCE! First off, the space is gorgeous. The interior is modern, clean, and just a really nice place to enjoy a meal. The fish quality was also impressive--everything we ordered tasted fresh, and you can definitely tell they don't cut corners. The service really made the experience though. Huge shoutout to Lin for taking such great care of us! He was so friendly, attentive, and always checked in at the perfect times without making us feel rushed. Great service honestly goes a long way, and he made our dinner even better! Also, parking was super convenient with parking structures nearby on Main Street. The $49.99 includes an extra round of premium items like uni, toro, and specialty rolls -- definitely worth it if you want a little more variety and quality. This visit was on the weekend, so prices were slightly higher. Regular pricing is $39.99, while Premium is $48.99. One great perk is that you can mix Regular and Premium orders--my partner and I each chose one, allowing us to sample more varieties for solid value!
