The inside of this studio was small and cramped. It didn't look well maintained and overall not an atmosphere that I would like to go to. I expected it to be nicer since the name of this studio had "ballroom" in the name. I went to 3/4 week salsa classes. Both teachers danced very well, lots of enthusiasm, and they taught the dance well. They were always open to questions and helped us students. It was assumed that if you are female = follower, male = lead, which I didn't like. Transgender and other genders weren't mentioned, which made it feel exclusive. It would be better to demonstrate both partner positions, ask everyone what they want to learn, and teach from there. So that everyone is learning what they want to learn. One of the teachers, Johnny, made some comments that I felt were sexist and offensive. He repeatedly told the ladies to "push out your chest", " stick out your chest", and "stick out your boobs". Its never okay to objectify people. Its harassment. So I will not be attending this studio again, unless they decide to respect all people. read more

Johnny is very likely the best salsa dancer in the Seattle area and is a fun and engaging teacher. I took 2 salsa lessons from other schools in the past, but the teachers just didn't inspire me. It didn't even seem like they were having fun. After taking a lesson with Johnny and Samantha, seeing their skill, originality, and passion for salsa got me inspired enough to continue with it, and I'm having a great time. It's also really nice to know that your instructors are actively engaged in what they love to do - I see Johnny out at the salsa clubs all the time. It's not like he just teaches and never comes out. I highly recommend trying lessons from them! read more

I highly recommend learning from these mother and son duo (Samantha and Jhony). They are very fun and patient people. They make you feel welcomed and at ease. My inhibitions went away after 30 minutes of following the salsa basics. The very suprising part is how these basic steps make you sweat while having fun and feeling invigorated at the same time Salsa dancing is definitely a very good way to exercise while having fun! It is also a good way to socialize, meet people and relax...... yes, you heard me, salsa dancing is surprising relaxing! I also love their DANCE SHOES!, yes, I'm a woman and I love shoes. The brand that they sell is Christina LK. They are very comfortable. I love the thick padding. The price is way more affordable than other brands you find in dance stores (below $100). The quality is very good too and its recommended by other dancers. 5 star for the mother and son duo and for the quality but affordable dance shoes they chose to offer to their students. read more

A couple of years ago, I had the opportunity to peek inside & behind the curtains of this wonderful School. This place turns their students into Dancing with Stars mashed up with raw, street, latin, dance moves! It's all about the teacher knowing how to teach it properly & show it properly. I took salsa classes at various places in the Seattle area, but it wasn't until I started learning from Johnny Bravo that my dancing really took off. His focus on technique sets his dancers apart from the crowd. I took privates with him to improve my spins, which helped immensely. Samantha teaches fantastic ladies styling combos, and has a really great way of breaking down the moves. Salsaymotion (the Bravo dance school) is where you should go to learn performance level salsa moves, spinning and style. When you go out salsa dancing in Seattle or Bellevue and ask where that amazing dancer on the floor learned salsa, almost always the answer is "they are a Bravo dancer." I have learned dance skills in timing, technique, spinning, and performance from Johnny Bravo while dancing on his dance team. I will say that Johnny taught me more than any of the other dance instructors I've taken classes from. If you want to learn to be a truly excellent dancer and not just take dance classes for fun, then salsaymotion is your best choice. Many of the other people offering classes in Seattle-metropolitan area were students of the Bravo family and you will never learn the skills they teach as well from these students as you will from the Bravos who are the original pros. read more

I've been dancing salsa for awhile now,and I will say without any hesitation Samantha and her family are one of the best if not the best teachers around! Ask anyone who knows and they'll tell you the same thing From styling to pure techniques and expression this family is the family you want to learn from ! Samantha ,Johnny, Rico are All Top Notch! I've learned so much from All of them, and will continue studying with them (as my time allows) whenever I can! From Combinations to footwork, styling ,other forms of dancing like Bachata This is the place!!!! Fun atmosphere ,easy parking, Nice people and very relaxed while learning from True Professionals!!!
