This company, and Alex in particular, saved my life! I was trapped in my bedroom as the door knob had come off. My husband and I had gotten locked out of our house around 1 am on a Tuesday, because the cylinder of the lock came out with the key. We'd called a few different locksmiths who had 24 hours listed in their their description, and they all said we were too far away to be serviced. Feeling defeated, we reluctantly called Locksmith on Duty, and Mark answered the phone. He asked where we were located and what was our issue. I think he thought we were too far too (lol), but what he did differently was that he offered to help us over the phone. He stayed on the phone with us and step by step guided my husband to pop the lock. We were sooo happy! Mark was our angel that night, and he literally has no idea how much he saved us. Thank you so much, Mark!!! read more

Quick response and service. We just moved to Bmore and needed some locks changed out. Did the price quote on yelp while we were at the Os game and received a respond right away. Alex came out early Saturday morning and able to change out the old deadbolt to a digital smart lock easily along with two other locks in the house. He was professional and courteous. read more

Alex was so great! He gave a quote, got to us pretty quickly and even fixed an issue we thought we would have had to fix down the line with one of our locks! read more

Alex was amazing ! I locked myself on my way to the airport and the only other flight was 45 min from the original time. Alex arrived fast enough and finished the job for me to catch my flight ! read more

Locksmith was good. However... I was not happy about the fees. I sent a request asking for a hotel and they insisted on coming out. No mention of the $25service fee. I believe they could have given me a price based on the pictures I sent. If I wasn't so lazy I could've done the same thing the locksmith did, watch YouTube to Confirm how to reset. On the positive side my locks were reset which made it easy for me to get in & out of the house. read more

We somehow managed to lock ourselves out of our master bathroom. We have an exterior mounted lock and could not figure out how to get it open. We called these guys and they were able to come out same day! Alex was super helpful and got the door open and all of two minutes. We then had him look at our front door lock which was also giving us trouble. That was a little bit trickier but he managed to fix it! He provided us with lots of detail as to how the lock mechanism worked, took pictures and explained a lot of why the problem was there in the first place. Being that we are under quarantine we really appreciated Alex wearing a mask and keeping everything very clean. He was very polite and we were definitely use them again although hopefully we won't need to. read more

My husband and I recently bought a house and we found Locksmith on Duty on the Thumbtack app. They were super flexible with scheduling, had plenty of availability to help us. The locksmith assigned to us was Alex, and he was really excellent. Alex is clearly a master of his trade, worked quickly and efficiently, and was able to save us a bit of money by picking one lock that we weren't given a correct key for so that we didn't have to have a whole new lock put in. We would recommend Alex, and Locksmith on Duty to anyone who needs locks or keys changed, and we would definitely use their service again if need be! read more

I was so upset I had locked my keys in the car and called them. They were literally out to me in about 8 minutes on a Sunday afternoon and opened my car in 3 minutes. Alex then saw that my car battery was dead and out of courtesy jumped my car until I was able to leave. Awesome place!!!! read more

I locked myself out of my car last night and started looking for help this morning. I called around to a couple different locations that I found on Google, but they either didn't answer or didn't except credit cards. Then I found these guys and sent them a message. I ended up getting a response from Art. He was pretty good with letting me know the pricing and how quickly someone would be out to me. And they except credit cards! Alex got to me in about 15mins and got me into my car in like 5mins. One thing I liked is that he checked my license and registration to make sure I was really the owner of the car. I liked that extra layer of security. If you ever get locked out, give them a call! read more

Quick to respond with a quote and scheduled an appointment right away. I was having locks changed on my home.

Thanks to Alex for coming out so quickly and taking care of my problem. I couldn't get my door open as one of the lock bolts wouldn't disengage. He was able to replace the broken part quickly. He also fixed an issue with my deadbolt (which he didn't charge extra for and that was truly appreciated). I think it took all of about 30 minutes to get everything replaced and working again, including rekeying one of my locks. Thanks again for all of your help - Sunday at midnight isn't exactly a fun time to be working! read more

If I could rate this company with zero stars, I would. This company fails in terms of customer service, honesty, and overall competence. Over the phone I requested a quote and scheduled for someone to come between 8 and 9. He didn't even bother to call until 9:50 and showed up 15 minutes later. If you're not going to keep an appointment don't bother making them at all! Furthermore, I was told there would be a $25 service call charge and would be charged $35 per lock for 3 doors, 6 locks total. I specifically asked about the cost of installing a deadbolt in a door that currently didn't have one and was given the same price. When I did the math I came up with $235, but imagine my dismay when I see the invoice for a whopping $330. They decided it would be good business to surprise me with a $95 charge for installing a new deadbolt. That was never mentioned in the quote process despite the fact that I specifically asked twice. Unfortunately I wasn't there to dispute the charge in person and got stuck with the bill. Lastly, this company took no initiative to educate me as the consumer about rekeying store bought locks. I could not for the life of me figure out why all my keys worked on all of the locks even though they were purchased individually. A competent locksmith would have informed the consumer about rekeying locks instead of leaving them and their belongings in compromised security especially when they are asked about the keys being the same twice throughout the process. I can't believe a company like this is still in business. read more
