Finding an honest and dependable mechanic is not easy. Jim is fantastic and I highly recommend his…read moreservices to anyone in Frederick. His prices are fair. He doesn't steer customers to the products that are the most expensive. He encourages customers to buy their own oil/parts if they can to keep prices down and he makes logical recommendations for things you need and the time frame in which they need to be done. He always gets in touch with you before doing something as well. For example, during a routine oil change he looked at the tires on my car, noticed some dry rot, and called immediately to recommend new tires. He gave me some options and an hour later I had two new tires. Lastly, and this is the icing on the cake for me, Jim uses smart phones to take pictures of the things he sees so he can actually show customers what he is talking about. He is the first mechanic I've met that does that and I think it is a nice gesture on his part.

I asked if it was a family business due to the level of service. She replied that it's two families that feel like one big family. It certainly feels like that, and they seem to endeavor to treat customers like family. That's going to make me a regular here. Well a regular when it suits me. The service is top notch, they fit me in the same day for an oil change and tail light that was out, and they don't try to up-sell you on stuff you don't really need done (like pretty much every other garage I have been to does). Honest, timely, and expert work is why they have so many loyal customers. Yelp did not steer me wrong here! I've been to the South location too, and it has been the same excellent experience. They have done some estimates for us and even when we decided to forgo the work, not only did they not charge for the estimate, they also helped us find a reputable place for us to donate our car. It's just a small city family-owned business done right!

I mean, what guy wouldn't want one of the Hellcats or Corvettes they have sitting out front? Perhaps one day... I did, however, buy a new Ford F-150 from them. Price wise, I don't think they're the cheapest place to buy a car, but I think you have to look at everything these days when buying a vehicle. Plus, with resources like True Car, it's pretty easy to see if you're getting hosed or not. I negotiated with them and they came down to right around where I wanted to be for total cost out of the door. What really sold me on Krietz was their family culture at their office. A lot of their employees have been there a long time and that says something about the business and the leadership. I also really liked that it was a full-service spot too that does custom work and routine maintenance. The service department has been honest and communicative about options, etc. For example, my check engine light came on a month ago and I took it in. They diagnosed the issue as a problem with the injectors and they knew it was something that would be covered under warranty, so they let me know they were taking care of it. Lastly, their customer waiting area is very comfortable and they're just a few min walk from Frederick Coffee Co, Glory Doughnuts, Pistarro's, or Family Meal. If you're in the market for a new car, truck, some custom work, or just looking for an oil change/brake job shop, I would definitely recommend Krietz.
