    Classic Lox
    Claudia Z.

I've been a fan of Providence Bagel since I started working in Providence. It is just a quick jaunt from my office to their location on Main Street. Hubby & I were doing the RI Food Fights #BestSandwichRI challenge & happened to be in North Providence so we picked up our bagels at that location. We both ordered the Classic Lox: bagel & cream cheese of your choice, fresh lox, tomato, red onion & capers. We were there in the early afternoon on a Sunday & literally snagged the last two fresh bagels in the store! Spinach - not bad, not my favorite (yeah Asiago!) but it worked for this sandwich. I usually go with the chive cream cheese but I wasn't thinking about it when I put in my order. So it was a classic & perfectly composed lox bagel. A good amount of lox, juicy tomatoes, very thinly sliced red onion & a nice briny pop of the capers. I liked that they asked if we wanted a fresh or toasted bagel. Delicious!

Picked up my complimentary bagel, spread & coffee for being part of the 2021 Yelp Elite squad!

The slowest drive thru service I've had in a while. For a bagel and cream cheese expected the wait to not be so long. Waited in line to order, waited to be checked out and then waited at the window to actually receive the bagel. The wait after I paid to receive the bagel was the longest wait. Looked in and saw only 2 girls working. Hire more people!! Not fair to them. Ordered French toast bagel and maple walnut cream cheese. My son loved it. It was just ok to me. Girl at the window was nice and she greeted right away on intercom to take the order.

I was craving a bagel and decided to stop into Providence bagel. I just moved here a couple of months ago and just now exploring different establishments. My first impression was how big it was inside, very clean with lots of seating. I ordered an everything bagel toasted well done with cream cheese. To my disappointment, it was not well done toasted like I asked for but nonetheless, it was still delicious.

Egg and cheese with extra cheese

I keep wanting to like this place. Bagels, sandwiches, coffee, DRIVE THRU!! the food is never good. This is an egg and cheese with extra cheese! Not only is it absurdly disproportionate vis a vis the bagel and egg, there was virtually no cheese. Don't even get me started on the "latte" which wa just the original small coffee they tried to give me instead and when I asked for my proper order, they poured it in a larger cup, added water, charged me $7 and called it a day. I have to stop coming here!!,!

I've tried this place quite a few times now to see if anything would improve but this place is trash. The staff does not listen to directions and gets the orders wrong every single time. I just asked for strawberry cream cheese and received strawberry jam (Not to mention there's hardly any even on the bagel. See picture for reference), even though my other bagel clearly had strawberry cream cheese on it that was in the same order. Read the directions! And the so called gluten free options for bagels are the absolute worst. Not only are they hard as a rock but they don't toast them properly in their toaster oven. Why is it so difficult to make decent gluten free anything!? I've gone to other restaurants that actually know how to make gluten free bread that tastes 100 times better than this place ever will. Absolute garbage and I am done wasting my money here. 0/0 DO NOT RECOMMEND!

It's okay but a little short staffed for the weekend and my muffin was cold. No donuts so I was a little disappointed. It is a chill spot though.

I agree with the most recent reviews that things have gone downhill in recent months. Came here because I learned they're the makers of my favorite spinach bagels at White Electric, and White Electric was closed at the time. This is my second visit, the first time I had gone in, they were very friendly and kind, despite messing up my order, they readily fixed it, all was well. This time, maybe a year from the last visit, I went through the drive thru, there were no cars inside, but 2 in front of me in the drive thru creeping along at a snail's pace. When I got to the speaker and started ordering, perhaps the person had difficulty hearing me, but despite providing clarifications; 2 spinach bagels, one plain...didn't have a chance to get to the onion bagel before I was met with a snap of HOW MANY BAGELS DO YOU WANT?! IS IT TWO SPINACH OR TWO PLAIN...sheesh, easy tiger, no need for the 'tude. Also once I got my anemic bagel, I came to realize it wasn't even a circle. Hopefully they rectify their customer service,

Bagels are always solid here. They were out of veggie cream cheese at 9am on a Friday-bummer. But my bagel was toasted well and was delicious-Whole Wheat Everything with plain cream cheese. Baked goods (donuts/rice krispy treats) did not look appetizing. 1/2 the tables in the dining area needed to be wiped down-the place was dead-no excise for dirty tables. It was also cold to the point where I should've just ate in my car. Not my favorite location...

Providence Bagel is my fifth stop on the 9th Annual #BestSandwichRI showdown. Providence Bagel has multiple locations - Providence, RI; North Providence, RI; Kingston, RI; Mansfield, MA; and Attleboro, MA. I've been to the North Main Street in Providence, RI location once before and this location is on Mineral Spring Ave in North Providence, RI. Providence Bagel is very spacious and there are many tables. There are plenty of parking spots and there's a drive thru as well. The cashier informed us that the RI Food Fights includes a choice of one of the deli sandwiches. I chose The Patriot on a poppy seed bagel and my husband chose The Ham sandwich on a wrap. After waiting about 10 minutes, a staff member came out and called my name with our order. The poppy seed bagel was fresh and The Patriot had Turkey, Pepper Jack Cheese, Avocado, & Tomato. The ham sandwich was garnished with lettuce, tomato, onion, and provolone served with a pickle spear. We both enjoyed our sandwiches and all the ingredients were crisp and natural.

Burnt bagel (dark to them evidently doesn't mean the same as any toaster will give you when set to dark)

Okay, a few things. The website needs some work. There's no place (that I saw) to ask them to put the cream cheese on the side. I also ordered online and sent my son to go get it. When he got there, they told him they didn't have the cream cheese I ordered. So he is at the drive-through texting me. My son had wanted chive cream cheese, but they only have vegan choice cream cheese in the website (for and additional $4.29 (almost double the cost of the bagel itself), but it turns out that they DO have chive cream cheese, but it's not in the website. Okay, fine. On the website, I chose "dark toasted," well, I got burnt. Pic attached. It was also the least amount of cream cheese I've ever gotten on a bagel at a bagel place. Some places get a little out of hand with the cream cheese, but there really wasn't enough on this one. I don't know if I got a first day employee making my bagel, but it was pretty rough. And it was also only partially cut, so when I tried to break it in half, I ended up squeezing out a good portion of the small amount of cream cheese that was in it. I ended up throwing out more than half of my sad burnt bagel.

So nice I had to come twice! They were fully staffed rocking and rolling hard. If they ever take a bit to get your order to you it's because they are VERY busy and believe me it is worth the wait. The food is always great and customer service amazing. The ambiance is always welcoming and I viting. They are always ready to serve and a clean lobby. I can only speak about this location and I have to say YOU GUYS ROCK!

A nice lady greeted us and brought us to a table and gave us menus. We had grabbed canned sodas out of the cooler area, assuming that's how you do it? The pickles and slaw were rocking! My friend and I decided to split an order of potato latkes which come with apple sauce and Sour cream. I tried both ways and preferred the sour cream. I got the pastrami on rye and added ground mustard which was provided along with salt and pepper on each table I could only finish half. My dining mate got the turkey melt (toasted grilled) and loved it. I really want to go back and try the patty melt with Mavens relish. Get a macaroon! I literally ate mine in 2 sittings because it was so good and big!

Come for the décor, stay because your food hasn't arrived yet…read moreAfter seeing WhatDidYouEatTodaySir hype up Marvin's Delicatessen, I figured it was worth the ride down from the Boston area. I love a good deli. Unfortunately, this wasn't just disappointing--it was borderline comical. Let's start with the good: the place looks fantastic. Clean, modern, really well done. If Yelp rated based on interior design alone, this place is pushing 5 stars. Now... the rest. First clue something was off--the dining room felt like a walk-in freezer. Not exaggerating: every single table had people eating in their coats. At some point you have to look around and think, "maybe we turn the heat up before someone orders a side of frostbite." Then came the wait. And the wait. And the wait. Close to an hour for deli sandwiches. During that time, I had a clear view of the kitchen, which turned into dinner and a show. Plates were coming back nonstop--wrong bread, wrong orders, total confusion. It was like watching a live-action blooper reel. Eventually, our food arrives... and of course, it's wrong. Back it goes. No big deal--mistakes happen. Round two: soup comes out with vegetables after my wife clearly explained she has an allergy. The waitress caught it (thankfully), and back it goes again. What finally came out can only be described as "chicken soup in spirit." It tasted like someone waved a bouillon cube over hot water and called it a day. No seasoning, no substance, and I'm pretty sure the "chicken" made a brief guest appearance and left. Her sandwich? Also wrong--and somehow included onions and mystery vegetables. So that was basically game over. I ordered the 50/50 (pastrami and corned beef). I say "ordered," but identifying what actually showed up was a bit of a guessing game. The meat was dry--painfully dry. The pastrami (I think?) had the texture of kindling wood and looked like it had been sliced by someone who just discovered what a knife is. Tough, stringy, and completely lacking that juicy, melt-in-your-mouth quality you expect from a deli. The waitress seemed nice enough but didn't really know the menu, and the kitchen was clearly in full chaos mode. One guy--who I assume was the owner or manager--was running around like a man trying to put out ten fires with a squirt gun. At some point, we just started laughing. Not because it was good--because it was so bad it crossed into "you can't make this up" territory. Maybe I'm spoiled coming from the North Shore, where delis take pride in their corned beef and pastrami. But if you're going to call yourself a delicatessen, you've got to at least get the basics right. This place has the look, but none of the execution. I wouldn't go back. I wouldn't recommend it. And next time I'll just stay north of the border where the sandwiches actually show up correctly--and edible.
