    whole fried chicken
    Alex Y.

My friends rave about this place, so I had to check it out while being in town and, drumroll please....... I was so so impressed! This little place in Capitol Hill is so lovely, from their staff to their food, it's all great! Parking is okay, I happened to be lucky and find parking right in front but they do have a paid lot behind them. Otherwise it's Cap Hill, can't control that part. I came in on a Sunday around 6pm, and was able to easily get a group table for 7! It's a small place though, so I don't recommend following my example, but appreciate the staff for being super accommodating. We got there, and the server immediately recommended the whole fried chicken for our big group of course, and we obliged, and were fulfilled. The server was extremely kind and talked to us about the business, history behind tapas, etc. Thanks for the kindness and hospitality! The tapas were amaaaazing. Each bite was so flavorful, so delicious. The drinks also were delicious. Good drink, good tapas, what else could a girl ask for? Such a great time. My personal fav was the octopus; so well seasoned and well cooked. Yummy! This is the perfect date night spot or place to bring your friends to impress them! I'll be back for sure!

I stumbled upon Eat Asian Tapas late one evening, and honestly, I'm still thinking about the wonderful experience several weeks later. This place nails the that perfect combination of super cozy atmosphere, attentive staff, and a menu that feels like a culinary adventure... but one that you can actually afford! I can't write a review about Eat Asian Tapas without gushing about the Wagyu Tartare I shared with my husband that night. It was definitely the star of the evening. It was silky, melt-in-your mouth perfection with just the right balance of heat and acid, and it felt like every bite was layered and deliberate. I loved it and can't recommend it highly enough! Everything else we tried that night was excellent. There is a wide variety of dishes at different price points, and the staff are excellent about suggesting drinks that pair nicely with each of the dishes. Yes, there's great tapas here, but there's an even more amazing drink list. I'd say the only downfall about this place is the parking. There appeared to be a parking lot around the corner with a $25 sign, but it was closed and empty. Ride share, walk, it doesn't matter... whatever you do, just check out Eat Asian Tapas. I hear the menu changes regularly, but if you ask loudly enough I'm sure they're keep any of our favorites on constant rotation.

Wow just wow! This is a really nice place for a romantic date night or an intimate hangout spot for a small group. The service is authentic and charming! It is a small cozy spot with just a few tables but they really do make the best of the space. Ok now on to the food! Ttokboki + Potstickers (5/5) The ttokboki texture has the perfect amount of bounciness and the sauce that comes with it is so good it's addictive. The potsticker has a small amount of crunch but soft on the inside. I take that potsticker and also dip it with the ttokboki sauce as well. Chicken Ganjung (5/5) I saw someone write on Yelp that this is the best fried chicken in Capitol Hill. I put it to the test, and my taste buds absolutely agree. The delicate outside crunch, delicious sauce, and ultra soft and juicy chicken makes this a pleasure to eat to the very last bite. Beef Tartare (4/5) This beef tartare comes with thin slices of korean pear, pine nuts, micro greens and an egg yolk on top. It is recommended to mix all this up together. I think this is a very good flavorful dish but it is a tad on the salty side. It would be nice if this comes with some toasted bread to balance out the saltiness. Also, the meat came out slightly frozen which I asked them about and they said it's normal and by design but I prefer it to be warmed down a lot more for a more palatable experience. Terra Beer (5/5) This beer came out from a bottle but I really love that the glass was frozen so my beer tasted extra cold and crisp. This is one of those restaurants that truly value quality over quantity and that deep level of detail shines through the in the presentation, service and especially taste! This is a place not just to eat but to me an amazing culinary experience that's not going to break your bank. I'm so excited to come back and try everything else on the menu!

Picture we have fried ebi with mayo (which is their take on honey walnut shrimp), soondubu, and Korean fried chicken. This is their soft opening. Personally, the fried ebi had way too much mayo on it. It was drowning. I think it was fried well, though with not too much batter. I also thought the Korean fried chicken didn't taste like traditional, Korean fried chicken though it was still tasty. I got more of the sweet chili sauce flavor than anything. Soondubu was on the sweet side which they warned us about. I thoroughly enjoyed it. They even offered to top off the broth for you. The service is amazing. The waiters were incredibly attentive. They even offered a sample of their Soju. I recommend the lychee one. They were playing a good R&B mix and I love R&B so I had a great time

Last night was our 2nd time at this restaurant within 1 week and we were not disappointed. We had such an amazing time there. The food was sooo good and well presented. The service was phenomenal. The chef tailored the dishes to our likings. The restaurant was warm and cozy. We loved the ambiance there.

    Menu (as of 2025-09-12)

Simply amazing! A cozy homey restaurant where Lil Pocha used to be -- never actually had Lil Pocha, but definitely didn't need to after enjoying my meal here at Eat Asian Tapas. Was pretty hungry so I ordered a good amount of food. - Yukhoe (11/10): Was my first time trying it and was divine -- perfect balance of sweet, savory, freshness, crunch from the Asian pear, nuttiness from the pine nuts and sesame oil, and a subtle garlicky kick. Good portion size too. Definitely coming back just for it! - Kuramomo Spicy Chicken Thigh skewer (6/10): Nice grilled flavor and tender, but a lil too salty and gochujang heavy for my liking. Small portion too. - Pork Belly Skewer (7/10): Nice grilled flavor as well, and classic pork belly goodness, but also small for the price. - Kimchi Cucumber (8.5/10): House-made and well seasoned, paired great with rice. - Spicy Pork Ssam Salad Roll (8/10): Like a Korean meat Viet spring roll. Refreshing and spicy pork had good flavor, had a surprising addition of bell pepper that I wasn't expecting haha, but solid portion size for the price. Other than that, service was incredible and friendly, and the ginseng soju shot was complementary! Highly recommend if you swing by Capitol Hill and hope it's here to stay!

    Chicken gizzards!

This place was cute and vibey, the soju was delicious, and the food was good! We got chicken gizzards (bomb), army stew, and a fried chicken skewer. They gave us free escargot salad for free (I was eying it anyway!) and that was great too. We tried the pineapple agave soju and it was so delishhh. To all the tequila lovers- try it, trust me. If you are craving Korean pocha food and want some soju, try this place for your next date night or girls night!

    Tonkatsu and galibtang

It is hard to find good food in Seattle when most of it is not really worth the hype, but Eat Asian Tapas just blew me away. Their most popular dish, which is a must try, is their steak tartare. The flavors of sesame combined with pear, pine nuts, and egg yolk, are all beautifully made to enhance the quality of the dish. Texture and flavor were truly a unique experience. We also had the shishito peppers and corn cheese esquites which were fun and yummy bites! As for main course, we had the tonkatsu pork and the galbitang. The tonkatsu was good as the sauce reminds me a bit of rosé, but slightly sweeter. It also came with the side of shredded cabbage with delicious sesame dressing and potato salad. Lastly, the galbitang was my favorite. The soup is light yet flavorful packed with umami. You can tell that the soup was made with high quality ingredients and love, like a home cooked dish. The beef was cooked to perfection as it was tender. Overall, chef/owner Ji was welcoming, kind, and helpful, making this whole experience and ambiance worth it.

I looked up Paju before in South Lake Union nearby my hotel, and was excited to try it. Ended up finding a partner in crime anyway, and headed over close to closing time. Place is dark and modern, although I appreciate the wood oven being front and center. Owner was a little awkward given the timing, however she warmed up to us pretty quick when she said she was going to be in/out as we promised, and did appreciate the food itself. Got the sesame negroni, which was a unique and untraditional way to approach this cocktail. The sesame made it very different, and it remained as strong as I liked. The bugak (almost like a Korean taco with oxtail) was awesome. They were kind of just 2 bites of food each, however what was there exploded with flavor. I could've eaten 5 of these. NY strip was just ok. Didn't get any dry aged flavor from it at all. Not enough seasoning either. Bachan with it--brussel sprouts, kimchi--were tasty though, and the Paju fried rice was awesome. I wish they could put some beef/fish with that and call it a day. One of my favorite fried rice preparation I've had, but hey, I'm a sucker for squid ink. Would definitely come back here next time I'm in Seattle. Next time would sub the steak for the seafood jeon or branzino, however really nice meal otherwise. Compared favorably to other elevated Asian cuisine I've had (Joule in Seattle, Goosefeather in Tarrytown NY, Danji in NYC).

We were greeted warmly by our host, Steven, and seated earlier than our reservation. He and his colleagues was attentive and hospitable through the meal. The steak tartare was excellent with the sweetness of Asian pear paired with the earthiness of beef. The black cod sauce was addicting and balanced between sweet and savory, and the cod was flaky. The hanger steak ssam was blended at the table and had great richness and body with the beef. The sharpness from the cod sauce helped even out the buttery rice. The ginger crème brûlée was unique. The crème delivered the ginger in a bold, but not overpowering way. The caramel sauce and ice cream cooperated with all the flavor. Not too sweet It has been a long time since experiencing an "elevated" Asian meal as corny as it sounds. If you're into internet memes, then the charge is having a succulent Korean meal. Possible improvements: standard size plates instead of tapas style small plates (though I understand heir intent was for family style sharing). Additional table linen or plates to place your utensils because a small plate can't hold a fork, spoon, and chopsticks while you take portions from the main dishes. Conjoined to the paramount hotel, not sure what the parking situation is like since we arrived via light rail. Definitely would recommend if you're in the area.

I think that is the point of this dish, so if you want a more traditional spicy flavor then get the other ttoekbokki option (spicy rice cakes). We still loved this one and the rice cakes were so chewy and delicious. The cheese corn was very yummy and exactly what you would expect. It pairs perfectly with the other dishes. My friends also shared the Seafood ramen and Beef bulgogi. They liked both dishes. One of our favorite things were the side dishes actually! The tofu was so yummy, and the bean sprouts were so crunchy and well seasoned. We even asked for extra! The only aspect that makes it difficult to come more often is the price point. Most recently I had the kimchi jigae, which was relatively spicy, even when I asked for less spicy (and they said they could accommodate). I'd say it was like 2-3 stars. Flavor was great though and it was a decent portion (for $17) and satisfying. Also, a pretty wide range of menu options, despite it being a small place. There were 4 complimentary banchan dishes (napa kimchi, cucumber kimchi, seasoned bean sprouts, and fish cakes). Note that I don't think there are free refills like other places... maybe you can ask but I didn't see anyone doing so. For 1-2 people, it's a relatively generous amount.
