As far as hot dogs go, this is a good place to check out. The hot dogs were good in flavour and the price was definitely right. I think our whole family ate for $40. They have a lot of options. I got the cheddar dog but the cheese wasn't melted so I found my sister's hound dog was better as I liked the melted cheddar better. My brother-in-law is also allergic to soy protein and he had no issue eating here. The hot dogs are quite filling as well being foot longs. They also have ice cream options and will do floats with any soda/ice cream combination they have available. Seating is picnic benches spread out over the property and dispersed with some being on a bit of a hill. Dogs are welcome. The young fellow running the place was the grandson of Irene the woman who looked after me by allowing me to do some work on the restaurant as she sensed I needed help. This year I wanted to grab some T shirts and he didn't have all the right sizes I needed but brought them from home the next day as promised. This gentleman has all of the qualities that he must of inherited from his grandmother. Refreshing to see service of this level. For that reason go enjoy a hot dog. My bf and i decided to go to here today after we were done our errands. He has been here many times as a child and it was my first time. There were only about 3 tables to sit at. The hours are Sunday to Saturday 10:00 a.m to 8 p.m I ordered the foot long Taco dog which was a hot dog then topped up with their homemade bean chilli, shredded cheese and pieces of lettuce the length of the bun. If was a very filling meal and mighty tasty too. If I had it again i would add a dash of hot sauce because i like it to have some heat to it but i am still very happy with my choice. i can't wait to come back again, there's so much on the menu i would like to try including their french fries, sausage in a bun or even a hamburger. Easterbrook's is a roadside diner that has been selling hamburgers, french fries, ice cream and foot long hot dogs in Burlington, Ontario since 1930. They are really known for their assortment of different foot long hot dogs. I ordered a foot long super hoser hot dog ($5.50 plus tax) and switched it to a sausage (extra $1.25 plus tax) with a side of small fresh cut fries ($2.45 plus tax). The super hoser dog is essentially a grilled foot long sausage on a toasted bun topped with melted cheese, peameal bacon, fried onions and tomato. The foot long sausage was pretty good, peameal bacon topping was a little underwhelming but overall a good foot long hot dog/sausage, the side of french fries were also pretty good. Easterbrook's has a pretty cool retro decor and it's a place you would find on a roadside on the way to cottage country and not in Burlington, Ontario. It doesn't look like anything has changed inside or outside over the years but it adds to the charm and nostalgia. I found this place during a business trip to Toronto. I was dissapointed to find that there were no "Diners, Drive-ins, and dives" in Canada. I did a search, and found this posting on Chowhound: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/619901 They mentioned Easterbrooks. Since I was driving down from Toronto to the Bell Homestead in Brandtford, this was on the way. I got a foot-long hot dog with onions and cheese. I also got fries. The dog was perfect and the fries were light and crispy. I was there at a weird time (3PM) and it was empty at that time. A very young (high school?) girl was running the counter. I asked her for directions back to the highway but she didn't know (maybe she was too young to drive?). I was running late so I took half the hot dog and fries to go and ate the rest in the car. The place has a lot of obvious history. They had a note up on the wall that "since 1930 we have served over 1,579 miles of hot dogs and over 512 tons of ice cream". There are business cards, articles, and pictures all over the walls, some dating way back. I would definitely go back if I am ever in the area again. read more

There's rather limited parking, but you can park on the street nearby. Or if you have already paid for entrance to the botanical gardens, you can just park in the garden's lot across the street. Food is what you'd expect: hotdogs and more hotdogs, and fries. I really love hotdogs. But they've got to be nicely grilled and the bun should be lightly grilled too. Easterbrooks doesn't disappoint, they know what they're doing with their hotdogs. I like the regular foot long hotdogs, but the topping choices are pretty large for those following the more-is-more philosophy of life (cheddar, chilli, nacho, mexi, pizza, etc). Very disappointed by this place. It was recommended to us by some friends who had eaten there some time ago. I expected to find a diner, in fact it is an old wooden shack that specializes in hot dogs. I expected something simple, but at least clean. I should warn you, this place is not for the faint of heart and some people might find it disturbingly dirty. Service is bad. No welcome, no hello. Cash only. Wow how convenient in 2015 ! How many places do you know that don't accept debit or credit cards ? What a joke ! I didn't have any cash on me, I had to walk all the way back to the botanical garden to find an ATM. Secondly, this place is absolutely disgusting, dirty, smelly, greasy and sticky. I mean filthy dirty. You can see food leftover from previous customers on the tables, and food leftover on the floor probably from days/weeks ago. I don't think anyone ever sweeps the floor in this dive. They might not even have a broom. The salt and pepper shakers, the ketchup and mustard bottle are disgusting and sticky, as are the tables. I haven't seen the kitchen, but quite often you'll find that what you see in the front of the house reflects what you don't see in the back of the house. Probably a sanitary hazard waiting to happen. Finally, onto the food itself. The hot dogs are ok, but honestly it is hard to mess up a hot dog. It's as simple a dish as you'll ever find. The fries and the rest are ok as well, albeit nothing to write home about. Overall this experience is best described as an ordeal. Filthy, rude and only ok for taste. I do not recommend this place, not even to my worst enemy. There are much better diners our there. Hell, Denny's is better than this hell hole. read more

Incomparable! Kind of a generic wiener (foot long) of the type you used to get from the big meat guys, but without the weird gritty bits so common now. Nice. Bun soft but doesn't fall apart (again so unlike the "I Wonder" bread and buns seen in retail today). Selection of toppings wide and pretty much traditional and in high quality and quantity. No "processed cheese product" here. Fries fabulous! Just the right crispness in the outside, just the right texture inside. The flavour is fantastic - they must fry them old-school and not in today's "no-trans, no sats, no flavour" oil-like substance. No need for vinegar, ketchup or mayo. Perfect salt level and not greasy. Try them and see if I'm lying! One thing - I seem to remember a Blue Cheese dog from maybe 10 years ago.
