Sheesh, it's already 10 a.m. and we need to break the fast. "Hey Google, breakfast sammies near me?" Early edition was in the top 3. Boom, like a firecracker I'm headed there. They don't serve typical breakfast biscuits, but slammed a fluffy folded scrambled egg omlet style, and a sausage patty betwixt two of the lightest, butteriest homemade buscuits north of the Mason/Dixon. No way to describe the crumbly goodness. Side of thick cut homefries rounded it out. Talk about accommodation. Off the cuff, build my style biscuit sammiches that came out way better than the taste in my head. That's service the way we from the 60s remember. To go order here means to go. They niether dillied or dallied. My order was out way faster than I'm accustomed to. This was 5 stars and then. Thankful EE isn't in my town in Texas. I'd need new stretchy pants. We were planning to try a different place for breakfast but it was an hour wait. This worked out well for us as it led us to Early Edition. We tried the stuffed French toast as it seemed to be their specialty. It definitely hit the spot. My wife went for the pancake. Not pancakes, just one and that's a good thing because this cake was about twice the size of the plate. She barely got through half of it! Add some great service and even a refill on the cappuccino and you get 5 stars! read more

My husband and I decided to try this place out for brunch and it was great! The restaurant has a very cozy feel to it. Upon entering, there's cute little decorations and books that catches your eye. Walked in and were greeted and seated quickly wait staff was prompt and quick to take our orders. Place was clean and in good condition very inviting look. Order Ruben special with salad for lunch. First and foremost the service is outstanding. After a lackluster breakfast the day before at another restaurant, I was hesitant to try another new place. They delivered from the coffee to the breakfast entree. I had the skillet with eggs, meat, sausage gravy with a side of toast. It was a lot of food and I took over half to go. The skillet had flavor and the gravy was pretty good. The coffee was also very good even though it was just a normal cup of coffee. I don't know what they use to make the coffee but it hit the spot today. My husband said the chicken fried steak was also good. Although everything is delicious my favorite is the parfait which comes with an incredible homemade muffin. Many would argue it takes second chair to the chef, but I think the sit down diner feel of these restaurants(two locations so you'll get seated quickly at atleast one) beats the new age attempt that is overrated with inadequate seating at the chef. My girlfriend and I have eaten at both locations in Manhattan, and this one is definitely the better of the two! It's always busy on weekend mornings, but the service is great and they do a good job of getting you a table quickly. The menu is extensive and offers all of the traditional breakfast favorites. 1. First impression, dirty, booths looked stained like they weren't wiped down, flys flying around me 2. Asked for fruit on the side for my daughters pancake, came in a stupid looking happy face. Acoustics in the building are terrible, it was so loud inside couldn't hear my wife talking and she was sitting 2 feet across from me, plus had a crying baby in the booth behind us and because the building echos so much, made my 1st experience very unenjoyable 5. Staff seems very inexperienced on what needs to come to the table for breakfast ie., syrup, jelly, ketchup, also none of that was even offered when the food was brought out. 6. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs, the only thing that had any seasoning was the fired potato's, which was probably treated like french fries, tossed in hot oil, dumped out on a tray, and salted. If wall paper glue had taste, i would image my gravy for my country fried steak was what it would taste like. Absolutely bland and had to dump a bunch of salt and pepper to make it remotely desirable. I also ordered one Belgium waffle. I'm sure it was the same batter for the waffles that was used for my daughters pancake, just bland and not fun to eat. However, it was cooked better then the pancake, but i can about bet it's different because of different methods of cooking. In conclusion, I can understand that even with feedback like this it won't make any difference because their main revenue are college kids who don't know any better and probably don't have any standards in what good breakfast food is, it makes you wonder how this restaurant survived a pandemic lockdown when they serve food like this. Best homemade breakfast anyone can ask for!!!! Early Edition is the same simple breakfast when you don't want to do it yourself, just better. It's great to see all ages enjoying the same foods at every corner. Eggs perfect, bacon crispy, sausage delish, waffles you couldnt make if you tried. For having a bright decor it still manages to be very cozy. The line is crazy on a Sunday morning but always worth the wait. I like the fact that they hire high schoolers to work here. Our waitress (Jayne) was clearly still in high school but was super friendly and professional. Do you know how hard it was to find a restaurant that has Tapatio in Kansas? Everyone has Tabasco! The food came in big portions and plenty of coffee that kept coming. The country potatoes were deep fried and that's not really my thing, I prefer them pan fried and not crunchy. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the steak I had was enough to keep me satisfied for the whole day. I asked for medium well and it came out correct. Service was okay. She was very nice but a little forgetful. My water had a hair and another particle of some sort in it so I asked for another water and a spoon for my hot cocoa. She returned to the table 5 minutes later to see if we needed anything... I reminded her of the water and spoon. That happens though so no worries. My main issue was the food. I had ANOTHER hair in my potato eggs Benedict so I just ate one of the two. Which was alright because they were huge anyway. I'm sorry to say the hollandaise sauce was awful. It tastes like it came from a jar. Not fresh. It almost tasted cheesy... just not a good flavor at all. My poached eggs were nearly over hard. Not runny at all. My husband got the black bean burrito and added bacon to it. The bacon was flimsy. Not crispy at all. The burrito itself simply didn't taste very good. Also the waitress forgot his side of rye toast but charged for it. She took it off at the end per our request. Overall a poor experience. We may give it another go eventually but I will be looking elsewhere for our next breakfast destination. read more

My husband and I have been looking for a brunch place with chicken and waffles, finally found one! I ordered the breakfast tamale With an additional tamale and avocado on the side to that we can split our meals. Both meals were delicious! And very filling! The restaurant was filled when we got there but only waited about 5min for a table to free up. We were promptly seated and had our orders taken in a timely manner. The place was still fairly filled when we were headed out. There were several things on the menu that I wanted to try so we definitely will be back. Definitely recommend The only con which barely counts as a con at all is the outside of the restaurant looks more like a business building so it was a bit confusing to see from the road but we didn't have any other complaints. read more

My service was terrible we waited 1 hour to get seated then 30 minutes to get our order taken as we watched our server stand around or take care of other people who were seated after us and then he didn't even bring out things we asked for like boxes i always had to ask another server to get taken care of and then they upcharged our meal because we did the math and didn't order $30 of food but only $23 and wouldn't even provide an itemized receipt for us to look at. read more

We could have had an excellent experience had we not been assigned the worst waitress in the Midwest "Anna". When we got to our booth we first had to work our way around Anna's elbow. She was leaning on the back of our booth telling the neighboring couple her complete life story. After several minutes she finally glanced at us and said "I'll be with you folks in a few minutes". The owner finally came out and poured us some water. My wife watched him admonish her. Anna then poured us our coffee even though we told her we only wanted water. She then left our food to dry out nicely so she could do who knows what. The rest of the staff is excellent but Anna needs to go.
