I first became a customer of Earnhardt Lexus in 2011 (back then it was Scottsdale Lexus). I worked with Don Lierman (now retired) on the lease (and later a purchase) and Rick Johnson in service for the entire 6 years as a Earnhardt Lexus customer. Don was great and easy to work with, and I hope he's having a wonderful retirement. Rick Johnson is absolutely amazing. He's responsible for my faith in Lexus and expectations of stellar customer service. Rick is fair, kind, responsive, and someone who I completely trust to care of my vehicle. I only went to Earnhardt Lexus because that's where Rick is. In addition to his fantastic knowledge of the Lexus line-up, I feel like I got to know Rick a little bit over the several years he serviced my IS250 and I enjoyed this friendship. Really, I would call it a friendship because Rick is great guy. In fact, I considered purchasing another Lexus from Earnhardt Lexus because I knew I could work with Rick as my service technician. Sometimes, Rick and I would even talk about the pros and cons of other car makes and we could have an honest dialogue about what I loved and didn't like about new Lexus models. He gave me great perspective and never pushed the Lexus brand. Rick never over-diagnosed/over-recommended service and so when he noticed something I trusted his advice on when to have it taken care of. I moved 45 minutes away and still drove to Earnhardt Lexus when I lived in Phoenix. One time, I even left a pair of expensive pants I had picked up from alterations in the back of loaner car upon pick-up of my car. Frantic, I texted Rick the next day and he mentioned the car had been loaned out to someone but would see what he could do. He communicated with me throughout the search and within a few days had located the pants! Rick's been great for any service need I had: from regular maintenance to check-ups before road trips, remote battery replacements or quick questions. And I will say, not all Lexus service is the same. I recently moved to Bellevue, WA and was a bit shocked at the poor customer service I received at a local dealership. (No loaner car, rushed interactions with the technicians, some odd recommendations for repair). I actually texted Rick to ask for his advice and he was responsive, empathetic, and even asked around for a more customer-friendly Lexus dealership in the area. Even though I've had good customer service at Lexus of Seattle, and at other dealerships in the Phoenix area like Bell Lexus, each time I go somewhere outside of Earnhardt Lexus I always find myself saying, "I wish I could still work with Rick." I think it's that level of trust you have that is hard to replace -- especially with car dealerships. Seriously, this is what W calls its Concierge. Then valet calls up a driver in a new Lexus to provide a ride, gratis, one-way anywhere within a five mile radius of the hotel. Everyone always talks about "their mechanic" or "their guy." Earnhardt lexus seems like this to me even though it is a dealer. They always give me the best advice for my car and when I should get repairs. They clearly are not in it just to get sales, if there is any coupon out there they let me know about it before doing anything on my car. The lounge is very comfortable with many refreshments and DirecTV if you need to wait for you car. If you don't have time to wait they are very good about letting you use a loaner car even overnight. Last time i went i got a 2013 ES which is the next car i want to get so it was great, like a test drive without the sales pitch. I'd like to start by mentioning how courteous and professional this dealership is! Especially in the service department and specifically Josh Harris. Since day one, I have always brought my Lexus IS-250 to him and each time it has always been a wonderful and great experience with his help and knowledge. To be specific on one experience, I recently moved up to North Phoenix so decided to go on over to Bell Lexus; wrong idea. I had recently purchased to new rims for the passenger side as well as two new tires. Not long, I got a nail/hole in one of them - the tire was under warranty - so I took it in to Bell Lexus. Not only did they not get the tire number/code wrong where in which they were telling me I'd have to purchase a new tire but they also said it would cost money to take a loaner vehicle while it was being replaced for the day...... I have never in my life had to pay for a loaner vehicle at Earnhardt Lexus and the service techs were definitely not helpful at Bell Lexus. I unfortunately had to wait till The following Monday (a couple of days) to go to Earnhardt Lexus, let them know of my situation, and ended up solving the problem... With a loaner at no charge. As I stated, Josh Harris is a great service technician and would highly recommend him to anyone due to his expertise and knowledge on these vehicles... VERY POOR SERVICE after the sale!!! I purchased a used car on 3/8/17. My sales consultant, Mike Testani, was AWESOME! I highly recommend him! There was a valet key missing from one of the key fobs, so Mike had a replacement sent to me. My wife was not able to go to Earnhardt Lexus with me because she was recovering from a car accident. I had to do the paperwork at the dealership and then they sent someone home with me to get my wife's signatures and return to the dealership. To this point, I was very pleased. After that point, the service from the finance department has been very poor! By 3/27/17, I had not heard anything or received the documents in the mail as promised. I called Mike and asked if he knew when I could expect them. He said Brandon had gone for the day but he would email him and follow up the next day. On 3/29/17, I still had not heard anything from Brandon, so I called Mike again. He said he had talked to Brandon on 3/28 and he would talk to him again the next day because Brandon was off on the 29th. On 3/30/17 (22 days later) I received a call from Vicki Fortner informing me that we had not signed a title and registration application. She emailed it to me and we signed it, scanned and emailed it back. By 4/1/17 at 9:22 AM, I had not received verification of Vicki receiving my signed application so I called and left a message on her voicemail. On 4/3/17 at 4:23 PM, I still had not received verification from Vicki that she had received my signed application so I called and left a message on her voicemail again and also sent an email. On 4/4/17 at 7:24 AM I received this email: Good morning Mark, Sorry to have missed your call. It is month end close for us in accounting and I was not at my desk at times yesterday. I did receive your signed title app and have scanned the documents to our processing agent. They are very careful so it usually takes a few days. Been taking my car here for more than five years. Same with my mom, sister, and step father. All of our vehicles have been purchased from this location. Lexus makes fantastic vehicles, and obviously we're all pleased with this specific affiliate. Despite clear customer loyalty, almost every other time I go in for an oil change frighteningly my car is somewhere between one and twenty thousand miles away from going up in flames and sending me straight to purgatory, and that it all could be avoided if I consent to some vague sounding expensive repair. My 2016 Lexus NX 200t f sport had a loud clicking noise from the dash board of the passenger side since I bought the car new and it was still under warranty. Lexus of Chandler said it was caused by the windshield (it was replaced by Safelite Auto Glass for the stone damage). I argued that the noise had been there before the windshield was replaced, but Lexus of Chandler did not listen to me and said they would fix it if I paid for the repair. I decided to ask Safelite for a warranty repair. Safelite said it is impossible for the windshield to cause the noise but they replaced it with a brand new glass anyway. Guess what... the noise was still there, it was louder and more annoying than before. I determined to give Earnhardt Lexus a try as I heard good stories about them. As expected, Earnhardt Lexus fixed the noise by putting some extra padding in the dashboard. In addition, Earnhardt Lexus treated me like a VIP -- they don't charge $20 for the loaner (Lexus of Chandler charge $20 for the loaner) and they also gave my car a thorough wash.
