It would be even better if the windows were open or if there were fans to help circulate the air in addition to the AC. At PNB it takes a lot of work and effort but is is worth it and necessary for building a strong dancer. The teachers here are kind but not afraid to tell you if you are doing something wrong and how to improve. PNB also cares for the mental and physical health of there dancers. Starting in level 6 they start having mental and nutritional seminars once every month. PNB will give students chances to dance on stage and experience what it is like to be dancing in front of a crowd with there productions such as The Nutcracker, Coppélia, A Midsummer Nights Dream and many more. I HIGHLY recommend this company if you love to dance.

My boyfriend and I bought a Groupon for 10 dance lessons here. If I'm recalling this correctly, we…read morehad 4 private lessons, 4 group lessons, and an hour of a party that was like a freestyle, open group lesson. Rachel was our instructor for the private lessons and she was super friendly, very organized and communicated well with us in terms of what she was going to teach and how the whole groupon offer worked. I think if we had continued our lessons, she would have been a great dance teacher to work with. The groupon is alright if you want a super basic knowledge of a lot of different dances, but for more in depth training, you'd have to sign up for real lessons. We covered the introductory steps for a lot of different dance styles during our lessons. The lessons were slowly paced and it felt like we learned how to do the boxstep 10 different ways. Towards the end of the lessons covered by the groupon, the management sat us down a couple of times to try to get us to sign up for more lessons, which is understandable but made my boyfriend and I a bit uncomfortable with how forceful they were in trying to get us to sign up.

Brain cells I've destroyed via a cocktail of alcohol, stds, and various other substances. Everyone who was here when I was here was pretty cool. I'd prob go back if I weren't so fucking poor. Well, not poor. Poor in comparison to how NOT poor I used to be. The end.

I love to support the local dance community, but I can't support bad business practice. I've been a Lindy Hopper for over 10 years and took a couple 1-day tap clinics that challenged me and sparked an interest in tap. When I saw Eastside Stomp was offering a Tap for Lindy Hoppers 3 month course for $150, I jumped on it! The class description sold the class with a wonderful description but did state no refunds. That's fair and I had no problem committing if we're learning. First class was like a tap class for children! We drilled a simple 8-count to death. Second class was worse. I had to ask Amy for more details (weight distribution, etc) since it she didn't explain basics unless asked. Horrible! I've taken enough classes to know a good teacher. Class did not deliver as promised, so I emailed Ben promptly to get a refund. He agreed, which was awesome of him. Problem is, I haven't seen the refund check (it's been over 6 months!). I've called, emailed several times, and even reminded him in person with no results. Poor business practice!! Even if they can't give a refund, a class credit would have been appreciated. But this is BS. I'm not rich enough to throw away $150! Recommendation: if you're looking for Lindy Hop classes, go to Chris Chapman of HepCat Swing in Capitol Hill. He'll take care of you! If they offer another no-refund class, I would suggest asking to audit the first class to see if you like the instructor/material before you commit the funds. *** Update on October 2014: Finally tried reaching Ben on Facebook and got a quick response (after no response via email). Check was in the mail for a full refund! Thank you, Ben.
