Sashimi quality was decent, some were a bit too mushy for my liking. Service was super quick, parking was easy to find since there's a lot, and the inside of the restaurant was cozy. Daiki to the rescue! Plans for my daughter's birthday fell through this evening, and we luckily stumbled upon Daiki restaurant. At around 5:45 pm, they were already busy but we were able to grab a table for 3. My daughter was in the mood for some fried appetizers, so we grabbed a couple, along with rolls and sashimi to share. When you go to a sushi restaurant, I feel like it is either grubby or good quality sushi. What I liked about Daiki was that it was a good mix between both. Sashimi for 1 comes with a variety of sashimi, mostly in 3 pieces, which was perfect for us. Good quality sashimi in generous portions. We also enjoyed their rolls and appetizers. Service was quick and friendly. The place is cozy and clean, and has easy parking. They offer different daily specials for different days of the week. Unfortunately, this place was just okay for me. I came with a friend after a workout at LA Fitness. We originally had another spot in mind, but since they were closing, we ended up here instead. I wouldn't go so far as to call myself a sushi snob, but I do care about quality. With that said, I'm not sure this spot quite delivered. The fish was passable, but nothing stood out. Since it was a Sunday evening, we took advantage of the $1 beers and other Sunday deals which is $2/piece tuna and $4/piece for toro. Honestly, I'm not sure the toro really tasted like toro because it didn't give me that same wow factor I usually get from it elsewhere. We also ordered the Love Roll (I'm a sucker for heart-shaped things), the Super Philly Roll, and a Spicy Tuna Handroll. The spicy tuna handroll and the fatty tuna sushi, in particular, were underwhelming. All in all, it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't memorable either. I'd only come back if a friend really wanted to go; otherwise, I'd prefer to get my sushi fix elsewhere. Service overall was good. They both come with miso soup, salad, and a bowl of white rice (not sushi rice). The sashimi was maguro, sake & yellowtail. The sushi (sashimi with rice) was also maguro, sake & yellowtail. We also ordered an Alaska roll (salmon & avocado). All of it was tasty, not an overpowering flavor, but just right. It's not the best sushi experience around, but it's definitely good for a weekday lunch. The wait staff was friendly and quick to take and deliver our order. Ambiance: pretty empty for lunch at 1pm on a Saturday. Extremely warm, felt like the AC was not on. Service: though the restaurant was nearly empty, very hard to wave down the one waiter because he was too busy making conversation with the chefs. He conveyed a very "IDGAF" attitude during the entire lunch service. In the process of taking down our order, he would be mumbling a lot. Even in the paying process, we were asking about payment options, and he would respond in mandarin but prior, he was talking to us in English. Food: The sushi and sashimi were not authentic. The sushi rice was not seasoned with rice vinegar. The sashimi slices were inconsistent in thickness and some pieces almost had a bite of frost because either it sat directly on the ice for too long, or it wasn't completely defrosted. The premium sushi boat was about $95, which I felt was steep pricing that was not justified by the contents. Overall, due to the poor service and lack of quality in the food, I do not recommend coming here if you are looking for more authentic Japanese food. read more

My go to order is the Combination since you can select any 3 items on the list for only $21.95 for dinner! I always choose Sashimi (5 pieces), Alaska Roll (salmon and avocado), and Salmon Collar (smooth cooked salmon with lemon and ponzu sauce). The combo comes with miso soup, salad, and a bowl of rice, which is truly a bang for your buck!! I also love their Shrimp Tempura Roll (drizzled with eel sauce) and Chicken Teriyaki! There are many seats in there and a sushi bar as well. Food comes out quick, and I've never had to wait for a table there. There is a lot of parking available as well since it is inside a plaza. Although for $5ish, it's one of the cheapest prices for sushi I ever came across. Yes, as the ol' saying goes, you get what you pay for. Decided to give this place a try instead of going to my usual sushi spot as this place had relatively high ratings. BUT DONT BE FOOLED this place is a no go. I really wanted to like this place so bad, everyone in the reviews seemed to be giving this place some stellar compliments but genuinely this place was actually so disappointing. Presentation wise, I was already skeptical as the rolls were clumsily rolled, some were weirdly chonkier than the others and some had way more filling that other rolls. But I decided to not be biased because you know never judge a book by its cover. For context, my family and I ordered the dinner roll special deal (2 regular rolls for $10.99), we got the salmon tempura avocado, and the avocado eel and then we got the spider roll. The spider roll was definitely my least favorite. The soft crab tasted kinda funky? and not really fresh. The avocado eel was a close tie for worst. The eel was definitely nkt fresh. I wasn't sitting up close to the sushi, but I smelled that stench. ALSO that avocado be looking pretty but dont be fooled because it was hard and barely ripe. The best sushi ordered was the salmon tempura, but like it was the most basic sushi ever so its kind of hard to mess up on that. The salmon tempura wasn't bad but was not good. Yea my family and I did not finish our rolls we only finished the salmon tempura and ate like two from the other rolls. Also the last sushi of the salmon tempura legit had no salmon it was fully imitation crab meat. ALL IN ALL do yourself and your stomach a favor and do not come to this place because you would be on your way to having the saddest dinner. Also this place has a B rating which is highkey concerning for a sushi place. But yeah I recommend to just go to kaiba next door or kokoro (my go to).
