We reserved a car rental with Easirent Car rental through Travelocity and paid with a credit card online. At no time did the reservation state that the vehicle had restrictions within the state. Upon arrival to pick up the vehicle, we were told the rate would be much higher and that we could not use the payment information used online. This caused our daughter to have a full blown panic attack since she was in a bad neighborhood without a ride home. Our daughter had to arrange an Uber to get home potentially putting her life in danger. The representative was completely unhelpful and had no concern for her safety. The representative refused to give me his supervisor's name or contact information. I feel This is a case of bait and switch and is extremely negligent on the part of the company as well as the representative. We will be filing a complaint with the Attorney General's Office for bait and switch as well as a complaint with the BBB. read more

1 star. The whole process dealing with them was terrible. First things first, they did not have the car that we originally rented. The excuse was that the man who cleans out the cars did not want to clean it, the kicker was, we warned them that we would be 6 hours behind due to a flight delay. So he couldn't have cleaned out the car that was rented? Second the car had issues, the windshield was cracked, and the seats were dirty. I still have yet to recieve my refund and the car was returned 8/4. When constantly calling and asking about when I will recieve my deposit back I was told to wait longer. It's been almost two freaking weeks!! Ontop of that, they kept telling me over the phone that it had something to do with my bank, but when taking a closer with my bank, my bank said they are holding the money and need to release it, or let the hold expire. The other solution my bank gave was to send a fax to them stating they can release the money and Easirent REFUSED. The manager was useless, and instead of being sympathic and trying to come up with a solution, he doubled down and continued insisting it was my bank. When I ranted about how terrible the customer service is, the manager interrupted me multiple times when I tried explaining to him how horrible we were treated as customers (I see where they get it from now) HQ was no help either, both me and my partner have been hung up on multiple times. When trying to ask them for assistance until 1 lovely worker answered my question. Will provide an update if I receive my money back or not. read more

This is not a savings. Over 2 hours ago we got off our plane and went straight to the pick up spot. We waited an hour for a shuttle. Not due to a line of people but no shuttle appeared even though there were many phone calls and many answers of "the shuttle will be there in 5 minutes". No seating. No place nearby. We have been told it takes 10 minutes per person, we have 30 minutes To top it off the place is filthy and the employees are disinterested at best. The last shuttle leaves to go to the airport at 5:30! This place is 15 miles from the airport, we are just lucky our flight is not at night, we would be sitting at the airport waiting there for departure due to the odd hours. Pay a little extra and get your car at the airport. This offsite does not function. At all. read more

Easirent - Zero stars. Worst car rental experience- ever - Car Rental Near Me - Austin, Texas

See all

Sold through Priceline as an "Airport" rental, their location is 7 miles from the airport. In a sketchy run down place with a muddy parking lot! The rental was sold with unlimited mileage and second driver free, after I finally got to talk with an agent they they didn't care what I had printed or reserved, there will be charges and fees for each mile over 150 for the day, charges and fees for the second driver, additional charges and fees for under 25. Not allowed to leave the state of Texas, which wasn't going to work since my daughter was driving her boyfriend home to OKC. When I asked to cancel the reservation, he said he would. I told they were deceptive marketing practices and we would post a 1 star review. The agent said we should. He said since they are owned by the Brits, they don't have to follow US rules. I called Priceline 2 days later, they said the reservation was still active and the car rental company doesn't allow them to cancel. I have to call directly, they transferred me since they are still able to charge a no-show and cancellation fees. The phone rang for a full minute before I hung up. read more

Utter garbage in Austin. The shuttle took over an hour and when I finally got there, they had no cars!

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. I am not from texas, I am across the country. I came to Austin on vacation and rented a vehicle from easirent. Upon showing up, my reservation (which I had an email confirmation) was not confirmed. I was told we would get our car in 10-15 minutes but ended up waiting over an hour to even process paperwork. The customer service is the worst customer service I have ever received. I left easirent and drove to my rental where the vehicle sat all night. Upon getting ready to leave the next morning, Indrove down the driveway and noticed there was a flat tire. I found a screw in the tire. Stranded in a state I don't know, I called easirent to ask for help and they told me the vehicle is my responsibility the moment I drove off the lot. I asked for recs on where to get it fixed, how to get it back to them to have it fixed, and the customer service rep was no help. I said "this vehicle is not my investment, this is yours. If I bring it back to you will uou fix it?" and they told me they woudl charge me for a new tire. I asked to speak to the manager because "this is fucking ridiculous " (meanwhile I'm stranded with no food and I don't know the area let along the state) and easirent hung up on me. I will NEVER rent again from them as I have a week longer in the state and no vehicle to drive. Do not rent from this place. If you have AAA, call them. read more

I would give zero stars if I could! This was the absolute worst car rental experience. No one picks you up from the airport. We had to Uber there, and it's far. Once there the staff was annoyed they had to help us as they wanted to leave early. Once there we were told the car we reserved wasn't actually available and we could only pay more for a beat up Jeep that looked like it had just been in an accident. The lady with the gaps in her teeth actually told us "why did you rent here if you saw we have bad reviews?!" Ridiculous! Don't waste you time or money on this terrible company. Will be adding to the terrible reviews they have on BBB. read more

This is absolutely the worst experience in car rental, or any business for that matter, I have experienced. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Worst customer service. It took 1 hour to get the car. The people that work there can barely speak english. It took the shuttle 1 hour to pick me up. The Altima I was given had 2 tires on the front end that were worn to the threads. Obviously they don"t care about their customers safety. I had to take it to a tire shop. They would not reimburse me for the tire shop expense. Their excuse was that the threads were on the inside of the tires so they did not see them. This is a crappy company, obviously do no maintence on ther cars and rude to boot. First of all you have to walk a while to get to the shuttle stop and take a 15 minute ride to the rental place. When we arrived there was a line and waiting list just to talk to an employee. The waiting room is uncomfortable and has no seating for the amount of people that were there. We were also told that they had no vehicles to rent because they were waiting for people to return their cars. It took us 2 hours past our reserved time to get a rental car and when we returned it at the end of our trip we were told that the shuttle was out of service so we had to pay for an Uber back to the airport. Save yourself the headache and just rent a car at the airport instead! It was not worth the low price. read more

Rental put our lives at risk ... I will never rent from this company again for a number of reasons. To start, the company is not even close to the airport, despite it being named that way; this is very much false advertising. A shuttle does not make this okay. Second, the facility is rundown and unpleasant - and crowded. Expect at least an hour or two to pick up your car due to staff shortage and inefficient process. I was surprised to find out that my "unlimited mileage" rental was limited to 150 miles per day because I was local and not flying on an airplane. I was told I would need to spend an extra $25 per day or else pay $0.50 per mile over the limit. I declined. (I was marked as unlimited anyway, making me wonder if this is a scam. Either way, this is bad business.) The car I had rented turned out to not be available, so they gave me a different car which had much lower gas mileage. Thankfully it was clean, but on the return drive I discovered to my horror that the car couldn't handle even the slightest amount of rain. The reason: the front right tire was completely bald. No tread. At. All. I spent 7 hours very stressed out as the car slipped and skidded and hydroplaned, and I was continually passed by other vehicles going 30mph faster than me. It was extremely dangerous. I can not believe they would rent me a car with such poor maintenance. Never again. read more

Pick up and shuttle from airport very time consuming. Difficult to find. Service center needs re modeling

I really hope you don't rent from these guys. I never write a review but I hope this will help someone to not get screwed by them. I rented a car from them and arrived at 6:20. It turns out they close at 6pm and aren't even at the airport. When I thought I would be fine and be able to pick it up the next day, I found out they canceled my reservation and wouldn't give me a car. Then they refused to give me a refund. Through out the process they blamed everything on me and said all their bad reviews was not because they have a faulty system but because of people like me. read more

This place is a scam. Expedia booked me with them (without asking me to verify the vendor) - then I learned it was Easirent. So I had to get another shuttle back to the airport (30mins of waiting around) then ANOTHER shuttle that shows up every 30mins. It didn't show, so I waiting for a close to an hour, then it took me to the hotel where Easirent was. I could barely find the lousy "office" then they didn't have my car ready. So I got an Uber back to the airport terminal and then another shuttle to the rental car facility. Hahaha. This lapse by Expedia wasted 4hours of my valuable time. Easirent Is clearly a scam trying to profit off tricking people into thinking it's a reputable airport car rental. Never use this vendor and I will be contacting local media to raise awareness read more

The name of this company is very deceiving. This was by no means an EASY RENT. Needed to rent a car for a short time so went through Priceline and they sent me to this location. When I arrived, I signed in to get a place in line. There were about 3 people ahead of me. Didn't think it would be a long wait. Boy was I wrong. It took them close to 2 hours until I was called up to the counter. Only one clerk working, one porter and one shuttle driver. They got me checked in and then they slapped a $500.00 security deposit on my credit card, which they said would be returned once I brought the car back and there were no damages. (Most places charge $250). Asked them why they were charging everyone ahead of me $250 but charged me double, They said it was because I was a local resident. Reallly? When I returned the car I had to wait again for close to an hour. I also was returning it a day earlier than I thought I needed it for I asked if I would be refunded the day I didn't use, they said NO they couldn't do that, but I should call Priceline. When I called Priceline, they said NO too. Priceline must work with these third party companies to rip off the customer for a nice profit. I will go through the car rental companies directly like Budget, Enterprise, etc. If you ever are sent to Easirent, say NO THANK YOU and run like H**L. read more

If I could give them a zero. I would. Deceptive practices. If they see you. Have a local address on your driver's license. They will change the terms of your rental. I set up a rental through Priceline with them. It stated unlimited mileage. When I arrived at this hole of an office the agent at the counter said I get 100 Mi a day since I had an address close by. Not even in the city of Austin. I will be reporting them to the attorney general's office for deceptive practices as well. Avoid these thieves read more

I'm writing this review to prevent anyone else experiencing what we did. DO NOT use this Company . We had to ask directions to the " Off-site Operator" pick up. ( Both myself and 2 other Parties waiting weren't aware we booked an off-site Car Rental) The signs they ask you to follow are non-existent. Upon arriving at the designated site, you're instructed to call for pickup. I had to call 3 times to finally get an Agent to answer. (phone rang minimum of 50 times per call and then hung up) The 2 other parties who were waiting too, never got their calls answered. I was told the Shuttle would arrive in 15 minutes. (it was 49 minutes) Once we reached the Rental Office the employees were friendly. But there were 3 other parties in line before us, so we waited another hour to get car. (Man in line took an Uber, because he couldn't find Shuttle Pick up) I had booked an SUV, but was told they were out of stock and we'd be upgraded for free. It was a Chevy Malibu, I don't consider that an upgrade. They also told both myself and one of the other upset Customers " in order to upgrade you for free, I need you to scan that QR code and give us a good review". Which explains the very few good reviews. I hope I've helped someone else from going through the ordeal we did. I'm adding screenshots from the Better Business Bureau rating of them . read more

Bad business practices to get you to pay more if you pre pay. RENTER BEWARE. So many inconsistencies. The  customer reps leave out the details when they talk to you. You cannot view the contract you are signing when you sign it. Here is my experience. First of all the pick up site is NOT located at the airport. I was cool with that and taking a shuttle is no big deal until the shuttle is not working and if you prepaid you are not notified of this. Even though the website that said there was a shuttle, I do not believe the Austin location has one. I ended up having to take an uber to get there. Once there you sign in, then you scan a QR code and do the work as a customer agent by filling out all the forms. The number key pad never popped up on the number fields, quite annyoing when you already had to call to find out they did not have a shuttle. A real company would have a real website coded to standards that work on a phone if they want their customers to do this job correctly. Finally i get to talk to an agent,15-20 minutes after arriving. I was then  told I was a local renter and thus did not get unlimited mileage. When asked what miles I get, the comment was 150 with no additional per day. Im pretty sure I exclaimed "only 150!" Knowing I needed at least 300 miles I asked about what I could do and was told I could upgrade to unlimited for $100. At any point if the CA had used the word per day I would have questioned more. I did get $40 off because of the lack of shuttle. But had the CA (customer agent) never explained to me the 150 per day or that I there were other options, I could have taken one of  those instead. Additionally, in my opinion and according the the website I should have had unlimited miles in the first place because even though my license says im a texas resident I had a round trip ticket ( I just wasn't leaving the day I turned the car in) Here is the defintion of local renter on the website. Notice it doesn't say I have to be flying out within a certain amount of time. And the agent blew me off when I questioned this. I easily could demonstrate I flew in an would be flying back out. "What is a Local Renter? A renter with a driver's license issued in the same state as the rental pick up location. The renter also cannot demonstrate that they have flown into an airport near the location where they wish to rent, and that they have a return flight." THEN when I went out to the car about 10 mins after signing the contract I could not see,the car person just handed me the tablet to sign. This time I asked what I was signing and he said it was to show the car was in good shape, and there was a full tank of gas. So I took the time to walk around the car and question things. Additionally, they put a $500 hold on my credit card vs the $250 hold the website says. I'm not sure if the employees are just not trained properly or if they are trained to be vague because they get commissions off the extra charges. After I realized the 150 miles per day issue (on the website I should have looked at in the first place) I tried calling the local office and their short reply was we will deal with it when you come in. So, I tried emailing my complaints to the email address on the website us.helpline@easirent.com and imagine this it was bounced back. Then I called the customer service number on the website and was told to contact the local office. Ugh. They do not address customer concerns at all, what happened to the customer is right concept, especially when they don't inform the customer and dont include services promised (shuttle). I would love to support a new business, but easirent needs to be more detail oriented. And until they properly work with me to address my complaint. At least admit there are issues, I will never recommend them. And I'm not the only one who is annoyed as I was waiting for my car, another customer was getting angry with the service or something. My lessons learned, when booking a deal and prepaying, go to the companies and read the details so when the CA is so vague that you are educated and know what you need to keep from being nickle and dimed. read more

Easirent was the worst car rental situation I have ever experienced. After waiting in their lobby for 2 hours, with several other livid customers, I canceled my reservation, went back to the airport, rented from another company and was driving within minutes. Understand this. The 3 guys working there (1 at desk, 1 shuttling to airport, one cleaning cars etc) did an amazing job at dealing with people and trouble-shooting. They kept going and remained calm. The COMPANY is clearly at fault for subjecting their employees and the public to such inordinate stress. Avoid this car rental. Saving just a few dollars and wasting so much of your precious time (hours) is not worth it. The stress is not worth it. Easirent does not appear to put customer service on their radar at all. read more

Very poor service. I had instructions to call for the shuttle once arriving at the airport. I called for a shuttle over an hour. Shuttle made it to my location after an hour. This is the most horrible car rental service I have ever encountered. When I reached the airport, I called for the shuttle, which they said would come in about 5 minutes. For the next hour, several of us waited for the shuttle that never came. I tried calling the office back but they stopped answering their phone. Finally several of us shared a taxi to the office. When we got there, they said they had no cars left, despite the fact that we all had prepaid reservations. Eventually they said they had one car that I could have. They offered to drive the other people back to the airport. I don't know what happened to them. read more

Worst rental car experience ever, deserves negative stars. It's close to 10 miles from the airport. The shuttle stop is a long difficult walk from the terminal and hard to find. They don't answer the phone to summon the shuttle. I calles again many times, I attached proof and no answer, finally someone answered and they sd he didnt knw shuttle status but it will arrive, then the other peson also waiting spoke to him with my phone and they told him they didnt have car for him, and he will not get his money back, he was very upset started to argue with ur rep so i took my phone back and asked the young man on phone if my car was available becuz i have been waiting for shuttle he said "we have 7 ppl here now, there will be no car for you" so I said what are we supposed to do? He sd he was sorry, there were no cars left!! So u see this was not our fault.. and i do recommend u give my refund back. read more

DO NOT PROCEED WITH THIS COMPANY!! I wish I could give this company 0 stars and that would still be too much credit. Let's start with the fact that the pickup/ drop off area is not easily identifiable. You have to call to request a shuttle as they do not routinely come to the pick up/drop off area. Even once you do call to request a shuttle you are placed on hold for several minutes at a time and told "someone is on the way" only for them to arrive 45 minutes later instead of the 5 to 10 minutes that was initially quoted. You're then driven offsite, roughly 20 minutes from the airport without traffic to a rundown building with a small sign on the front and greeted by one agent with a janky Check in process and waiting time just as lengthy as the shuttle waiting time. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money!!!! This whole company is a joke! Lesson learned. read more

I have contacted them 4 times now for my deposit and they haven't given it back. That's $500 just lost for me with no excuse. When I first booked my car several people were in a hurry trying to catch flights and they were taking forever on their phones and unprofessional. I had to get their attention several times and say "excuse me can you help us" and he was texting on his phone and moving slow and kept going back. I had a confirmed rental through Priceline/Easirent in Sept. 2023 for our trip to see the solar eclipse on April 8th, 2024 in Austin, MN. When my wife and I landed Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on April 7, 2024 and proceeded to pick up our reserved car but we were told there were no cars available. There was no prior communication to us that there would be no cars available prior to our arrival. There were huge lines of people at the Austin, TX airport waiting to pick up their confirmed rental cars at all of the rental agencies. We ended up going through Avis in getting a car and asked for the same type of car but the only choices left that day was a pickup and a minivan. Our hands were tied so we chose the cheaper of the two available vehicles which was the minivan. We were lucky to rent a car at all. It appeared that Priceline/Easirent overbooked rental cars and could not fulfill their part of the rental agreement.
