Having been a customer of Eat n Park for decades I often stop at the Latrobe ENP for a sandwich when I am on the go. ENP use to make some really good pies but as of late that is not the case. Most recently I purchase a Coconut creme and dutch apple which both ended up in the garbage as uneatable. This at a cost in excess of $14.00 each. So I contact the corporate office (case # 102011-33263 ) late last month and the reply was mindless. So since Eat n Parks wishes to ignore my complaint about the pies I will also ad the sandwiches are not so great any longer either and the prices are high. Time to stop wasting my money at Eat n Park. read more

Well, because I believe in second chances, I tried this restaurant again. This time it was at lunchtime and the service was markedly better. I had a terrific waitress who was completely swamped with tables. I ordered the salad bar and a grilled cheese sandwich. Amazingly it came to darn near $20. The salad bar was not good. The lettuce was all brown, and the toppings were very slowly refilled. I also noticed that the person refilling the toppings was just dumping them onto already standing product; this is a food violation because you are not supposed to put New on top of old. Needless to say, within 15 minutes of having eaten, I had some life-changing experiences. I will not be back at this Eat n Park. read more

I've visited this location twice in the last couple of weeks - once dine in and once carry-out. Both times I was underwhelmed with the food. Everyone in our party agreed - it was good, but just not great. Our dine in service was also just so-so but to be fair, the restaurant did seem to be understaffed. My dining partner's soup arrived warm not hot as did the fries on my steak salad. We probably should have sent the food back to be warmed but we didn't see our server again until we were almost finished. Today's takeout was much better both in temperature and service but once again, the food was just ok - nothing that would compel me to want to come back. Eat 'n Park has always been a mainstay when I visit the area. I'm not going to give up - I'm sure I'll give it another try next time I'm back in the Latrobe area. I just hope it will be the restaurant I remembered. read more

This was a stop for a family meal while out. It was on our way home and we really wanted a sit down meal and this fit the bill. I also am a sucker for a salad bar. There were five of us in our party and they attempted to sit five adults in a rather small booth. I was literally sitting on the edge of the seat. Before we could get our drink order in my Dad had asked if we could be moved to a table instead of a booth. Without hesitation they moved us, which we greatly appreciated. That was the only hiccup here for us. Once we were resat we ended up putting in our drink order and had a chance to look over the menu. I went with the Shredded Pot Roast Sandwich and, since I love a salad bar, I got the salad bar as one of my sides. I don't know what it is about a salad bar that always makes me want to get it. But I think the fact that I don't have to prep all the vegetables is always a highlight. And who can argue with the size of the salad you make or the amount of toppings you put on your salad. Combine that with the fact that it was loaded potato soup day for the bar and you had me at that. Needless to say I ended up leaving here heavier than when I arrived. I want to applaud the staff here. Solely because they handled a Karen rather appropriately. This Karen arrived with disdain, she was appalled that the salad bar didn't have the ONE item she was hoping would be on the bar. She made this known to her server, who just happened to be our server. When the server didn't have the answer she wanted, she wanted to talk with whoever was involved with the salad bar that shift. So that person came out, who, as calmly as ever could be, explained to this lady the same thing the server just said. That, too, did not suffice, she asked for the manager...OH NO, dear God *gasp* The manager came out, and surprise, gave the Karen the same. exact. answer. What was the answer, you ask? That the person that usually manages the salad bar had called out sick and they were doing their best to have the salad bar set up properly (honestly, it was set up how every single location sets it up). Well, Karen didn't care that people have lives and things happen, she wasn't paying for whatever they had just ordered and decided she would go elsewhere. So, yes, the staff here did a great job dealing with an entitled person. I applaud you. I really hope that this Karen enjoyed wherever she went that was 'nearby.' The closest thing, which was right next door, was a Taco Bell. read more

Friendly staff. Yummy food. Love the salad bar. Their ranch is my favorite of all time. Wish I could buy it to use at home! People (other customers) are so rude anymore. Everywhere is so short staffed. Waitresses are running around like crazy. My daughter and I had Alysha last time we were here. Friendly. Did her job. Prompt service. Food was good. I tell people all the time, if you don't like the service you get or the wait due to staff shortages or lack of product, eat at home. Waiting 15 minute for a cup of coffee - yes it's Sunday and yes there are people here - but I got a bad feeling when the waitress said she would 'get to us when I can!' Never heard that one before! Going on 20 minutes now and still no coffee or water. Hope the food is at least decent. Service improved once the food arrived. We were in the area touring St. Vincent College and stopped by since it was close to our hotel. DD and I both got burgers and salad bar. The salad bar was pretty decent. Lots of different kinds of veggies, some fruit, a pasta salad, and cole slaw. There were also three different kinds of soups and some breads (pumpkin bread, chocolate chip muffins, and corn muffins among other items.) The burgers put me in mind of steak and shake. Not bad, but not great. Service was really good. Although the restaurant was crowded we were seated pretty quickly. If we are in the area again and are looking for some down home comfort food, we would probably try it again, but it wouldn't be a restaurant we would go out of our way for. read more

This location is near where we frequently have early appointments which makes it convenient. It seems that my visits here are hit and miss. One time the server is friendly and attentive; then the next time, we get a server who takes our order and does not return until it's time for the check. This chain offers a breakfast and lunch/ dinner buffets. My husband and I don't like buffets. We order from the menu. Be aware that Tuesday's breakfast buffet is a special price for seniors and it gets quite crowded. I like their soups and coconut cream pie. The management does make an effort if something doesn't make a customer happy. At least, that's what happened when my husband complained about how much time transpired in getting his order. I had my food but he was still waiting for his meal. Manager offered to compensate but hubs refused and just wanted to make Eat N Park aware. read more

I'm downgrading them to 3-stars as the service at this particular Eat 'n Park reverted to their slow to non-existent days I recall from years past. Not sure what's happened. When we mentioned it to management they were less than enthusiastic in my eyes to take my comments seriously. We met my aunt and uncle here for lunch. They are in their 90's and it's one of their favorites. The food is good and the wait staff is very accommodating. It's a small town so they ran into several friends and it was an overall good experience. I had grilled chicken with broccoli and corn. You've got to love Eat-n-Park. Not the best, not the worst, but generally an old reliable. We stopped in here for breakfast on a recent Saturday. And although they offer a breakfast buffet on the weekends--I didn't order it. Not only am I not fond of buffets--the food never seems to be well prepared--but it was cheaper for me to order off the regular menu. So I went with the old standby, the Original Breakfast Smile with fried eggs. Topped off of course with some great coffee. Oh and what a sight we made, all bedecked out in our Halloween finery! Visiting here from out of town. Stopped at this local diner for dinner. Service was decent, not very busy but our waitress didn't check up on us very often. Food took a while for only 2 people on a night that wasn't busy at all. Ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and there was hardly any buffalo sauce on it. Onion rings as the side and they were bland.
