They had me drive 30min to get to the hotel to say they were going to pull the call to see what can be done to then turn around and because the reason for the say was a group of girls celebrating the bachelorette in Miami. Clean. Great size rooms. Modern and cool technology options in the room. Sugar the top bar is a beautiful view and atmosphere. We didn't eat or drink here but would recommend or try another time. Sushi looked good passing by. The pool area is nice. Disappointed no wait staff coming around for food/drinks. Was at the pool for a few hours with no staff in sight. There was at one point a guy who set up towels for a group next to me but didn't see him before or after that. So I would suggest to the hotel that they should put this more in to effect. I would like to point out and applause a key member of East's staff, Edgar. He is really a super star employee. He is genuinely nice and wants to take care of the guests. He helped us with getting up to our room when we checked in and I saw him and asked if I needed any help while coming back up to the room later that night. He was even here in the morning to bring up a piece of the stroller that we had left in the car to the room. He needs a paid day off as it seemed he was there overnight haha ! He really put the standard customer service to a wow and appreciated his hospitality during our stay ! So thank you, Edgar ! The hotel is lucky to have you! We had a snack at the pool restaurant the day we checked in.. Pizza was excellent. Calamari was good. And please google what sweet breads are if you think it is actually "sweet bread" .... ew .... the waiter thought I was Spanish and I knew what it was... no bueno ... drinks were good ! I won't even mention the Hotel experience because it was overshadowed by a disaster whit the Valet parking service. We arrived onJune 7th to spend 2 nights and dropped the car off with the valet. As usual, I did a walk around the car to ensure there wasn't any damage, no damage was present. As a matter of fact, we picked up the vehicle from the body shop the previous Saturday and it was freshly painted!! On Sunday morning at check out, our car was already parked out front. Same as I always do, I walked around the car and inspected it for damage to discover it had been crashed on the front passenger side of the bumper! Valet Door man Niray Altahona was working the front and I brought the damages to his attention. Immeadiately! He got defensive! "Well, it says here that the car was like that when you brought it in"**holds up small shriveled piece of paper with a scribble on what appeared to be a car diagram.... No! it most definitely wasn't, I replied. I ran my thumb over the damage and a bunch of black residue over the damage came off, indicating it was clearly fresh damage. Niray Altahona sprung into action and began to rub off the black scuff with his clothing and said..."look, it came right off, its nothing" What the hell are you doing? Why would you clean that off before we took pictures and the manager saw it? And what do you mean nothing? What about the scratches and scuffs under??? Get me your manager!! Eventually, the ever unhelpful manager Georgios Atzemouglou responded to the front. "Well, it says here on the paper that the damage was there when the car arrived, and we scan all documents into the system." YeAh, and the driver who parks the car takes that little piece of paper with him when he drives into the parking garage, paired with the key correct? "Yes". So it's completely possible that the driver could alter that little piece of paper before turning it in and scanning it, after parking the car, correct?, "Yes." "Don't worry sir, the parking lot has a very sophisticated camera system and it catches everything from the moment your car enters the garage." Great! Then show me the video of my car driving into the parking garage with the damage when I arrived on Friday! "I can't show it to you sir. But don't worry, this is a 1.2 Billion Dollar investment, we do things right. We'll submit the claim and you'll have a response within 24-48 hours. If you need anything else please send me an email." We also had to send him a picture of the damage to the vehicle that luckily we took before the brilliant Niray attempted to coverup for his coworker. Should we get a police report??"no sir, our claim is sufficient"(big mistake on my part). 48 hours went by and no contact. 24 more hours, My wife sends an email to Georgios. 24 more hours, my wife sends a second email to Georgios and still no response. 24 more hours, I call the hotel. At first, very polite lady answers, I explain my issue and she after several minutes on hold, a man answers..I explained my situation and that It's been more than double the time Frame we were given. "Yeah, you are the BMW? Yeah, we got the claim and we'll review it and I'll call you back". In the afternoon, another lady with zero phone customer service skills calls my wife, "Hi, we got the claim and they are going to contact you in 2 days" my wife tried asking for more details since it's been a week and she didn't have any answers.... and here we are!!! Have a big feeling we are going to get screwed with this. So hopefully I can at least help other people. Clearly the whole luxury customer service vibe they are trying to put on display at that EAST HOTEL is nothing but a facade! If this is how they handle scratching someone's car! The worst hotel. Don't stay at East Miami. The staff is extremely rude. When you think of Miami you think of pool, relaxing good food. After a long flight We went to the pool around 6:30 the pool rules said from sunrise to sunset. The kids jumped in the pool and the pool lady came and said the pool is close and I'm leaving in five minutes if you don't leave in five minutes I'm calling security" in my mind I'm thinking... 1. There are other ways to talk to a guest.. that is really just jumping in the pool with a five, a six and an eleven years old. 2. Is 6:30 PM and sunset is at 8:30 PM and 3.why she is calling security? I said: "you don't need to call security I'm calling the front desk and ask until what time the pool is close? I called and at the front desk and the lady that answered said the pool is open until 7:30" at that time it was 7:22 PM. At 7:23 the pool lady approached me again and said "I'm leaving" (with a very rude attitude) at this point I'm furious I said "I called the front desk and they said the pool close at 7:30 we still have time" as soon as she left the security supervisor came straight at me and said: "the pool is close you guys need to get out now" I said: "I called the front desk and it's until 7:30. Can I speak to a supervisor" and very proud he said "I'm the supervisor" ... I said so you are the person that I need to talk about the terrible costumer service and he said: "I'm the security supervisor" I took the kids out of the pool and left. Far and away one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at in Miami. I wish we had the time to stay longer. The check-in process, as well as the tour of our room by Jorge, was friendly, welcoming, and made us feel like we mattered as guests. The restaurant Quinto had excellent pizza, wine, and apps. We had a residence suite that was incredibly spacious with two balconies and tech friendly. We will be back. read more

The worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Made a reservation for a suite 3 months in advance. Same day as the reservation (i was on my way to the hotel) they sent me an email stating my reservation has been cancelled. I reserved a corner suite and they downgraded me to a regular one. Upon arrival they told me they "accidentally overbooked". On top of that they tried to charge me MORE for the downgraded suite. I asked for everything on paper because I already had screenshots of my prior reservations and all of their prices. The managers/staff were so rude and not helpful at all even though it was their mistake. I believe the managers name was Amanda. She was completely useless. She offered a free breakfast voucher. I was born and raised in Miami so i know the mentality of these people. They're scammers. Don't bother coming here. Location is only good if you don't have a car. $50 a day parking fees. Cleaning not done on some days and the room wasn't properly prepared when we checked in (we were missing shower gel, detergent, rob, toiletries ...) Very basic, small and old gym. Some unit have water filter tab otherwise you don't get drinking bottle water. Staff and customer service can definitely improve as well. Overall is definitely not worth the price you pay! read more

We are well seasoned travelers (and slight hotel snobs lol), & have a YouTube channel called Roam Locally - travel & lifestyle vloggers! We live in Miami and decided to do a staycation in Brickell. After extensive research, we knew we just had to stay at the East Hotel. From the moment you walk in, you're floored by the grand scale and beauty of the lobby. We stayed on the 35th floor, and upgraded to a corner room as recommended by Renata who works at the front desk, and she was spot on! The views were spectacular, both day and night. The location is PRIME, you can literally walk to several amazing restaurants and enjoy shopping at the nearby Brickell City Center (the East hotel is actually connected to it, so you have direct access from the hotel's elevator). The pool area is a sunbather's paradise, it's open but yet offers a sense of privacy. The potential for amazing photos for the Gram are endless, trust me, I know this stuff! Okay, so back to Renata. When you stay here, don't do yourself a disservice by not having a chat with her. She's extremely knowledgable and super friendly! Upon checking into our room, she called to make sure we loved it, and we did FASHO!! Renata is a fellow foodie like myself, and made excellent recommendations for us. She also mentioned that the East Hotel is known for their rooftop bar, Sugar. Unfortunately, we didn't get to check it out during our stay, but ran into some locals who spoke highly of it - we'll be back to check it out soon though! The hotel offers valet parking at $45 per day, and you have as much in and out access as needed. Bugs on bed and in bathroom. Service at this hotel is non-existent. Front desk personnel doesn't answer when phoned from the room. When asked anything in person in the lobby, you are met with blank looks and asked to wait. Lobby is very dark. High tech access to get to rooms. I am on my 2nd night at this Hotel. I have been staying here since 6/2/2022. The hotel and amenities are great but customer service is horrible. I think staff is prejudice if you dont speak Spanish . I am so absent how the hotel check in folks, restaurant and sky bar checkins dont ask if we are staying at the hotel and assume we cant afford this bloody place. Beautiful hotel - industrial meets modern. I've stayed at the property 2x for business. Each time the staff was attentive, exceptionally helpful with requests or questions. The rooms are large. I was upgraded to something that resembled an apartment. The thread count was at the level of say a Ritz or The Edition. Comfy. The top of the hotel is a hip roof top with a great vibe, comfortable lounge seating and as you'd imagine remarkable views. Finally the food was very good, I avoid buffets at all costs, but their breakfast served buffet style was outstanding. The staff (Vicky very sweet host) allowed me in before opening to sneak a snack for my am workouts. Nice touch. Nothing's cheap in SFL and this place is no different but the value is certainly there. I've stayed at East many many times reserving the standard rooms, Bay View Rooms, 2 BD residence, and now the Corner King room. Over the years, I recommended this hotel to many others. It's been a little over a year since my last stay so I decided to come back. Things have changed...some for better like the updated pool area. However, the rooms have not been well-maintained and it shows. My toilet had issues since day 1. Many calls for repairs but only temp solutions. The TV didn't work 4 out of the 6 day stay. Many calls to get that fixed, as well. Once, I had to wait 2 hrs to a tech to come. The shower has an infestation of these small black flies with big wings. I had to kill them during each shower. The front desk staff aren't on top of it. They aren't informed and their communication isn't the greatest either. I've sworn by this hotel for so long but it's definitely gone downhill while the rates continue to increase. A big disappointment! On the positive side - their new pool staff are great!! read more

I'm extremely dissatisfied and outraged about my stay. I decided to stay for a whole week and it was the worst decision of my life. I should of listened to the reviews people made stating that this hotel is money hungry and makes up false charges upon checking out and keeps people's deposit. They said the deposit was $150 a night but charged me way over the $1050 for 7 nights and kept it all. I've been to Miami well over 10 times and will NEVER SUGGEST THIS HOTEL TO ANYBODY. on top of that the elevator closed on us multiple times during our stay like literally closed on our arms and torsos so clearly the motion sensor on the elevator doesn't work. The pools and hot tubs are also way smaller than pictured online. Hotel staff is very rude and I don't think I could say anything positive about this hotel. read more

The room was very nice as well as the pool. The security and restaurant staff were incredibly nice, especially our server Paul for brunch. But the front desk ladies were pretty horrible, I think mostly because of the incredibly painful "security policy". For instance, I ordered Uber eats yesterday and they wouldn't let him deliver it to my room, so I ran down to get it because it felt bad for the guy in the lobby for 15 min trying to get up. I forgot my wallet and was stuck in the lobby for an entire hour because Of the "security policy", very painful. My bf and other room guests had the same exact issue and our room keys didn't work half the time. Eventually as escorted up to my room by security like I wasn't paying over a grand a night for a beautiful suite. Again, hotel is beautiful, door was great but would never ever stay here again. This hotel was clean and upscale but not for families AT ALL! Half naked women (STILL STAND BY THIS REMARK -bottom of boob totally hanging out even though their reply disagrees) roaming the halls in itsy bitsy outfits to go partying. Long wait for elevator to get kids in bed bc so many people going up to bar scene. This didn't even bother me as much as the room that is marketed with DOUBLE BEDS and they are clearly twins. The manager, Wayne, ADMITTED these were twin beds. I had to sleep with one leg on the floor so my daughter could sleep in bed with my husband and I. The property was beautiful, well kept and in a nice location to some great restaurants but not accommodating to a family. Staff was rude and only wanted to make a buck- didn't care to make my family comfortable. Disappointing experience. Won't return! read more

Very beautiful upscale hotel in Downtown Miami located in Brickell, surrounded by plenty of malls, restaurants and high rise apartments. We noticed this hotel was a lot cheaper and nicer than a lot of places on the beach. There are a lot of one way streets so traffic was a nightmare at certain times of the day. We stayed in a corner king room on the 35th floor and the room was beautiful! The view of the city and river, the wraparound balcony, the soak tub and rainfall shower were all very nice. The bed is low but comfortable. This hotel is tech savvy and modern. I also appreciated the safety precautions this hotel takes in order to keep guests safe. The elevators are controlled by a kiosk and there are no floor buttons in them. To operate it, you have scan your room key. It tells you what elevator to go to, then it automatically takes you to your floor. Therefore, someone off the street can not access it and if anyone is expecting guests, they have to come down and escort them up. Check in and check out were all very quick and the front desk staff was very nice. One thing I found somewhat odd was the housekeeping staff. Every hotel that I have ever been to had the room cleaned in the morning or during the early part of the afternoon. One day, ours did not arrive until 5pm when we were in the room resting before dinner. She came back at 5:30 while we were getting dressed, then again at 6pm...we still were not dressed. Then, the housekeeper told security that we declined room service 3 times and they gave us a courtesy call to check on our wellbeing. We appreciated the call but...we were still in the room. That's all. We took uber/Lyft everywhere but I can definitely see what some of these reviews are referring to regarding the valet. The valet guys here were pretty rude and had no sense of urgency. Usually at upscale places like this, the valet opens your door for you when you pull up. These guys just stared at the door. I witnessed a few guests have to ask the valet multiple times to bring their cars. I also witnessed a valet get somewhat snappy when asked to help load bags into someones car. If you don't have your own car, I would definitely recommend staying here! read more

I heard so much about this hotel and went out of my way to make sure I stayed at the East during my next trip to Miami. I was beyond underwhelmed. I called the front desk from my room (multiple times) and the phone rang and rang for 5+ minutes with no answer. I went downstairs and the staff wasn't even helping guests, which I don't understand why my call wasn't answered. I requested a cup of hot water to make some tea before bed and they told me that hot water is only available at restaurants and they are closed so I'm pretty much SOL. Room service closed at 1030, which seems fairly early. It would be nice to be informed of this information at check in. I'm extremely dissatisfied for this being a "five star" hotel. What the stupid bitch didn't tell me is they would be holding $150 PER DAY! I'm staying for 6 days. That's $900 dollars. I think that's "extra explanation" information. The only thing going for East is that the staff are very friendly and do their best to help. The rooms are so small. If you need to dress/undress in private, there is the very narrow bathroom or the shower. There is no place to disrobe to get in the shower without having to wrap a towel around and make a dash for it. Working the individual lights in the room takes a doctorate in lighting and housekeeping came at 5:35 in the afternoon. ( Though was very nice). The elevator system is for the birds, especially if you are in a hurry, forgot something or have friends on different floors. You have to go to the lobby and have a clerk clear you to go back up to a different floor. Your key ONLY gets you to your floor. If it is busy, check in time, it can be a 15-20 minute wait for the elevator. I was here for a wedding that started late because the flower girl could not get on the elevator! There was a line of 30 people waiting. Would not recommend. read more

Our room was very dark, shower floor slippery, on our last day the housekeeper didn't bother vacuuming, the buffet breakfast on the morning we tried it was very overpriced for a so so selection of almost ice cold food and this was first thing in the morning, the high tech elevator closed on my arm and it took over 20?minutes for them to find a first aid kit to help stop the bleeding. I really enjoyed staying here & will be back. The hotel is new and it shows. The room had great lighting, fresh with no signs of wear. There is a cute nook with table vs a plain rectangle desk. There is a wall installment that once opens reveals a coffee machine with cups/ sugars etc. Bathroom has great counter space for makeup, Plenty towels , Malin+goetz shower supplies, large body mirror. Hooks on wall for jackets, closet has a built in luggage rack to hold up your suitcase. Individual balcony. The check in was easy, my interaction with the staff and via phone was professional+ punctual. I'm surprised the reviews from other yelp'ers seem to be so unsatisfied. Oh and the room service was good! The chocolate chip cookies are like home made . I recently stayed at the fountain bleau and was really disappointed in how bad room service food (still) is. If you're not familiar with Miami or downtown - the hotel is located as close as you can get to the city center shopping. I use to live in Brickell so I know it can get a bit noisy so expect to hear some car horns. read more

I've stayed here a total of three different times, and each time has been inconsistent. The sound speakers are always never charged. There has never been soap in the kitchen sink. Only sometimes there has been the coffee pot and only one time there has been one tea kettle. Not to mention the floor has always been dirty after housekeeping and they have always ignored all my notes. Notes for me asking for extra towels, shampoo and ect. Plus house keeping didn't even finish making our bed... they left the sheet by the tv stand and I had to ask several times for extra TP and several .. while telling us other things. This has been the most inconsistent hotel i have ever been to. And after complaining several times to the front desk about our inconveniences they only offered us day-old pastries... also they bringing us dirty crusty blanket (who knows what's been on those blankets). Anyways after three hours of arguing with the front desk and the front desk manager and King about all of my concerns and disappointments with all three of my stays.. and after having to ask them how to make it right several times they've lied to me about King being in a meeting with employees. But when King finally call me back she said she was busy with paperwork and had no authority to make things right with us, even though she told me that she was the head manager in charge of the hotel. Apparently only Richard is the one that can make all the decisions and is never available.. I've been dealing with this since 5:30 AM and it's now 9 AM this is not acceptable and the worst service ever. This is just been typical Miami service where they make us feel like we are the ones inconveniencing them. Sorry but in the real world that's not how it works in order for businesses to survive you have to treat your guests with respect so they want to come back and spend their money and continue to come to their establishment and recommend it to all their friends. Went to Sugar, their roof top bar / restaurant because of all the hype on social media. Went for brunch with my sister. All I can day is that the view and ambiance is amazing, drinks were good, food was ehhh decent and service was bad. Starting from the hostess to bartenders! We were wearing just jeans and tanks tops (it is after all Miami) and thought ok, maybe they didn't appreciate how we looked. We clearly looked like locals not tourists. However, talked to another friend afterwards about my experience and they too had the same option as us! Would go again just to maybe enjoy a drink or two if the weather is amazing before going to eat somewhere else. read more

The only problem we had was with the room keys which kept needing to be reinstated at the front desk. We were told to not put the keys close to our phones or credit cards. But ti got ridiculous. I am not sure why this place only has 3 stars because it such a nice venue! My friends and I ate SUGAR last night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was AMAZING!!!! We had the shrimp and salmon croquetas, the spring rolls, bang bang shrimp, mushroom bao buns, salmon crunchy roll, prawn dumplings and a poke bowl. Each dish was better than the last! And don't me started on the drinks, talk about WELL CRAFTED. I highly reccomend the East of Miami or the You Fancy Huh? if you like your drinks strong. FYI you need to spend a minimum of $75 on drinks for certain seating areas. But the menu pricing makes that easy to achieve. Overall, we had a great experience! Excellent staff, amazing views of Miami from the 40th floor, and amazing food. We will definitely be back to try EAST other restaurants! read more
