We got bunk beds from here and were happy with the selection, range of prices, and quality. The beds feel sturdier than IKEA, for sure. Also better than IKEA is the fact that the top bunks are not cordoned off, so the kids could actually try the different ladders and heights. We wanted to feel confident that the kids were comfortable with the beds. The salesperson was present but low-pressure, for sure. Things are not ready to buy off the shelf, so expect a couple-week wait. They offer delivery and set up, but we were able to do it ourselves. This is the showroom, not the warehouse, which is also in Berkeley but elsewhere. There is off-street parking. If you are looking for bunk beds, Murphy beds, or other compact sleeping solutions, and you don't urgently need it the same night, this is a great local business to support. read more

Great products and nice people! We love our Newport Serta full-size pull out sleeper couch. It's great for watching TV. Also a shout out to Comfort Zone Sleep Gallery for having great customer service. They were really helpful and sent me instructions for how to disassemble the couch a year after I bought it in preparation for our moving it downstairs. read more

Sharon is professional helpful and knows her products. She allows you to go at your pace, when making this purchase, not pushy at all. Just bought a cabinet unit and excited to have it delivered. read more

Drove all the way from Vallejo to visit the showroom going by the website info. Needless to say the business is not at this location. Wasted my time and gas trying to locate the place. I need to be reimbursed for the inconvenience! read more

I visited Sharon at comfort zone after I was pretty confident I would buy a wall bed elsewhere and a mattress online. What Sharon did, really impressed me. She looked up the options I was looking at buying, she confirmed she did not carry the wall bed, but that she was familiar with it. Then she told me it was a good bed and that it wouldn't be a bad purchase along with some more details about it. I'd recommend visiting comfort zone as the honest and knowledgeable take is incredibly refreshing. It is also very useful! read more

Go see Sharon! We purchased our Murphy bed from the Berkeley store and absolutely love it! It is such an amazing addition to our home furniture collection. We were fortunate enough the "score" a floor model that is gorgeous! The craftsmanship of the bed is superb and it is made of real wood. We had a little hiccup with the installation, but Sharon ensured that everything was "handled.". She provided " top notch" customer service which means a lot to me. Although the store is a little pricey, you truly get what you pay for and it's worth it! Everyone loves our Murphy Bed! Thanks Sharon! read more

John was most helpful in getting me my Poppy K series twin platform bed. He made phone calls to track down a bed for me and even gave me a discount, which was much appreciated. In these hard times please support this local business. read more

We got a couch that opens to a long twin bed that is super comfortable. The kids fight about who gets to sleep on it! Then we got another one for a rental. Perfect extra bedding! Sharon was extremely helpful!!! read more

A great experience overall. I came in with my brother and sister in law and they got the best help I've ever seen at a furniture store. They got a brand new couch in under 30 minutes. All of their questions were answered and they were given tons of time to make their decision without any stress. Honestly, if you are looking for a couch or bed, you should make this your first stop because it will be your last and you'll leave with a new bed or couch. read more

Great customer service from the first time we walked in. Sales team was extremely helpful and informative, yet it didn't feel like a pressured sales pitch. This is on contrast to our experience shopping at Hoot, which felt understaffed and therefore unable to provide the same level of attentiveness and service required when making a furniture investment of this amount. After we were allowed to borrow a stain sample to compare with our room, we were still walked through the various options for hardware. When we didn't really like the default hardware on our wallbed with the stain choice we wanted, Sharon showed us other options from the same manufacturer that she would call them to custom order for our piece at the same price. It's this level of service that confirmed our choice to buy from Comfort Zone. After the manufacturer confirmed the customized order was ok, we wrapped up the transaction via phone and email. Yesterday, after 8 weeks of waiting, the wallbed was installed by Roberto. Him and his assistant did a great job installing the need in the freshly painted room. They did a good job leaving the room as clean as they found it. Came within the allocated time frame and were wrapped up in about an hour. We must say the wallbed looks amazing and has transformed our office into a guest room when we have visitors. A great solution for the often times smallish bedrooms in the Bay area. I highly recommend you experience Comfort Zone if you too are in need in such a solution. The price seems high until you realize the product will last a lifetime. read more

Very easy doing business with them. They had tbe bed we wanted and delivered with no issues.

I recently bought both a mattress and bed from Comfort Zone, and couldn't be happier with the products or the service. Ditto to the previous review that says "Go see Sharon!" Absolutely, she's very knowledgeable, and she'll take plenty of time to help you as you consider various options (of which there are many--they have a good selection), but no pressure. In fact, since I was having a hard time making a decision, she recommended I check out other stores as well. But I soon returned to make my purchase at Comfort Zone, and it was the right decision. Also, kudos to John and his assistant for an excellent job with the delivery and installation. Great store. Great people. Highly recommended. read more

The Comfort Zone Sleep Gallery is awesome! We received a bed frame and it was perfect! We are very happy with it!

Best selection of wall beds. John is super helpful and he knows his stuff! Best prices in town as well!!

Sharon gave me a call back and offered to exchange the mattress with a new one, or replace the mattress with a different model mattress from the same manufacturer. In the end I decided not to make an exchange because I would still have to pay a $75 delivery fee or do it on my own, but I appreciate the call back. Thanks. read more

Great local furniture store. They specialize in bunk beds and wall beds, but have a good selection of basic platform beds too. We got 3 beds here - two with under-bed storage drawers for our kids, and one basic platform bed for the guest room. All made of solid rubberwood. Easy to assemble and feels robust, like it will last for a long time - unlike other stores beds made of compacted straw. Sharon is great to work with and very helpful as well. read more

I'm actually reviewing this store before we even get our wall bed. I just want to point out that Sharon knows customer service. She is friendly, knowledgeable, professional and just plain nice! I felt so comfortable talking to her. We knew we wanted a wall bed, but needed a little guidance to make a decision on style, color, mechanism, etc. Sharon covered every detail and was very patient as we changed our minds a couple times! She wanted to be sure we got what we wanted. We ended up buying a wall bed and mattress. I highly recommend this store. As I said, Sharon knows what customer service is, and that's pretty rare these days. I will come back and review again once we get our wall bed! read more

super nice - one can deal with him for better price. Very pleasant to deal with. Delivery is optional - owner will deliver himself and assemble it for you. Good experience! read more

Very knowledge and friendly staff. We love our bed and get lots of compliments! Comfortable too!

Everything about our experience at the store was superb! We were greeted kindly when we came in, given answers to all our questions, and given the space to decide what we wanted to do. Sharon was very knowledgeable about all the products and even directed us to catalog offerings that might have worked for us. In the end, my son picked a mattress from the store and absolutely loves it. And I walked away with new ideas for saving space in a room by using a wall bed. Thanks Sharon! read more

If you're deciding where to shop for beds, you should know how generous and community-oriented Comfort Zone Sleep Gallery is. A group of friends and I are supporting 2 refugee families who are resettling in the East Bay. I called Comfort Zone to ask about bed donations for the families' apartments and Comfort Zone donated 6 beautiful beds for these two families. The beds made the rooms look so lovely and comfortable. We really wanted to make the apartments feel as nice as possible for these families who are starting a new home here and the beds made a huge difference. Sharon made it all happen... thank you! read more

I recently purchased a chameleon bed at Comfort Zone and was very pleased with the service I received from John and Steve. I had been having a lot of trouble finding this particular bed but these guys came through for me. Also, the location is ideal (just a couple blocks from the freeway). They even helped me load it into my truck, much appreciated. I will certainly go back to Comfort Zone for future furniture purchases. read more

Buyer beware. I bought a mattress from the Comfort Zone and it was not a good experience. I was told many things that were not true. When I complained they did not honor any of their service claims. Beware! read more

I had been looking for a wood frame for our bed for a long time and happened into Comfort Zone. We found a beautiful bed with storage drawers and found a futon mattress on sale as well for our guestroom. The customer service was fantastic. John took the time to show us what we were looking for. He was so kind and friendly. He delivered and set up the bed with his helper. One of the drawers had a scratch on the inside where we would have never noticed it but John made the point to come back and replace the part for us. I would definitely recommend this store to my friends and use them again. We are very happy with our purchases. read more

I like this place. We wanted a futon - we got exactly what we wanted at a good price. We wanted a mattress - we got exactly what we wanted at a good price. This is a real place run by real people selling real stuff. What a relief! read more

My fiancé and I slept on a mattress that we loved while away on vacation. I called the manufacturer (Spinal Care Bedding) and they named Comfort Zone as a place where I could purchase the same mattress. Working with Comfort Zone in Berkeley to actually get the exact match was a breeze! Sharon promptly looked at my photos, verified the mattress with Spinal Care, and had one shipped up to the Berkeley store for us to try. We loved it, of course, and placed an order for a full-sized king. John and David delivered it shortly after and also hauled-off our old mattress and box spring set. I'm typically accustomed to purchasing mattresses and furniture from large companies, like Macy's, so was a little reluctant to go a different route. But, we really couldn't be happier with the service we received from Comfort Zone. You may not get the extreme speediness of a giant company like Macy's (in terms of ordering and delivery), but they have great prices and good customer service. It was actually a relief not having to spend time calling a 1-800 number for any questions or issues. read more

We visited Comfort Zone's showroom in Berkeley to look at Murphy beds for our condo in Hawaii and settled upon three cabinet beds. It was our intention to include these beds in a shipping container in which we were sending the rest of our household items on very specific dates. Sharon ensured that the cabinet beds were delivered to the store from the factory in time and arranged for store employees to deliver them to us and assist in loading them onto the shipping container. The container was trucked to the Oakland port and loaded onto a ship headed to Honolulu. It was transferred to another ship which sailed to the port on Maui, and then it was trucked to our condo on the other side of the island. When we finally unpacked the beds from the factory boxes, we found absolutely no damage caused by the complicated shipping process. We are EXTREMELY satisfied with these high quality, compact beds - we have slept on them ourselves and found them to be super comfortable. I highly recommend Comfort Zone, and Sharon in particular, not only for the quality of their products, but also for their superb customer service. read more
