I'm not sure I can call myself a customer, because I was never given an invoice, but I had a very good experience with Easter's and thought I should share. I had an emergency with my front door where it is old, had broken, and was a major security risk as I could not secure the door from the outside. I was desperate to have someone look at it, hoping to get any help possible, and had called 3 local lock & key operations. I had a visit from another outfit who left me with a $200 bill and no actual resolve, because the lock was busted beyond what they could fix on the spot. Easter's had given me a window prior to the other guy coming out. So, when he left, I called Easter's to see if I should still have them come out, or if the guy that came from another company had done everything that they would have done. The lady from Easter's who helped me (I feel so badly that I've forgotten her name) was so incredibly nice and helpful. We were back-and-forth via phone and email for over an hour, at which point she agreed that her technician would likely run into the same problem of the lock being so badly broken, it wasn't something they could fix on the spot. Even though they never actually came out, I felt as though they were so willing to help, thorough, and really made me feel like they went the extra mile for me, without even coming here to do the work. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience. Before the installation, I specifically asked whether the Schlage locks would be priced similarly to the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP), and I was told they would be. Afterward, I discovered the hardware had been marked up by approximately 100%. I understand businesses charge more than retail, but a markup of that size should be disclosed upfront, especially when a customer asks. I contacted management to discuss the pricing, but I'm still waiting for a return call. The installation was disappointing as well. The top lock was initially installed crooked, requiring the technician to return the next day to realign it. While that issue was corrected, the bottom lock is still slightly crooked. Overall, the lack of pricing transparency, poor communication, and installation issues left me very disappointed. read more

I had a lock box/file box that had some very important paperwork and cash inside. One of my family members lost the set of keys, which unfortunately had the extra key on it as well. I called several locksmiths that would come to your home, but they could not give me an estimate on the cost. I spoke with Cindy at Easter lock and key, and after sending her some photographs she assured me they could make me new set of keys. I took the box down to their shop on Joppa Road and in 15 minutes, I had a new set of keys as well as access to all the important paperwork/cash. They charged me a wopping $12.98!!! Went into the Easter's to get locks and dead bolts replaced on commercial property. Was in the store when I scheduled the appointment. (Mike) Day of appointment, I called at 3pm talked to Sarah before my 12pm-4pm appointment time. They said techs are running behind and if I'd like to wait or reschedule. I opted to wait as I needed these locks replaced. No one showed up. At 3:59pm I get a message left telling me I'd have to call and reschedule. As a small business owner, I wouldn't recommend this place for service. read more

I use them for work and personal. They are professional and fast. I'm sure someone can go to other places and get a cutting machine to cut a copy of a key but I've had issues with those before and I'm not about getting locked out of my office or home. If you want more than one key or better customer service than a Vending Machine. Use them! I only took off a star as they are pricey. read more

Just moved into a new home and had the pleasant surprise of finding out that every lock on every door in the entire house (3 storm doors and 3 standard doors) used a different key. Additionally, some locks did not have have a hand turn mechanism to engage the deadbolt from inside, and the door had to be locked from the inside with a key - very frustrating. I reached out to Samantha at Easter's who was great, immediately and accurately understood my need (1 key that could open all storm doors, and 1 key that could open all standard doors), the number of rekeys required, and gave me a estimated quote for the work to be performed. I agreed to move forward and Samantha reached out to the Dispatch team so that they could schedule the time for a tech to come out and perform the work that best suited my availability. Dispatch called me about 30 minutes later and let me know that there was a window of availability next day. Like many other service organizations, the window was rather large (12-4) however they informed me that they would be calling about 20 minutes before they planned to arrive - great! At around 12:15pm next day, Kevin (the tech, who was fantastic) called me and let me know that he would be arriving around 12:45pm. Kevin arrived right on time, and already knew the exact work that needed to be performed as it was successfully passed on from Samantha to dispatch to Kevin. Once I provided Kevin with all of the previous keys, he got to work with the rekeying which took about an hour (super fast for 11 separate locks that needed to be rekeyed). Kevin was extremely personable and respectful of space and wore a mask which was great in these COVID-19 times. Once everything was rekeyed, it only took Kevin about another 10-15 minutes to reinstall every lock. Kevin also used drills that were almost completely silent which was amazing because he was able to reinstall the locks while I was in the middle of a conference call without disturbing me at all. Once everything was wrapped up, I got the exact costs for the work (which was even less than the original estimate!) and paid via credit card. All in all the entire experience was fantastic and this is the best service I have ever received from a local locksmith in Maryland. The service was scheduled days in advance by First Financial Federal and they gave us two dates to come in for the box to be drilled. We were told to come between 9am and 12pm as that was the time locksmith would be at the credit union. I arrived at the earliest possible time and they said they didn't know when the service person would arrive. I called Easter Lock and Services a couple of times to get clarification. No one could tell me anything. I finally earned he took a prior job and was serving that client in PA and when he finished he would come to FFF. He arrived at 11:58am. So yes, "technically within the service window." Many people, in addition to myself, waited several hours at the credit union. When he arrived he was efficient. At the time the incident occured the lack of knowledge and unresponsiveness of office staff when asked when the technician would arrive for an appointment scheduled days in advance was underwhelming. read more

I called to check about a spare key for my Tundra. I was told that I needed to come in so they could put my key in a fixture to see if it could be copied and also discuss "other options". When I got there the technician went in the back never touching my key. When he returned he said they couldn't make the key. When I asked about the "other options" he said there were none. Why waste my time on a 40 mile round trip when they could have answered over the phone? Easter's is totally incompetent. read more

Easter's is great. After having trouble with my deadbolt for over a year, the time came when my key no longer worked at all. I called Easter's that day after finding them online, reading some good reviews, and remembering that I'd seen their trucks around my neighborhood. They provided same day service. The friendly and knowledgable technician removed the deadbolt, examined it, diagnosed the problem (the pins), went into the truck full of tools that he drove out, repaired the pins, cut a bunch of new keys for me, and was in and out within 45 minutes. He charged a very fair price. Given my lack of knowledge about locks, the technician easily could have taken me for a ride, but didn't. I highly recommend, and would not hesitate to call them again. read more

They are professional when they come to your house, and they are professional in their store service counter. They are not the least expensive locksmith, but they are the best by far. Last year I had my whole house re keyed and it was a little under $900.00. Great service and quality work done 5 stars. Today ( June 23,2014) I go in with a couple of locks to see about getting new keys and to get a lock cut off a chain. First the lady working the counter is just plain rude, rude, rude. Next a guy came out to help me and he was help ful, but they couldn't re key the locks. So I pick some new ones, have to order 1as they have a small stock on hand, ok. Nexted came the chain, they have no tools on hand to cut off the lock but the could loan me a lock cutter and I could go out into the parking lot and try to cut it myself. WOW maybe they thought I didnt want to pay to have it removed. No full service for me. I have to re think using them again. I have been going there for 14 years an I have never seen it this bad. read more

My lock on my Cabin door was not functioning well and as I have about 15 of these keys out, I decided the best solution was to have another one re-keyed. I took a brand new same brand brand lock to Easter's. They re-keyed the lock and everything seemed fine. The next time I went to my Cabin (an hour away) I put it on. All seemed well. Shortly after my guests alerted me that the handle had come off. I went back to my Cabin (an hour away) and found it to be true with springs and all having fallen out. I brought it back to Easter's, showed it to them and gave them another new lock to re-key the same with a suggestion to put on all clips so it wouldn't fall apart. I got that lock and went back to the Cabin (still an hour away). Subsequent guests could not get in that door. Turned out the key turned (which I had checked) but the turning the key did not turn the bolt that opens the door. My guess is the spring mechanism had been put on backwards. At this point, I just put a new lock on, went back to Easter's and showed them the problem, left them the lock and asked for 10 keys instead of messing with lock anymore. They did make the keys and told me it would be $48.00. They were pleasant but, under the circumstance, I don't think they handled this situation very well. read more

I run a petsitting business and although I have my own key machine to make copies of regular keys, I go to Easters to make copies of unusual keys. They always make the best copies (the big chain hardware stores never make working copies) and they are very friendly. I highly recommend them! read more
