Don't come here if you are in a rush .... We waited almost 30 minutes for UNTOASTED bagels ... while being 2 out of the 4 people there . The employees were clearly more invested in their phones .I would've been okay with waiting if the food was worth it. The bagels come straight out of a package so it's not like you're getting artisan bagels that would again make it worth the wait . The latte was subpar at best tasting mostly of milk . I ordered from the Eastside Bagel Company for the first time this morning. I called ahead and did pickup because I was unsure of their seating but was pleasantly surprised to see how clean their store is and how much indoor and outdoor seating they have. Not only do they have way more than bagels, they have a large menu of breakfast and lunch items as well as ice cream. I ordered a two egg bagel sandwich on a French toast bagel with sausage but when I go home it had bacon. The other order was also a sandwich with sausage on an onion bagel and my son said it was delicious. The bacon was super good as well and we did order fast on the phone so perhaps next time I'll check the order before we hang up. The service was great and the food was ready in 5 minutes. Everything here is made in house. The bagel with egg, bacon, and cheese was on point. Check out the bacon in the photos, this was a huge sandwich but just their regular order, why would you go to a chain restaurant? Also had the nitro coffee that I enjoyed. Limited options currently in their online ordering but if you go in the menu is enormous. They serve breakfast and lunch and I learned that the current owners purchased in July 2024 so if you haven't been recently, you need to stop by. read more

I want to love this place but holy cow is the service terrible. Takes ten minutes to get a bagel when I'm alone in there and they don't even give you your coffee before they start whatever process it is they do to toast and put cream cheese on a bagel in the morning when you're trying to get to work. Not always open at 7 when they say they will be either. I would love to order a sandwich and a smoothie but based on how long it takes to toast a bagel I'm scared! And this is not a one off. I keep giving this place a chance because it's a very convenient location. But sheesh! Pro tip. Give the customer their coffee while you make them wait! read more

This bagel shop is on Elmgrove, right next door to the Butcher Shop. It could be risky to open a place like this in this spot, since there are 3 other bagel places within roughly a mile (though one is relocating to Cambridge, MA at the end of this month) AND a new deli opening soon less than 2 miles away. Likely as a result of this, East Side Bagel Co. is offering a series of "grand opening" style incentives: a free coffee with a breakfast bagel sandwich, and a free soup with a lunch sandwich. We went in for lunch, so I chose the very tasty chicken noodle soup as my extra. The broth was maybe a touch more greasy than I'd like (probably from sautéing the fresh carrots and celery in house while making the soup) and the noodles were elbow macaroni - but I'd order this again. The lox sandwich had a generous amount of flavorful lox, good cream cheese, and capers. The bagels are large, and my marble bagel had the absolutely necessary caraway seeds that I need in anything claiming to be "marble." While everything was quite good, it's expensive compared to the sandwiches at some of the competition, and I wouldn't order the soup again at that price point (but maybe a got a smaller-than-usual size for free?). Also, I was surprised that a place calling itself a bagel shop did not offer a package (meaning lower) price for a 1/2 dozen and/or a bakers' dozen: it was just 6 or 12/13 times the price for a single bagel. This indicates to me that I'm in a sandwich shop that offers only bagels as the bread versus being a bagel company. Maybe that explains the ice cream counter? I'll be back to try "just" the bagel, not a bagel sandwich. I did enjoy my lunch despite the initial 3-star review. We'll see if the bagel - just the bagel, no cream cheese - makes a case for paying more for my party platters. read more

This place was great. It was clean and everyone there was very nice. I ordered a bagel and a hot chocolate. The bagel was delicious. Would 100% eat again. I did have an issue with the hot choco. When we got it, I could tell it was super hot. So I took off the cap and waited until I finished eating to even try it. After about 15/20 min, I tried it and it was still so hot, I blistered the inside of my mouth from one smallllll sip trying it. I'm not sure I've ever been served a drink that hot. If you are getting something, be sure to check it, especially if it's for a kid. After 25 min I added some ice to it and that made it drinkable. I feel like it's relatively self explanatory that hot drinks are in fact hot... but this was probably right around a boil. Hottest drink I've ever been given. This is the worst place you could ever eat your breakfast. 1st, they break multiple health code violations. There was a flea infestation the the previous managers never cleaned out food from the old establishment. There were multiple moldy products and nothing was stored safely. Multiple bagels have been dropped on the floor and served to customers. If you have ordered a milkshake there, it was expired ice cream from years ago. The managers do not care about the saftey of their customers. 2nd, they treat their employees terrible. You can tell they have never ran a buisness before. 3rd, your food will take forevr to come out. there have been customers who have waited 30-45 minutes for a bagel toatsed with cream cheese. There is no conduct or oder in this place and you should avoid it at all cost. read more

Whatever positive things one could say about this place, the problem is that their bagels are awful. Not made in-house and in all respects exactly the same as those good looking but terrible tasting supermarket bagels. Not boiled. No lye or malt syrup. They are simply rolls with holes. How can you base a business on such a subpar substrate and expect to succeed? read more

Spacious, brightly lit cafe with friendly service by people who actually live in the neighborhood. They serve much more than bagel sandwiches, including fresh juices / smoothies / açaí bowls and Warwick ice cream, which are much appreciated in the summer heat. Great place to sit for a while or grab and go. My smoothie, juice, and iced coffee were excellent. Their bagels are super fresh and they really hooked me up with the smoked salmon. read more

Pro: Big sandwiches. Outside seating. Con: I ordered the mango acai bowl. Not only was there zero acai in the bowl, but half the ingredients on the menu were missing. When I inquired, the employees told me the manager had changed the dish but hadn't changed the displayed menu. Same with the menu to order online. I asked if the missing fruit could be added to my existing bowl and was told it's all frozen. Turns out the mango in the bowl wasn't really completely thawed either. When I ordered the bowl, the employee should've told me about the change in ingredients. They could have put a sign up if the menu is too hard to change, and surely the online menu can't be that hard to change. Sad to have such a poor first experience with a new business :( read more

I ordered a falafel. Waited for it until everyone who came in after me got their food (including someone else who had ordered a falafel). It made me think they'd forgotten my order, but no explanation was given. I got home and found it was so dry that I threw out half of it. It was falafel, lettuce, and tomato and nothing else. (I had asked for no onions.). I'm not sure if the hummus that was supposed to be on it was there but if it was, it was so little that it was not noticeable. It needed a sauce or something to make it less dry and bind things together. iIt was the first time I tried this place, and I was very disappointed. read more

The bagel sandwiches at this shop are fabulous! (They even offer gluten free!) I recently went in and had the "Cape Code Chicken Salad" on a gluten free bagel. The sandwich is delicious, the owners are lovely, and the place is inviting and clean. I will be back with the family! read more

Very friendly employees and great menu. The sandwiches are overstuffed with a lot of cream cheese and toppings if wanted. My biggest issue is it is called a bagel shop and while they have plenty of bagels the bagels are mass produced and come out of a plastic sleeve like from the grocery store. The bagels are dense and doughy. If you like a fresh bagel skip this restaurant. read more

Nice folks running the place and they make a good sandwich, including lox/cream cheese on bagel, although for some reason they include lemon bits as part of the sandwich-- but I just say "no capers or lemon" and it's all good. The bagel itself is the big kind, which they get from a bagel bakery in MA. They are fresh, tasty, and include an excellent multigrain variety. If you ever had bagels from the Finagle a Bagel shops in MA, these are comparable. Prices for these large bagels and sandwiches are reasonable. They have a lot of other food, drink, and dessert options there as well. They are friendly and trying hard to make a go of it. Worth checking out. read more
