The cloud does not have a topper but the mattress with topper was significantly more expensive so we decided we'd get an after market topper. The cool thing about the show room is that you can test out the feel of all of their mattresses. As I said the foam with topper suits me best but something else might work for you. Note: they are closed but if you're going to buy they may do a private appointment. 2nd note: I've bought 5 foam mattresses in my life and they all claimed not to smell. Its helpful going into do a little research online about what general types of mattresses (spring, memory foam, hybrid, etc.) are out there so you can have an intelligent conversation going into a place like this. Otherwise you are just overwhelmed by options. Sometimes they will have Tempurpedics as cheap as $800. This is a fantastic deal. But its kind of hit or miss on the selection of these high-demand luxury mattresses. We usually get a mid-grade mattress and just elect to change it more often. The cheaper mattresses do tend to sag quicker, but its nice to do a change.

I came in during the Labor Day sale and she hooked me up with a great Tempurpedic mattress and adjustable base. Did you know you can get returns at a discount? And it's not oogy, Mattress Firm has a stringent returns and cleanliness procedure. I feel very comfortable with the cleanliness of my new mattress. The delivery team was super efficient and professional. Communication from MF about my delivery was great. And unlike PGE or cable companies, the wait window was only 2 hours. They kept me updated on arrival and came in the window timeframe. The only single star I would give is to CORPORATE Mattress Firm. Lisa had multiple issues with the computer system that resulted in a long transaction process with a couple "do overs." When she tried calling MF help desk, there were 30 calls ahead of her. I think corporate is switching out their POS system and experiencing some issues. Best not to roll out new systems during a massive sale! I would go back to Lisa for my next mattress.

Also better than IKEA is the fact that the top bunks are not cordoned off, so the kids could actually try the different ladders and heights. We wanted to feel confident that the kids were comfortable with the beds. The salesperson was present but low-pressure, for sure. Things are not ready to buy off the shelf, so expect a couple-week wait. They offer delivery and set up, but we were able to do it ourselves. This is the showroom, not the warehouse, which is also in Berkeley but elsewhere. There is off-street parking. If you are looking for bunk beds, Murphy beds, or other compact sleeping solutions, and you don't urgently need it the same night, this is a great local business to support.

It's been several years since I purchased anything here, but when I have, or when I was mattress shopping and laid on their offerings, all my experiences have been pleasant. Whether it's knowledgable and engaged salespeople or a nice range of products/pricing (my last purchase was maybe a ~$20 baby gift), it's a positive experience. I've also learned some brand awareness here, mostly about pillows and bedding. Like any retail store, dud products will be sold, but it can't be blamed on the owners. For instance, I bought some shower timers that suction-cup-stick to the wall and you can turn them, and it's a GREAT IDEA for water conservation. But, they fell off the shower walls (two different showers/locations) and broke and became landfill. That is awful. Is it Earthsake's fault? Nope. In fact, I'd not be surprised if they got this feedback and stopped carrying the product. Companies have "inside sales" reps who sell the company products to retail stores and typically get salary + commission. If I owned a store and my rep said this product was the bomb, I would believe them too. Anyway, I would be upset if this wonderful store, for locals by locals, were to cease existence, so just my two cents on years of experience there. I think too many reviewers here are blaming the store for things that are out of the store owners' control.
