The coaches at Kirkland Community Fitness are absolutely phenomenal, every single one of them. They do a very good job of presenting a cohesive, scalable approach to help get the best out of each of us, wherever it is that the individual is starting from. I can't say enough good things about the staff at KCF. I appreciate them so much. Another wonderful aspect of KCF is of course the other members. When I first came in, I was embraced by the other members and I instantly felt like I belonged there. The other students are extremely supportive. In summation, KCF is a safe, inclusive, fun space in which you'll get stronger faster than you can imagine while meeting some cool people. Between the trainers, students, and workout programming it seems to be a great conduit for success.

After a full day of decision making, numbers, reports and meetings, the last thing I want to do is think about my workout. So I don't, I just show up for a guaranteed butt whooping that leaves me feeling awesome! Kirkland CrossFit is referred to by other crossfiters as "legendary" - true story. These guys run a tight ship. Fantastic program and quality trainers. If you have been doing CrossFit in WA for a while, you have heard of Allison King. She is an incredible athlete, great coach and overall a pretty awesome individual. I love training with our box owners also, not only are they great coaches, they practice what CF preaches about community involvement and giving back. Yes, the gym is cliquish, because it has patrons that have been coming here for many years, which on occasion can leave an impression of people being not super friendly, BUT they are all very nice once you get to know them! Yes, they can probably do a slightly better job of making people of all levels of physical ability feel a bit more welcome, but I promise you, any effort of being friendly will always be reciprocated! I love not knowing what the WOD is, that way you can't pick and choose, everything can be scaled down when needed, I am my own worst competition - always! What I also love, is the fact that these guys do not just pick daily WODs, they create an actual program, which over the course of 3-6 month produces great results. You will make leaps of progress in strength, agility and cardio conditioning. I love KCF, and I promise if you come here, you will too!

Keaton did our first class; he was very friendly and helpful in correcting form and making sure we were okay (I was in the "red" zone often, so he seemed a bit worried for me). He also gave us a rundown before and after class of the machines/exercises, as well as our fitness numbers, and asked about our goals. I'd recommend this place!

His nearly obsessive focus on doing the right movements and making sure everyone is able to do their best has provided me with a really great introduction to Crossfit. Also the sense of community I got from the other people that work out here is just great. Whether it's Coach Mike proclaiming his love for Taylor Swift or seeing them throw a giant BBQ for the entire gym, these guys do it right and make it fun. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone considering starting Crossfit or just looking for a great place to work out. Oh and the logo is badass. 6 Months In Update: So after having been a member of this gym for 6 months I can report that I've lost 32 pounds, my strength level is much much higher than it was before, and my back pain has almost completely been vanquished. I can't speak to the quality of it but I can say that they have some very sleazy sales practices. First of all, they tried to lock me into purchasing a year's worth of coaching in advance; looks like they don't allow going session by session for no adequately explained reason. They tried to frame it as "a commitment and investment that I'm making" Despite this, I was still intrigued so I told the guy in the sales call that I'll need some time to look at my finances, and he wouldn't allow it. He kept me on the call and repeatedly insisted that "if I really wanted this, finances wouldn't be an issue". Used a lot of other clearly canned sales lines and gimmicks. He called it "holding me accountable". I can't speak to the quality Sasquatch's coaching itself, but it's hard to trust that they are approaching things with my best interest at heart when they are clearly just trying to sell me something. I ended up getting nutrition coaching elsewhere.
