I started at the gym very out of shape with no weight lifting experience. It's been a great journey from day 1. The trainers care about everyone at every athletic level. I received a lot of support and 1:1 coaching early on to learn the basics and they definitely push people harder in a fun way when they are ready for it. The routines are always changing up so you work every muscle group and don't get bored. After 6 months I'm much stronger with better balance and more energy. This is a great studio with excellent instructors and I love the concept of small group training. You get your own equipment and the support of an instructor without the big class size. I also like that they record your weights for you on certain exercises. The only personal downfalls for me is: the bathroom isn't located in the studio, you have to leave the workout area and go down the hall if you need to use the toilet. They have showers, but I wouldn't count the space as a locker area. And there's no privacy. I had someone bust open the door while I was changing so any person could have seen me undressed. Hope that gets addressed. Also because 2 classes are being run simultaneously the music isn't loud enough from my perspective. All in all a good space if these things don't bother you. read more

My daughter took me for a class with her two trainers in this affluent clientele gym right across from the Bravern building and I was impressed! Her trainers were really pleasant and friendly which allowed me to enjoy my workout. We did several routines ranging from obliques, lunges to lateral and chest presses, all with weights. We also did strength training using bands weights, ropes and benches! Because it had been awhile since I did any lifting, I, obviously, started with minimum weights but as I went through the routines, I find myself adding more weights and repetitions! From great definitions or lean muscles or strength training, this gym is it and will deliver! I watched how carefully and consciously caring the trainers were, never pushing but encouraging even despite my novelty. After all said and done, I felt happy and grateful and eager to get back into great routines I was again relearning. I had a really good workout which gave me a new focus on working out and refocusing on my health & fitness. It's like getting a fix and I got addicted to it! It's not always easy to get started but the staff in this gym was excellent, ensuring we had a good workout while also having fun and feeling great about the workout! One of my favorite fitness studios in Bellevue! I usually sign up for their classes when I'm in the mood for an interval training class or a kettlebell class. I like the variety of exercises (each day is different) and the coaches. Studio details: They have two small locker rooms (one for each gender) and two restrooms out in the building hallway if you'd like some privacy changing (or actually need the restroom). The locker rooms have showers, shower products, towels, and a few other useful things. Class format: They normally start with stretches while going over each workout station and then get going. Most of Ben's classes include stations all around the room and Blake frequently does classes where you stay in one area and just grab different weights for different parts of class. read more

I have a mixed feeling about bStrong. Some of instructors are attentive and friendly, some of them seem to be just there without enthusiasm. For the first a couple of classes, classes were confusing and seemed disorganized - I eventually learned the routine but feel bad for those who are new to the gym. Instructors need to pay more attention to new comers explaining what's going on. Some instructors show you a routine very quickly without explanation what area of the body you should be focused on or why you're doing it. It comes across lack of care. I had a really positive experience at bStrong as a client in the nutritional program as well as personal training. In both, I worked with Ben. I had pretty specific goals, which Ben was able to work with and tailor the program and workouts to help me meet those goals. I was able to dial in how to eat for my body type and how I was training, to put on muscle while losing fat to gain more definition and discover what works/doesn't work for my body. I can now do things I couldn't do before like pull-ups! Overall, I just feel better and more confident in my body. One thing that stood out to me on the personal training end is that I felt safe as a female working one-to-one with a male trainer. The welcoming, non-judgmental, client-focused vibe is a culture that Ben and Kyle have cultivated with their team. I appreciate that. Now that I've been going to bStrong for a couple years now, it's time for an updated review. With COVID-19 affecting all of us, bStrong has found a way to continue helping their members get healthy and be strong! Soon after the Governor's shelter-in-place order was set, the co-owners of bStrong worked that same day into the evening, to set up online classes and membership plans for their members. They helped members get on an app that allowed us to follow a fitness plan. On the app, the coaches checked in with us, to make sure all was well and there were videos of them displaying the different exercises in the set. It was easy to follow and helpful for those members who need some guidance when working out, like me. As restrictions started to lift, bStrong offered other membership plans, including small group training and allowed for small in-person classes, in addition to their Zoom classes, which pretty much follows the same schedule pre-COVID. I signed up for their small group training classes three times a week with Kyle, and though I work from home, it motivated me to get my ass out of bed for a 6am class. It's hard to work out much later than that now! The small group training classes are a great way for those who want to gain strength, as it allows you to lift heavier weights, utilizing the barbell. Kyle records all of your weights and reps that you do, as the coaches truly want to see improvement among the members. There's always a main lift in the set and then you do three other exercises during a certain time and switch to the second half of four different exercises for the remaining part of class. For the classes offered now, they are similar to the bComplete classes that I took pre-COVID, which is like a circuit. Members can either participate through Zoom where the coaches will show you how to do the exercises beforehand. Or, members can also participate in-person while the Zoom classes occur, which is what I prefer, as I can utilize the weights there and have the coach be there to watch my form and talk with. Plus, honestly, now that I work from home and am always reading and writing on a computer, an in-person class is a much-needed break from the screen. For whatever option members choose here, bStrong is taking safety measures seriously. Every weight that a member uses is sanitized. It is required for members to wear a mask in and out of the gym, and the coaches wear masks the entire time. Members are also asked to wash their hands before and after class. At this time, showers are not permitted nor can you use their towels. I can't say enough wonderful words about bStrong! I truly love working out here, as it's beyond a gym. It's a sense of community. Ben and Kyle have been there for me from day one, encouraging me to exceed my own expectations of what I think I can do. Not only are they uplifting coaches, but they are truly good people and amazing friends. There's always gonna be a gym that you can easily find, but belonging to a community is different. Bstrong is the best gym I have been to. The sessions use the right amount of technology and hands-on to keep the sessions effective & personalized to each individual. I have been attending the small group training here for over a year and am happy with my progress so far. Exercises typically focus on full-body strength using barbells, dumbbells, TRX, body weights, etc., with a finisher for a cardio mix at the end of each session. During small group training, every individual gets their equipment and target numbers to aim for each exercise and an instructor to help with form and technique. All of these help the sessions stay very productive. All the instructors are knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to help. I love bStrong! I used to come here for their HIIT classes when they were on Classpass. The workouts were primarily circuit training style with a finisher. The classes always provided a good fully body strength training session with a bit of cardio mixed in. There's usually a mix of dumbbell, TRX, bodyweight and barbell exercises and multiple cardio machines to choose from. The classes are taught in small groups and are beginner-friendly too. Though I'd done some strength training with dumbbells and weight machines before, bStrong is the first place I learned and practiced barbell lifts. Their workouts typically included one major lift (deadlift, squat, chest press), which was fun and challenging. The coaches are super friendly and give helpful tips on form. Since the classes are pretty small, you get some individual attention. Ben and Kyle are very approachable and create a positive atmosphere for their classes. I have to thank my friend Theresa for introducing me to this place or I would have never bus it over, since it is all the way in Bellevue. It is so worth the commute! My favorite class at the moment is Hillary's Strength Camp. The first time I attended, she noticed my shoulders (specifically my left) lacked ROM and did a mobility test with me. She recommended that I see a specialist to check out my shoulders and showed me a few stretches to loosen them up. I'm grateful she took the time to point that out because sure enough, I did have some issues going on there. I can only imagine if I didn't go to a sports therapist sooner...I probably would have messed up my shoulders. Anyways, back to what Strength Camp is all about. This class focuses on making gains: slow reps with heavy/challenging weights. Every class has a different focus (today's was surprisingly shoulders and back). We got to do moves such as assisted pull ups, barbell rows, dumbbell flys, and TRX work. As a ClassPass user, I think this is a much needed class especially since there are tons of HIIT, pilates, barre and yoga classes where you don't get that kind of focus. I have also taken bfit's bComplete Workout with Ben and Kyle. This class is a mix of strength, cardio, core and flexibility. Its a great class where you're guaranteed to sweat and work hard. It's time for an updated review as I've been a member for 4 years now! I will say that joining this gym has easily been one of the best decisions I've ever made. Not only have I been able to maintain consistency and a well balanced and healthy lifestyle, I've found my community and have made lifelong friendships. I was so impressed (and continue to be impressed) with how quickly the owners (Ben and Kyle) adapted to new restrictions/safety guidelines in the backdrop of the ongoing pandemic by setting up instructional workout videos and virtual classes via Zoom. The exercises are super accessible as there are always variations provided if you do not own any exercise equipment (dumbbells, kettlebells, etc). I really appreciate their dedication as they worked countless hours to get this set up in such a short amount of time. I've been doing a combination of Zoom classes and small in-person classes with the lifted restrictions. The coaches have been following safety measures very seriously and keeping the gym extremely clean - I feel safe the entire time I'm working out inside the gym. This gym kicked my butt! I had been meaning to try this place out since several of my friends positively raved about the classes at bFit in the past. When my friend recently invited me to join her in a class, I decided to commit and see if the hype was real...and it definitely was! My friend typically works out in the morning, so I agreed to go to the 5:30am class. Being so early, I thought there wouldn't be a lot of participants in the class. Not the case. The class had about 20-25 people in the class. Luckily, there was plenty of room and the class format optimized the space. Half the class did Cardio while the other half was participating in one of two strength circuits. Our trainer, Ben, was really helpful. His instructions were really clear and he provided alternate exercises for each station if you had limitations. Safety was the number one priority for Ben emphasizing good technique and getting that "good rep." I like that in a trainer. I've been to other classes with other trainers who just go so fast, they compromise form. For 55 minutes, there was so much positive energy from everyone in the class. It was just so motivating and everyone was getting after it. Whether you're an elite athlete or just getting started, there was a wide range of fitness levels. Ben and the assistant trainer were really encouraging, constantly reinforcing the idea of effort and getting better through the workout. After the workout, I got a chance to talk to some of the regular members and I just loved the camaraderie here. They welcomed me and told me they were looking forward to seeing me in the next class. There's definitely a great community here. I have been working regularly for a month at my other gym now, but I'm thinking about signing up for a couple classes a month here to give some variety to my workouts. My friend told me there were some other classes like a Boxing class and Kettlebell class on the weekends. I'll definitely be back to try those out. So since my first review, I am now a seasoned member of this gym. I can proudly say that I have found my gym family. Ben and Kyle truly make this place feel inviting. Bstrong is my alternative workout place. I usually book via ClassPass when I need a break from my regular routine. The classes by Ben are absolutely fantastic. I have tried a couple of other coaches here but I only go for Ben's classes now. The class starts with a 5-7 minutes stretching session while the coach explains the workout. There are usually 2 circuits which are a mix of cardio, strength, endurance and core. Think squats, presses, sit-ups, TRX stuff. The class ends with a 5 minute finisher which is usually core heavy. There is street parking and the gym has two slots in the apartment complex but they are usually not available as the last class is finishing. So arrive before time so that you don't miss the stretching. read more

I have loved coming to bstrong in Bellevue. As a woman in my 40s I knew that I was losing muscle tone and needed help both learning how to get stronger, and also with the encouragement that only a class can offer. I thought I could work out at home by myself, but it just never happened! All the instructors at BStrong are great- they make you feel supported and safe and like you can do anything! I have definitely gotten stronger since I started, and find their location, their scheduling system, and their facilities to all be great! I tried the Strength Camp via Class pass. It was my first time at bstrong Bellevue. Things I liked: The instructor was friendly, positive, and had a great attitude. There were varied movements and you switched stations which kept the workout more interesting (switched from bottom, top, and cardio stations) Free retail parking Good for people who are newer to working out As a new person to the gym, it felt a little disorganized. There didn't seem to be a way for the gym to know that I was new? Everyone seemed to know how the workouts for strength camp worked but I had no idea what was going on. I didn't know if I had to do it AMRAP style (as many reps as possible) or if I was supposed to do the prescribed number of reps and then wait for the timer to alert me to move to next movement. I was instructed to do a kettlebell carry outside but I was unsure how far I was supposed to go. It might have been because we had to get started fairly quickly because there was a prior class that was ending. However, I feel like instead of rushing it would make sense to have a 10-15 minute transition period. read more

Great place for fast-paced, small group circuit training. The bComplete Workout classes are definitely a lot cheaper than hiring a personal trainer, but just as effective. Everyone is super supportive, even if you haven't worked out in a while and need some time to get adjusted to the routine. The trainers show you what you need to do at each station, and then let you set your own weight/pace, so you don't feel like you need to deadlift 100lbs on your first day. It's tough, don't get me wrong, but feels like you have control over your progress without the pressure and screaming that comes with Crossfit. In terms of amenities, they have the basics: showers, changing, room, towels, and it's clean. Love this gym. I've been a member for over a year now and have consistently been impressed. The coaches are knowledgeable, dedicated and genuine. I think going to a new gym for the first time is intimidating regardless of fitness level or experience. The amount of new individuals I've seen come in lately (and continue to come back) speaks volumes in itself- but when I see how the coaches interact with them, ensuring they feel welcome, understand the format, etc., I am reminded why I decided to become a member. The different workout formats are great (varying between higher intensity circuit-based intervals and more strength-based training), and I never get bored. I do however get my butt kicked every single time and I love it. I'm stronger and in better shape than I've ever been before, and that keeps me motivated and looking forward to each workout. I also appreciate the feedback provided- the coaches are very attentive, hands-on, ensuring proper form and providing any modifications. Maybe I've done an exercise a hundred times, but to be offered a quick tip that allows me to get more out of it is super awesome. I often tell people that the classes feel a lot like personal training in a group setting. I also find bStrong to be reasonably priced and affordable, especially compared to other fitness memberships that offer class-based training, and I find a lot of value in my membership. There are amenities that I have found other gyms lacking. Things like shower facilities are important to me as a morning workout person, commuting to the eastside from Seattle. My current workplace doesn't have shower, and to not have that benefit after working out would be a REAL bummer for my coworkers. Lastly, I just love the vibe of this place and the community. Ben and Kyle are awesome, down-to-earth people and I've met a lot of awesome members. I just want to preface this review by saying I work out 5/6 times a week and take working out and fitness seriously. When I started here, I wasn't as big of a gym rat. Look how far I've come! This is easily one of my favorite gyms on the Eastside. It is a really clean, nice facility, and the instructors make an effort to get to know you and actually remember your name. The other attendees are also extremely welcoming to newcomers. I've been coming here for just over a year via ClassPass and it is one of the only studios I go to every single month and max out the number of times I can attend per cycle. I've gone to classes with Blake, Ben, and Kyle. The instructors are extremely professional and attentive to all of the students. It's really clear that they care that we do the exercises with the proper weight and correct form. This is honestly contrary to what I've experienced at other studios. At other studios, most of the time they just want to see you DO the exercise whereas bFit staff cares about HOW you do it. Form is super important when lifting any weight so I really appreciate the extra mile they go to make sure their clients don't get injured while maximizing the effectiveness of their workout. Well, I just got a new job and will no longer be working in downtown Bellevue. So I am very sad to say I will no longer be a regular at bFit. I feel like I need to decrease my rating for my other fitness club review after going to Bfit! I've only taken two classes so far but am definitely feeling the burn! The Bcomplete workouts I've been doing are full body workouts that actually make my whole body sore. The gym is small, but don't let looks fool you because you end up doing a variety of different workouts in a very intimate setting where Kyle, the trainer, is able to pay attention to your form so you get the full burn of the workout. At first, I was a bit underwhelmed by the small gym but after two workouts, I've decided I like it a lot because of the small class sizes. I've actually been the only person in the two classes I've been to so I've received the benefits of a personal training experience without breaking the bank. I imagine if there were a few other people it would still be just as good! These workouts are circuit style and are different every day so you won't get bored! Kyle, my trainer, is great! Each time I've come in, he has explained to me what the workout is for the day and has asked me what I want to work on and incorporates more of it into the workout. Unfortunately, I'm a class pass member so I only get to go to this gym 3 times a month... I recommend you try Bfit if you haven't! read more

I love this place! The class size is small enough so the trainer can really oversee each individual which is really nice, and it feels more personal. I've only had ben as a trainer and immediately felt comfortable. He really tries to help with your fitness level and pushes you harder, without being intimidating at all. Which is what I liked, especially because I sometimes need that push to go forward with my fitness level, and I sometimes get intimated of certain workouts.
