We went on a weekend getaway to enjoy ourselves and have a good time. The hotel is in a good location and the suite was comfortable, but everything else is below average. Upon arrival, the valet were attentive but there was no one to help us to get our bags to our room. The valet had to improvise and help. There was no one to take our bags, so eventually the person that checked us in, took our bags up to the room. The reception staff is not attentive and they seem annoyed to take care of guests. We had to ask if someone could check us in, since no one offered! The hotel has a cafe, restaurants and bars. There are 2 sides, so there are guests that get confused navigating the building. It is connected to a shopping center and close to restaurants, so that is convenient. The value of the suite for how much it costs is not worth it. We did not get housekeeping and had to ask for it. When we got it, we didn't get extra toiletries or enough towels for the remainder of our stay. I had stayed at other hotels in different price points and I have had better service and value for what is paid. read more

The hotel is located in a very nice area walkable distance to just about everything. Upon arrival the front desk was amazing, the people held doors, showed me how to use my elevator, the view from my room was nice, and the room itself was great. The staff was very friendly and had great suggestions on what to check out as I was on a trip to clear my head. I didn't have anything planned but since it was prime location there was a list of things to do. The one complaint was I was solo I'm not sure if that is what caused a lot of confusion at the pool?¿ most of the groups were taken care of immediately while it took almost an hour to get a menu. The pool area itself was nice and the food was okay. The gym however was a lot nicer than most hotels . It had a great variety of equipment and the times I went it wasn't too full however I've heard it's super busy in the mornings. The hotel also has a nice bar on the rooftop with great views. The times I went were fun and amazing even on a Monday it got pretty busy. The cleaning staff was also super sweet and accommodating and they texted me when to clean my room or when they missed me because the room had a do not disturb button. Had good views , cool tub, rainfall shower , etc. Overall really great hotel . High tech you can choose the lights in your room . From my previous stays in other hotels this one has the nicest mirrors for pictures. I'd recommend especially on the weekends it's close to everything ! read more

Stayed in the Residences for a special birthday weekend celebrating a friend's 30th. Being my first time at the hotel, I was super excited being located in the heart of Brickell and the added fun of taking the elevator down into the mall (need to buy extra clothes in a pinch). Also a plus that Sugar is located on the rooftop. The rooms were clean, balcony's provide awesome views, accessibility very welcoming and easy, my only complaint was the pool staff. Not once were we ever asked if we'd like to order, how we were doing, if we needed towels, even after having stayed there for 3 days in a row hungover. If asked, we would have gladly ordered. We ended up going to a different hotel pool for a day of fun! read more

After our last visit to EAST, my daughter and I were able to make our wish come true and do a stay-cation at this beautiful, upscale hotel for a weekend! It's located in the heart of Brickell and connected to the Brickell City Centre for shopping and restaurants. You have everything located in one place for convenience! Our room was everything we hoped for. We had a fantastic Miami city and Miami River view with a nice sized balcony, 30 floors up! The Miami night lights were incredible! We had breakfast on the balcony two mornings in a row overlooking Miami. It was amazing. The king bed had the perfect mattress, giving me the best sleep I've had in a long time. That was very important to me. The room was very well designed with lots of storage areas. They also have blackout curtains. The bathroom was large with huge counter space. Quality mirrors thruout with vanity lights in the bathroom. The toilet was higher, larger, and quality made. It was in a large cubicle separate with a privacy door. The best water closet of any hotel we have stayed at. The shower cubicle was amazing with the shower head built into the ceiling, so the water rained down on you! There was also a regular shower head if you wanted to shower like you do at home. There was a huge, built-in coffee closet with cups and coffee-maker for coffee or tea lovers. Also, there was a pull out drawer with a safe in it. The counter above the long dresser had room for suitcases or your personal belongings. Besides that, there was a regular closet as well. For your dining pleasure, the EAST has 2 upscale dining rooms plus a rooftop patio bar . The Tea Room is a speak-easy and a very sought-after place to be seen in Miami because of the exquisite views and delicious food and drinks. It is located on the 40th floor. You go up in the special star-studded elevator! Close to the Tea Room is Sugar, the very popular rooftop patio bar where everyone loves to hang out and listen to music while sipping delicious drinks. For a very different vibe, the Quinto is downstairs and is a gorgeous fantasy-style South American jungle with large, comfortable wooden furniture with lots of pillows for comfort! It has lights strung in the palm trees and foliage for night lighting. The food is delicious! The hotel service was gracious and attentive. We had no complaints. We wish to thank Juan Alvarez for his kindness and assistance and Cynthia at the front desk for her help in checking us in. We look forward to going back again in the near future. Only thing i dislike : No fridges in regular rooms nor king plus rooms .. i was completely thrown off guard about that because this is an expensive very nice hotel youd think there would at least be a mini fridge.. because i had brought a birthday cake & staying 1 week. We were visiting the area from Arizona for my birthday so I wanted to find a nice spot we could stay at with a nice view with a balcony and this spot was completely amazing. I have to say we made a great choice, staying here. It was in the heart of the city in the Brickell area. We had fast and easy Uber access to get us around the city to any of the destinations we had planned on our itinerary. The service was outstanding from the front desk, housekeeping, the restaurants we visited to the bar in the pool area, as well as, the rooftop bar. 5 star ambience including the room and lobby but 3 star service. Astoundingly beautiful design in an incredibly nice neighborhood but with some lapses on service. 5 star ambience: Even before you get to the lobby, this place is astoundingly hip and beautiful. Right next to the valet there was an outdoor bar area with chairs that I wanted to swipe to take home...high backed kitchen style chairs made from highway sign metal. Inside the lobby is a sort of zen experience, with a calm mellow bar at one end and an understated check-in desk at the other end. In between there are minimalist giant ottomans. The rooms are decorated to perfection. The view is jaw droppingly beautiful too, with floor to ceiling windows. My only room complaint was the bathroom was a little too hip and almost an open design to the room (no matter how close you are with your spouse or travel mate, that's a little too much openness : ) Even the elevators are incredibly cool...you put in your destination on a console in the lobby, the robot elevator takes you there, with no floor buttons inside. On the trip up you'll be staring at the infinity reflecting lights on the walls. 3 star service: Front desk check-in and concierge experience were both good. Bar service and event planning was not so good. A very polite multi-lingual staff checked up in seamlessly. There were huge problems both finding and getting prompt help from event staffers. Bar and restaurant staffers seemed to know very little about who/what/where for the rest of the hotel. To cap off the poor service, going into the nightclub / bar on the roof to see Miami's most amazing wraparound rooftop view, I was told in a fairly rude manner that I was barred at the door because I was wearing expensive men's sandals, not closed toe shoes. Just for reference, the rest of the outfit was not shorts and a t shirt and was business casual. I've been before to Sugar (the rooftop bar), it's not particularly even business casual dress. The security guard even had the gall to say "there's a Zara in the mall downstairs if you want to go buy some sneakers" ...seemed to be a case of bizarre literal interpretation of a "rule" (probably about beachwear and flip flops) without using common sense. read more

Beware of False Mini Bar Charges -- Would Not Stay Here Again I really wanted to love this hotel. I stayed at EAST Miami in Brickell for a friend's wedding with a large group, and while the actual stay was enjoyable, what happened after has left a very bad taste. This hotel adds false mini bar charges and refuses to refund them. I shared a double room with a friend. We never touched the mini bar. Didn't open it. Didn't move anything. We don't drink alcohol or soda -- yet we were charged for multiple items, including soda and even Macallan whiskey (really?). Who randomly drinks Macallan and forgets? We checked with the front desk before leaving, and I specifically asked them to confirm any charges. They mentioned room service and pool service -- nothing about the mini bar. They said they'd email the final receipt, but that never happened. Which leads me to believe they added these charges after we checked out. When I contacted them about the $60 in mini bar charges, they refused to refund it and instead told me they'd "start an investigation." It's been weeks. I highly doubt anything will come of that. It feels like they're hoping I'll just drop it. What's worse is how petty this all feels. Our total bill was around $1800 and they're fighting over $60 in fake charges? It's dishonest and disappointing. Please be warned: - Always get a printed copy of your bill before you leave. - Don't trust that they'll "email it later." - If your room has a mini bar, ask to have it removed or monitored daily. It's sad because this hotel could've earned a glowing review from me. But after this experience, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If they're willing to nickel-and-dime guests with bogus charges, it makes you question how they run the rest of their business. read more

UPDATE: I have been contacted by the hotel and they insured me the employee did not follow their policy before entering a guests room and the situation has been handled accordingly. ......................................... The location for this hotel is great but the staff have their own way of doing things at this establishment! STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! I have stayed at the East Miami hotel twice within the past year and both times I have come across bugs and/or coaches the come from hiding upon me checking in. This displays the lack of maintenance and sanitation being conducted at this hotel. Additionally a MAN from guest services took it upon himself to enter into my room as I was undressed to take a shower while I had the DO NOT DISTURB signage on my door. I had already ordered towels and toilet paper which the SAME gentleman had just brought to my room. The first time he knocked and waited for me to come to the door. He then returned with more towels without me asking and starts entering my room. I yell and he walks back out of the room. I immediately call guest services and ask the manager to contact me. The manager on duty named Marvin NEVER CONTACTED ME. I finally talk to another manager name Dan who asked me to write a statement so they can investigate. Love this hotel! It's very modern & has an earthy aesthetic. The gym was an open space with clean & newer modeled machines. It's best to go early to beat the crowd. I was able to enjoy the small breakfast buffet once. It wasn't an amazing selection, but maybe it depends on the day. Wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy all the amenities, but I'll definitely be back. Also, you might spot a couple celebrities lodging here if you're into that kind of thing. read more

I was in town to meet a friend from Colombia. Wanting to provide a great experience, I decided to book a room at East Miami. The room I booked, the Bay King, boasted spectacular views of the city, bay, and the sea. This included a balcony where I was able to take in the sunrise, and I was able to appreciate the nighttime landscape. The room is very spacious. It has a sizable bedroom that leads out to the balcony. The bed was comfortable, and it had blackout curtains, which was perfect as I mainly slept in the daytime while in Miami. The bathroom area is right next to the bedroom. I was able to relax in the hot tub, which sat next to a large window showing spectacular views of the bay. There is nothing like taking in such a view while in a hot tub, and sipping on a nice drink. It was a similar experience to when I went stayed in Live Aqua (Fiesta Americana) in Monterrey, Mexico. The suite that I rented for my friend and her family, was pretty much what you would expect from a luxury apartment. It had a living room, which led to a balcony. The bedroom was spacious, with a king bed which was comfy. The bathroom was big, and had all the amenities one could need. There was a remote and a pad that controlled everything, from the lighting to the blackout curtains in the bedroom and the living room area. A plus was the welcome note, which included a chocolate bar. It was delicious. I did not order room service here, as I opted to eat in person at the restaurant on site, Quinto. I also dined out in town several times while I was out and about with my friend and her family. This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I will definitely be staying here on my next trip to Miami. East Miami, and it's upscale enclave Brickell, is a gem in this fine southeastern town. read more

HELL YOU CHOOSE TO PAY FOR NASTY TO CUSTOMERS ENVIRONMENT A supposedly fun thing to do that I'd never do again I appreciate the will to do a mixed use building, where hotel uses are complemented by and complementing those of a mall, cocktail bars and swimming pool club. However, these overlappings and adjacencies need to be well managed. I am afraid that being the advantages quite exciting here, the problems created to staff and guests by a poor digital system and dysfunctional protocols and management are very significant. To the extend that I would not recomendad neither geting a job here (in case you are in the position to choose) or staying here as a guest. ELEVATOR This is a real problem. This hotel has two bars on the 40th floor. From 6:30 pm on, the 6 public elevators that cater to guests are also used by those coming and leaving the bars; meaning that if you want to leave your room during late afternoons and evenings (quite likely), you might have to wait for 25 minutes -no exaggeration- to get in an elevator. Then the elevator is packed like a sardine can, and it stops literally in every single floor, where you find a mass of desperate hotel guests willing to kill to get in the elevator. Not fun. UNSOLICITED PARTYING This hotel gained a reputation as a party place. Along the lines of Ian Schrager's inventions. No problem with that, but be aware that you might be awoken at 1:30 am by the neighboring guests hosting a 30 people party in their room and balcony. It happened to us, and because of the elevators' issue (read above), it took 30 minutes to the hotel's team to reach the 30th floor and kindly ask our neighbors to finish their lively gathering. Not nice for us, but neither to the hotel's employees. I must say that the employees are great people and very professional. I believe they would be grateful if the hotel management hired a consultant to improve the systems. Until that happens my advise is to avoid this hotel. P.D. Another time I'll talk about last Friday morning's fire alarm (caused, according to a hotel employee, by a guest smoking in their room) that forced me to walk 28 floors down, to reach the lobby, to learn that it was just a false alarm. I appreciate the kindness of the hotel's staff, but more accurate fire detection systems would be helpful in a building like this. Message to the hotel management: Next time you built a hotel, less of expensive-wood-and-stone-paneling and better domotics!!!! Note: PR PROPAGANDA: After I published this review, the hotel's community manager wrote the PR-style response that you can read below. I wrote them intrigued to see how the hotel management would react. They never wrote back. My impression is that they write these responses to each of the reviews in the massive amount of negative reviews this hotel gets. But they actually could not care less. EAST hotel was our first Miami base for 4 days during our anniversary getaway (last week of March). Eversince I stayed in EAST Hong Kong a few years back, I knew I had to keep following their developments and when I knew they finally had a US property, I was set on going there to experience the same hospitality. Overall, just like their Hong Kong property, the hotel is gorgeous and incredibly modern. From the elevators to their room lighting, it's all tech. We got the corner King Room and was assigned to City Views. While I loved all the Brickell light and views, I still would have wanted to have been given the option if we wanted Bay Views during check-in but wasn't. Still, the only person who I'd actually want to commend was Marvin during check-in, greeted us Happy Anniversary and gave us a late check-out at 3PM. Nice gesture. Everything else was then all glam. The room is impressive, the whole balcony and being on the 27th floor was incredible, and our deep soak tub all added to the charm. There was no anniversary greeting or note or any thing at all. Made me wonder if we should have stayed at Mandarin Oriental instead to continue our MO Anniversary tradition. Either way, we enjoyed our stay because we chose to. The pools were wonderful and when we found ourselves a nice spot early mornings. Otherwise it gets pretty packed and crowded. We ordered food by the poolside from Quinto (prosciutto pizza with mushrooms, chicken tenders and fries + pina colada) but it was just okay. We intentionally didn't go to Sugar because unlike the HK property, this one required $100 minimum amount per person to enter, regardless if you're a guest and despite the allure of it all, there are better ways to spend $200++ (like renting a private boat for 2 hours with your own private Captain which we happily did!) than just that. Location is pretty good and a quick easy Uber/Lyft ride wherever, if you choose not to drive as well. We liked going downstairs to the Brickell City Centré Mall for quick buys and got our daily coffee from Starbucks at The Shops at Mary Brickell Village. Lastly, quality of sleep was just okay. There were blackout curtains thankfully but the bed and pillows were way too soft. The shower pressure (was telling my husband I had my best rain shower at East Hong Kong so was expecting the same naturally) was unfortunately a let down and the drainage situation wasn't really good. Like while you're showering it could really leak the entire floor if you're not watching out for the water to drain. Lastly, during the last day of our stay, March 30th, my husband and I actually found some broken glasses while swimming in the pool and we were almost cut and could have had major bleeding. We have pictures and videos of this. Eventually one kid from another group got hurt and there were pending 'negotiations' happening during the time. They eventually decided to send people to 'take care of it' and closed off the pool for awhile. Was alarming that they weren't checking how safe the pools were early mornings especially considering there were a lot of families with their kids. Our guess was perhaps some drunk customers threw some bottles in the pool hence all that glass. Overall, it was nice and good to cross off my list but we didn't feel the heart and soul of the place. Was it Instagramable? Without a doubt. Was service memorable? Unfortunately not. If we ever have the chance to come back, I'd sincerely wish for staff and service to be warmer and better. :) read more

We are checking out today after a 4 night stay at East and as I write this review I'm really struggling to find good things to say about this place. The room itself is nice and large. It's great to have a kitchen and the two bathrooms are so useful since there are 3 of us. There are many issues with the rooms though, as follows: 1. We faced a construction site and for the last 4 days I've listened to more chainsaw and hammer noises than I have in almost 9 years living in NYC. Additionally, there is some strange droning noise that is so loud and constant we basically can't use our balcony or keep the sliding door open. The front desk staff said they couldn't move us and so we had to deal with it day and night, night and day. 2. Rooms have lots of water damage. Ceiling, walls, even the floors. 3. Bathroom door doesn't even close and we gave up trying to call someone because nobody ever answers the phone at this hotel. Ever. 4. Housekeeping comes intermittently (they didn't come at all yesterday) and it doesn't appear that they clean any of the dishes / kitchen stuff. On the plus side: 1. Location is great. I definitely prefer this area to South Beach. 2. Pool and surrounding area is beautiful! 3. After discussing with numerous front desk staff I was able to get a slightly discounted rate based on the construction situation but $1k a night for this place is nuts. I'm still not sure why we are paying as much as I paid at the Tokyo Peninsula Hotel. Overall this place is not worth the crazy rates and we definitely won't stay here again. read more

We booked a King Bay room for 2 nights! The view was great, both city & ocean view. Our room was clean & bed was comfy. We got the chance to go have a drink at rooftop bar, Sugar, & they were really good... the downfall was our experience at the pool.... The pool & hot tub were great but the service was very slow and our "server" was not very attentive. I had to get up to go order our drinks & when they were no where to be found 20 minutes later, I had to get up and ask for them again. Honestly the server just didn't seem to care. I am in the service industry so i always give people a break but this was just straight up bad service. Other than that, everything was good. read more

East, Miami is now my fav place to stay when visiting Miami. Upon arrival I was greeted by valet staff to help carry my luggage directly to the front desk... this was the sweetest since I had two large suitcases. The lobby is so chic and sexy....very grown AF! I walked to the front desk and was greeted, checked in and then was walked directly to the elevator station to show how to gain access to all floors of the hotel. Pretty cool that everything is through a touchscreen keypad. She also informed me about pool access, the "secret" mall entrance and the restaurants and gym. I love how she took the time to ensure that I understood the amenities. I stayed on the 29th floor, one bedroom with a view of the water, this was absolutely stunning at night. I had no issues with my room, extremely clean and I loved how everything is digitized hence eco friendly stay! They truly do think of everything. Restaurants QR code's are located on the first screen when you turn on the tv. The bar is fully stocked with ALL types of wine, liquors and soda... this is not included but hey the fact that it's there for pregaming There is even a small snack bar full of Pringles, artesian nuts and more! Fav part of the room had to be the shower, it was huge! Perfectly fitted with green granite tile and wood floor paneling plus waterfall shower.... like yes please! I enjoyed dining at both restaurants but honestly it was the pool for me, super relaxing, staff to bring you drinks. The only con, the hot tub was luke warm, which worked until it got a tad chilly then ya know you want the heat lol. Literally only made it to the gym once during my visit. Super clean, towels, sanitizer wipes and a sink to wash your hands when exiting. On the floor you will notice cute little notes of encouragement and a wall with beast mode workouts. If you post your workout your entered into a contest #bodybyeast. I love branding so I'm here for it. I decided to extend my stay, East is very central so taking an Uber to Little Havana, Wynwood and Midtown will run you about $10 bucks. However, if you're going to South Beach, traffic is a beast and round trip can run you close to $40 bucks. I feel like this place is definitely a treat and well positioned. I had a good check-in and the young man who helped with our bags was very helpful and informative. It was a great start to the stay. Valet was always very prompt, professional, and polite. I would call them to ask for my car to be brought up as I made my way down and off I went. It was done very smoothly and the valet team made me feel like I was Beyonce. I was lucky enough to have a very high floor and the view is astonishing. It was gorgeous during the day and more so at night (I didn't know I was afraid of heights until then). There are a few quirks that I was not a fan of, however. The modern shower does not have a door. It looks amazing, but there's no way to prevent the bathroom floor from being soaked. We had to continuously place towels on the floor, which would end up completely drenched. Huge fail. The bathroom does also does not close all the way so if you need to go to the bathroom and you have someone in your room, be prepared to get to know each other inside and out. The hotel is centrally located, which makes it both convenient and subject to traffic jams so keep that in mind. Overall, despite the slight issues I would definitely stay here again. I just wish the bathroom doors closed. read more

I'm staying here now. Would not recommend. Don't waste your money. When I first got in the bellman didn't open my car door and told me to hold on in a dismissive tone when I asked for assistance with my bag.... (When that's his entire job) Got escorted up to my room to be introduced to an iPad for room service (that didn't work my entire stay) then the bellman asked for a tip. (Still gave him one) Room service did not even come until I requested them (at 4pm) My key card did not work almost the entire stay. I reserved the rooftop restaurant and had to go downstairs to be manually buzzed up to the restaurant. (40th floor) which made me late to the reservation. Also was charged for 4 drinks when I only ordered 3. Called back to downstairs for them to fix the iPad when I got back to my room only to be hung up by SAMARIA as her tone gave "this isn't really a serious issue" This was not a good stay and not worth the price. read more

I was pleasently surprised on my stay here, especially after reading some of other Yelp reviews. For context I was staying here for one day on work travel so I didn't even get to experience all this place had to offer but what I did see, I really enjoyed. This hotel is definitely an upscale new york-esq place with high tech system of using your key and a certain elevator taking you to your floor. The check in was quick and the man checking me in helped me understand the layout of the hotel and the amenities. My king bed and my room on the 27th floor was amazing, with a gorgeous view from the balcony. The room itself was quite large and had a cool system to control the lighting in the room. The TV was large and you could check out from it very easily. They also had my favorite brand of shampoo/lotion so that was an added bonus. I reviewed Sugar, the hotels rooftop bar, and that was the only non charming thing of my stay. I ordered room service for dinner and breakfast and it came up within 25 minutes and was both really good without any crazy fees (probably cheap compared to some local restaurants). The ice cream was a bit icy but honestly I was happy with my experience. Also the bed/pillows were some of the comfiest I have ever experienced and I got a great nights sleep. Next time I am in Brickell I would 100% stay here. read more

Lobby cafe, insane price. Paid $70 For a beer, vodka soda & the most unappetizing sandwiches I've ever had. Sandwiches were hard, falling apart, and had old vegetables such as tomato and lettuce. As far as sugar rooftop bar? 1/5 STARS.... the worst staff hand downs. Rude for no reason. They demanded a $100 minimum per guest but provided no silverware, delayed service and just bad energy. This is my second review. 1st on Yelp. My first review got taken down. We stayed here on 12-12-21. The room had ANTS. We were on the 35th floor. When we called reception we were told they would handle it. When we called back because nothing happened they were very rude and told us not to call again that they would handle it. They could have cared less. Was very disappointed. We paid decent $$$ to stay here and it was aweful. When I woke up in the morning there were ants in my bed. Gross. No one has reached out from the hotel. read more

I definitely enjoyed this stay. Everything was extremely high tech from the elevator entrance, your bedroom suite to the building exit. The entire room could've been controlled with Alexa, everything was digital, and there was an ta next to the bed which my stay came with to help me along with ny transition to a digital stay. The staff was a little bit hard to get a hold of on the phone but we eventually got through and they were knowledgeable and nice. They have restaurants in the hotel but there are plenty of places nearby to eat as well. The pool area was beautiful, it was windy, but it was still enjoyable and the staff was sweet. Also they make great smoothies which were perfect for breakfast by the pool. I would definitely stay here again. Oh and they maintain sustainable practices or would say packaging for their clients. All of the toiletries were provided in a sustainable manner meaning you didn't have a little travel size quantities they were refillable bottles. Also there were bamboo items such as toothbrushes and a fresh water spout instead of bottled water in the sink area. Pretty cool. Ahh let's not forget Sugar lounge on the rooftop, if was definitely the spot to hit up. That review will be in another post. read more

Everything was amazing. Bedding was comfortable. Rooms were spacious. Housekeeping came quickly when requested. Great view on the bay side. We stayed in 2406, a corner room with an excellent view of the bay and far from elevators. The pool was relaxing and never too busy. Lots of great spaces to lounge in. The in-room coffee was divine. The only complaint I have is that our coffee pods weren't replenished after the first two days even after repeated requests for new daily pods. read more

The bold guy at the hotel reception is obnoxiously rude and unprofessional !! He never uses a professional language and does not treat women with respect - very machista. Although I was in the reservation he would always call my father also on the reservation and never accept directions from neither myself or my mother. He used threatening and arrogant language. Let me start off by saying the hotel is absolutely breathtaking. From an architectural perspective it's modern and whimsical. However, this is a 4 star hotel so my standards for a 4 star hotel are going to be higher than say some 3 star. Service is sorely lacking. The front desk is understaffed. I took a picture so you can see what it normally looks like..which is empty because one person has to answer phones, check in/out guests and show them how to use the elevator system. Management should have at least two people at the front desk at ALL times and a sign showing guests how to use the elevator system. First impressions are important and it seemed that guests were to be dealt with quickly with as little conversation as possible. Recap of the checkin: here is key let me show you elevator. Yes, it took about one minute. The elevator system is innovative you put your key card on the pad then it will tell you which elevator to go to. No buttons. Inside the elevator it is super trendy..reminds me of the Infinity Mirrors exhibit. The actual room is very hip with bursts of bright orange! High ceilings, big tv, makeup mirror lighting, huge shower, and the best part a balcony! We stayed on the 34th floor and the view was beautiful. So what are the cons? Fridge is unusable because it is filled with expensive beverages. They don't have complimentary water or tea in the room or lobby-a cup of tea was $6 mind you this is basic tea nothing special. Also, breakfast is not included so factor that in your hotel decision. Bike rental was $10 an hour and to park the car overnight was $45 a night! Only free perk was at the gym (on 7th floor) which had free green apples, filtered water, and headphones. Gym was very nice-in fact it was one of the nicest hotel gyms I have seen. Overall, the room design is super modern and I am glad I got to experience East Miami, but I like to be catered to while I am on vacation. I will probably not be returning here, but it's definitely a cool place to check out and they have a nice pool & gym. P.S.- Restaurant on 5th floor is overpriced. I do not recommend and if you have a car be prepared to pay top dollar for parking. read more

Booked a 2 bedroom suite and a table at Tea Room. The problem started from arrival. We arrived at 3:30pm. We were told that the room wasn't ready and it would be over an hour before we could get the key. Explained to them I had to be somewhere at 5pm. Their best solution was for me to shower in the gym and they would store my belongings. They stated the prior guest left at 3pm because they had a late check out. If they knew a guest was coming in then they should have not confirmed the late check out for the prior guest. The I don't care attitude was unbelievable. They claim to be an upscale property. FAR FROM IT. I was told by the front desk to go up and have a drink at the Quinta bar complimentary on them. 1 and 40 minutes later the room is still not ready and I was not allowed to leave the restaurant because they did not have a room number yet because the room was not clean. This is by far the worst experience I have had at any hotel. read more

My bf was paying almost 1k a night for the room we were in - we had brought a bowl of fruit and yogurt to the pool and got antagonized by a server to not eat it there - she said there was no outside food allowed at the pool unless it was bought from her. We can not eat it unless it was on their menu. Had the worst attitude ever and a nasty face. Did not want to try to make anything better or try to suggest something else from the menu ... Will not be doing business here again! I have never been talked to so rudely before. Please teach better customer service. read more
