Kevin and Doctor Locksmith came through for us when the door lock to access the backyard to our row home went kaput. It literally fell out of the door! While this was by no means an emergency, Doctor Locksmith sent Kevin over to our home within an hour to assess and repair. Kevin arrived with a mask on which I very much appreciated considering the new COVID variant. The consult fee to come and assess was $34. He explained that he'd work on removing the old, broken lock and then discuss replacement. There was a consult fee, lock removal fee and then he replaced both (2) locks on the door. It was a pricey visit but well worth the efficiency and resolution provided. This was likely the most stress-free home repair we've experienced as homeowners thus far! My 88 year old mother contacted this contractor in order to have deadbolts installed in her home on the front and back doors. A subcontractor was sent to the house to complete the work. The sub contractor was informed that both the door knob and deadbolt should be keyed alike to avoid having to use 2 keys. This also required the current door to be drilled in order to install the deadbolt. The sub contractor installed a dead bolt only and left the original doorknob which was not what was to be done. Additionally, she was told a credit card could be used originally. The sub contractor told her check only. Total for the installation of 2 deadbolts was $660. The work was worse than sub standard and is shown in the pictures. I wouldnt pay 6 dollars for this bullshit work. Since this work was subbed out, Doctor Locksmith is responsible for the work of the sub. There was no follow up from Dr. Locksmith and they wont answer the phone nor return any calls. The sub contractor will not answer or return messages either. The cost of this work should be refunded immediately. I am going to post this same review on every platform I can and will be making an in person visit. I would have given this a no star rating if it allowed me to. read more

This is my second go around with Doctor Locksmith. In both instances Doctor locksmith has met and or exceeded my expectations. Not only was Kevin able to quickly install new locks, he was also able to evenly align a wobbly door to ensure my new digital lock moves seamlessly and locks perfectly. Kevin is solid and did an amazing job. My only gripe is the price. Locks are not reasonably priced in my opinion. Called and made a same-day appointment for a free estimate. Steven came on time (at the beginning of the window), explained what he would need to do to install the smart deadbolt lock I purchased off Amazon and how much it would cost to add additional locks, etc. It was a great price (about ~$100 cheaper than the estimate I got from another locksmith over the phone) so I said yes, and he installed my locks on the spot, rekeyed a bottom lock, and made a spare key using the equipment in his truck. Needed my locks changed because someone had been entering my home by picking the wood around the lock and creating a large gap. Kevin was very upbeat and helpful in explaining how he would cover the gap with a larger lock and changing the locks themselves. Very quick service when I was locked out of my apt. Only thing I didn't like was that on the phone, the guy couldn't give me an estimate of cost. So I didn't know price until the locksmith was at my apartment door with my dog going crazy on the other side of the door, because it had been too long since she was taken out. Obviously at that point, it had already been a very long evening, and I had no choice but to just say yes. When I purchased my home people told me the first thing I should do was get my locks changed. I've always known locksmiths to be con artist that tell you one thing to get your service then they jack up the price when they get there. I thought it was a little odd that they wouldn't quote me over the phone since everyone else did but I allowed them to come out for a quote. The guy that came out was super nice and respectful calling me Ms. LaToya the entire time. He changes the locks on all the doors in my home for less than I would have spent if I replaced all the locks from home depot myself. I had locked myself out of my running car with my phone in there as well and needed to get to work. It was about 830 when my neighbor called to get a locksmith to help me. The locksmith showed up at 1025/1030, mind you my car was still running, and popped the lock in 5 mins. They were not quick to show up and assist me, and I was charged $181 for the service. I am appreciative that my car is now unlocked, but not appreciative of being charged almost $200 for someone to provide a 5 min service after I had been waiting two hours. I contacted the business and the dispatcher stated that the technician is who comes up with the charges and they could do nothing about it. NOT HAPPY. He also didnt give me any quote just started unlocking my car and once he unlocked it he turned off my engine and pocketed my car keys. He would not give them back to me until I paid, these keys also had my house keys on it. I am sure there are times when, in other people's lives at least, calling a locksmith isn't during an emergency. Maybe you have planned to replace old locks and can wait a few days for someone to show up, maybe you are upgrading locks and time isn't really a factor. I am sure that happens, it just doesn't happen to me. What jhappened to me is that, while out of town on business, I got a frantic call from my wife. It seems that the front door deadbolt no nolonger worked - she could not unlock the door either from outside (where she started) or inside (where she was when she unlocked the back door). Me, being 240 miles away did the only thing I know to do - check out yelp, and call for help. I came across a number of different services but the reviews for Dr. Locksmith were 100% satisfied so that's where I called. It was towards the end of the work day but not for the magicians at Dr. Locksmith. When I called I was told that a technician would be at the house within 30 minutes. I offered to give my credit card info over the phone but was told that they didn't need that up front - the tech would look at what was going on and they could go from there. In just about the 30 minutes promised my wife texted to say someone had arrived. About 20 minutes after that I received a call from the tech telling me that the work had been completed, the keys that we had would still work, and everything had been taken care of, incluing making sure that the hole where the deadbold goes into was properly aligned. I then received a run down of the costs, incluidng the discount for mentioning Yelp. While the cost was more than I wish it had bee, considering the level of customer service, and speed withwhich that service was dispached, it was a price I was more than willing to pay. It is clear when a company puts customers first. It's clear when everyone from the person answering the phone to the person doing the work understands and has been trained in being understand to customers who are feeling stressed out. Dr. Locksmith is such a company. Use with confidence. Should I need any additional services, I have found the place to get it. I do not recommend this company. I just bought a new home that I wanted to get my locks changed. I was told by Kevin I would have a free estimate via yelp message and even texted him my address and a photo of the locks as he requested. Not long after the person from the company came out (not Kevin) he came into my home and gave me the estimate which to me was higher than if I were to get a new door installed from Home Depot. He quoted me for $150 for my door locks and the storm door would be $250 he quoted so I declined and thanked him for coming out. At that time this person was at the front of house door on the outside and I was on the outside on the front of my steps. As soon as I told the person that I wasn't interested, he said I would need to pay $34 for the estimate and I said no there was no estimate cost per Kevin. This guy folded his arms and walked up to my door to my home. As I approached him to walk inside my house he stood in my doorway that to me implied that this man was upset and wouldn't move unless I paid him. I told him to excuse me so I could walk inside and this man who spoke Spanish and little English kept repeating $34. I called Kevin and spoke to him about what was happening and Kevin instead of apologizing for this persons behavior asked me why I didn't want to use their service and I explained why and Kevin began to question me why I thought the cost was too high. I told Kevin and this man from his company that if he did not get off my property that I would call the police. The man at my door said he didn't care. I told him his boss should have told him that this was a free estimate and this was not my fault. This man left and I told Kevin I would never use his service and I did call the police to complain and wrote up a incident report. I also told my husband that this happened when he came home. I know that if I was a man that this guy would have never had the gall to block me from walking in my house. It's unprofessional to lie about your services and tell someone which I have proof of that your estimate is free. I will never recommend this company.
