Absolutely master piece. I had been looking for a perfect dinning table for almost 10 years. I am…read moreglad I finally met the one. The table is shinning as the center of our dinning room. Every meal becomes a special meal with this table. The color of table changes by angle, time and weather. Yes, it's living.

These chairs are sat in perhaps once a month, on average. We have no kids at home and my wife and I are both small people at under 140 lbs each. They are lightly used and absolutely not abused. On Mother's Day, we did use the dining room table. I sat down in one of the chairs and the right rear leg fell off. I sat straight down and was suddenly on the floor. Thank goodness it was me and not my 82 year old, frail Mother-in-law. See the photos below. Upon inspection, there was a knot that created a very weak spot in the leg. Only about 1/16 inch "line" of wood needed to break for the leg to fall off. Most of this leg had a gap in the knot when I bought it. I will tell you that I spent the years 2012-2020 in a lab studying mechanical failure, so I actually know this subject really well. Unfortunately, this business owner will not accept responsibility for a defective and dangerous product. In my view, I should be getting a replacement chair. He's claiming that the chair was leaned back on. It wasn't. The pictures tell the story here. The evidence is very strong. I've only been offered 15% off of the purchase of a new chair. Ummm, no, I'm not giving you another $425 of my money. So, if you buy anything here, inspect it well before you take it home.

Urban Ore Place is a large salvage yard and reuse center that features house items: furniture,…read morehardware, tools, and building materials section outside that's been around 40+ years! I used to visit to find that hidden gem or get inspired to transform a piece of unwanted item into a functional item like a planter or garden art. This place is great for a DIYer or handy man as items have so much potential but can be a bit overwhelming if you're looking for something specific. My recent visit was to find a replacement window for a mini table-top greenhouse I put together about 15 years ago. Unfortunately, after a recent windstorm, 1 window broke and needed to be replaced. The original windows I bought were from a salvage/building resource spot in SF. At the time, buying 6 windows cost me $70 at most. Now (15 years later) for the same quality it will cost you $35-$60/window at Urban Ore. Ouch! I guess these windows may be used for a remodel of an older home. They do have another section for cheaper windows but sadly they look like the one I'm trying to replace...some wood rot, flimsy, peeling and weathered as they're not protected from the elements. Staff outside are friendly and helpful. Worth a stop to check out but some pricing on items a bit higher. Parking inside the gate and along the street.

I went to the front and offered to take the CDs they were sending to the landfill. I stated I had boxes with me - the staff seemed amenable however when the manage Claudio was asked he overruled them and stated "no" - the CDs are now on the landfill - I have a machine to resurface discs, a press to flatten creased artwork and thousands of cases - however a company who's catch phrase is "zero waste" dumped" thousands of perfectly salvageable items. I contacted Urban Ore via email, via messaging and tagged them in social media as well as posting on their own FB page - no response. People donate items to Urban Ore thinking they think they are keeping them out of the landfill - the behavior of Claudio shows that this is a lie and Urban Ore appears to be a scam.
