No Bull? Buyers beware they have surcharges.....not listed on their website, which is bull if you ask me. I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman at Earnhardt Lexus this week. We have been in the market for a new Lexus, and trying to narrow down the model. There is one IS 500 in the valley at the moment, and it happens to be at Earnhardt Lexus at 7th Street and Camelback. We called before driving 1 hour to see the car, and Erica confirmed it was on their showroom floor. When we arrived, we were greeted by a salesman who invited us in, offered us water and showed us the stunning red IS 500. He opened the car door for us, let us sit down. We said, love it. We would like to drive it. "oh let me get approval since it is on the showroom floor". He goes and comes back, and says "we only want to pull it out if you are serious buyers. We do not want to put the miles on the car." We said we were. He pushed back saying, well we want you to understand what it all entails to buy this car. We responded that we saw the Earnhardt Lexus website where it lists $66,130. I see the sticker on the car where it says $66,130. I can use an online calculator to figure sales tax, and what that would be. Age of technology and all. He brings us over to his computer where he shows us the "No Bull" fees for purchasing this car. MSRP $66K is not what this car is selling for. They have a surcharge that is not included on the sticker or the website since these cars are hard to come by of a few thousand dollars. Charging for the 3M paint protection lining. Charging for "nitrogen air" that goes in the tires. Tint (which I understand a lot of dealerships do charge). The list goes on. With tax, over $80K. Dealerships can charge what they want, but don't sell your brand on a No Bull experience. Don't say it is available for test drive, then give a ton of push back when serious buyers say they want to test drive. Did we not look like the clients who can afford $80K? Good news, Jordan at Lexus of Chandler is not charging surcharges on the IS 500 models. Surcharge is every business's right to do. This review is to alert anyone else in the market for a magical unicorn IS 500....you do not have to deal with a No Bull experience of bogus fees. Lexus of Chandler does not charge for the 3M pain protection or nitrogen air to be put in those fancy tires. Also Lexus of Chandler was happy to pull two cars out of their showroom floor for me to drive without a problem saying "that is what they are here for. We want to earn your business. How will you want to buy a car if you can't drive it?" Can't wait to buy my IS 500 from another dealership other than Earnhardt Lexus and drive it back by like Julia Roberts...."Remember me? No.....? I had just walked out of a dealership due to the high pressure sales tactics that was being brought on to me and was about to give up on shopping for a car due to the stress but for some reason decided to try one more place. I am so glad I did! I cannot even explain the vast difference in treatment I was given here. Anthony was the most professional, non-pressure salesman I had dealt with. He was up front with prices and even pointed out flaws I had not noticed with the car. Anthony, thank you for being such an honest and respectful person! I don't know what it is about some of these car dealers if I were a car dealer I would totally not try to fit the stereo typical example of what a car dealer is like. I wanted to buy a $60,000 car and when I asked a few questions regarding several issues was given A rude response To a very fair question. Condescending and rude is no way to treat customers. Funny thing is They continue to follow up and see if I want to buy a car from them! Young lady that was working with us Saw how one of the managers spoke to me and saw my response to what I took as a very rude response to a question. Ever notice sometimes when you walk into a luxury shop either car jewelry etc. that the staff there thinks that they are the wealthy people and you are intruding into their space and doing you a favor speaking to you! When the sales person followed up they didn't apologize or even mention anything which would've gone a long way. Sorry I took my business to another show room. read more

Both my husband and I have been going to Rick (service advisor) for 18 years. Even when it was the Lexus dealership in South Scottsdale on McDowell Rd and was subsequently purchased by Earnhardt. I admit that the previous owners had a different philosophy and it was more family-like and connected, Rick helped us make the not-as-easy transition. Yes, I miss the free high quality snacks among other things... And yes, we also tried the Scottsdale Lexus a couple times because it is closer to our house. They and their 'best' service advisor can not come remotely close to the genuine care, integrity, and grace-under-fire that RICK embodies. No, Earnhardt Lexus is not perfect and I have had issues but I forgive and forget because of Rick. Lexus better be paying him the big bucks because he is the reason we return year after year. After a less than enjoyable experience at another dealership, my husband and I drove out of our way to come to Earnhardt. To be fair, we had the car pretty much picked out, just needed to get some questions answered on specific details. Right away we were greeted kindly and handed off to a professional sales person, Tom. We even got to meet the dealership manager, who was very kind and helpful. It was clear they were listening to us and actually cared about what we wanted, rather than just 'closing a sale' or trying to make a commission. I am not a 'car person' and I was never made to feel like I was annoying or uneducated by asking the questions I asked, which certainly were in a very non 'car person' way! Horsepower, engine size, etc. are and will always be foreign concepts to me. I still deserve to feel comfortable in a car I like and the folks at Earnhardt made me feel that way through the entire process. We ended up buying the car we knew we wanted, and it had to be shipped from out of state. That process took longer than anticipated but Tom kept us informed the entire process every step of the way and gave me a loaner car so my husband and I would still have two vehicles while we waited for arrival (we traded one in). None of the delays were because of Earnhardt, it was just a long process to get the car to AZ! We also left some personal items in our trade in vehicle on accident. Tom went above and beyond to get those items the next night and make sure they were ready for us when we came back into the sales center. When we got our new car, the delivery specialist was also very helpful. The presentation and service we received exceeded my expectations. I already know they are going to follow up with me over the next weeks and months as we settle into the new car, and I know I can contact them anytime with a question or problem. I have owned Lexus cars most of my adult life. And this service dept falls short. They over book appointments so you have to wait to see your service advisor. They text you that your car is ready when it is not and you have to wait an additional 35 mins. Plus, they readjusted my outside mirrors which I have not ever had a Lexus dealer do before. read more

RIPOFF ARTISTS!!!! Lexus.com is advertising an RX350 lease of $449 per month. So, I inquired about it at this dealership. Apparently, they are not participating in the promotion. And, they marked the lease up another $350 to $400 per month. When I asked why, they said it is because there is a limited supply of cars right now. Using that logic, I guess it's ok to charge people $10 per roll of toilet paper when there's a shortage. Message to Earnhardt: what you are doing is price gouging!!! Thank you Earnhardt Lexus auto center for providing outstanding service with each routine maintenance. The main reason I scheduled an appointment was to resolve the airbag sensor flashing continuously (aside from the standard oil change). The day of my appointment, there was no wait. The reason I mention this is because time is valuable and good customer is important to me. I have a dealership back at my home state, and I compare their services throughout the years. The other auto center is lacking in some areas and not as prompt as Earnhardt. Anyhow, Earnhardt Service quickly determined the cause of the air bag sensor and worked efficiently to fix the connectors. They kept me informed during the wait. My advisor was clear with the additional labor cost which was totally fine. I highly recommend Earnhardt. Overall, I'm happy with their exceptional services (scheduler, valet attendant and Service Advisors were all courteous and professional). read more
