This place has given me some amazing memories. My son has been in since he was little tiny, and by extension doesn't know he even has an option NOT to dance (but don't tell him that!). Mrs. Charmin is excellent. The parking is miserable. The annual performances are so cool that I want them seasonal. The staff is really friendly. There aren't many dance options but even if there were Eastside would still shine. (Except the parking... for the love of God.) read more

I've been going to Eastside Dance and took advantage of their first free class, along with the two weeks of unlimited classes for $45, which is an amazing deal! Their instructors are very knowledgeable about different dance genres and their history. The facilities are clean and well-organized, and both locations have designated parking spots. The only downside is that it can get quite hot during classes, especially when we're moving quickly and there are many people. It would be even better if the windows were open or if there were fans to help circulate the air in addition to the AC. Overall, the instructors and classes are great--I can't wait to come back for more! read more

My son goes to the teen hip-hop class and he really loves it here. The staff and the teachers are awesome and they are so supportive and kind. The waiting room is always clean and the staff periodically cleans the floors and bathrooms. They really do a good job at keeping things clean and orderly here for the students and parents. They do screen out the windows to the practice rooms, so it's difficult to see inside so the students have some privacy when learning their choreography, which I know my son finds comforting. He's more on the shy side and he gets self-conscious when we watch him practicing or learning the choreography. I feel like here, they bring out the confidence in him. Even though he's a little ashamed to show us his dance routine sometimes, he really enjoys dancing and never wants to miss a class. We even had to adjust his Taekwondo schedule so he can make it to dance class. I definitely recommend Eastside dance for kids and adults who want to learn to dance. If I have time, maybe I'll give it a go. Update: Our friend's son wanted to try hip-hop and he tried out the kid's class. He really enjoyed it! He said he definitely wants to sign up for the class and he's joining the Eastside Dance Family! YAY! read more

We've been attending Eastside Dance for two years and it's the best and most well-run dance studio we've attended in my daughter's 7 years of dancing. Miss Molly's focus on inclusion and diversity means that there is a class for everyone and everyone is welcome. It's not competitive and the students have fun, while learning to love dance at the same time. The teachers at the studio are top notch and care so much about each and every student. I can't say enough about the warm and caring atmosphere at this studio and I recommended it to all my friends. They even have adult classes, and, yes, it's OK if you're not a dancer! All are welcome. I LOVE Eastside Dance! I am signed up for their adult Studio Hip Hop class, and the teacher Ms. Aara is phenomenal. I signed up feeling a little nervous for my trial class because I hadn't taken a dance class in literally years, and I had never danced hip hop in my life. This class has proven to me that literally anyone - even someone like me - can dance and have fun! The class is non-competitive, everyone is truly supportive, and there are adults of all different ages, professions, and walks of life. I find that I enjoy the class more when everyone shows up eager to learn without feeling fear or frustration around "not being perfect," and thankfully, the class is like that almost every class. Ms. Aara is a gifted teacher who truly cares about her students and her passion for dance and teaching shines. I knew after the first class I wanted to sign up! I've also dropped in on her commercial dance class which is somewhere between lyrical, contemporary, and jazz. It's been tough to commit to a class on Friday nights, but so far, I've been happy signing up using my punch card for the classes I can make. Finally, the operations have been impeccable. I haven't met Molly the owner yet, but I'm truly impressed at how seamless Eastside has their practice. You can sign up and pay all online, I have everything set to autopay so I don't have to think twice about billing, and Lily the front desk receptionist is kind and patiently answers my zillion questions. I've been taking the Tuesday adult ballet class since their opening and can't love it more! Molly was a professional ballerina at PNB and has tons of teaching experience. She makes the class super enjoyable and inclusive of students' different experience levels. It is where I sweat in a good amount but also get encouraged and able to improve my ballet skills. I've taken ballet classes in numerous studios in Seattle & eastside. This definitely is my favorite. Highly recommend to anyone who loves dance and enjoys a high quality classic ballet training. They have other dance classes like tap and children's classes too. And take Covid precautions seriously. read more

My elementary aged daughter took hip hop dance classes at Eastside Dance this year and what a FABULOUS experience it has been. The school is heavily values-based and works very hard to create and promote body positivity and inclusiveness and to celebrate dancers and dances from all backgrounds. All the teachers and staff are fantastic and I am so grateful and appreciative to the school for the positive environment they create. My daughter has learned so much this year and her younger sister is very excited to join her sister and take classes starting in the fall. Also, I was so impressed by the professional and organized recital the school held at the end of the year.
