Very good mattresses. We ended up getting the "cloud" though my favorite was a different one (blanking on the name) which is a memory foam with soft topper. The cloud does not have a topper but the mattress with topper was significantly more expensive so we decided we'd get an after market topper. The cool thing about the show room is that you can test out the feel of all of their mattresses. As I said the foam with topper suits me best but something else might work for you. They have great pillow options too by the way. Note: they are closed but if you're going to buy they may do a private appointment. 2nd note: I've bought 5 foam mattresses in my life and they all claimed not to smell. Not sure if Keetsa says they don't smell but this one does on unwrapping so air it out. (As did all 4 others I have bought from different companies). Up until four months ago I was still sleeping on coils. I'm slow to jump on the memory foam bandwagon, plus I don't like change and I'm cheap as hell. My mattress finally gave out after 9 years and I had to go searching for something new. I searched online for a while and did some comparisons. I liked how Keetsa is semi natural and the warranty is 12 years. Very cool how the mattress comes rolled up in a box, so easy to throw in my car! I did it all by myself! Prices are fair and the service from Charles was seamless. I have a nasty habit of cracking my back right when I wake up in the AM, it used to snap, crackle and pop. These days my back barely cracks, Keetsa must be realigning everything! Keetsa also won't honor the warranty: turns out if you check the fine print there's a ton of loopholes to ensure they don't actually have to comply with their promises of the "best warranty in the business". (Sorry to have to post this, because the sales crew there are so friendly and nice.) I bought a Keetsa Tea Leaf Supreme (all foam) mattress in mid/late 2010. I slept on it for less than a year before moving in with my girlfriend. We put the Keetsa Tea Leaf Supreme in the guest bedroom, and very few people slept on it for 3 years. My girlfriend and I slept on her mattress in the master bedroom. We got married and had a kid. :-) For the last 8 months, I have been mostly sleeping in the guest room (so I can get some rest with a sometimes crying baby in the other room) on the Keetsa Tea Leaf Supreme. This mattress, which has been used around two years in total now, has been sagging in the middle for the last several months, and I now have to sleep on the edges. Unbelievable! This mattress used to feel so great, and the middle is so saggy I can't sleep on it. (I weigh around 150) This mattress cost me $1300, and it is sagging after around two years of use?? Low grade! Someone near and dear to me pointed out that my mattress is all saggy in the middle!! What? Don't call me a whore! I have an occasional overnight guest. Is that so wrong? And I *heart* him with all of my.....um.....heart. Besides, he's a hot piece of ass and I won't give him up. So there. Off I went to research mattresses. Sure, I looked at the traditional mattresses, but was unimpressed. Sleep Train and Mancini's can bite me and my new Keetsa mattress! I really liked the idea of memory foam AND springs. Good combo, for my money. Besides, I got it home all by myself! No delivery needed. It still blows me away that such a high quality mattress can be compressed into such a small box. Fit right in the back seat of my Honda. No kidding! When I got my pillow-top mattress home and out of the box, it reminded me of liberating the Pilsbury biscuits from their cardboard prison by hitting the cylindrical package against the counter. *POOF* Yup, same effect with the Keetsa mattress. Not a review of the business but of the product (service was thorough and friendly) The Keetsa Plus caused me lower back pain. I went back, tried all the floor models again, and decided to get a 3 inch foam cover. Ended up making the pain worse, even though it was more comfortable when falling asleep. I travel A LOT and sleep in lots of different beds and it got to the point where I was dreading sleeping in the Keetsa. I was sleeping way better on motel beds! I don't know why the bed doesn't work for me; definitely a bummer. I'm in the process of selling it on CL now and am sleeping in the guest bed. Just wanted to let those checking out the beds to remember that a Keetsa isn't necessarily right for every single person. You be the judge. read more

Bought a Convertabed love-seat there 3 years ago for $750. Opened up the packing and it filled the living room with the scent of formaldehyde for days. I'm not chemically sensitive but it was nasty! They assured me that was normal. After a few months the cushions became very soft and unsupportive. (I only weight 155) I recently looked around at prices on this model and found they go for $250-$299. They didn't even deliver it. We had to borrow a truck and pick it up ourselves. After my update, I was contacted by Keetsa management who said that there was no reason to be suffering like I was and that toppers weren't the answer. I was given an invitation to return and see what could be done. Wow! Now that's great customer service. When we bought the bed, we also bought the extra insurance plan. We were about a month away from it being expired, so we were able to work out an exchange for an entirely different spring mattress. Not memory foam. The insurance that covered the return took a couple weeks of faxing and emailing photos to prove that it wasn't destroyed, and then there was a few days waiting for the delivery guys to show up. They took out the old mattress, boxed it up like magic, brought in the new mattress and set it up. What a great improvement. It isn't the perfect bed; we had to do some tweaking to make it firm enough for my husband with the back problems while not killing my hips, but he was able to move back into the bedroom! This is a major accomplishment for us, especially with the dismal outcome we had resigned ourself to. So, once again, the management and customer service at Keetsa is second to none. I would recommend getting the insurance policy, though. It's pricey, but we were able to save ourselves being out almost $2,000 by buying it. Also, don't get hung up on the whole mystique of memory foam. Seriously, the spring mattresses at Keetsa are good, and if you just go for memory foam because everyone tells you it's awesome, you might end up with something your really don't like because you've been drinking the "memory foam is the answer to all your problems" Kool-aid. read more

I called and talked with Chuck, the store manager about the fact that the pillow top part of the Keetsa mattress was shifting. It has moved over 2" in the past 2 years, so the top hangs over one side. This is a defect in the design... should not be happening to a good mattress (for this price)! 5 stars for this Keetsa store, it's GREAT. 3 stars for my "luxury" memory foam that is too big for my queen bed! We purchased a Keetsa mattress from the SF store, and after moving to Berkeley, I decided the bed was a bit firm for my taste. (It was the Pillow Soft model). Firm, as in, I was waking up with bruises on my hips from sleeping on my side. Not good. Decided to go to Keetsa to tell them what was going on. (the staff here-- Allison and I can't remember the guy's name-- were both wonderful!) They informed me that sometimes people do tend to choose mattresses that are firmer than what they really like to sleep on, when testing them out in the showroom, and that this is probably what happened to me. They also offered the solution of adding a comfort layer. I told them I was already using the dual-sided Keetsa comfort layer (1.5" I think), but still not quite comfortable. They suggested the luxurious mattress topper- 3" of foam, equivalent to as much foam as the nicer mattresses, for a fraction of the price. Hmm... it retails for $250. That's more than I'm looking to spend. They graciously offered to sell it to me at wholesale, given the extreme discomfort situation. A great discount. Awesome! The whole experience was great. However, months later, I am very, very frustrated that there are not sheets (anywhere in existence) big enough to fit on this queen sized mattress. The topper is actually a few inches wider than a queen size, and though sheets will fit on, at least one corner pops off every night. EVERY night. So I'm stuck wondering what to do now... did I get a defectively sized topper? Did they start making them smaller? My mattress is actually 17" deep, which puts it in range for deep pocket sheets, but they just won't stay on, because overall the topper makes the mattress too big! read more

Part One: I'll put the the customer service here (Robert and Jonathan) up against anyone. From the welcome at the door, the ongoing educated 'presence' (read: not pushy), to really helping us think, feel and lie (as in "lie" down) our way through the process of understanding our sleeping bodies (we're one back sleeper and one side sleeper)....the service was impeccable. In a crowded showroom, they handled everyone's questions, concerns and managed to sell quite a bit on that Sunday afternoon, even staying way past closing time to help some 'decision challenged' customers' (that would be us). Even if Robert and Jonathan excelled in psychological customer service 101, they came through with muscle as well (they delivered the mattress to our second story bedroom) and helped remove the old futon/frame. Even if you don't buy your bed here, you should come here for the bed buying experience.....and then, if you do go someplace else, you can at least compare it to the gold standard! read more

When my partner and I moved in with each other, we owned two older than old mattresses. For years we sacrificed discomfort over the belief that a new bed would cost an arm and a leg...from each of us. After several years of sacrifice we decided our backs have suffered enough, and we splurged on a new mattress from Macy's. Long story short, this was a terrible decision. The off gassing was so toxic smelling I couldn't sleep in the room for the first 3 weeks because it reeked of chemicals that made it impossible to sleep. In fact, we ended up sleeping on one of the old mattresses until we returned the mattress to Macy's. After that experience, we 1. didn't want to loose anymore money (Macy's charged a restocking fee of 15% of the cost of the mattress) and 2. we just wanted a good nights sleep. So we asked a few friends for a reference. Two pairs of our good friends referred us to Keetsa, so one weekend we went for a visit to the Berkeley location. We met Robert and told him our pitiful story about the Macy's mattress. He has years of experience with selling mattress and explained to us that off-gassing is common, and its worst with gel top mattresses like the one we returned. Based on our needs he recommended a few options and suggested we rest on them for a minimum of 15 minutes each. I prefer a firm mattress and my partner prefers something softer. We were literally there for about an hour asking questions and trying out mattresses. We loved one of the options, and cautiously decided to go home and think it over. Two weeks later we went back and tried the mattress again to make sure it was "the one". It still felt amazing so we made the purchase and took it home that day. It came compressed in a box that was light enough for the two if us to carry up our apartment stairs. The set up was super easy, and we have seriously been in heaven since. Everyday we wake up so grateful and satisfied with our purchase. We LOVE our mattress! We went back for a basic bed frame also. The customer service was great - very informative and never pushy. First and foremost, their mattress has been a lifesaver. I've had chronic back pain, and I've been at my lowest pain threshold in years thanks in part to my new mattress. On top of that, their entire business model is eco-friendly from materials through delivery. What a great company! So yes, Keetsa is a great company, but I really give this rating specifically to Keetsa in Berkeley. The sales staff was EXTREMELY helpful and took every effort to make sure we were well taken care of. There was a small, minor discoloration with our mattress topper, and we were concerned about it. We called up the store, and they told us to bring it in for an exchange. When we arrived at the store, the salesman came out to our car to help us bring it in (without us even going in to ask for help). He opened up a new one in the store and helped us inspect it for defects then carried the replacement out to our car for us, and we were off. Went in ready to buy, so if they failed to sell us a mattress it would have been pathetic. But it wasn't. In the name of saving resources, we wanted to get something used, but after reading about the bedbug epidemic in the bay area, we we're suddenly feeling 'motivated' to buy new. So we settled on something 'green.' It may not be made solely from organic cloud scrapings and wild-crafted dandelion puffs, but it sure seems to beat the heck out of the standard mattress construction and materials. And the "jam it in a box" shipping deal is very cool. We drove it home and got it into the house ourselves. No burly rent-a-dude required. I'm super smell sensitive, and had I known that upon decompression, the mattress was going to fart a cloud of new-stench that permeated the house for a few days, I would have had them (which I learned about a little too late) open it up and air it out in the warehouse for me. A week later, the smell is waaaaay down, but still present. Again, I'm super sensitive to smells, and according to Robert the super helpful sales guy, most people apparently don't have the reaction I had. I believe him. Personal nostril dramas aside, the mattress is large and in charge. Cal King "Pillow Soft" model. Awesome. Comfy. Solid. Writing postcards to my GF who is now on the other side of the room when we sleep. Night life is good. read more

We returned our Costco purchased Sealy mattress when the springs broke on one side of the bed after only about 5 months of use. Both my girlfriend and I were getting bad backs from the Sealy and sweated more than usual due to the synthetic material (memory foam). The bed got a slight odor even with using a mattress pad that was washed regularly. This sounds pretty gnarly, but needless to say we needed to find a better mattress. We looked around for a while only to find the same, overpriced, synthetically made mattresses; the type that off-gas when you take them out of the package so your recommended to not sleep on them for a week. Finally we found our Keetsa mattress and it has been great! The Keetsa is very comfortable and fixed our back problems after the first nights sleep. There was no foul off-gas when we installed the mattress and we no longer have the strange sweats because this mattress actually breaths. No odors either. Great buy! read more

LOVE my Keetsa Mattress!!! I got my Keetsa mattress about a month ago and I can't be more satisfied. The mattress got delivered (which is free throughout the bay area) in a timely manner, literally in a matter of days, came in a great compact size, and have offered me a month of great sleep. After hearing about Keetsa through Bay Area Bargins I stop by the store to try out the beds and I was super impressed. A large part of its appeal was the fact that the beds are completely eco-friendly, the sales guy Robert was also really great. He was really informative about the bed and didn't make me feel pressured into buying a mattress at all. I looked around at other mattress options but Keetsa stuck out and I ended up buying one. I chose the Pillow Soft Queen - in the store it felt really squishy but at home it's more firm than a typical memory foam/ pillow top mattress. Regardless I'm still satisfied! Maybe it's that he remembered which model we were interested in after our separate visits more than one month before. Or perhaps that he didn't mind that our 5 year-old was jumping on all the floor models. Or that he was patient and funny, answered our questions, and made the process effortless, including loading the bed in my tiny compact car. And our new bed? The heaven of our new memory foam bed after sleeping on what I thought was a decent, 15 year-old mattress. Or the excitement of watching a cal king decompress like a giant life raft on our floor. I'm thinking about calling the mattress tag police, because the one on this mattress has a glaring omission. It should have a warning that says, "This mattress is so freakin' comfortable you won't ever want to get up!" Indeed, I've owned many mattresses, but never one as comfortable as the Supreme. It's both soft and supportive. The memory foam makes you feel like you're floating on air. Yet, you don't wake up feeling like you've been in such a soft mattress that your back hurts. Additionally, the ease of buying it didn't hurt. No pressure sales tactics. Quick & easy purchase. A king-sized bed packed into a box the size of a steamer trunk. Natural, recycled rubber. Recycled steel frame (a must - our previous mattress got moldy from being on the floor ). All-in-all, guilt-free, win-win, and not too 'spensive. Caveat - would'a been 5 stars, but the natural rubber/green tea smell took a few weeks to go away. Not a deal killer, as it's better than toxic off-gassing, but I wouldn't mind no smell at all at this point. Sort of a combination between mint chocolate chip and cork. read more

Keetsa. Keetsa. How doth I feel about thee, Keetsa? Let me count the ways. Bed: Yummy. Comfy. Much better for my back. Rating: 5 stars! Customer service and sales: Warm. Helpful. Unintrusive and well trained. Rating: *7* stars! Return policy: Stupid. They charge 25% to return the bed once you walk out the door. This made me think twice... and I delayed getting a bed for a month as a result. No major mattress retailer does this (as far as I know... but what do I know). They say it's because they can't resell it and have to recycle it. Well, a decent explanation, but it still shows a lack of something to not guarantee the product. More so, upon checkout, I found out that the 25% return policy applies to *all* purchases, including bed frames. WTF? Now it just sounds greedy. Plus, you have to wait 30 days before you can even return it. ??? Rating: 1 star. Getting-the-bed-home arrangements: A giant pile of poo. They make it sound so easy, with the beds compressed into a box that easily unfold when you get it home. Emphasis on _you_ - as far as I know, they don't deliver... if they do, I was not offered a choice. This arrangement benefits them only because they can operate without hiring a delivery truck. Unfortunately, my back was oddly feeling a little... sensitive that day? (Had some back problems... but very infrequent.) And, getting the *130 lb box * up my stairs, even with help, completely threw out my back. (Which I was trying to help by buying a new bed.) Massive pain for weeks. Rating: 1 star. 5+7+1+1 = 14. 14/4 = 3.5. Overall rating: 3.5 stars. Deliberated about then giving them 3 vs 4 stars as a rating... gosh they're so nice.... Although honestly, I'm iffy about wanting to keep the metal bed platform - let's just say it gets, ahem, fairly noisy at... particular times... and it just annoys me that I can't return it for its full value. We stumbled on Keetsa because we had recently visited a Sleep Train store and were scared. I had not been mattress shopping since buying my first non-twin-lugged-across-the-country-from-my-childhood-home bed purchase at Ikea which was right next to the bed I bought from there. This last go-round, I felt more grown up. I should be able to shop at the grown-up mattress stores that I hear advertised on the radio constantly. (Who needs that many mattresses all the time anyway?) We walked into a Sleep Train randomly because we couldn't find another store we were looking for and had time to kill. I figured we would get an idea of prices and flop on some beds for fun. But it wasn't fun. There were a gazillion choices and at the prices they were asking, I was expecting breakfast in bed. Then I remembered another mattress ad on the radio called Keetsa and figured since they were in Berkeley, we could add them to the ordeal of mattress shopping. Thank goodness we went to them first. We walked into the Berkeley store to a showroom of only a few (6?) mattresses. Michelle welcomed us in, asked us a few questions and pointed us towards two we should try based on our firmness preferences. She told us more about the company and business model as we lounged on the bed and after answering a few questions, left us to try our two choices on our own time. We picked one we liked best and then decided to look at the moment of $$. I was shocked to find that the price tag at the end of the bed we picked was much lower than I was expecting. And just like that, our mattress shopping expedition was over. We didn't buy the mattress until a week later when we actually moved, but we got a queen sized mattress in the back of our Saturn and went our merry way. The mattress is comfy. I also got a memory foam pillow that was a bundled deal with mattress covers and pillow covers and it's also very comfy. We went on to tell all of our friends about Keetsa and hopefully, they'll think of them the next time they go mattress shopping. read more

I'm happy with my Keetsa Pillow Plus mattress so far even though it was a bit more money than I was looking to pay. But compared to Tempur-Pedic for exaxmple, Keetsa was a bargain & more healthful/eco-friendly. The mattress seems very comfy plush & relaxing so far although at this point I've only had it about a week. It seems to support my entire body well without being too firm or too soft but I hope it's durable and doesn't wear out too soon. I came from using totally firm mattresses all my life & when my last mattress was ready to be replaced, I decided I wanted something still firm, but more comforting against my body this time around since I tend to sleep on my side, stomach as well as on my back. The fact that their mattresses are more eco-friendly than others was like icing on the cake. I like how with Keetsa, I could choose between a traditional spring coil mattress with a memory foam top built-in or a foam mattress with memory foam top built-in ala Tempur-Pedic. I can really see the appeal of a foam mattress, but I prefer a spring mattress with memory foam on top; for me the less foam in my environment, the better. The service I experienced in this store was really not that great though. The guy (Robert) seemed a bit pre-occupied with using his cellphone although he was helpful in answering any questions I had. But he did not offer me any extras like pillows or anything like I've read some others might have gotten for free. Also, when he rang the transaction up, he didn't ask me what size & just charged my credit card for a Queen size, but I wanted a Full! He refunded the difference but it took a full week for the refund to credit back to my credit card-irritating. After the purchase, he did help load the box into my car but wouldn't put it in the way I wanted to citing that he could be arrested if he put it in my way. Big sigh. I've been transporting things in my car 'my way' for years without any problem. He should have just let me load it myself, my way instead of insisting on his way. After unpacking, uncompressing & setting up the mattress at home, which was a surprisingly easy process, I noticed very little odor, a fact I was quite pleased with after having previously helped a friend unpack another brand of memory foam topper which emitted a really horrible odor for the first week. Keetsa really does seem better in that respect. I'm very sensitive to odors (I even try to hold my breath while walking down the cleaning products aisle at the grocery store) & the Keetsa had a pleasant not too chemically odor which dissipated after about a day. I even slept on it the first night I had it and really didn't have any issues or discomfort in that respect even though I could smell something. The smell was not unpleasant at all and Keetsa has third party reports stating it's fumes are non-toxic. This company is only 4 years old so I guess only time will tell how well their mattresses hold up. Will the memory foam wear out in a few years for example? Hopefully not. I've read a few reviewers state they think Keetsa is not as eco friendly or green as the company's marketing purports. But think about it: -the fact that Keetsa mattresses come compressed in a box and can be taken home in the customer's car or delivered by UPS trucks already going to your area naturally makes Keetsa more green than any other mattress company. -Keetsa uses more organic materials in their mattresses than other mattress companies and replaces a percentage of petroleum for foam with natural ingredients -Keetsa publishes third party findings on outgassing VOCs for their products, something other mattress companies don't do. -Keetsa clearly states their goals to be 'green' and eco friendly. While these are made in China, this fact does not automatically make them bad. Although I would probably personally prefer to pay a little bit more and have them made in the USA or Canada, this fact should not dissuade you from giving Keetsa your consideration. I've read that prior Attorney General of California Jerry Brown (now Governor) & his wife own a Keetsa-I really doubt he would buy crap. In all, I think it might be worth it to take a look at Keetsa. I like my mattress so far but only time will tell how it holds up long term. read more

Friendly, fast, super comfy and fun to unpack! Though the exterior of the store seems a bit minimal, once inside you have access to samples of all their comfy products. The staff has been responsive and friendly on all my visits, and the fact that they encourage extra time on the display beds is nice. Honestly, I don't remember any noxious smell when I first opened my bed, and it's been pleasant to use for a year and a half. Choose the softness of your mattress carefully though! I thought I needed a soft mattress, but too soft led to eventual back pain. So don't go for the most expensive mattress just because it seems all tricked out. We bought tea leaf supreme with the steel bed frame. With in 2.5 year the bed lost shape and comfort. Both of us had back pain waking up. We provided all Info to claim the warranty. Customer service was terrible, the claim denied. We decided to replace our mattress with a different brand/ company- when we received our new mattress the techs said the frame was garbage and needed to be replaced. How awesome is it that you can get an eco-friendly mattress at a fraction of the cost of Big Mattress mattresses? Very. Very awesome. The guy at the store was the complete opposite of slimy salesmen we ran into at Big Mattress stores. He looked like someone we'd be friends with. That really helps. Many of the mattresses we tried felt nice, but we ended up with the Keetsa Cloud. From the very first night, sleep was incredibly restful. I actually did not end up buying a mattress here because it was just a level above my price range, but I really wanted to leave some feedback so people know that yes, this place truly is as great on customer service as everyone is saying. Jonathan helped me, but I get the impression that everyone who works there is as helpful and informative. He really encouraged me to take my time with each mattress, and was very forthcoming on telling me exactly what the differences were between the different mattresses, and all their features. He was also very respectful of my saying I would shop around and come back, and even told me a place around the corner that I could do a comparison with that offered other eco-friendly mattresses. With three shops in two days, Keetsa was far and away the best customer service, and they are selling a wonderful product as well. If price were no obstacle, I'd have bought their mattress, but as it is I'm just out of school in my first job. Thanks, though, for your excellent customer service! read more

BUYER BEWARE: BERKELEY KEETSA FLOOR MODEL IS FAULTY If you tried out the Pillow Plus Mattress Floor Model between dates 11/17/17 - 1/12/18 (possibly longer), the floor model you tried out is a false representation of the Pillow Plus. Two store managers (Berkeley and San Fran) and the Operations Manager for Keetsa told me directly the company has changed the model. The stitching is now tighter and thus creates a much firmer mattress. I don't know if this is true for other mattress models, but it is 110% true for the Pillow Plus model in all sizes ranging from twin to King. I purchased a Pillow Plus on 11/21/17 because I loved the feel of the floor model and was impressed with the full Keetsa package - 3 day delivery, 90 days to return/exchange and 12 year warranty. My mattress is a ROCK (obviously not as described in "Pillow Plus"). Delivery was delayed to 7 days instead of 3 (inconvenient for the move into my new home) with no communication from Keetsa. I am even more unsatisfied with Keetsa's manner of handling this large mistake. The ONLY remaining softer version of this mattress is the floor model in Berkeley - no older soft models in stock anywhere. (I tried another one of the new mattresses to see if mine was simply defective - no luck, same hard ROCK. ) Floor models are normally sold at 50% off with no return/exchange and no warranty. Given that there are no soft models to exchange for, I would have wanted the store to give me 50% off the floor model and to retain my full warranty and 90 day return/exchange. Keetsa offered me the floor model at 50% off, but refuses to include the 12 year warranty or 90 day return/exchange. The only reason cited to me by Marcus (Operations Manager) is this would be "unfair" to other clients who have purchased the floor model. The main problem I have with this is that I am not a floor-model customer. The floor model is the ONLY way they can give me the product they sold me. Not giving me what they sold me is UNFAIR to me!! Honoring my warranty and exchange seems in order given that I def. need a warranty and exchange after the way the first transaction went. They did offer me the floor model at only 25% off with option to return/exchange and a 10 year warranty. This asks me to pay 25% more than a floor model is worth. Again, Marcus is not concerned that this is unfair to me. Instead, I am getting a full return and will now shop for mattresses all over again while sleeping on a ROCK hard mattress for however long that takes. Thanks Keetsa. When I first learned of the discrepancy, Chuck (Berkeley manager) told me I could get a full refund or get the floor model for 50% off. I asked a lot of questions. I finally decided to take the floor model at 50% off. Chuck took my credit card number and was going to refund 50% back to my card WITHOUT disclosing I would lose my return/exchange and warranty. Fortunately, I thought to ask just before he processed the transaction. Prior to this, he had not told me about the option to get the mattress at 25% off and retain the warranty and return/exchange. Chuck was not discussing warranties and return/exchange options. I had to ask. He did not apologize for the lack of disclosure when I noted it. I learned of the mattress discrepancy on 1/3/18. On 1/6/18, I watched Chuck suggest several customers lay down on the faulty Pillow Plus, telling them it was their "softer mattress." On 1/12/18, Chuck still had the faulty model on the floor. This is an update to my previous review, which was filtered just because I'm a new reviewer. When I wrote the review, I had owned the bed for about 8 months. Now, I have owned it for 15 months, and it only gets better. It was a little firm, but with time it has relaxed. The smell has dissipated, at least I don't notice any unpleasant smell. At this point I have 2 reasonably minor complaints: As another Yelper mentioned, it is difficult to find sheets that fit completely over the mattress, with cover and memory foam layer, not to mention the feather bed I like to use in the winter. The mattress protector has never fit the bed correctly, it is quite droopy on the edges. Joe told me to bring it back to the store to get another one, but I just don't get over there very often, so I haven't changed it. We also had an annoying problem when our cat figured out how to open the velcro on the cover of the foundation, and was climbing inside on the bottom & crawling around beneath the foundation, stretching the fabric out with her weight. We remedied the problem by reversing the cover, so that the velcro portion faces upward, beneath the mattress. read more

I'm very sorry to give this business a thumbs down . I called the store and spoke to Chuck. This man basically promised my mattress would be delivered within one week..,.. he deliberately misled me.... failing to say the mattress was coming from New Jersey'..... I'm still waiting ..... although he did apologize when I called him back he never offered any compensation for my inconvenience as I cancelled an important appointment to be there for the delivery that he promised ! read more

I think I was helped by Andy? My ex and I went mattress hunting about a year ago but weren't really prepared to invest in a mattress. The staff was incredibly helpful, full of useful information, and let us take all the time we needed. We went home to think about it, then came back and purchased the mattress the next day. It was conveniently stored in a pressure sealed box on wheels that fit EASILY into the back of our car!!! The staff even helped us out. This was the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. read more

While I know it will take some time for me to get to know my Keetsa, I do want to give a shout out to Chuck at the Berkeley Keetsa store. My boyfriend and I decided we had had enough with our teeny tiny sagging IKEA mattress. We planned a day of mattress shopping and at the advice of my mother decided to stop-in at Keetsa to see what was up. What a great experience! My boyfriend and I have both had quite a few negative experiences with sales people judging us from the start and writing us off. Not the case at Keetsa where we were treated with respect and given the space and time we needed to make our decision. It was such a positive experience, and me and the beau decided that for us it was important to buy a product that was more eco-friendly than what we would find at Mancini's or Sleep Train. After laying on the beds at Keetsa for a while we decided to go ahead and purchase a mattress there. The decision felt so natural and we both are really happy with our decision. Plus, we took our Queen mattress home in a box that fit in the backseat of my Mini Cooper convertible. Now THAT is awesome! p.s. the store is BEAUTIFUL. very minimal. nice lighting. we were able to lay on some of the beds and just stare out the windows at the sky - very tranquil. all these details helped make for a really positive mattress shopping experience. definitely recommend! read more

We LOVE our Keetsa! Our mattress exploration started after my fiancee and I bought an antique bed frame, which I thought was a queen, but ended up being a California King. Oops. We put our mattress in the guest room and started searching mattress stores. We visited a couple of the chain stores close to home (Sausalito), but they were incredibly impersonal, uncomfortable, and we didn't leave with a good feeling. We made the drive over to Berkeley one weekend, and bought our mattress the same day. Our salesman (whose name I can't remember) was incredibly helpful, but very low-key and pressure free. He let us take as much time as we needed, and sort of stayed in the background unless we had questions. After comparing a couple, he got us to try their high end Tea Leaf Dream, which was miles above all of the other mattresses. We bounced back and forth, but in the end it was a no-brainer. Because it was a Cal King it had to be delivered, and my only complaint was that I had to go out of town, and so I didn't get to see the mattress come out of the box and inflate like those foam dinosaurs! However, when I got back from my trip I had the most incredible new bed ever. About 6 months later, we are still so thankful for finding Keetsa. Every time I travel I crave returning to my bed at home. read more

Great mattress + Awesome service = 5 stars. Our mattress was old. We bought it off of craigslist used about 10 years ago. (Gross, I know, but our standards were low after sleeping on dorm mattresses for the past year.) A mattress topper helped, but we started to get back pain in the morning. We finally decided to get a new mattress. We knew we didn't want to support a company that manufactures a typical mattress full of synthetic materials and VOCs, so spent hours at European Sleepworks and some other higher end mattress stores. We finally settled on Keetsa cause they had a great deal and the company has an innovative approach to its distribution model that strives to conserve resources. Robert was super helpful and low pressure. We had some issues with the mattress we brought home, but Robert took care of us and even exceeded our expectations. We are super impressed by how Robert and Keetsa have looked after us to make sure that we were happy. We are definitely recommending them to all of our friends. We are really satisfied with our mattress - Tea Leaf Supreme - and the service we received throughout the perusing / purchasing / delivery / set-up / troubleshooting process. From A to Z, Andy and the other folks we dealt with were straightforward, easy-going and responsive. perusing: NO PRESSURE. lots of time and space to test-out the mattresses any which way we wanted, but totally available to answer all our questions. purchasing: we needed time to think about it; couldn't decide while we were at the store. when we were ready, Andy kept it convenient and let us call in our purchase rather than come back in. delivery and set-up: we opted for the $50 delivery and set-up. repeatedly, but not annoyingly, Andy explained to us how best to prepare our frame set-up to accommodate the mattress and its air-circulation needs. we did our best, but when Jeremy came to do the delivery and set-up, he was mindful in communicating that we probably still hadn't done enough. he was patient and generous with his advice as to how to keep stepping to get our frame in best shape for the mattress. troubleshooting: within days of sleeping on the mattress, we could feel the very positive difference and benefit of the mattress. we were sleeping *very* well. nonetheless, we had some questions about if we'd actually gotten the mattress we'd ordered. via some email and phone correspondence over the next few weeks, Andy and his manager worked with us to figure things out in a mutually satisfactory way. I made some mistakes along the way in conveying information from my end, but they were still pleasant and patient throughout. the combination of the post-purchase service the Keetsa (and related) folks offered, along with the REALLY very outstanding sleep we're now getting is what makes Keetsa, from here on out, our first stop for any future mattress shopping. There IS a distinct smell that the mattress emits - for more than just a few days - but my partner and I agree it was nothing compared to the strong and long-lasting smell we had on the memory-foam mattress we'd purchased several years ago from another vendor. We are so happy with our experience at Keetsa and, obviously, with the mattress itself. We got the Tea Leaf Supreme, the bed frame they sell and the mattss protector. From the second we were greeted by Joe when we arrived he was so helpful and down to earth. We were referred to the store by a friend of mine who bought their mattress there and they love it. My wife is pregnant and has some back pains, so finding a comfortable and supportive mattress is really important. This mattress is amazing and the perfect fit. I appreciate that it is an Eco friendly mattress too. I highly recommend Keetsa to anyone shopping around. read more

moving, and that means i get to replace my mattress! i think it was jonathan who helped us out that day. he knew his beds. we tested out the beds and pillows and my favorite is the tea leaf supreme. it was amazing. my sister also got a bed from them too that day. jonathan gave us a free pillow and we had a coupon from the ecometro book for another free pillow. he helped us load the beds, which were compressed in boxes on wheels into our van. we also took home a few boxes of green tea! we were provided with great customer service. note: these boxes are not light at all. i was struggling with taking the box up some stairs and taking the mattress out when i got home. but it was worth it, im laying on my new bed typing this review! read more

After shopping around and coming across many eco-friendly mattrresses that were way too expensive, yelp led me to Keetsa. Michelle answered the phone, I asked her a few questions and decided to stop by. Later that day, Michelle met me with a warm smile, remembered my name, and did a great job of answering all of my questions. I returned later that week to make my purchase, and I've been super happy with. I particularly love the fact that it fit into my Honda Civic, so I didn't need to pay and organize delivery. It is true that the mattress is not 100% natural, but it's not $2000 either, way south of 1k even. For me it was the perfect choice. The mattress is great and Keetsa seems to be a wonderful eco-friendly company, but ultimately it was the warmth and customer service provided by Michelle and Allison that inspired this review.
