Our first interaction with Advanced Security Safe & Lock occurred when our moving company left us…read morein the lurch with two safes that needed to be moved from our garage to our basement. The movers said it was impossible to put the larger of the two safes into the home without damage, and we didn't want to store safes in the garage where they'd be vulnerable and not in a temperature-controlled environment. When we called Advanced Security Safe & Lock, they said they could absolutely do the job. They arrived on time and placed both safes exactly where we wanted them in our basement without damaging anything. We were so impressed that we later hired them to change our locks. The job turned out to be more complex that we'd thought, since there were two types of locks in our home. But the technicians were able to switch out the cheaper locks for a reasonable price so we only needed one key for all of them! Every worker we dealt with was professional and responsive. I highly recommend Advanced Security Safe & Lock.

I found ACL on Yelp and was amazed at their 5-star rating with 40 reviews. When I called on Friday, Rose listened and said that we needed a more experienced locksmith. Because ACL was very busy, she could not schedule anything right away and suggested another locksmith. However, since my need was not urgent, I was willing to wait. Chris contacted me the next day and in a little over an hour installed the new handleset and lock. The previous reviews were spot on and I am pleased to add my own 5-star review. I appreciated that Rose really listened to my need and offered honest feedback, even if it was to recommend someone else for quicker service. Chris was knowledgeable, attentive to detail, and did quality work to fix my issue at a reasonable price. I will use them again and I strongly recommend them.

I can understand why this company has many positive reviews, and I am glad others had good…read moreexperiences. Unfortunately, mine was not one of them. I hired them to install a doorbell. Instead of being upfront that this was not within their expertise, they attempted the project anyway. Throughout the process, they repeatedly asked me if I was sure and insisted their way was the only option. In hindsight, it felt less like concern and more like a way to protect themselves so they could later say I gave permission. As a client, I am not the expert, which is why I hired a professional. That approach came across as intimidation rather than guidance. When it became clear the project could not be completed, I was still charged the full price. When I raised my concern, the response was dismissive and delivered in a raised tone of voice. As a young woman alone in that situation, I felt intimidated and taken advantage of. They knew the job had not been completed successfully, yet I was still required to pay in full, which made the experience feel unfair and exploitative. Afterward, I learned the wiring issue could have been solved in a very simple way. Instead, I was left with unnecessary damage, had to clean up the entire mess by myself, and now face additional costs to repair what was left behind. Cleaning up on my own not only made the sting of the experience worse but also felt degrading. I am glad this company may work well for smaller, straightforward projects. However, if your request requires anything more complex, be cautious. Even if the work is not successful, you will still be charged in full. I was hesitant to write this review out of fear of retaliation, but I felt it was important to share my experience in case it helps someone else.

I want to clarify a few things about how they charge for services because of the reviewer who gave them 1 star. Given my positive and straightforward experience with Edgewood Emergency Locksmith, it seems this person is frustrated with the cost of a locksmith's services in general, and is now misrepresenting the company as though the company lied to them and tried to trick them, when in reality, this is not at all how they operate in terms of charging for the locksmith's services. The initial quote that customers are given is just for showing up in an emergency--you are told this over the phone. You are also told that when the locksmith arrives, you will be given a quote for the work needed, before the locksmith begins. If you don't want to pay what you are quoted or want to get another quote from another company--they won't do any work and you aren't charged. It isn't like you are agreeing to an unknown cost and then have no choice but to pay up when the locksmith gets there. Pay if you want the work done, don't if you don't. Thanks so much for the wonderful service Benjamin at Edgewood Emergency Locksmith!

I called Edgewood Emergency Locksmith and they were able to have someone come right out. They quoted me $54.00 to start. Fine. They service guy didn't know the area, considering it was in Edgewood, and he asked me how to get in the front door since it was a apt/condo facility. I had the key, and he went upstairs. He tried his key, and it wouldn't work. He tried it a few times, and jiggling they handle. He said he couldn't get any "door bag" on the door, since it was a sealed door. He was there about 10 mins, and the door opened up. He then proceeded to tell me the fee was $149.00. I told him that's not what I was quoted, and didn't have that kind of money. He said it had to be taken care of then. I gave him what I had, $63.00, and then called the owner to tell them to charge the balance. I called the company the next day to complain that that wasn't right, to charge me for 10 minutes of service, no special equipment, and I didn't know it would be that much. They were rude, and finally I asked for customer service. That guy, Keith was really nice and said he would have the supervisor call me. (That was on a Friday.) No phone call. On the following Wednesday, STILL no call, I called back. Again, I had a rude man cutting me off, and saying he had a hard time believing that the technician never told me the fee. Well, he didn't. I never had a locksmith before. He sent me back to customer service (Keith) and he realized that yes, he was supposed to have someone call me back. He reassured me that he would have them call the next day at 10AM. Guess what, no call. My suggestion to anyone needing a locksmith, don't use this company. Their customer service is below par, they take advantage of people by bait and switch fees, and not honest. I'll make sure I share this on Yelp to prevent others from going through what I went through.
