Used to love this place back when it was a CrossFit gym, I felt like they genuinely cared about my success. I tried signing up again years later for their nutrition coaching. I can't speak to the quality of it but I can say that they have some very sleazy sales practices. First of all, they tried to lock me into purchasing a year's worth of coaching in advance; looks like they don't allow going session by session for no adequately explained reason. They tried to frame it as "a commitment and investment that I'm making" Despite this, I was still intrigued so I told the guy in the sales call that I'll need some time to look at my finances, and he wouldn't allow it. He kept me on the call and repeatedly insisted that "if I really wanted this, finances wouldn't be an issue". Used a lot of other clearly canned sales lines and gimmicks. He called it "holding me accountable". I can't speak to the quality Sasquatch's coaching itself, but it's hard to trust that they are approaching things with my best interest at heart when they are clearly just trying to sell me something. I ended up getting nutrition coaching elsewhere. read more

Sasquatch is such a well run gym! I've never been part of a group training gym before but the programming here, paired with the nutrition help that they provide is incredible! The focus on member success really shows. They out a lot of effort into making sure all members are taken care of and are moving towards their fitness goals. First a few stats: Female, 58 yrs old, 20+ lbs overweight and broken due to 4 years of manual labor and caretaking that lead to two knee surgeries, two hernias, and a back injury. I used to be "n shape, but more like the "I finished last in a race, but finished." Activities used to include kayaking, running, and bike riding. In my 20's and early 30's I lifted weights, but it was a different era. I joined Sasquatch gym about a month and a half ago in Redmond. I was not in a good place mentally or physically and knew I had to do something about it. My neighbor, who is an Ironwoman caliber athlete of similar age, said she found she was benefiting from their classes and that the coaches were good about modifying the exercises. I knew if I joined a gym where I had a lot of flexibility to "go anytime," I'd procrastinate and skip it. The the class structure was appealing. I pay month-to-month. A bit more than signing up for 6 mo or a year when you break it down, but it felt "safe." There is a fee for dropping your membership, but I don't think it's unreasonable (especially since their per-class rate, if you go 3x/week or more is significantly less than the per class rate of a local competitor). I have to thank Isaac for being so patient when I finally walked in that door .. with much coaxing because I couldn't even find the gym despite good signage and was looking for an excuse to back out. I was NOT in a good mood.... grumpy would be an understatement (Note: it's next to Whole Foods , but construction traffic for two blocks in either direction that day obscured numerous signs). Now that I've been at Sasquatch a short while, I have nothing to say but good things about Cam and Troy, the two primary instructors at this location. Both are fantastic about presenting modifications for those of us making a "comeback" and they closely monitor form as you are learning so that you don't injure yourself. Evan at the front desk always has a big smile for me when I walk in and seems to know everyone by name. The workouts are FUN. I love the fact that I get an hour each day to stash my phone in a locker and disconnect from everything else going on. There are participants of all shapes, sizes, and ages. Everyone I've met so far has been friendly and non-judgemental. The folks who work out here, even the super fit crowd, are welcoming, not intimidating. The gym is clean and class size is limited. There are two web sites they use - one for class signup (Sasquatch) and another for tracking your workouts (Beyond The Whiteboard -btwb). The classes are M-F at 6am (busiest!), 7am (very busy), 8am (mixed), 9 am (generally quiet), noon (I've only been once), and 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, and 7pm . There are 3 or 4 clasess on Saturday mornings. Saturdays are busier, and a bit of a different format. I'd recommend you do your first few classes during a quieter time if you are new to working out or getting back into after a hiatus. You might also want to consider a few personal trainer sessions. If you can't make it to the gym due to weather or travel, Sasquatch's BTWB page has at-home workouts that you can do w/o equipment. Be sure to preview the workouts from the web page if you are new to it (and find yourself some good music). The web page is a bit easier to navigate up front and you'll have an easier time finding the tutorials for any exercises you are unfamiliar with. read more

Had an absolutely terrible experience with their "totally free" 6-week fitness challenge. Should have known when they have nothing about any of their pricing in writing...anywhere. You have to come on for your "fitness assessment" which felt a lot like buying a used car. When I was told the cost (over a thousand dollars) I was then told it's fully guaranteed or refundable. All I had to do was come 3x/week. I was desperate to lose weight and felt pressured as I was told I couldn't have 24 hours to think about it. After my 6 weeks I was very disappointed...the workouts were basic. The nutrition unhelpful as I have a nutritionist at my dr. I asked for a refund and was told I would get one. Then a week later after following up twice I was told I'd have to do an exit interview. Then I was told I had to wait. Then again after waiting a week and following up I was told "sorry you were told you could get a refund but you didn't meet the requirements". When I again reiterated I was only told to come 3x a week they said "we apologize you were not told the correct requirements" and refused to give me a refund. They have acknowledged the mistakes are on their end and are not making good with their guarantee. I will never frequent this establishment again. read more

I'm not sure what happened but they sure went downhill. I was a member back when it was called Sasquatch Crossfit and loved it. I signed up again over the summer after they dropped the crossfit branding but something seemed off. The quality of the instruction went down. The gear wasn't being maintained. Even though the price increased they now no longer provide towels even though the cheap fitness gym in town provides them. No more sanitary wipes to clean gear. I had to bring my own wipes and towel every class. If I wanted to go to a dirty not-crossfit gym with mediocre instruction they are a dime a dozen. I knew I wanted to start CrossFit but was very apprehensive about where to go because it's vital to find a place that cares about form. After checking out several places, I found that Sasquatch was the real deal. Not only because they focus on form and mobility, but because they know that true benefits of CrossFit only come with doing it properly. I joined Sasquatch based on trust, and now I'm hooked for reasons well beyond. This place is just beyond awesome. I don't know how else to put it. And the people...the people are cool. This is not your typical gym - there's something really special about the friendships and the intensity with which people cheer you on. The coaching is a combination of pushing you beyond your limit but also spending time 1:1 to understand your goals and what you're capable of to know how hard you can be pushed. The workouts are tough, and some days are way harder than others. But one thing's for sure...you'll never be bored. Once the music blasts you get amped up and ready to put yourself through whatever you're told. And you'll feel like a rockstar when it's over. I highly recommend Sasquatch CrossFit. Tim, Sasquatch's glorious leader, is by far and away the most knowledgeable person I've met when it comes to how the body moves/works. His nearly obsessive focus on doing the right movements and making sure everyone is able to do their best has provided me with a really great introduction to Crossfit. Also the sense of community I got from the other people that work out here is just great. Whether it's Coach Mike proclaiming his love for Taylor Swift or seeing them throw a giant BBQ for the entire gym, these guys do it right and make it fun. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone considering starting Crossfit or just looking for a great place to work out. Oh and the logo is badass. 6 Months In Update: So after having been a member of this gym for 6 months I can report that I've lost 32 pounds, my strength level is much much higher than it was before, and my back pain has almost completely been vanquished. To say I am amazed at the progress is something of an understatement. The community is supportive and pushes you to be your best, but Mike and Tim are absolutely all about correct form and safety. This is a great place. Although the workouts are tough, they're fun. Yes, I wrote that....working out can be fun. The coaches are all about technique and everyone is very encouraging. My wife, who is more of a running type is now hooked. She shattered her running times and has developed more strength and endurance too. I can't comment on the training here and based on the reviews it looks like most people are pleased, but I did experience some questionable business practices. They acquired another gym and sold off their old equipment. They branded it as "Rogue" equipment, which is a premium brand. I bought a rack and out after I bought the matching bars from Rogue, which didn't fit AND was told by Rogue "You were sold non-Rogue gear". It was some offshoot brand. The manager at Sasquatch took it back and gave me a refund, BUT I had pay to send the accessories back to Rogue and drive back and forth and assemble and un-assemble it. They were unwilling to pay for the shipping or pick up the item. Return shipping cost me $45 and probably 10 hours of my time hunting down the right stuff, returns etc. If you sell stuff as a premium brand, make sure it's legit. read more

There are so many amazing things to say about Sasquatch. I started coming to Sasquatch in September of 2012 as someone who had played competitive sports and been active my whole life but never done CrossFit. I had played collegiate and semiprofessional soccer and after trying to work out on my own for a few years found myself bored and honestly not in very great shape at all. I knew I needed something to rekindle my love for being healthy and physically active, which is what prompted me to try out Sasquatch. The first day I showed up not knowing anyone and completely unsure of what I was getting myself into. All it took was one class for me to fall in love and decide I needed not only CrossFit but more specifically Sasquatch in my life. There are so many ways this gym sets itself apart from the others but one huge thing I am thankful for is the coaches, their knowledge and their commitment to form. The coaches are not only motivating and always pushing each person to better themselves but really doing so in a safe environment. This is huge! The key to success is doing things right and with correct form and that is a standard at Sasquatch. The workouts are challenging and I can honestly say I feel healthy, happy and more confident in myself than ever. I'll end with pointing out the amazing community of members and coaches that make up Sasquatch. From day one I've felt extremely welcomed and included and that's something I've tried to continue as well. Never heard of a hand-stand push-up? No problem! I joined this gym after watching my husband (for months!) come home sweaty and sore - raving about his awesome workout. I was extremely apprehensive - as my name and "strong' have rarely been uttered in the same sentence. It's been about a year and a half now, and I absolutely love it. I'm physically stronger than ever, and I'm continuing to improve on skills that I have never in my life been able complete. The workouts are varied, challenging, and will leave you cursing the existence of muscles you never even knew you had. The coaches and the other members all have the common goal of challenging and motivating everyone that walks through the door, regardless of fitness level. I had a good amount of fun working out at Sasquatch crossfit. The intensity of the workouts is hard to achieve working out on your own not to mention it is more fun to workout in a community that is encouraging and welcoming. In terms of strength training, you'll have the chance to cover all the basic big compound movements legs (squats/deadlifts/roman deadlifts), vertical pull (pull ups), vertical push(presses), horizontal pull(rows), and as a bonus there is a free day per week that you could optionally use to do a horizontal push(e.g: bench) if you like or to catch up on any missing days or improve technique. Another thing that distinguishes Sasquatch from other Crossfit is the flexibility with the schedule they have classes all the way to 7pm which if you want to avoid traffic at 5 or 6pm is great. Also, you can attend any class any day which is very convenient. In addition to strength, for conditioning, you'll do every day a short but very high intensity workout which has good research backing as a very effective conditioning strategy. And finally, there are the Olympic lifts. Those are challenging but fun and can help in a variety of ways, for example, to improve your performance in the strength lifts. For a beginner like me, I would recommend concentrating first on only the power clean rather than trying to learn different lifts. Once you have the technique of the clean down and you are cleaning the proper amount of weight according to your squat/deadlift, then you can move on to other lifts. If you are a beginner, the coaches are definitely good a motivating you but without ever being pushy in a bad way. You can work out at a level that is appropriate for you both weight wise and technique wise which is the best way to improve fast. read more
