When out with the family after a day of shopping you have to figure out a place to eat that everyone will be happy with. That is how we came to be at Denny's. It was a general consensus between my parent, my siblings and myself to come here. When we walked in it looked almost empty and understaffed. We came in and were greeted at the host stand and directed to a table. We were given menus and our drink order was taken by the hostess. We all looked over the menu and came to our decisions. When our drink order came back it appeared that the hostess was going to be our server for the remainder of our time here. While we waited for our food to come out we noticed that it felt like we were the only ones in here. Only for us to realize that there is a whole other section to this place off to the right when you walk in. We just happened to be on the side facing 30 by ourselves after the other seated customers finished. Our food started to trickle out as it was made. I had gotten a side salad with mine and was eating away at it when the entrees started to arrive. Most of the orders were correct, but there were a few missteps. Some got the wrong sides, others were missing things. Mine, just right. Even with the missteps our hostess/server was quick to remedy everything. Sides were corrected, drinks were corrected and we were left to finish our meal. When the check came, we asked for it to be split and we went about our way to pay. This is where our server/hostess kind of left us. Since they were understaffed they were running about and tending to the customers in house. Another server started cashing us out until she returned. Overall, not a bad experience, but not the best either. read more

The quality of the food is not good. The last time I was there the cook came out to take our order which was odd since the restaurant was empty. I got a chicken sandwich that was black inside and was afraid to eat it since it looked spoiled. Dennys used to be good for late night and breakfasts but is no longer a go-to for me. read more

Stopped in at another 5:30pm on Christmas Eve - what a great decision. Considering the day and time, the staff was super friendly and accommodating to our group. They were even patient as it took us a while to finally place an order - but once we did, it came out hot, fresh, and as expected. Never gave this place much thought, but after this experience, I'll be happy to return, hopefully soon. read more

Shout it to Sarah M. at the Latrobe Denny's, one amazing server. She was by herself and very busy. Seating, serving, cashing customers out running refills on coffee, cleaning tables. I'm local, and have probably been there over 100 times over the years. Never once have I had bad food or rude service, and no long wait times for food to be served. Maybe I'm just lucky? Anyway, I love the place, especially breakfasts. read more

Save your money this place sucks. if you want to stand around for 25 mins waiting for someone to just seat you then go here. when you walk in they act like they don't see you standing there. Food is terrible and no staff the wait is super long for a McDonald's type restauran. orders messed up and once we even put our orders in just to have the waiter come back 35 mins later when I asked him where our order was he said oh I forgot to put it in. We left and then next time ordered online and my wife's meal wasn't in the bag once we got home. Had to call for over an hour to reach someone and by then it was 930 at night so we asked for a refund in which they said we had to come back in. STAY AWAY if you dont want to starve. read more

The service was very bad on a Saturday night when we walked in there was only one girl working out on the floor and there was only 1 other table that had 2 people once we got seated it took over 5 minutes for her to get our drinks once we got our drinks and ordered our food it took a long time for our food to come once it came she only came and checked on us once when we saw her walking by we had to ask her for refills on our drinks. read more

I'll gladly grab the "first to review" ribbon on this one! We've had some really crappy Denny's experiences, usually involving service nightmares. Rude servers, eternal wait times, etc. usually somehow ruin a good menu and 24 hour breakfast somehow. So, after a day at Idlewild, we rolled the dice on a 9 PM dinner at breakfast; a dicey proposition, considering the fact that Steeler's camp is in town, and that probably will mean a fuller restaurant than usual. Like the gluttons for punishment that we are, in we go. Service? Good! A responsive, attentive waitress did a great job and had a very un-Dennys-esque sense of humor. Restaurant? Clean. Promptess of order? Very good! I ordered the Sante Fe breakfast skillet, and my wife's french toast was equally good. I was just thinking that I had reached the pinnacle of a Denny's experience...that I was witnessing the perfect storm forming to create a normal, acceptable Denny's dining experience. This was Danny Noonan hitting the perfect putt to sink Judge Smales...this was Tiger Woods (before, of course)...this was Jordan sinking the 3 with seconds left. This was perfection...an achievement of the impossible, something that Denny's has never been able of doing...serving the adequate meal. And then it hit. Within seconds. There, baked into my hash brown, was a hair. I checked to make sure it wasn't a stray piece of cheese, perhaps melted into a hair-like strand....nope. It was about 8 inches long, blond, and cooked into my food. Upon extraction, I verified its color, and put it aside. When the waitress returned, I asked her how well she knew her co-workers and could she identify them by this hair...an attempt at humor, of course. She promptly took it back and confronted the prep line...and returned with apologies, and a 20% reduction of my bill. Jackpot! That's a trade I will make any day. I mean come on, with a skillet of food (and my Tabasco sauce), the hair has to be sterile, right? So, I pick around the rest of the hairless food and save the "infested "area (see pic). So, in all, I nearly witnessed Denny's nirvana, but tonight, it was not meant to be. Sure, I will try again, and I'm sure, will be disappointed once again...but overall, this was one of the best Denny's I've been to. You definitely know what to expect, but in this case, I didn't expect the dinner to be foiled by a follicule! read more

we were not satisfied with our meal. the waitress was attentive but we went for the grand slam special. the special pricing was not on the menu but we figured the bill would reflect the $5.99 price. the grand slam always comes with hash browns but we were not given any. once the bill came the special pricing was not given. I mentioned it at check out and was told they would adjust the bill but you have to ask for the special menu, they are not allowed to promote the specials in the restaurant. read more

Every time I'm at Denny's it never disappoints! Always good food and service with a clean place. Even in the time of the pandemic when restaurants have been short staffed there may be a couple more minute wait but it's worth it! read more

Update - the turnover of personnel is beginning to really affect quality and service. I walked out tonight after waiting 20 minutes to order some food. There were two employees on break,and one serving, who was obviously new. The new employee was having trouble putting an order into the system and had no assistance. After waiting almost an hour for our meals, we were brought cold food. Cold, shriveled, burned pieces of bacon? Unappetizing. Cold eggs? Gross. After dropping off our drinks our server never returned to offer refills, and we had to track her down for refills, and to inquire about our food. Meals at Denny's should never take an hour to make, especially if the restaurant isn't full. Someone at our table even returned their food and asked for it to be reheated in the microwave. Microwaved food is certainly not what we wanted, but we didn't dare ask for something else to be cooked fresh for fear of waiting another hour. But once we got our food, they sure were quick to give us our bill. Don't use the bathrooms - they looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a year. read more

such a wonderful experience here! we stopped for a meal before my daughters tennis game! YUM!! I had french toast!! it was delicious! i wish i could make it like that!! my husband bosley had pancakes he was in love with them!! he talked about them the entire day! hes been swinging by there every day for the past week!! my daughter stacy had eggs and hash browns and toast! it was so fresh! i tried the home fries and died for a second they were so delicious!! my son jeremy got a milkshake he was so happy he begs us to take him for milkshakes every day! lexis is such a lovely waitress!! she gave my son so much whipped cream he asked her to marry him!! Horrible!!!!! We've been put in the back corner of the front of the restaurant several times now!!! We've been coming to this location for YEARS!! each time we get put that corner we are FORGOTTEN!! we sat today in that corner waited an hour for the food that when arrived was stone cold!!! yuck! I had to wait to the end of my meal for a refill on my coffee! And my husbands food the bacon, English muffin BURNT!! it was the worst! We try to give people the benefit of the doubt we do! Warning, do not go to Denny's on a Sunday morning. The staff cannot handle the crowd. We were seated in a booth in the corner by the kitchen that was cold. The waitress was apologetic about wait which was nice. The first cup of coffee tasted burnt. When we saw a table who arrived 10 minutes after us receive their food first it was disappointing. When we finally received our food it was warm but runny eggs. Turkey bacon was undercooked as well. We will not be returning any time soon. read more

My friends and I went here for a late night meal last Friday night at 1am, and I have to admit, compared to the other places in the area, this place dishes out the best meals in the late night hour. We ordered nachos, breakfast food, and a skillet griddle (veggies and chicken), and all of them were delicious. Evening service is terrible. Nobody acknowledges you while you wait to be seated. We sat at our table and waited 10 minutes for the waitress to come. We had no idea who the waitress was as ours cleaned 4 tables before coming over. A simple "I'll be right with you" goes a long way. Employees were also complaining about other employees in the kitchen loud enough for guests to hear. Food was good on this trip. On another visit, our food was cold and a different server brought it to us because our server didn't. Wait staff on Sundays after church are amazing, friendly, and efficient. I occasionally dine here with my parents or friends when I'm in town and have always had great food and fast, friendly service. The prices are very fair compared to the portion sizes. I'm actually never able to finish my meal. The food is always good (obviously, its a Denny's so you aren't going to get gourmet food). It's always clean as someone is constantly wiping tables or sweeping the floor. One of the main reasons I enjoy going here is that my mom, who has celiac disease, is always treated kindly and they have been great at ensuring her meal doesn't get contaminated with any gluten. In addition, on our last visit, the waitress brought out the meal for our 11 month old as soon as it was ready. This was fantastic because he doesn't have patience and it also allowed us to cut up his food and get him started so we could eat our meals while they were still hot. If you want good, fairly-priced food and fast, friendly service, this Denny's is recommended. I will definitely return when I'm in town. read more

This place has great food and I have been coming here every weekend for months now, but I will not be returning until I see a change after last weekend, I was enjoying my meal in the back room in a booth during a more busy time and I had been seated by a lovely new hostess but part way into my meal I witnessed a waitress start yelling at the hostess about not doing her job incorrectly and I could tell the hostess was already exhausted and she tried to explain that she was doing her job correctly but the waitress shot her down and I saw the tears start to form in that poor girls eyes. I didn't want to say anything to the waitress or the staff at the time but I was absolutely appalled, and that's not all. On my way out of this establishment I saw the poor host with tears still in her eyes cleaning windows at the front of this place. As if being harassed by the wait staff wasn't enough this poor girl has to do janitorial work? Upon paying I asked the host how long she's worked at this dennys and she told me it was only her second day. Really dennys? If I could give no star I would. read more

I will never eat at this establishment again. We head to our local Denny's in Latrobe Pennsylvania for an after graduation meal. We arrived at 8pm with a party of only 6. We were informed that it would be about a 20 min wait. As we waited multiple party's of greater size we're being seated in front of us. Eventually after roughly an hour and multiple attempts to figure out why we were being bypassed ,we were seated. As we sat we were told that it would be a short wait to get our order to our table. We ordered and proceeded to wait three hours for our meal. We were told multiple times by multiple waitresses that our meal would be out soon and they would run and hide so we could not call them out on the fact we were still waiting. Finally our meal arrived overcooked undercooked cold, even the bacon looked like black dust. After the whole experience we asked to speak to a manager. We were told the manager was too busy and he would not come out from the back. We continue to ask multiple waitresses to see a manager. Finally he came out dismissed us like we were nobody's and was very unhelpful. Guess we will take our business to Eat'n Park - Latrobe from now at least they care about their customers. read more
