Been here multiple time in the past. The biggest problem used to be the lack of air flow... Way too hot and stinky during the summer. BIG surprise, they got fans installed! Now the air circulation is great I am sweating non stop. Also put up some cool wall dividers so you can have a little bit of privacy when you are eating. As for the food, fairly standard breakfast food. I have tried the breakfast burrito and different egg variations. Food has continued to taste great. Now the coffee on the other hand can use some work. read more

I tried many things here back in the day and my favorite is the Belgian Waffle with fresh fruit. It is the best I have ever had and I've tried it at many other places. It is a morning place and is clean and a nice simple restaurant and there will often be a wait to be seated. read more

Located in the corner of a strip mall past Seth Childs off of Kimball. As you can see from the pictures the ambiance is a little lacking. Basically wooden benches and tables. I usually come here as a second choice to The Chef across town if I don't want to drive that far. Order the all you can drink coffee and there is a carafe at your table they will refill. The coffee is okay, nothing great. I always order the meat lovers skillet when I'm here. Its definitely the most food you get for your money. Comes in a ceramic skillet with eggs, potatoes, cheese, sausage, bacon, peppers. This place is okay overall. I do prefer the Chef since it's a lot brighter and a younger more energetic crowd. But this is a good second choice breakfast place since I hate Denny's. read more

Food was great but service left a lot to be desired. The staff was very young and inexperienced, and we saw a few of the waitresses drop things on the way to the table... it was almost like a comedy skit in there. They definitely need a more mature staff or a better training program. Food took quite a while to come out, but it was well worth it. There was 4 of us and none of us had complaints. Two of us got eggs Benedict (absolutely wonderful--glad to find a place out here that has it!), one got French toast, and the other got a western omelet. No pictures because we started eating immediately due to the wait time. Will definitely return because the food was great, but I wasn't thrilled about the staff. My husband and I are planning on trying the other location to see if the service is any better. The lady at the front desk was rude to us as well... we asked to put our name in, not knowing there was a separate table for it, and she just snapped her gum at us and stared, then rudely pointed in a mocking way toward the table that you sign in on. read more

Terrific service, standard food, bland decor. Love Early Edition as it is nearby. The food is more than passable, it just isn't special. Friendly, friendly, friendly. Super good with kids. Full kiddo menu. I usually just get "the usual," eggs, toast, hash browns, and link sausage. The sausage is the real deal and a hidden gem on the otherwise basic menu. The coffee is basically traditional mom and pop stuff. If you've lived in rural America, you know what I mean. In fact, that describes early edition in a lot of ways. Contemporary rural, midwestern restaurant. High school kids take the orders and bus the tables. All around super pleasant. read more

This is a little gem of a breakfast place! I had the salmon mid morning plate with scrambled eggs and veggies topped with Hollandaise! Yummo! Hubby had the CatBacker and was almost more than he could eat! Super service too! In and out quick! No wait for table seating either'. Bright, cheery and friendly atmosphere! We've been a couple of times and the food and service are great. A really good value for your money. I always leave full and happy.

Very good food, usually good service. Today special was posted at cashier desk so I ordered it. Tasted great. When I went to pay I said that had the special and pointed to the sign next to her. She informs me that was yesterday's special and proceeded to charge me full price. Then proceeded to leave the sign up and didn't bother to remedy my request to honor the posted price. That is down right thieving. Don't visit this Early Edition. Location is a little run down. Visit the 4th street location for better service and tastier food. read more

Fantastic food and very friendly service! We stopped here on a Sunday morning and had a great time. The blueberry pancake was enormous and delicious! We also ordered "The Colonel" scramble with potatoes, eggs, ham, chicken, and hollandaise sauce, which was glorious! Highly recommended!!! read more

This is my favorite place for breakfast and lunch in Manhattan.. Everything on the menu is good. I favor the banana nut pancakes, which are huge, and also the chicken melt sandwich. No less than 15 workers for a mid size dining room... At least five "greeters" up front so it must have been a training day, although there wasn't much work or training going on from what I could see. Food was delicious and our waitress was very patient and kept busy in the midst of her slacking coworkers. Brought my brother and sister here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. I got one of the 'tater skillets with sausage, eggs, and bacon, bro got a Belgian waffle, and sis got the french toast. All the food was seasoned and cooked perfectly to our taste - everything was delicious and hearty - bro said this is the first time in years that he's ordered a Belgian waffle and gotten a real Belgian waffle. This is a nice local place. I will go over the downside first. They don't serve alcohol, so I wouldn't really consider it "brunch". I wouldn't invite family and friends out to this place either. There is exposed plywood where carpet is missing, and the half walls really give the place a converted gas station feel. Also, they leave a ton of stuff on your table (extra glasses) which makes me think they don't wash them well I between...and it's annoying. The bathrooms are one stall, so if you come on a Sunday you will have to wait for 12 little girls in nylons to use it. The good: The food is awesome. The menu is surprisingly good, and diverse. The service is great. They give a 10% military discount. Their coffee has this rich aroma that smells like home. There are little to no college students (no alcohol?), and the location is easy. I really love the food here. They are typically very friendly and fast. The cleanliness could be improved, however. Every single time I come here, I am disgusted that they place coffee cups upside down with the rim touching the table upon seating guests. I don't understand the point of flipping the cups upside down and I once had a health inspector tell me that was not acceptable working in a restaurant. It never fails to gross me out and I don't see the point in flipping upside down. read more
