I just started going here consistently and I LOVE IT! I really don't enjoy cardio but I feel like these classes totally trick me into loving it, plus getting strength in alone the way. The class formats are really fun-lots of variety and each week builds on previous classes so you feel like you're learning and getting the hang of things after a week or two. Walking into the studio is also just FUN- so inclusive, fun music and lights, and super supportive instructors. My favorite classes are Bands with Elise and Dance with Chris! I feel like even after 2 weeks of consistency I already feel like my endurance is improving and I was able to advance to a more challenging resistance band in the Bands class. Well, I'm clearly in the minority here with my overall feelings of AKT. I think AKT can be a great place to work out depending on your expectations. I went to my first class a few weeks ago and this was the first fitness class that I thought about walking out before it ended. Don't get me wrong, the studio is awesome and has a nice vibe - the staff is super friendly as well. But this didn't feel like dancing...it was more like...how would I describe it... choreographed fitness steps for suburban housewives with no rhythm. Ah, there we go. Instructions were super fast and hard to follow, the music didn't match the vibe of the dance.... ie: attempting to dance hip hop style to a Jackson 5 song. (I use the term hip hop style loosely because I *think* that's what they were aiming for.) I'm glad I went though..I'd been wanting to try AKT for a while but learned it was not for me. I think this could be a great place for a specific demographic, though. read more

What a fun place to come work out! I just started going here and I enjoy the vibe, the people and the owner. She's fantastic. I like that you can easily book online, it's not overly pricey and it's located is great. I have enjoyed the combination of weights and cardio. It's not working out to the point where you dread going. You sweat, you lift, you have fun but aren't exasperated. I have especially enjoyed the trainer, Chris! I joined AKT to get back into running shape for a 1/2 marathon in May of 2022. I was going to do 6 months, my run, then it would be summer, so I planned to not continue after my 6 mos expired. It had such a huge impact on my running and overall health. I stated a member and am an unlimited member now. I hit 175 classes last week. I have been to AKT Fitness 5 or 6 times in the past month and I REALLY like the staff and most importantly the classes. The location is super convenient, with plenty of parking. The workout is challenging but not excessively strenuous so I feel there's less risk of injury and that is important for me since I had some neck issues. My favorite is the bands class. The resistance from the bands adds to the cardio and is great strengthening work while the music, lighting, and energy of the instructors makes it super fun. My second favorite is the tone class... that's a lower intensity BURNER for sure. My advise... TRY IT! The sampler class is free and you get a good idea of what the different classes are about. read more

She was extremely responsive and eager to assist with our trip in any way possible. She gave us great recommendations not only with AKT, but experiences around the area as well! I came in to try a free intro class and it was amazing! The instructors and staff were so friendly. The intro class was a blend of all four classes they offer so you can have an idea of what their classes are like. The retail area is also well-stocked carrying their own merchandise along with free people, lulu, and beyond yoga. My friend let me know that they are also on ClassPass but as of this review it looks like they no longer offer classes on the app. I wish they did! read more

I'm someone who hasn't done a lot of activity after having my baby and have been extremely intimidated by classes and gyms but after walking past AKT numerous times I finally decided to look it up and take the intro class! Two stars because the trial class was great and Chris is nice. But I'm giving the two stars because my first class was already such a bad experience. I was late by a few minutes I was already in the studio getting ready. I'm also so anxious that it literally took my 5 minutes to put on my shoe (I was in the studio with my stuff put away already!). The front office staff even stopped by a few times and we spoke but not once did she say I would not be able to go into class while I struggled with my shoes. I already booked and checked in through the app meaning I should have had a spot in class. Another staff person comes out and says "it's a full class already" I won't be able to go in anymore and there is limited space. Which confused me because I booked the class and checked in which means I should have a spot, right? Life sucks and being the few minutes late I feel bad already so I was trying to move as fast as I could because I wasn't told that I couldn't go in yet. The instructor was still doing warmups so I know I could have at least caught up. I put in to quit my membership right then and there. Good to know early on that is how I will be treated. The team at AKT is amazing. Super helpful and responsive! Returning to the gym after the pandemic was nerve-wracking but they walked me through the process and I feel quite safe and comfortable! AKT is a great fitness studio, with knowledgeable, high-energy instructors, varied content that puts you in control of how hard you want to push (not hard enough? Step up the band level, too hard? Do it without a weight). Overall- it's just flat out fun! I'm a bit of a fitness fanatic, and have been a member of F45, Barre3, Pilates, Yoga, you name it. AKT stands out because of the community it fosters, a diverse group of primarily women- meaning women from all ages, backgrounds, stages in life, level of fitness, but they all are committed to showing up and supporting one another. I work 50-60 hours a week, and I always look forward to my hour at AKT. They've got a pretty good schedule, especially in the afternoons and evenings, and they are always looking to add more times. My personal favorite classes they offer are Dance and Tone- both are on 3 week cycles- so there is always variety. With Dance, you get to learn a new dance every three weeks that varies in style, and the instructors walk you through every part, step by step. it's great- every class caps with a performance under a disco ball. With Tone, you focus on building muscle, which can always be modified to you as an individual, but my personal favorite is the last 15 minutes, devoted to foam rolling, and restoring your muscles. What a treat! Overall- I love AKT and I think most people would. Try it out for a whole month, get the variety across all the classes, and see what fun working out looks liked. read more

I've tried several workout studios but AKT is like no other!! I took a free intro class and was immediately hooked. I've never found a workout studio that offers 4 different types of classes- which are all so different from each other. Additionally, all 4 classes has content that changes every 3 weeks so you're consistently working out every little muscle group! This business opened up during Covid and didn't offer in person classes for a while. I signed up while the studio was closed and decided to give the zoom classes a try. After signing up I never took a single class . The zoom times were limited. They are now open in studio and I have still never taken a single class but they are proceeding to continue to charge me. I supposedly have a $500 past due balance despite sending a cancellation email and never hearing anything back from anyone .so I won't be recommending this gym to anyone based off the service and staff. Cant say anything about the actual classes since I've never taken one. read more

I have been member at AKT since august 2021, I like the diversity of workout there. The best thing about AKT is the variety of workouts. I can go to dance, bands, circuits and tone classes and the content of class changes every 3 weeks. Trainer and mangers are very nice and members as well. I was fortunate enough to take an outdoor dance class here in the summer. It was taught by Christine, who is so fun, bubbly, and engaging. The class was just the right amount of challenging. It was so fun. You will be smiling the entire time. I unfortunately cannot take indoor classes during the pandemic due to the health risks, but I am looking forward to taking classes with them post-vaccination or outdoors. On a heavy snow day without the possibility of driving they charged me twenty dollars for not arriving, even though their clerk said they do not charge for cancellations on snow days, in addition their hours system is unstable and constantly changing and rates are canceled, the place is not recommended and the monthly payment is excessive read more

I barely leave negative reviews, but AKT got me so disappointed that I feel the need to speak out. I tried out a class at AKT several months ago and decided to try out their monthly passes. I got a promotional offer first month but didn't expect the rate jump two times high the next, which is excessive expensive compare to elsewhere. Due to illness, I never had the chance to go to their class, so I want to cancel my membership. Their cancellation policy is ridiculous that you have to cancel 30 days ahead of renewal days with written notice, but many cases, you don't know when you have to cancel. I asked only one day late and they charged me additional month knowing that I couldn't go! They don't care you as a customer, Don't go there. read more
