We were looking for a restaurant that offered something other than the usually-crowded, predictable Amish Country eateries, and we found it! East Main Kitchen is spacious, but separate rooms promote a more intimate dining experience. A well-stocked coffee station (with baked goodies, too), fills one wall. The decor in December was festive, yet modern. I chose the grilled pork chop (thick yet tender) with sides of tomato basil soup and baked sweet potato. All were delicious! Hubby had the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, salad, and chili, and savored every bite. Side note: I am a salad "snob" because I expect more than iceberg lettuce and a couple of cucumber slices. I was drooling over the mixed greens, tomato, carrots, and cheese I saw in his side salad. All staff and patrons were masked, which we appreciated. Prices are very reasonable, too. read more

A friend recommended this spot! We were passing by Baltic and decided to check it out. The atmosphere is amazing, well decorated and food was absolutely amazing and at a great price. One downside we've always had when visiting Amish country is being unable to find a sit down meal that isn't a really crowded buffet style Amish restaurant (you know which I'm referring to) or somewhere where the menu basically consists of everything soaked in lard and butter. Believe me, I love homecooked food and it tastes great going down but then I suffer with indigestion for the rest of the day. When ending a day of Amish country wineries, we saw this place across from Baltic Mill. We went in for coffee actually then decided to eat dinner. The menu had a great selection of items, some farm to table fresh, lighter options and some traditional Amish style. My husband got the chicken fingers and sweet potato fries and I got the fish and mashed potatoes. Both with side salads. I love sweet and sour dressing, another Amish staple. Salads were good and so were both meals. Also, quite large servings for the price. While both of our meals weren't off the beaten path choices by any means, you could tell they take pride in their cooking and adding personal touches. Two sauces came with my husbands tenders, one sweet and one spicy. And I could tell my tarter sauce was homemade. After ordering my fish, the waiter returned to tell me that fish was out and could they sub a different one, which was fine by me. When I got my plate, I'm pretty sure they tried to compensate for the item replacement by giving me two huge pieces which I didn't need but gladly took home! Stopped in for lunch today after reading some of the reviews from fellow Yelpers. According to those reviews we were going to be impressed. And impressed we were! This place is amazingly clean and the employees are friendly and helpful. We started off with a appetizer the onion rings except they called them by a different name. But whatever they call them they are homemade and delicious. And there is a pile of them! The Rueben sandwich I got was as good as I've had anywhere and the fries that were included were different than any I've ever eaten but I enjoyed every delicious bite! This is a lovely modern and clean establishment. Very friendly staff! Unsweetened iced tea tasted fresh brewed and strong. I hate when I pay for tea and it just tastes like water. The chicken salad wrap was good and so big, I'll have lunch tomorrow . Also enjoyed the sweet potato fries. Hubby enjoyed the roast beef dinner and the small portion was still a large enough amount. What a hidden gem! Don't let the exterior fool you as it is nondescript. The interior is tastefully decorated and very clean. Tables are spaced out so we didn't fear being unduly exposed to Covid. They had a nice variety of items on the menu. We ordered Reubens with their spin on fries and it was very tasty. The sandwich had generous slices of real meat, not processed. Fries were sliced potatoes about a half inch thick and twisted somehow. Cooked perfectly. Waitstaff was very good. Can't wait to return. read more

Best place in all of Amish Country! We got there just in time to not have to wait. But, it would be totally worth any kind of wait. The service was great and the owner was very kind and worked very hard to be accommodating with the hot temperatures outside the AC was working overtime. The food was amazing! Watch out the portions are very large so don't eat up the whole appetizer or you won't have room for dinner. All the sides are delicious, the sweet potato fries were so yummy. We got the market filets and the Montana girl raised on an Angus ranch was not disappointed. We were so full that we didn't have room for dessert, but they did look fabulous. We drove to Baltic from Walnut Creek for dinner and were delighted with this coffee shop/restaurant. There was a short wait for a table (Thursday night around 6; they close at 8) but they put us on a wait list and we sat outside until the text arrived. Service was quick and friendly. I ordered broasted /fried chicken, mashed potatoes and a salad while my hubby ordered the turkey dinner with potatoes and a salad. The chicken consisted of two thighs and one drum. One of the thighs was over cooked and dry but the other two were perfection- tender on the inside, crunchy outside. The potatoes were to die for! I'm not usually a gravy person but I ordered it on the side and I couldn't have been happier. Perfectly seasoned with a delicious chicken flavor. I'd come back just for the potatoes myself! The turkey plate was also enjoyed- quickly, lol. We shared a large piece of New York cheesecake with raspberry sauce that was also delicious. My hubby and I enjoy long Saturday drives down to the tiny town of Baltic to visit the Baltic Mill Winery (our favorite winery), and today we were delighted to discover another reason to make the hour drive--East Main Coffee and Kitchen! The owners obviously invested a lot of money in converting the old family restaurant that used to be here into a spacious, tastefully decorated restaurant and coffee house. I ordered the Seasonal Salad, which today consisted of field greens, fresh, ripe strawberries (Not the ones picked green!), feta cheese, pecans, and a cup of homemade Cheesy Broccoli soup served at just the right temperature! My husband ordered the Reuben which was made with homemade bread and the giant curly fries were delicious! Service was just right! There are more intimate areas in the restaurant where those just wanting a latte or cappuccino can enjoy conversing with a friend...or work on their computer, and rooms where groups can dine. Food was excellent. The shrimp and grits were so flavorful. Amazing. Although they were a little over saturated in butter for my taste. This place is very busy on the weekends. Often a 1 1/2 half wait, so plan accordingly. The cakes and desserts are top notch! They have a nice coffee bar as well! Their appetizers are wonderful too. Stumbled across this little gem while looking for a place for my son to eat. Absolute charm of a place and good food/ fast service. Only complaint is I wanted a take out kids meal and they said they can't do kids meal for take out, only other menu items or then sit down for the kids menu. Didnt quite make sense to me but I'm sure there's a reason. The good food made up for it though and the staff was really friendly and nice.
