Why have this on the front of your website when I cannot order it?????
    Dennis C.

Lunch was very disappointing this time! I asked about the AYCE Wed Pasta and was informed by the server it's not available which is a surprise since I see it on the front page of their website. I ended up ordering a regular lunch item and it was SMALL. It's like a kids meal size lol....and no side dishes (unless u count the garlic bread). I will give the food quality a decent grade but the quantity was really, really TINY. We left half full....if we were able to order the webadvertised AYCE Pasta that would not be the case!!

I never had a desire to dine at ESM as I didn't have fond memories of the food however due to desperation, we came here to watch game 5 of the NBA finals. Who would have thought they had a big screen TV and the place was empty on game night while all the other bars in aurora are fully booked. To our good fortune, we got a table in the bar area right in front of the big screen. Our waitress was super efficient and nice. I saw her wait on all the tables in the bar area and tend to the bar. Even when the raptors fans came trickle in at 8:30pm and all the tables were taken, she didn't drop the ball once. She definitely deserve employee of the month but unfortunately I didn't catch her name. Now on to the food, I ordered the Hell's chicken which came with steam veggies and your choice of carb. I chose the minestrone soup to start, it is unlimited but after the first taste, I'm ok with just half a bowl. It tasted like soup that came out of a can, not very good. My main was decent, the chicken was a bit spicy for my liking and the texture of the chicken was a bit off but edible. For dessert, I ordered the fried donuts which isn't bad. I don't think I would come back here for food.

Last time I went to an East Side Mario's was also my very first time and that was about 4 years ago now... Dinner was swell and all, but when it was our time to get the bill, we waited over an hour for us to get our receipts sorted and another half an hour to pay for a group of 14. This time, the host of this party of 12 chose this place, because of its family appeal and choice of AYCE soup or salad. Shockingly, even though we had called ahead of time for reservation..., my friend still had to wait for over an hour to get us a table for our party. Wow! I would have never been this patient myself! But since I barely had to wait myself, I will give this place a 5, because it's not always easy to find somewhere to host a party for 12 or more and still be affordable or not at least having one person complaint about anything. This location is in Aurora so it was quite a trek for us since we lived in Scarborough, but the experience was a lot bigger than expected, besides the long wait for a table. The decor and ambience is typical of an American chain restaurant with a mix of tables and booths with multiple TVs showing sports games. The food quality and value were both very children and family/large party friendly. Calories for every item was clearly labelled. Everything seemed to be quite healthy especially with the choice of AYCE soup to keep you warm and hydrated or AYCE salad that keeps you cool and refreshed. For value meals between $12-$20 this is highly affordable and budget-friendly! Each bowl of salad was sizeable, too, and they let you take any remainders home as well! How nice is that! There were many American and Italian classics like Mac & Cheese, burgers, wings, spaghetti or pastas, pizzas and sandwiches to choose from. The calamari were not too deep fried nor crusty. Most food had the right amount of flavours and/or spice. Waitresses would come and add cheese to just about anything and everything you desire it on. They would refill your soups and salads as many times as needed. I can totally see myself bringing my future children here. Pairs can share a healthy balanced meal with soup and salad. My friends and I all enjoyed our time here. The only caveat was the long waiting time and the occasional need to remind our waitress for more soups and/or salads, but our main waitress did a good job, so even though 12% tips were already autograbbed for our party of 12, as to be expected, I still added another 3% tips on to my final payment, which I rarely do. Now, the reason why I personally would give a 5 star was that upon showing my Scotiabank card that's already connected to my scene card, I got 30xs the points due to the loaded offer that I had! Sweet! What could be better than a having an affordable and tasty meal with friends and earning points for future movies and get-together?! Family-friendly indeed!

SOOOO.... We went on a Wednesday night, opt in for the AYCE pasta, but the server was so nice to tell us what the AYCE pasta was all about. Basically, you paid the $12-13 for ONLY THE NOODLE AND SAUCE. If you want protein/ veggie, the first plate you pay $4 extra, the next $3 so on and so forth. As usual, AYCE salad/ soup was included but cannot alternate between the two (ex. if you opt in for salad, you can pick either garden/ Cesar and cannot choose soup in your next round). We still chose AYCE, paid the extra $4 for a protein in our first round only. My boyfriend ended up eating 4 plates LOL. Before you ask, YES you can ask for your last plate of pasta as to-go.

How the mighty have fallen, I used to remember being hyped up on going to East Side Mario's as a treat with my parents, get some yummy pasta and infinite bread and salad to go with it. Yeah sure u still get the all u can eat bread and salad with your meal, but meh. Last few times I've gone the service was crazy slow when it wasn't even busy, in the warmer months there was a bunnnch of fruit flies around , and they gross me out , and that's not cool dude. Prices are okayyyyyish but heck, last time I went and got the baked penne Alfredo it came out cold and with verry little sauce, the cheese on top had literally chilled back to a non melty state, like comonnnn there seems to be less and less locations of ESM to go to, there must be a reason.... Don't blame Boston Pizza for taking your market share, step up your game cuz its only downhill from here as I seez it. Meh, don't bother going here. I'm finished with it now.

Second time coming here with my coworkers and got the spaghetti lunch special for $10. The lunch portion is definitely smaller so you pay for what you get. The pasta is mediocre. I have certainly tried better pastas in other American chains. The pasta I had was more in the oily side. The service here is very attentive. The waiter came to check up on us and asked us if we wanted more bread.

My friends and I went to eat here on a Thursday night and the place was super packed. We waited about 20 minutes to get a table, which was understandable since they were that busy. When we got seated our waiter was extremely friendly! I was amazed by how nice he was and he definitely made the overall experience more enjoyable. The food was also really good! The portions were just right and I loved how they served us bread while we waited.

Great place! The updated look works 4 them. Food is finally up to par.

This time we ordered the Fungi and Margherita pizzas, and both were incredible. The Margherita is always a classic -- fresh, perfectly balanced, and with that amazing crust -- while the Fungi had such rich, earthy flavor and was done perfectly. Of course, the chili oil just takes everything to the next level. We also tried the Crostata al Cioccolato with pistachio for dessert and WOW... absolutely delicious. Rich, chocolatey with that perfect pistachio touch -- such a unique and indulgent combination and the perfect sweet ending to the meal. And good thing I did.. What we ordered: 1. Mussels on special 5/5 The sauce was spicy but not too spicy and so flavourful. The mussels were cooked perfectly. And the yummy house made bread was a delicious vehicle to soak up that sauce 2. Romeo et Giulietta cocktail and Cherry Vermilion cocktail. Both delicious and perfectly balanced. 5/5 3. The salted caramel dessert. 5/5 Make sure you take your spoon all the way to bottom to get all the good stuff. Delish. I'll see you again very soon Locale. I brought a group of 12 for a birthday dinner, and from the moment we arrived, we were treated with utter contempt by a server named Gustavo, who apparently also owns the establishment. The disrespect started immediately. While we were simply organizing our seating (before even ordering), he became visibly angry and hostile. After our appetizers arrived, he completely abandoned the table. Our used plates were never cleared, we were never asked how the food was, and we waited over an hour for our main courses. When we tried to order another round of drinks while waiting, Gustavo told us he was "way too busy" to take our order and that we "needed to figure it out" despite us being ready to order. When I politely mentioned that I hadn't ordered an appetizer and was very hungry, asking if my pizza could come out, he snapped, "You will get your order when all the others come out. I'm not going to push ahead your order for that." The "owner" then had the audacity to lecture us, raising his voice and telling us, "this is what I mean with you guys," because we had adjusted our seats at the beginning of the night. When I finally asked for the bill to escape the situation, he brought me someone else's check. When I pointed out the error, he blamed us again, laughed in our faces, and scoffed. When we told him we wanted to speak to someone above him, he condescendingly told us, "You're not in this industry, you don't know." Save your money and go somewhere where the staff, and the owner actually value their customers. Gustavo is unprofessional, disrespectful, and has no business being in the hospitality industry. Absolutely disgusting behavior.

On a Wednesday evening just past 8:00pm, we arrived at the doors of the restaurant and was greeted by I presume the owner of the business who mumbled something along the lines of them getting ready to close shop. And if we are dining in we should make it a quick one. This is despite the fact, that they were scheduled to close at 9:30, both according to their sign and Google. Anyways, we were seated by the owner and eventually served by the server. To be objective the server was courteous and generally competent, however, he did fail to top up our waters throughout the duration of the meal. Food wise it was above average. The Caesar salad was quite different from most restaurants where there's no croutons, no bacon and no shaved cheese. But I thought it was enjoyable and I like the fact that the salad had traces of anchovy taste. The Margherita pizza was alright. The tomato sauce was refreshing and the cheese tasted right. The flour had a a pretty good floury taste, but the body of the pizza could be a bit more well done. My favourite part of the meal was the Bucatini All'Amatriciana pasta. It's an interesting pasta texture that I've never experience before; clearly homemade. The guanciale gave the pasta a nice umami taste. However, the above average food was not enough to overcome the unwelcoming feeling that hung over us. One thing I forgot to mention is before the meal, I had a couple pieces of garbages from my kids that I wanted to dispose of. The washroom had no garbage bin and on the way out they had a box that resembled garbage bins in a fast food restaurant. I mistakened it for a garbage bin and after I disposed of the garbage, I was told by the same owner that it was not a garbage can. Although I wouldn't say he was totally rude, the statement was blunt and the facial expression and body language pretty much gave it away. One thing that was positive about the experience was at least their transparency toward their non-participation in the tax break government initiative. They had a sign posted right on their main entrance. Mi Casa, Sous casa... my AXX... no wait that's Spanish. Whatever... you know how I feel about Casa Carbone.

The dough was terrible, it dense and tiny bubbly, kinda like baking soda was the leavening agent... I would describe the dough as a dominos thin crust with baking soda added. As for toppings, I would have liked more tomato sauce and cheese to balance out the crust. Would not recommend getting the pizza here. Pistachio Funghi pasta - I only had a couple bites but the pasta was cooked well. The pistachio funghi sauce was tasty as well, pistachio bits added a bit of crunch to the pasta which is nice. For our entrées, we had the Branzino and the Dukkah Roasted Lamb Sirloin with yam chips, and both were cooked to perfection. Our server was fantastic - very patient with a large group like ours, able to tell us right off the bat what is and is not customizable, recommendations of when to order to ensure flow works out. Food: Charbroiled octopus - one of my favorite dishes I tried - perfectly cooked, has a nice char, good meaty bits but not chewy, has a really nice chili oil on it. I can not stress how much I recommend getting this if you enjoy seafood. 5/5. Chorizo appetizer - comes out in a little pig plate with an open flame underneath. The chorizo itself is good with a nice spice, dense meat. The best part of this dish (IMO) is the spiced apple sauce on the side that cuts the richness of the sausage with a sweet and tangy apple and a little spice kick. 4.5/5. Bread - fresh baked bread with butter, a pumpkin jam and cheese. Everything on that plate works so well together. I definitely recommend this as an all rounding pleasing appetizer - 5/5. Beets - the beets were fresh with a vibrant orange colour. The apple, walnut and goat cheese all work together. I do wish this dish had a bit more but it works. 4.5/5. Brussel sprouts - amazing deep fried brussel sprouts - makes me want to always deep fry them for life. The spicy harissa sauce works well with the sprouts. Crunchy peanuts on top add both a texture and nuttiness that is refreshing to the brussel sprouts. 5/5. Oysters - super fresh, absolutely delicious without any condiments needed. Loved them. 5/5. Paella - this is definitely large enough for 2 people to eat so consider sharing unless you have a monster appetite. As with all their plates, it is beautifully constructed. The shrimp are huge and meaty. Mussels are plentiful, lots of chorizo and bay scallops. The rice has that really nice briny seafood flavor from the broth. It was just a teeny tiny bit overly salty to my taste but it's cut with the dollops of sour cream. Has this really nice low level heat that just works without burning your mouth. 4.5/5. Lamb sirloin - great crust on the lamb and cook as well. Flavorful sear and crust on the lamb with a soft tender meaty interior. Can't go wrong with- 5/5. Branzino - delicious flaky and light with a great grill. If you're interested in a fresh fish, this is a good choice. Was a special on the menu - 5/5. Prices: Fine dining pricing but you get the excellent food, service and experience for the price.
