The price i paid did not account for me finishing the work. He does average quality of work in my opinion, decent pricing, but you should be prepared with a backup plan for when he fails to show up and finish the job.

I had been meaning to do a bunch of repairs on my house (which is just about 13 years old and remediated 6 years ago) and was trying to reach out to different people to do different jobs with varying levels of success. The result was a backlog of things to do and coordinate with different parties. I originally reached out to David for some help with repairing a shower door that had fallen off. He replied quickly and showed up to do his estimate as scheduled. While he was over, he looked at a bunch of the other things that I needed to have done and offered to do them as well. He repaired everything in one day only a few days later. I have to applaud David for his courage to start his own business. But this makes sense for him. He knows he is good at what he does and he is organized. He is highly professional in his correspondence. He will outline precisely what he intends to do. He is timely. He is versatile in the tasks that he can perform. He possesses initiative. And he will follow-up with thorough documentation of what was done and needs to be done. Payment is also easy and he accepts a number of modalities. I have attached some of the pictures he took for the various jobs including: 1. Window blind replacement 2. Water valve and supply line replacement (more details below) 3. Ceiling fan remote control failure diagnosis 4. Watersealing of door threshold (more details below) 5. Tub spout repair 6. Shower door repair and adjustment (I contacted a bunch of people who would not offer to do this) 7. Sliding door repair (which another contractor said they would fix but never did) I want to comment in particular on his ability to diagnose problems. For the longest time, my kitchen faucet had slow flow. Just the kitchen faucet. Over the years, I contacted perhaps 3-4 different plumbing companies. They recommended ridiculous things like increasing the water pressure to the house (which didn't make a lot of sense given that the other faucets were fine and was impossible because the pressure was already maximized) and even replacing the faucet altogether (which would cost $220 for the same model and not resolve the underlying problem). David diagnosed the problem as excess calcium build-up in the valves and he was right! He knew the answer when all the professional "tradesmen" did not. I also have what some people would call a "lemon" for a house. The contractors that built it did bad job. It was remediated but even after this remediation, I had problems. One of them was the balcony door which would leak water when it rained. I contacted the builder and they said that my second warranty had expired and they recommended how to repair it. Suffice to say that they were completely wrong and David uncovered some pretty shoddy workmanship and commented on the unorthodox remediation which would lead to the problem. I should have had David remediate my house. Overall, I am exceedingly happy to have stumbled upon this gentleman and would be pleased to refer him to others. He is basically the "doctor" you want for your house. I hope he stays in business a long time.

WARNING: HUGE MISTAKE…read more I hired James Garner mid Oct to put on a roof. He ghosted us immediately after my last cash advance (to pay his guys.). Several weeks, & $8,000 lighter, I am left with piles of debris in the yard & am hiring a roofer to do what Elite Home Improvements /James Garnet didn't. If you're looking for honest work & professionalism, keep looking. He will take your money & disappear on you too. I'm not the first.

1 Star Review: WARNING - Do NOT Hire Elite Home Improvements or James/Eric Garner…read more This company is a complete disaster, and the owner, James Garner (who also calls himself Eric Garner to trick customers), is one of the most dishonest and unprofessional people I've ever dealt with. He pretends to be two different people and claims to have years of carpentry experience, but it's all talk -- his work and behavior tell the truth. He bids low just to get the job, then constantly runs out of materials and makes you, the customer, pay more out of pocket. He's almost never on time, sometimes doesn't show up at all, and when he does, he spends hours sitting in his truck while his untrained friends and family members try to do the work. The quality is terrible -- uneven, rushed, and often left unfinished. He also has a habit of blaming everyone but himself for his mistakes, including his own crew, while taking no responsibility. Even worse, he doesn't pay his workers, leaving them broke and struggling, and then bullies or mocks them about their financial problems. It's disgusting and unprofessional. When customers complain, he turns it around to make it seem like it's their fault. He floods review sites with fake positive comments from friends and relatives to bury the truth. If you care about your home, your money, or your sanity -- stay far, far away from Elite Home Improvements and James/Eric Garner. He will waste your time, your money, and your patience, and you'll be left cleaning up the mess he leaves behind.
