I came here for one K-pop dance class held in studio 4, which was the largest room I believe. The K-pop dance class was fun, and they were able to open the door for venting. I wished they had cubbies for storing your stuff in the dance room instead of in a separate storage room. People in the class all just brought their belongings to the dance room, and many ended up being on the floor and could be obstacles when dancing with a large group as we did. read more

I've been taking class at Premiere Dance Center (as an adult) for nearly 5 years straight. Currently I am there for 6 hours of tap class a week and can't sing enough praise about the kind staff, knowledgeable teachers, and friendly dance students of all ages. The facility is top notch with wood floors in all 4 studios and extra tall mirrors. I am so grateful for the friends I've made here, the supportive classroom environment, and my exponential growth as a dancer. Please note: I'm writing this in the studio, two days before a recital, as I watch my daughter NOT practice the dance she'll be performing, rather tumbling around on the floor crab walking and rolling on a mat. Please avoid at all costs. My wife and I enrolled our 3.5 year old here based on suggestions and lack of anywhere else really. We never thought we'd have such a terrible experience. We've spent over $400 and our daughter has learned absolutely nothing except what we have taught her practicing in our home. My daughter has had 4 different teachers over the course of 4 months. They were supposed to be learning a routine for a recital. Since we've had 4 teachers, none of the students in the class have been able to learn a routine because it has had 4 different versions taught. When the last teacher disappeared (no show), we took it upon ourselves to learn the routine (based off a video we took beforehand), download music, take video of our daughter dancing and send it to Carolyn to show the teacher what they were supposed to be doing. (I'll remind you at this point that the teachers didn't know the song or the routine 2 weeks before the recital.) Here we are, 2 days before the recital, and the teacher is teaching the wrong dance - opposite to what we practiced. It's not really her fault - even though we sent video prior to today's lesson of the proper routine. Our daughter is 4. We don't expect her to know everything. She did have fun, and that's worth something at least. We do, however, expect her to be able to know a few things she's learned in the last 4 months. That hasn't happened. We've spent $70+ a month. $75 for a recital outfit (it's about $30 online), and $50 for recital tickets. Carolyn did comp the tickets and try to resolve some things, but stopped just short of fixing things appropriately. Please avoid this place unless you're interested in taking a big chance and have money to throw down the drain. read more

My teachers just started as people who taught me dance but now I'm so close with them that now they are mentors and I have so much respect for them. Premiere offers so many different styles of dance which is so great to be immersed into multiple styles as a growing dancer!!! I WOULD NOT COME HERE. I was on the competition team for a couple years and my family and I have had many issues with the studio. The studio owner continues to charge extra "fees" to families for more profit. They honestly bankrupt families and their "exemplarily training" is definitely not at the standard that it should be. No changes have been made to making the studio a safe place. The studio owner only cares about money and many other teachers love to be mean to their dancers (and even body shame them). I have had a lot of emotional stress with this studio that made me leave to another studio. There is always unnecessary drama with the dancers and teachers that has made the studio a toxic environment. The studio owner continues to talk badly about dancers and other studios. For example, she has gossiped to my mom about how she heard that one of my new dance teachers was selling pot. I'm not lying, believe me. There are better studios that are kinder to their dancers and families. Go to another dance studio! read more

My daughter has been dancing at Premiere Dance Center for 5 years. She started in the combo classes and fell in love with dancing, the studio, the teachers, and her dance friends. At age 4 she joined the competition team and began taking a variety of classes with different instructors. Premiere has been a place where she's been given the opportunity to grow and be challenged as a dancer and performer, while also maintaining her passion in the art. This year is my daughter's 4th year on the competition team. I have already seen so much improvement on her skills. The high quality instructors are incredibly impressive, and do a great job making use of the full lesson time. The instructor's passion for dancing and teaching definitely rubs off on the students in such a positive way. The instructors that she's taking classes from are exceptional and each bring out growth opportunities for my daughter, while maintaining the appropriate level fun. Premiere Dance Center has been my daughter's second home for years and we look forward to many more to come. I also take adult dance classes at Premiere and have really enjoyed these. There's a nice variety of classes to choose from, in different styles. The instructors do a great job of adjusting the lesson to the skill level of dancers in the class. I highly recommend any adult dancer to try these classes. Overall, I'd highly recommend bringing your children to Premiere Dance Center or taking adult classes yourselves. My experiences have been with adult classes: lyrical and ballet from Sarah G. and Hip Hop with Joseph. Sarah is professional and kind. I like that she really focuses on technique and stretching. It's a great workout! Josh was a lot of fun! I like that most of the class was dedicated to choreography. His choreo is fast paced and challenging. The studio itself is located in a nondescript office park behind the Safeway near 520. There is lots of parking available, but it's not particularly well-lit at night. There are 3 studios and the floors are always clean. I really appreciate that Premiere offers a free trial class. They also offer punch cards ($100 for 10 classes that expire in 3 months), which makes it more affordable than some of the other studios I've tried. read more

I attend adult evening ballet classes taught by Sarah G. I can't say enough good things about her as an instructor, and about the school itself. The level of professionalism is great and I've learned more here in 2 years than I did in 10 years of ballet classes as a child. The receptionists are very knowledgeable and friendly, and the atmosphere is comfortable with sofas in front of each glass-fronted classroom so you can observe your kids. There is no shortage of classes for youngsters- they have a large class schedule with ballet-tap combo, hip hop, and so on. The hip hop instructor, Rodney, is especially talented and amazing to watch with the kids. The best part is that trying a class is free. My 3yr old and 5 yr old daughters will be taking a trial class this weekend. read more

No reviews since 2011. Not surprised. That's because the people who gave ratings are not longer at this studio. The studio is a second hand store mess. Things stacked, crowded and laying all over the place. Floors are filthy. The furniture in parent sitting areas are old, worn and smelly. Dogs are allowed inside and they lay on furniture and pee on the carpet. So much for sanitary and allergy consideration. The teachers are young and inexperienced except for the tap teacher who is a little older but angry all the time. Moves around the studio like he's important but not. There is another ballet instructor who appears to know what she's doing and even looks like she's danced professionally but she only teaches the older kids. There is a 16 year old teaching. 16! Also 3 other kids just out of high school and in college. The hip hop teacher is interesting. He looks like he knows what he's doing but doesn't seem interested in what he's doing. The owner leaves kids in her ballet classes to stretch by themselves. She ignores parents. If you have a comment or question you might as well talk to the walls. She has no interest in your concerns, even the serious ones. A couple of kids act out and hit other kids yet the owner does nothing to intervene, nor do the parents. Customer service doesn't exist. There are two people I've had interaction with behind the desk. One is so personable and kind and helpful. The other is rude, abrupt and clearly has no idea what's going on, so she takes it out on the customer. Classrooms are very disorganized and the teachers don't have any control. A lot a chaos and the teachers just look exhausted. It's not easy wrangling kids when you're just a kid yourself. Very impersonal environment. Parents look out of it. No feel of family or community. They have a competition team and from what I've noticed if you're not on that team, you don't matter. Preference is given to those dancers. Must be because they pay a whole lot of the studio income. It's $300 just for the privilege of being able to say you're on their team. No thank you. If my child is going to dance for an award it will only be with good training behind it. That is not even close to the case here. I'd best describe it as a place where kids are dropped off so their parents can get a break. Expensive babysitters. Very expensive. Their accounting is insane! I have never received more duplicate bills, over charges, charges for things that don't even belong on my account and more. I'm sure there are many parents who don't even look at their invoices because if they did, there would be so much uproar that the attorney general would have to come in. Save yourself the time, annoyance and frustration. There are too many outwardly good and well run studios out there. One year was enough for me. If you choose to go here anyway remember you were warned. read more

I am a dance Mom at Premiere Dance Center. My daughter has been at this studio for four years now. Each year I see her grow in a different way. The first year she was getting comfortable in a new dance environment. Shortly after she became a member of the dance team. Her passion for her art has evolved from a fun activity to a life goal. If you are a competitive dancer, do not even consider going here. The classes are very unorganized, and the teachers will leave in 5-10 minutes periods with no explanation and then yell at you later for not being good enough. Also, the competition pieces are finished anywhere from 2 months- 1 week- the day of competition. Usually they're far from clean. The owner is self-centered and focuses only on the money. She will lie, promise false things, cheat, and will do anything to get as much money as possible out of you. She also talks badly about other studios, which no role of authority should do. My daughter went through the entire "combo" class series for little kids (ballet/tap for kids age 3-5-ish). I can't speak for the older kids classes but as far as classes for small children, I found this studio to have the perfect balance of allowing the kids have fun while still learning basic ballet/tap technique. The girls get to wear pink leotards and ballet skirts/tutus and they are in heaven. All the instructors are fantastic and the June recital is so much fun. Prices are also very reasonable. read more

Beautiful facility, incredible technical training (amazing competition scores to prove it against any studio in the area), great family atmosphere, extremely innovative choreographers, I could go on. To give you just once piece of justification, their tap teacher and one of his students went to New York for a professional Broadway Underground choreography competition and beat all the other New York proffessionals there to win first place. No other studio in the state can say that. The teachers are masters of their art forms, as well as loving people. They are the only studio that is practically drama free, and the atmosphere is like one big happy family. You won't regret joining Premiere. read more

The training has been excellent and we have watched her passion for dance and her skills grow leaps and bounds in a very short time. My daughter is learning ballet from last 3 yrs and she has joined ballet in premier from last 3 months but their co-ordination with parents is really not good. Premiere dance center is the worst studio possible in Washington state. I have never experience such an unorganized, pricey business. I've been at this studio 3 awful wretched years. Wow where do I start with this mess. My parents paid 15,000 dollars for me. And they're not even good. They do poor at competitions, they have HIGH drama with bratty snotty kids that are lazy in class and don't try. That brought me down and taking classes at my new studio showed how much fun dance can actually be. I was so unhappy at dance, stressed, forced, emotionally tortured and over all uncomfortable. Now, where do I start with the owner. She doesn't care about the kids, she just likes their parents money. Prices are soooooo high. If you want to be poor this is the place to be. She doesn't help the massive amount of drama that happens. Dirty mean gossip goes all around. And the owner herself breaks her own contract by spreading rumors and gossip about other studios' training. She lies, gossips, cheats, to get all the money out of you. It is SOOO unorganized, a lot of our dances for competition get finished close to competition. Which leaves us with no time to make it clean. My daughter has attended Premiered Dance on and off for about 3 years. I'm not sure how other dance studios work, but what I know about this dance studio/culture (if your an outsider - not familiar with the way their minds work and not a mom-volunteer who is favored and in the know) is that they charge a lot of money for every little thing and they have favorites. Ballet manners means don't do anything but stand extremely straight and look daft. Not a lot of room for questions or curiosity for young students. As a former teacher, you learn that classroom management is a subject that has to be taught. Their rules are a bit arbitrary and are bent for favorite families/students. Not a lot of attention paid to the details. They don't really care if your kid is learning ballet, they care that they are paid as much money as possible for as many kids as can be shoved in a classroom. Everything is expensive, but more than that their scheduling is not thought through and unclear. Photos shoots were scheduled during school hours, and for our most recent rehearsal at a local high school, 20+ parents showed up 30 minutes early, only to wait outside in the sun for 40 minutes. The company was very disrespectful, claimed that it our fault, and would not let the crowd of around 40 adults and children even stand in the lobby out of the sun. A little unsettling to have so many parents make the same "mistake". I would not recommend the studio to anyone who expects communication and respect read more
